10 in 2020 — Rolling Project Pan First Check In

Hi all!¬† I hope you’re doing well and staying safe!

This year I started with 10 makeup products.¬† My rule this year is once I use one up, I’ll replace it with someone else.¬† In the case of pressed powder products, I will probably keep them to see how far I can pan them this year.¬† Here are the products I first started out with:

IMG-2571

I have close up photos of the powders and stick products.¬† I can’t really tell how much of the liquid products I have, but I’d say they are all half to 3/4 full.

Here’s a group photo of what I am using now:

IMG-3240

So, the three glosses are gone!¬† I used up two of them, the Bite Beauty and Buxom in White Russian.¬† I gave away the Dose of Colors gloss.¬† I just don’t like the formula of that lip gloss.¬† It’s very sticky and full coverage.¬† I like a sheer hydrating gloss.

I replaced them with two Buxom glosses, Dolly Lip Polish and Hot Toddy Lip Creme.¬† And a new product, the Becca Cosmetics Under Eye Brightening Corrector.¬† I started using this pretty much right after I started my project pan, after I got rid of the Dose of Colors gloss.¬† Here’s the photos how it was in the beginning and how it is now:

I had already hit pan, but I made a huge dent in it!  I am hoping to use it up by my end of June check in. If not, for sure in my September check in.

And I am so proud of hitting pan on my butter bronzer!¬† I’ve had this for almost two years and have finally hit pan!¬† I’m hoping to make that pan much bigger by next check in.

I have not used this a lot.  Swirled together, the shade is darker than I am now.  I will be using it more in Summer.

I have used this almost all up!¬† I’m still scraping in the container, but I should be done with this soon!

I have been using this eyebrow pencil almost everyday.¬† I can’t believe it’s not used up yet!¬† I’m going to keep going and hopefully use it up by next check in.

For my other products, I’m about halfway through the beautyblender Selfie Shield primer.¬† I have been using it more.¬† I had to cut open the Leveler primer (in the back) because it wasn’t coming out.¬† I have about an eighth of it left so am almost done with it.

—————————————————————————————————————————————

I think my Project Pan is going pretty well.  I used up three products and should use up a few more by the next check in.  I will replace them with other items since this is a rolling project pan.

Are you doing a Project Pan this year?¬† How’s it going if you are?

10 in 2020 — Rolling Project Pan

Hi all!¬† I’m back with my first Project Pan in a year!¬† I took a year off, but have decided it’s time to use up some makeup.

The Project Pans I did in 2019 were mostly skincare.¬† This year I’m starting with 10 makeup products and once I use one up, I’ll replace it with someone else.¬† In the case of pressed powder products, I will probably keep them to see how far I can pan them this year.¬† Here’s what I’ve chosen to start off with:

IMG-2571

I have close up photos of the powders and stick products.¬† I can’t really tell how much of the liquid products I have, but I’d say they are all half to 3/4 full.

IMG-2551

Here’s the starting photo of my Butter Bronzer.¬† I’ve had this for a year and a half.¬† I use it consistently, and it’s crazy that I haven’t hit pan!¬† I’m hoping to make a big dent in it this year!

IMG-2565

I’ve had this powder foundation for a couple of years.¬† It’s starting to get a little dry, but it still works well.¬† I’m hopefully going to pan it this year and at the end of the year (or sooner), I’ll decide if I want to keep it.

IMG-2630

I purchased this last spring and used it a lot in the spring and summer.¬† I haven’t used it for a few months, but I wore it today and remembered how amazing it makes my skin look!¬† I’m sure I will use it up this year.

IMG-2555

I have been using this pencil since fall, but I thought I had more left in it!¬† It shouldn’t take me long to use this up.

——————————————————————————————————————————–

I’m excited to see how this project pan goes!¬† Hopefully I’ll use up some of my products this year.¬† Also, check out my monthly Shop My Stash results to see my mostly skincare empties.

Are you doing a project pan this year?

