10 in 2020 — Rolling Project Pan First Check In

Hi all!¬† I hope you’re doing well and staying safe!

This year I started with 10 makeup products.¬† My rule this year is once I use one up, I’ll replace it with someone else.¬† In the case of pressed powder products, I will probably keep them to see how far I can pan them this year.¬† Here are the products I first started out with:

I have close up photos of the powders and stick products.¬† I can’t really tell how much of the liquid products I have, but I’d say they are all half to 3/4 full.

Here’s a group photo of what I am using now:

So, the three glosses are gone!¬† I used up two of them, the Bite Beauty and Buxom in White Russian.¬† I gave away the Dose of Colors gloss.¬† I just don’t like the formula of that lip gloss.¬† It’s very sticky and full coverage.¬† I like a sheer hydrating gloss.

I replaced them with two Buxom glosses, Dolly Lip Polish and Hot Toddy Lip Creme.¬† And a new product, the Becca Cosmetics Under Eye Brightening Corrector.¬† I started using this pretty much right after I started my project pan, after I got rid of the Dose of Colors gloss.¬† Here’s the photos how it was in the beginning and how it is now:

I had already hit pan, but I made a huge dent in it!  I am hoping to use it up by my end of June check in. If not, for sure in my September check in.

And I am so proud of hitting pan on my butter bronzer!¬† I’ve had this for almost two years and have finally hit pan!¬† I’m hoping to make that pan much bigger by next check in.

I have not used this a lot.  Swirled together, the shade is darker than I am now.  I will be using it more in Summer.

I have used this almost all up!¬† I’m still scraping in the container, but I should be done with this soon!

I have been using this eyebrow pencil almost everyday.¬† I can’t believe it’s not used up yet!¬† I’m going to keep going and hopefully use it up by next check in.

For my other products, I’m about halfway through the beautyblender Selfie Shield primer.¬† I have been using it more.¬† I had to cut open the Leveler primer (in the back) because it wasn’t coming out.¬† I have about an eighth of it left so am almost done with it.

I think my Project Pan is going pretty well.  I used up three products and should use up a few more by the next check in.  I will replace them with other items since this is a rolling project pan.

Are you doing a Project Pan this year?¬† How’s it going if you are?

10 in 2020 — Rolling Project Pan

Hi all!¬† I’m back with my first Project Pan in a year!¬† I took a year off, but have decided it’s time to use up some makeup.

The Project Pans I did in 2019 were mostly skincare.¬† This year I’m starting with 10 makeup products and once I use one up, I’ll replace it with someone else.¬† In the case of pressed powder products, I will probably keep them to see how far I can pan them this year.¬† Here’s what I’ve chosen to start off with:

I have close up photos of the powders and stick products.¬† I can’t really tell how much of the liquid products I have, but I’d say they are all half to 3/4 full.

Here’s the starting photo of my Butter Bronzer.¬† I’ve had this for a year and a half.¬† I use it consistently, and it’s crazy that I haven’t hit pan!¬† I’m hoping to make a big dent in it this year!

I’ve had this powder foundation for a couple of years.¬† It’s starting to get a little dry, but it still works well.¬† I’m hopefully going to pan it this year and at the end of the year (or sooner), I’ll decide if I want to keep it.

I purchased this last spring and used it a lot in the spring and summer.¬† I haven’t used it for a few months, but I wore it today and remembered how amazing it makes my skin look!¬† I’m sure I will use it up this year.

I have been using this pencil since fall, but I thought I had more left in it!¬† It shouldn’t take me long to use this up.

I’m excited to see how this project pan goes!¬† Hopefully I’ll use up some of my products this year.¬† Also, check out my monthly Shop My Stash results to see my mostly skincare empties.

Are you doing a project pan this year?

Sephora VIB Appreciation Sale Mini Haul

Hi all! I did a little haul during the recent Sephora VIB Appreciation sale.¬† I’m currently just an Insider (I usually shop at Ulta). I’m close to being a VIB, which will be nice for the next sale!

Here are the products I purchased.¬† There’s swatches at the end:

Stila¬†Glitter On The Go Liquid Eye Shadow Set¬†($25) I’ve been wanting to try these for a while.¬†¬†The shades are:

Rose Gold Retro Рrose gold & silver                                                                                         Kitten Karma Рchampagne, silver & copper                                                                   Smoldering Satin Рdeep tan & silver

I think these are so pretty, but they are sooooo glittery.¬† I tried them on and they left glitter all over my face.¬† These definitely aren’t an every day product, so I have to firgure out where to wear them!

BITE BEAUTY¬†French Press Lip Gloss¬†($18 USD) —¬†¬†This collection of lip glosses contains hydrating coffee butters and arabica cold press coffee oil, and has a sweet mocha flavor.

I have heard a lot about this and especially the shade I got, Flat White. I have fair/light skin, but this is still a bit light for me. And it has more coverage than I thought it would.¬† It’s not sheer.¬† But If I use it over a darker liner or lipstick, I think it will look nice.¬† And it does feel creamy on, not sticky.¬† So I’ll continue using it.

