10 in 2020 — Rolling Project Pan First Check In

Hi all!¬† I hope you’re doing well and staying safe!

This year I started with 10 makeup products.¬† My rule this year is once I use one up, I’ll replace it with someone else.¬† In the case of pressed powder products, I will probably keep them to see how far I can pan them this year.¬† Here are the products I first started out with:

I have close up photos of the powders and stick products.¬† I can’t really tell how much of the liquid products I have, but I’d say they are all half to 3/4 full.

Here’s a group photo of what I am using now:

So, the three glosses are gone!¬† I used up two of them, the Bite Beauty and Buxom in White Russian.¬† I gave away the Dose of Colors gloss.¬† I just don’t like the formula of that lip gloss.¬† It’s very sticky and full coverage.¬† I like a sheer hydrating gloss.

I replaced them with two Buxom glosses, Dolly Lip Polish and Hot Toddy Lip Creme.¬† And a new product, the Becca Cosmetics Under Eye Brightening Corrector.¬† I started using this pretty much right after I started my project pan, after I got rid of the Dose of Colors gloss.¬† Here’s the photos how it was in the beginning and how it is now:

I had already hit pan, but I made a huge dent in it!  I am hoping to use it up by my end of June check in. If not, for sure in my September check in.

And I am so proud of hitting pan on my butter bronzer!¬† I’ve had this for almost two years and have finally hit pan!¬† I’m hoping to make that pan much bigger by next check in.

I have not used this a lot.  Swirled together, the shade is darker than I am now.  I will be using it more in Summer.

I have used this almost all up!¬† I’m still scraping in the container, but I should be done with this soon!

I have been using this eyebrow pencil almost everyday.¬† I can’t believe it’s not used up yet!¬† I’m going to keep going and hopefully use it up by next check in.

For my other products, I’m about halfway through the beautyblender Selfie Shield primer.¬† I have been using it more.¬† I had to cut open the Leveler primer (in the back) because it wasn’t coming out.¬† I have about an eighth of it left so am almost done with it.

—————————————————————————————————————————————

I think my Project Pan is going pretty well.  I used up three products and should use up a few more by the next check in.  I will replace them with other items since this is a rolling project pan.

Are you doing a Project Pan this year?¬† How’s it going if you are?

10 in 2020 — Rolling Project Pan

Hi all!¬† I’m back with my first Project Pan in a year!¬† I took a year off, but have decided it’s time to use up some makeup.

The Project Pans I did in 2019 were mostly skincare.¬† This year I’m starting with 10 makeup products and once I use one up, I’ll replace it with someone else.¬† In the case of pressed powder products, I will probably keep them to see how far I can pan them this year.¬† Here’s what I’ve chosen to start off with:

IMG-2571

I have close up photos of the powders and stick products.¬† I can’t really tell how much of the liquid products I have, but I’d say they are all half to 3/4 full.

IMG-2551

Here’s the starting photo of my Butter Bronzer.¬† I’ve had this for a year and a half.¬† I use it consistently, and it’s crazy that I haven’t hit pan!¬† I’m hoping to make a big dent in it this year!

IMG-2565

I’ve had this powder foundation for a couple of years.¬† It’s starting to get a little dry, but it still works well.¬† I’m hopefully going to pan it this year and at the end of the year (or sooner), I’ll decide if I want to keep it.

IMG-2630

I purchased this last spring and used it a lot in the spring and summer.¬† I haven’t used it for a few months, but I wore it today and remembered how amazing it makes my skin look!¬† I’m sure I will use it up this year.

IMG-2555

I have been using this pencil since fall, but I thought I had more left in it!¬† It shouldn’t take me long to use this up.

——————————————————————————————————————————–

I’m excited to see how this project pan goes!¬† Hopefully I’ll use up some of my products this year.¬† Also, check out my monthly Shop My Stash results to see my mostly skincare empties.

Are you doing a project pan this year?

2018 Annual Beauty Favorites

Happy New Year!  I am so excited to get 2019 started.

I haven’t done a monthly favorites since October — the end of the year has been so crazy!¬† But I want to look back on a few of my favorites for 2018. I’ve chosen my favorite makeup in each category I use — and a skincare favorite or two.

Even though I am just picking one (or so) from each category, I needed two photos to capture my faves.  And I am going in order of application:

IMG_2769

The two skincare products I’ve chosen are the Derma E Firming DMAE Cleanser and the Elemis¬†Pro-Collagen Marine Cream.¬† I featured the Derma E Cleanser in my most recent Project Pan.¬† I was proud that I panned it, but I’m also sad that I’m all out!¬† It really cleanses the skin without drying it out.¬† And it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin.¬† I just started using the Elemis cream.¬† It is so beautiful!¬† I started out using it morning and night, but I’m almost out, so I only use it in the morning.¬† It’s so nice under makeup.¬† It’s smooths and hydrates my skin and my makeup applies smoother.