Shop My Stash July 2019 Results and Monthly Empties

IMG-1108

Hi All!¬† I’m back with my July Shop My Stash results!¬† I enjoy dipping into my collection and using products I haven’t used in a long time, or just haven’t given much of a chance.

My rule with this is if I don’t like the item after the month, I will move it out of my collection to make some room and let someone else enjoy it!¬†You can check out my first Shop My Stash post for July.

One product is already gone.  The Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Spoon was waaay to glittery for me.  I tried it once and gave it away.

On the other hand, I used the heck out of the Buxom Lip Creams! I wore one with a lip liner almost every day!  I still have a ways to go to use them up, but I want to use them up by the end of the year.  I will be keeping these!

Here’s photos with the palettes open:

IMG-1112

The Maybelline Lemonade Craze palette was my most used palette this month.¬† I forgot how good it is!¬† My favorite shade is Strawberry Lemonade because it is so shimmery dry, but very metallic wet!¬† My least favorite is Main Squeeze because it’s so glittery.¬† I wore it once and had glitter fall out all over my face.¬† I guess you can use a glitter glue with it, but I don’t like to bother with it.

I am definitely keeping this palette because you can make so many different looks with it!

IMG-1110 This is the Alamar Cosmetics Reina Del Caribe Vol.1 Eyeshadow Palette.

I got this last summer.¬† I haven’t used it a lot before this.¬† I used it a few times this months and I like it.¬† The top four shades seem very summery and the bottom four are very fall-ish.¬† The shades I used the most are Coco-taxi and La Costa.¬† When I did use this I paired it with the Lemonade Craze palette.

Since I didn’t reach for it a lot, I don’t know if I will keep it.¬† I might try using it in the fall and see if I use it more.

On to my July Empties:

img-1227.jpg

I think this is the most empties I’ve had for one month!¬† I’m pretty proud that I have used all of these up!

My favorite products here that I will repurchase when needed are the Mamonde rose toner, the Beauty Bakerie powder, the MAC fix+, the Urban Decay All Nighter spray and the L’Oreal Unlimited Length and Lift Mascara.¬† They are all amazing products!

I won’t repurchase the Andalou face wipes or the Colourpop mascara.¬† Neither of these products impressed me. The wipes didn’t really remove all of my makeup and the Colourpop mascara was so thick and goopy.¬† And it made such a mess when I removed it.

The other products were all very good and I may repurchase if I run out of skincare.¬† I have a lot now I am using and testing out, so I shouldn’t have to purchase new skincare for the rest of the year!¬† LOL!¬† I’m getting more in for review, too.

This was a really successful month for my Shop my Stash and for empties. I really used most of the products a bunch and I had a lot of empties.

Do you do a Shop my Stash?¬† How’s it going?

July 2019 Beauty Favorites

Hi all!¬† It’s almost August, which means it’s time for my July favorites!

Below are my beauty faves for July. As usual, If I have reviewed them before, I will include the link, if not, I will link to where you can purchase:

img-1219.jpg

Like last month, I don’t have a lot of color cosmetic favorites.¬† I’ve been really into trying out new skincare.

In my last month’s faves, four of the products were from my June BoxyLuxe.¬†¬†It was such an amazing box! None of these products are from my July subscription boxes.¬† I did like some of my Ipsy Glam Bag Plus this month and¬† couple of Boxycharm products.¬† I am still testing them out, so maybe we’ll see them in my next month’s favorites.

IMG-1220

These have been my favorite skincare this month.¬† Two are from Skin&Co Roma.¬† I reviewed them here. The Whipped Cleansing Cream is amazing!¬† My skin instantly looks smoother after washing.¬† I’ve never had a cleanser improve the appearance of my skin before. I also love the serum.¬† It’s creamy and sinks right into the skin.¬† It also instantly hydrates and I love it!

You can purchase Skin&Co Roma items here, and by using my code LORENA20, you’ll get 20% off your purchase!¬† It is an affiliate code, so I will get something if you do buy!

