Small Beauty Haul From Target and Sephora

Hi all! I hope you’re all well and staying safe.

I have a little haul to share.¬† I made a couple of orders — one with Ulta and one with Sephora during the recent sales. Here’s what I picked up:

IMG-3363

From Sephora I picked up two Urban Decay palettes half price!  Plus, I got the Tatcha and Youth to the People deluxe samples with my Sephora points.

The Sunday Riley set was on sale during the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty.¬† I also picked up some soaps, and got free shipping when I purchased the skincare.¬† I haven’t tried it yet.

IMG-3368

These are the Ont The Run Mini Palettes in G-Train and Bailout.¬† I have the pink and blue/brown toned ones and I wanted these two.¬† They were on sale for $12.50 each!¬† I should have got the last one, Highway Queen (oranges), but I’m sure I will pick it up later. I love the formula of these palettes.

IMG-3369

This is Bailout!  Gorgeous browns and purples.

IMG-3374

G-Train is warmer and has a couple of gorgeous greens!¬† I will hopefully be swatching and reviewing these soon.¬† And I’m sure I’ll be using one or both of these this month in my daily Shop My Stash (check out my Instagram @fortyflirtyfab).

IMG-3367

This is the Sunday Riley Flash Fix set. It has the Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment and the Ceramic Slip Cleanser.¬† I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks really nice.

IMG-3366

For my Sephora points, I got two duos — the Youth to the People Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream and the Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser.¬† I also picked up the Tatcha The Deep Cleanse and The Water Cream.

Shop My Stash January 2020 Results and Monthly Empties

Hi All! Happy Saturday!¬†I’m back with my January Shop My Stash results!¬† I enjoy dipping into my collection and using products I haven’t used in a long time, or just haven’t given much of a chance.

My rule with this is if I don’t like the item after the month, I will move it out of my collection to make some room and let someone else enjoy it!¬†You can check out my first Shop My Stash post for January.

IMG-2524

I’ve had a lot of fun playing with these products this month!¬† And I have decided to keep all of these products for now.

The Colourpop blush and Milani blusher are both amazing products! They are still fairly new to me, but I now have a good idea of how they perform, and I love them.

I’ve found that I don’t really wear lipstick any more, just liner and gloss.¬† I did wear my MAC Creme in Your Coffee lipstick once or twice.¬† It is nice and I’ll keep it, but I now want to go through my lipsticks and get rid of most of them. I did a pretty big declutter last year of my makeup, but I really want to pair it down to just what I use.¬† Would you be interested in seeing that on my blog?

IMG-2710

I used this palette a lot this month!¬† I tried every shade.¬† I’ve found that I like it okay.¬† Many of the shades have to be built up, especially the shimmers.¬† I am okay with building up mattes, but I like my shimmers to be soft and very blingy.¬† I do like the variety of the shades and I made a lot of varied looks with it.¬† I think I’ll keep it for now, but I might pass it on when I declutter.

IMG-2711

Urban Decay On The Run palette in Detour¬† – I really love this palette.¬† It’s the opposite of the Emily Edit palette in that it’s very pigmented and easy to use.¬† The shimmers, especially Dash, are creamy and are very blingy!¬† And the mattes are so easy to blend.I am very happy to keep this in my collection.

On to my empties:

IMG-2707

I had a lot more empties than I thought I would this month, but I have been trying to go through my products more.¬† So I’m proud of these.

For skincare, I finished the PIXI Jasmine Oil and the PIXI Collagen & Retinol Serum.¬† I’ve had the Jasmine oil for a while, but I concentrated on using it the last few months.¬† I love the scent.¬† I also liked the serum, which was unscented, but I don’t know if it did much to my skin.¬† The Glow Recipe Pineapple Bright Serum was very scented like extremely ripe pineapple.¬† I didn’t care for the scent¬† but I loved the serum to brighten my skin.¬† I would repurchase the PIXI Jasmine oil and the Glow Recipe.¬†

The Laneige Choco Mint lip mask was amazing! I got it in a holiday set with a full size of the berry and another little one.  I use the lip mask every day.  And I will continue to repurchase them so I always have one on hand. I also used up the Body Shop Fall For Pumpkin body butter I purchased in October and two hand creams, Juicy Pear and Mango, from my The Body Shop advent calendar.