I then like to spritz some Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water. I discovered it this year and really like using it before pore filling primer.¬† My favorite has been the Cover FX Blurring Primer.¬† I’m almost out of it, but I love how well it fills in my pores.¬† I received it in BoxyCharm and am very impressed bye it. I want to try more primers from Cover FX this year.¬† I next like to apply BECCA¬†Under Eye Brightening Corrector before I apply foundation and concealer.¬† It instantly makes my dark circles look lighter.

My favorite foundation this year is the Physician’s Formula The Healthy Foundation. I have it in the shade LC1. It’s a bit light for me, except for this time of year.¬† I will probably purchase it in a darker shade for the spring and summer.¬† It has a natural medium coverage finish which is exactly what I like in a foundation. I have used up a¬†Flower Beauty Light Illusion Concealer¬†and am working on a second one now that I found in my drawer.¬† I think the first one I used was in Fair and this one is in Light, but they are both so beautiful on.¬† It’s full coverage but looks very natural. I just panned the Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder in 10 Fair Light.¬† I have been using it for most of 2018. It sets the face so nicely and gives a hint of color.

IMG_2771IMG_2773

After I apply my foundation and powder, I bronze with the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer.¬† I purchased this in the spring and have been using it all year! It applies smoothly and blends out so well.¬† And the smell is divine! The Natasha Denona Super Glow Highlighter in #1 Fair is one of my favorites of the year.¬† I purchased this when I was trying to buy the Anastasia Amrezy¬†Highlighter earlier in the year, but it was sold out.¬† (I have recently purchased it and will be reviewing it soon). The Natasha highlighter is very blinding, but can be toned down with a little powder.

Speaking of Anastasia, I purchased a¬†Blush Trio in Peachy Love earlier this year at an Ulta sale. I love mixing the first and third color to brighten up my light skin.¬† I also love the bareMinerals¬†Gen Nude Powder Blush in On the Mauve for cooler toned looks. To finish off face products, I want to mention the Urban Decay setting sprays, especially the¬†Chill Cooling and Hydrating Makeup Setting Spray.¬† I used it up this fall and don’t have the bottle, but it was my summer setting spray.¬† It feels so nice on and¬† my makeup lasts all day.

For eye shadow this year, my favorite is the Urban Decay¬†Born To Run Eyeshadow Palette.¬† I love the quality and the variety of colors. My honorable mention is one I just received in my BoxyLuxe, the Violet Voss Holy Grail PRO Eyeshadow Palette.¬† I don’t know when this was released, but it’s new to me! I still need to review it, but spoiler alert, it’s gorgeous!

I have short, sparse lashes so although mascara helps, my lashes never looked amazing until I started using the L’Oreal¬†Voluminous Lash Primer under my mascara.¬† I received a small sample in an Ulta order in Spring and I purchased a full size.¬† I think it’s time to get another one, because I don’t want to be without!¬† The¬†Buxom Lash Mascara works perfectly over it and my lashes look long and lush, almost like I’m wearing falsies!

Although my lashes are sparse, my brows are dark and full.¬† As I age, they are finally thinning out and I have started to fill them in.¬† I received the L.A. Girl Shady Slim Brow Pencil as a free gift the same time I received the L’Oreal lash primer.¬† The words have rubbed off, so I’m not even sure what the shade is.¬† I think it’s Blackest Brown.¬† Whatever it is, it’s perfect for me!¬† It’s very thin and easy to draw on brow hairs.¬† And it has a nice spooly on the end.¬† I’ts only $5.99 so I will be purchasing¬† new one once I run out.

And lastly is lips.¬† I am sooooo glad that gloss made a comeback this year!¬† Light rosy and nude glosses are my favorites.¬† I love a lot — Buxom, Lorac, Dose of Colors — but my favorite is the Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow.¬† It’s a beautiful nude-rose shade and is really hydrating, not sticky at all.¬† My favorite lipstick is the Lipstick Queen¬†Nothing But the Nudes in Nothing But The Truth.¬† I also love The Truth and The Whole Truth.¬† These are the original three in the collection, but there are now 6 more nude shades and I want them!¬† These lipsticks are creamy and hydrating on.¬† So nice if you like nude lipsticks!

Whew!  That was a long post!  What did you love this year?  Any winners I should check out?

October 2018 Beauty Favorites

IMG_2445

Hi all!¬† It’s November!¬† This year has gone by so fast!¬† Soon it will be Christmas.

I have a few items I’ve been using almost every day in October. Here are the items and links to my first review or post about it:

IT Cosmetics Secret Sauce ($68 USD) — My skin has gotten so dry lately. This moisturizer is thick and hydrating, perfect for colder weather! The skin-loving, powerfully potent secret lies in the Secret Sauce‚ĄĘ Fermented Complex: 7 clinically advanced, penetration-enhancing fermented ingredients that help to increase absorbency and maximize the ultra-hydrating, anti-aging benefits of Secret Sauce‚ĄĘ.¬†Also featuring anti-aging peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and licorice root, Secret Sauce‚ĄĘ is perfect for all skin types and reduces the look of discoloration, lines and wrinkles. I used this at night and in the morning my skin is soft and glowy!