This is the¬†Natasha Denona¬†Super Glow Highlighter ($38 USD) —¬†This super-soft, lightweight formula melts into the skin. It gives a glass-like strobing effect thanks to its high concentration of crushed and milled chroma crystals mixed with crushed pearls.

I have this in the fair shade, Icy Ivory.¬† It’s so gorgeous!¬† But, it’s not really an every day glow.¬† But I want to use it everyday because the glow looks healthy as well as booming!¬† So I like to brush a little translucent powder on top to tone it down. I kind of want this in¬†Light Medium¬†– nude champagne next.

From left to right -Bite lip gloss in Flat White, Stila Glitter & Glow in Rose Gold Retro, Kitten Karma, Smoldering Satin, and Natasha Denona highlighter in Fair.

I chose 3 freebies.¬† The¬†Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara¬†is so amazing.¬† I was going to buy a full-sized at the Ulta sale on Friday, but I didn’t make it to the store.¬† This is a decent little size, so I’ll take it.¬† I am looking forward to trying the Marc Jacobs Shameless primer and foundation.¬† I did’t choose the Rahua shampoo an condition, but I’ll use them.

Did you shop the latest Sephora sale? What did you pick up? I have been shopping the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale (and I’m not done yet).¬† I will be doing at least one post on that sale!

Birthday Beauty Gifts!

Hi all!¬† Now I’m calling this Birthday Gifts, but most of them are gifts I bought myself!¬† I spoiled myself for my 50th and am really enjoying most of the products!

On the left is my birthday gift from Sephora.¬† I chose the¬†Sephora Beauty Insider Bite Beauty Birthday gift —¬† There was also a GlamGlow one and an online Bumble and Bumble gift. This included a¬† Mini Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai, Mini Matte Cr√®me Lip Crayon in Glac√©, and Agave Lip Treatment Sample Duo. I have tried the lip crayon, and it’s really pretty on. The lipstick is a little dark for me, but I am looking forward to try the lip treatment duo.

Fenty Beauty¬†Bomb Baby Mini Lip and Face Set — This is one of the products on my birthday wish list.¬† I LOVE the lip gloss and wish I just got a full size of that.¬† It so gorgeous on and isn’t sticky at all.¬† I use it on it’s own or over lipstick. The highlighter is nice, but it’s a little dark for my skin tone. It’s the¬† Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Hu$tla Baby, a peachy-champagne shimmer. It looks amazing on my eyes, though.

TATCHA¬†The Silk Canvas Protective Primer — This was the item I wanted the most, so I bought it as a gift to myself! It is a “velvety priming balm of pressed silk that smooths and makes makeup last longer while keeping it out of skin, helping to prevent clogged pores and breakouts.”¬†

I’ve used this a few times now and really like it.¬† It smooths out my skin so well and my makeup looks amazing over it.¬† I don’t use it everyday, because it is SO spendy, I want to make it last!¬† The only thing is I can’t wear my new Coola sunscreen under it or it will ball up and come off.¬† It’s gross. So I need to find another spf moisturizer to wear under it.

The one product I purchased and don’t really care for is the¬†Milk Makeup¬†KUSH High Volume Mascara — It supposedly has¬†heart-shaped fibers that lock onto lashes for long-lasting volume, length, and curl. “Conditioning cannabis oil fuses to lashes for thickness without fallout, while also working to fill the hollow, heart-shaped fibers with formula for a double dose of volume. Hemp-derived cannabis oil continues to hydrate for healthier-looking lashes, even after you‚Äôve removed your mascara.”

That’s fine.¬† I really don’t care about the cannabis oil part of it, I guess if it’s good for my lashes, that’s nice.¬† What I don’t like is that it smears under my eyes every time I wear it.¬† It’s so bad!¬† My Cover Girl Last Blast looks and wears better than this mascara!¬† It gives good volume, but I also need length. I am going to try this one more time with a primer under it for more length and a waterproof mascara on top so maybe it won’t smear.¬† We will see.

Tarte¬†Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer —¬†I’m sure everybody knows what this is!¬† I have been wanting to try it for a while now.¬† When the foundation came out and didn’t have a very inclusive shade range, I kind of lost interest, but I thought I would try it now.¬† And it’s as good as everyone says.

Urban Decay¬†Born To Run Eyeshadow Palette — I got a Sephora gift card from my daughter and decided to purchase this, because the shades are so gorgeous!¬† I will be reviewing this in a day or two, but spoiler alert, I LOVE it!

On the right are a few deluxe samples.  The Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream and the Lancome Monsieur Big Waterproof Mascara were each 100 Insider points and the Dior BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundation was a gift with purchase with $35 spent. And I got a Clinique foil pouch that looks fun to try.

Let me know if you would like a more in-depth review of any of the other products (besides the palette ’cause it’s coming!).¬† I also have purchased a couple of BH Cosmetics palettes and the new ColourPop foundation, reviews to come along with some new pr products! So I have lots to do in the coming weeks!