For Makeup, I finally used up the Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer.¬† I’ve had it for about 18 months and have been working on using it up.¬† It’s okay.¬† It works fine, but was really expensive.¬† I don’t know if I’ll purchase again in the future.¬† I also finished my L’Oreal Lash Paradise primer, a deluxe size of the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara and the Pop Beauty lip liner.¬† I would purchase the lip liner again, I loved it.

I had fun playing with the products in my Shop My Stash last month.¬† I’ll be posting my new one hopefully tomorrow.

BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review — January 2019

IMG_2482

Hi all! I received my January BoxyCharm this week! The first one of 2019 I see the spoilers each month, so I basically knew what I was getting. There were a lot of variations this month.

I’ve been subscribed to BoxyCharm for about a year and a half now and really enjoy it.¬†Boxycharm is just $21 a month for 4-5 beauty items, most of them full-sized.¬† It is a nice¬† way to try new makeup and beauty tools.

This month I received:

img_2799

BRIOGEO¬†Rosarco Milk‚ĄĘ Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray — $9

tarte¬†limited-edition Rainforest of the Sea ‚ĄĘ highlighting eyeshadow palette vol. III — $36¬†

TATCHA¬†Luminous Dewy Skin Sheet Masks¬†— Set of 2, $24

OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick Р$20

Billion Dollar Brows Pencil¬†— $18

img_2808

I was so glad to get this.¬† I have a small bottle of the Briogeo Don‚Äôt Despair Repair! Leave-In Mask in my October BoxyCharm, and I’m almost out of it. I haven’t used this one before and am really liking it so far.¬† It leaves my hair very soft.

img_2814img_2818¬†This is very pretty. There were three variations of this.¬† All of them has 7 shimmers and 1 matte.¬† Which is kind of strange, I would have liked a few more matte shades in the palette.¬† I’ve tried it once, but need to keep testing it out.¬† I’ll be reviewing it on my blog sometime hopefully soon.¬† I know I say that each month (Violet Voss palette from December BoxyLuxe for example), but I plan to be reviewing more of my palettes this year! I’m glad I got this, though, and think it’s a nice, neutral palette.

img_2810.jpg

I am so excited about these Tatcha masks! I got two, which is amazing!¬† I haven’t tried one yet, but I am looking forward to it.¬† It’s cold and snowy here and my skin is really dry! Hopefully these will help! Tatcha is super luxe and I’ve only tried their primer. I hope to try more from them this year, so this is a nice start!

img_2812img_2813

I do like Ofra lipsticks, but this is way too dark for me.¬† And I don’t really wear liquid lipsticks that often. I like creamy lipsticks and glosses!¬† So I will pass this on.

The eyebrow pencil seems really nice.¬† It’s supposed to be a universal shade, but it might be a little light for me.¬† My brows are almost black.¬† But I will keep trying it out.¬† It’s a nice texture and has a good spoolie on it.

This month is such a big win for me.¬† I’m keeping 4 out of the 5 products!¬† I usually only use just one or two. I will use all of the Briogeo spray, the eyshadow, the amazing Tatcha masks and will try to make the brow pencil work.¬† The lipstick will go to a friend or family member. Not bad BoxyCharm!

You can sign up here. It is my referral link, so if you sign up, I will receive charms, which is their rewards program.

Do you get BoxyCharm? What did you get and what do you think of this month’s box?

June 2018 Beauty Favorites

IMG_1440

I can’t believe tomorrow is July!¬† June (and the first half of the year) has just flown by! That means it’s time for my June favorites!

Since this was my birthday month, I got a lot of new products.¬† Most of them I haven’t used enough to include in my favorites, but a few I instantly loved!

I loved two hydrating sprays this month, the Smashbox So Chill Coconut primer water and the Pacifica Crystal Power Hydro Mist.  They both smell so nice and I like using them before makeup and for refreshing during the day.  The Pacifica one is a bit lower in price, but the Smashbox one is my fave.  It smells so amazing!

I bought the Fenty Beauty lip gloss in a set with a highlighter.¬† The highlighter is pretty, but not really a shade I wear, it’s kind of peachy.¬† But the gloss is amazing! It gives such a pretty shine and it’s sticky or goopy.¬† I wear it almost every day either over lipstick or alone.

The NARS Orgasm mini blush was my birthday gift from Ulta.¬† I’ve never really tried this and I love the shade. It’s shimmery and a coral-pink shade, which is perfect for summer.