BECCA¬†Under Eye Brightening Corrector is a full-coverage creme that color-corrects the appearance of under-eye darkness. It is infused with ultra-fine, light-reflecting illuminators. I like this a lot. It’s just the right shade to go under my eye, it’s a little bit lighter than my skin tone. It helps cover my dark circles and give us a bit of a glow. This was a favorite earlier in the year, but I’ve been using it again and love to apply it every day under my concealer.

Wunder2 Wunderkiss Gloss Lip Liner ($11.95 USD) — This liner is created to be used with ¬†lip gloss! The liner is very smooth and easy to use. The claim is that it can be used to¬† create a beautiful, long-lasting lip contour that keeps your lip gloss in place. I find that it does just that.¬† My gloss looks fresh for longer. Available in 3 shades — Nude, Rose and Berry.¬† I love the Nude.¬† I have been trying to use up three Lorac glosses in my current Project Pan, and this lip liner helps them stay on longer and my lips look more polished.

Urban Decay Elements Eyeshadow Palette ($52 USD) —¬†Inspired by the elements – Air, Earth, Fire and Water – a constellation of unique colors orbit around Luna, an ultra-iridescent transformer shade. The 19 new multidimensional pigments include bright mattes, holographic shimmers and molten metallics. This is gorgeous and I’ve been testing out these shadows. It’s perfect for fall and holiday looks.

Morphe High Impact Highlighter in Extra¬†($14 USD) — At first I wasn’t the biggest fan of this, but I really like it now. The color is gorgeous, it’s a lustrous peachy gold. Just a little goes a long way with this.¬† It’s very intense!

Physicians Formula¬†The Healthy Foundation SPF 20¬†(LC1) —¬†This is full coverage, but it looks natural on. I don’t have the correct shade, I purchased it online and I guessed on the shade.¬† They all looked pretty dark on the Ulta website so I bought the lightest shade.¬† It’s just a bit light for me.¬† I will purchase this again in a darker shade.

Have you tried any of these products?  What are your faves from the month?

Ulta Fall Haul!

IMG_2234

HI all!¬† After Ulta’s 21 Days of beauty, which has a lot of higher end makeup deals, they had their more affordable products on sale in their Fall Haul.¬† I picked up few and got some great deals!

I got:

BH Cosmetics Desert Oasis Р19 Color Shadow & Highlighter Palette

Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Lip Color in Driver

MEMEBOX I Dew Care Mini Meow Trio

Ardell Duo Brush-On Dark Adhesive with Vitamins

Physicians Formula The Healthy Foundation SPF 20 (LC1)

Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly¬†— I got a free¬†deluxe size w/any foundation purchase

IMG_2237

BH Cosmetics Desert Oasis – 19 Color Shadow & Highlighter Palette — Ulta had their BH Cosmetics palettes on sale for 40% off and I had my eye on this one.¬† It was released in the summer, but I think it works as well in the Fall.¬† It has mostly neutral shades with some pops of blue.¬† BH’s shadows are such great quality.¬† This blends so well and the shimmers and metallics are so buttery!¬† I will be reviewing this.

IMG_2244.JPG

MaybellineSuperStay Matte Ink Lip Color in¬†Driver.¬† I’ve been wanting to try this.¬† The shade is pretty, but this is pretty drying on my lips.¬† I usually don’t wear matte liquid lips, but I wanted to try this formula.¬† I can wear it, but I need a gloss on top.

IMG_2241.JPG

MEMEBOX¬†I Dew Care Mini Meow Trio — This is such a cute little peeling mask trio!¬† The masks are all shimmery and are so fun to use.¬† I have tried the purple one because it is meant to be hydrating!¬† It did leave my face moisturized, but also made my pores look smaller!¬† I still have to try the other two, but so far so good!

img_2243.jpg

Ardell Duo Brush-On Dark Adhesive with Vitamins — I haven’t tried this yet, but I picked it up because I have a few sets of lashes, but no glue.¬† I don’t wear lashes, but it I do decide to try them, I have glue!¬† I do have a lash review coming up, so I need to try them out!

img_2238.jpg

Physicians Formula The Healthy Foundation SPF 20¬†(LC1) — I got this foundation on sale and got a free Clinique Hydrating Jelly.

I think I’ll review the foundation, too.¬† So far, I really like it.¬† Since I did purchase online, I guessed on the shade.¬† They all looked pretty dark on the Ulta website so I bought the lightest shade.¬† It’s just a bit light for me.¬† So if I buy it again, I would have to go just a bit darker.

So that’s my fun Fall Haul!¬† I got everything on sale and paid about $40 for all of this and tax. That’s a pretty good deal!¬† Did you pick up anything from the Fall Haul?