The TATCHA¬†The Silk Canvas Protective Primer was the item I’ve been wanting the most.¬† It glides on and blurs my pores and fine lines.¬† Plus it looks amazing under makeup and helps my foundation last.¬† I don’t use it every day, because I want to make it last, but I love how I look when I do.

PIXI Beauty Jasmine Oil Blend smells amazing!  It smells just like fresh jasmine flowers. I love this at night.  It contains a jasmine flower extract, evening primrose and grape seed oil.  It is so hydrating and it calms my red skin.  In the morning my skin is bright and smooth.

My last favorite is Jergen’s¬† Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer.¬† I’ve been using this in the lighter shade (which is in my shower), but I’m ready to go darker and use the medium to tan one shown.¬† This is SO easy to use.¬† You put it on when your skin is wet and pat it dry with your towel.

What are your faves for June?

Birthday Beauty Gifts!

IMG_1420

Hi all!¬† Now I’m calling this Birthday Gifts, but most of them are gifts I bought myself!¬† I spoiled myself for my 50th and am really enjoying most of the products!

On the left is my birthday gift from Sephora.¬† I chose the¬†Sephora Beauty Insider Bite Beauty Birthday gift —¬† There was also a GlamGlow one and an online Bumble and Bumble gift. This included a¬† Mini Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai, Mini Matte Cr√®me Lip Crayon in Glac√©, and Agave Lip Treatment Sample Duo. I have tried the lip crayon, and it’s really pretty on. The lipstick is a little dark for me, but I am looking forward to try the lip treatment duo.

Fenty Beauty¬†Bomb Baby Mini Lip and Face Set — This is one of the products on my birthday wish list.¬† I LOVE the lip gloss and wish I just got a full size of that.¬† It so gorgeous on and isn’t sticky at all.¬† I use it on it’s own or over lipstick. The highlighter is nice, but it’s a little dark for my skin tone. It’s the¬† Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Hu$tla Baby, a peachy-champagne shimmer. It looks amazing on my eyes, though.

TATCHA¬†The Silk Canvas Protective Primer — This was the item I wanted the most, so I bought it as a gift to myself! It is a “velvety priming balm of pressed silk that smooths and makes makeup last longer while keeping it out of skin, helping to prevent clogged pores and breakouts.”¬†

I’ve used this a few times now and really like it.¬† It smooths out my skin so well and my makeup looks amazing over it.¬† I don’t use it everyday, because it is SO spendy, I want to make it last!¬† The only thing is I can’t wear my new Coola sunscreen under it or it will ball up and come off.¬† It’s gross. So I need to find another spf moisturizer to wear under it.

The one product I purchased and don’t really care for is the¬†Milk Makeup¬†KUSH High Volume Mascara — It supposedly has¬†heart-shaped fibers that lock onto lashes for long-lasting volume, length, and curl. “Conditioning cannabis oil fuses to lashes for thickness without fallout, while also working to fill the hollow, heart-shaped fibers with formula for a double dose of volume. Hemp-derived cannabis oil continues to hydrate for healthier-looking lashes, even after you‚Äôve removed your mascara.”

That’s fine.¬† I really don’t care about the cannabis oil part of it, I guess if it’s good for my lashes, that’s nice.¬† What I don’t like is that it smears under my eyes every time I wear it.¬† It’s so bad!¬† My Cover Girl Last Blast looks and wears better than this mascara!¬† It gives good volume, but I also need length. I am going to try this one more time with a primer under it for more length and a waterproof mascara on top so maybe it won’t smear.¬† We will see.

Tarte¬†Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer —¬†I’m sure everybody knows what this is!¬† I have been wanting to try it for a while now.¬† When the foundation came out and didn’t have a very inclusive shade range, I kind of lost interest, but I thought I would try it now.¬† And it’s as good as everyone says.

Urban Decay¬†Born To Run Eyeshadow Palette — I got a Sephora gift card from my daughter and decided to purchase this, because the shades are so gorgeous!¬† I will be reviewing this in a day or two, but spoiler alert, I LOVE it!

On the right are a few deluxe samples.  The Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream and the Lancome Monsieur Big Waterproof Mascara were each 100 Insider points and the Dior BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundation was a gift with purchase with $35 spent. And I got a Clinique foil pouch that looks fun to try.

Let me know if you would like a more in-depth review of any of the other products (besides the palette ’cause it’s coming!).¬† I also have purchased a couple of BH Cosmetics palettes and the new ColourPop foundation, reviews to come along with some new pr products! So I have lots to do in the coming weeks!

My 50th Birthday Beauty Wish List!

You saw is correctly, I am turning 50 this month!¬† It feels unreal, but I have decided to (somewhat) embrace it!¬† I’ve never done a wish list or a products I’m interested in buying post, but I thought this might be fun!

First, from my Sephora loves list:

Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer
Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer

Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer ($58 USD) — This is a “velvety priming balm of pressed silk that smooths and makes makeup last longer while keeping it out of skin, helping to prevent clogged pores and breakouts.” It is currently out of stock at Sephora.¬† It is very expensive for a primer.¬† But, I have huge pores, especially during allergy season, and I’ve heard this is excellent!

Other Tatcha products I would love to try is the¬†Bestsellers Set or just the¬†Luminous Dewy Skin Mist on it’s own.

Benefit Cosmetics Blush Bar Cheek Palette
Benefit Cosmetics Blush Bar Cheek Palette

Benefit Cosmetics Blush Bar Cheek Palette ($58) —¬†This cheek palette includes Benefit‚Äôs new Gold Rush warm golden-nectar blush, as well as the iconic Hoola matte bronzer, the bestselling Dandelion brightening baby-pink blush, and more. With shades to flatter all skin tones, this must-have palette has everything you need to contour, bronze, brighten, and define your features. It comes complete with a soft powder brush, mirror, and Benefit‚Äôs signature Tips & Tricks.

I think this is beautiful and I think these shades will be perfect for summer.¬† Macy’s is currently having a 10 days of Glam sale I blogged about here.¬† On June 8th Benefit’s boxes of powders — including ones in the palette — will be half off.¬† So I might pick up a couple there.

Fenty Beauty Bomb Baby Mini Lip and Face Set
Fenty Beauty Bomb Baby Mini Lip and Face Set

Fenty Beauty Bomb Baby Mini Lip and Face Set ($23 USD) — I have still not tried anything from Fenty!¬† It’s crazy, because I really like Rihanna and think the line looks amazing.¬† This is “a¬†must-have set of FENTY BEAUTY‚ÄôS most coveted luminizers for the face and lips in travel-friendly sizes for killer radiance on the fly.”¬† This sounds amazing for summer!¬† I love highlighter and lip gloss.¬† I think I might pick this up when I go into Sephora to get my birthday gift.

In the future, I would love to try Fenty’s foundation and maybe some of their other products.¬† Any suggestions???

Next are some picks from Ulta that I need:

Dose Of Colors Block Party Single Eyeshadow¬†($20 each) — The shades above are:

Sky’s the Limit (soft brown base w/ icy lilac reflects)

Shell We Dance (pink champagne base w/ platinum reflects)

Lock & Key (medium brown base w/ gold reflects)

I know that $20 for a single shadow is steep, especially in the age of affordable palettes with lots of shades to choose from.  But I have seen makeup tutorials on YouTube with these and they are so gorgeous!  I would love to try one or two.

Physicians Formula Online Only Butter Collection Box
Physicians Formula Online Only Butter Collection Box

Physicians Formula Online Only Butter Collection Box ($29.99 USD) — Escape to the beaches of Brazil with Physicians Formula’s Butter Collection – an assortment of Physicians Formula’s most sought-after, skin-loving products.

Limited Edition Butter Collection Box includes:

  • Butter Bronzer (bronzer) (0.38 oz)
  • Butter Blush (natural glow) (0.26 oz)
  • Butter Highlighter (pearl) (0.17 oz)
  • Limited Edition Body Butter (0.5 oz)
  • Butter Paradise Eau De Toilette (0.5 oz)

There’s another set sold at Walmart for less than half the price of this, but you

Morphe Laura Lee's Favorite Brush Collection
Morphe Laura Lee’s Favorite Brush Collection

Morphe Laura Lee’s Favorite Brush Collection ($54 USD) — This is available at the Morphe website, not Ulta.¬† I have been eyeing this for a few weeks.¬† The selection has brushes that I would use daily. It inclused 11 brushes chosen by YouTuber Laura Lee.

Now, of course this isn’t all of the makeup that I want, these are just splurges that I would need to save up for.¬† I’m also interested in some fun brand new eye shadow palettes like Laura Lee’s Nudie Patootie, Dominique Cosmetics The Latte palette¬†¬†and one that is launching tomorrow, Lunar Beauty’s Life’s a Drag.

So that’s my big 5 0 birthday wish list!¬† What makeup are you wanting this year?