I also reviewed the DHC Urumai Cream this month.¬† ¬†It’s a beautiful hydrating cream that I love to use at night.¬† It hydrates all night and when I wake up my skin is soft and glowing.

I purchased some The Ordinary skincare from Ulta a few weeks ago.¬† This is my first time trying products from this brand and I am enjoying them!¬† I’m especially loving the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. At first I thought it might be breaking me out, but it wasn’t.¬† It’s very hydrating, but a little sticky, so I apply it after toner and layer on other serums (like the Skin&Co Roma one above) so I don’t have sticky skin when I go to bed.¬† It really helps in hydrating and plumping up my skin.

IMG-1221 These products are a bit more makeup-y.  I purchased the MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ in Creamy Coconut during the Ulta 21 Days of beauty spring sale this year.  I love purchasing staples like sprays. primers and powders during the sale.  This was half off!  I started using it when I ran out of my regular Fix+.  It works the same, it just has a soft coconut scent.

I got the NYX Pore Filler primer last year.¬† I just used up my Cover FX pore filling primer so I’m giving this a go. It works pretty well to fill in my pores.¬† I use a more hydrating primer, then this one in my t-zone.

My favorite recent purchase is the¬†P√úR¬†4-In-1 Love Your Selfie Longwear Foundation & Concealer.¬†I haven’t reviewed this yet, but I might do a review soon.¬† Would you like to see that?¬† I can say that this foundation works so well for me.¬† It is full coverage, but melts into the skin and looks so natural on.¬† The shade I have is LP4.¬† It’s a little light for me now, because I have a bit of a tan, but will work will for fall and winter.

My Buxom Lip Creams are in my Shop My Stash for July.  This is the shade Hot Toddy.  I have been wearing them a lot, especially this shade.  They are so shiny and just a little bit tingley.

IMG-1222IMG-1223

Last but not least is a fun new palette.¬† My friend Angie gave me a gift card to Ulta for my birthday, and I picked this up!¬† It’s the¬† Tarte Unleashed Eyeshadow Palette.¬† I love the shades in these — the names are so fun!¬† And it smells amazing!

Have you tried any of these? What products have you been loving in July?

Shop My Stash — July 2019

IMG-1108

Hi all!¬† It’s July! It’s time for a new month and a new Shop My Stash! I’m always excited to play with new (again to me) products that I either haven’t used in a while or haven’t used much at all! My goal is to get more use out of the products I have and to see if they are something I want to keep.

We are fully into summer now, and I wanted to choose summery products that would be fun to use:

IMG-1109IMG-1110

This is the Alamar Cosmetics Reina Del Caribe Vol.1 Eyeshadow Palette.¬† I received this in a BoxyCharm last year.¬† It’s so pretty, but I haven’t really used it since last summer.¬† Although it does look like a summer palette, the mattes would be nice in the fall, so I need to remember it this year!

img-1112.jpg

This is the Maybelline Lemonade Craze Eyeshadow Palette.¬† This is another palette that I haven’t used since last summer.

I really like this palette.¬† The mattes blend well and the shimmers can be built up and made metallic with a little setting spray. I’m looking forward to playing with it and making pretty summery looks!

IMG-1113

I forgot to take photos of the individual glosses and highlighter.  But here are the swatches.

From left to right is Buxom Full-On Lip Creams in White Russian, Dolly and Hot Toddy.  The highlighter is ColourPop Super Shock Cheek in Spoon.

I love the Buxom lip creams, but I have neglecting them due to receiving new glosses this year.¬† I want to give these some love and since I’ve had them over a year, I would like to start using them up.

The ColourPop highlight is nice, but a little glittery.¬† We’ll see if I like it enough to keep it after the month!

—————————————————————————————-

I’m excited about my Shop My Stash this month!¬† Are you doing a Shop My Stash?

Shop My Stash January 2019 Results and Monthly Empties

IMG_2781

Hi All!¬† Can you believe January is almost over?¬† I’m ready for spring, so I’m okay with it!

I started a monthly Shop My Stash this year. Here is the link to the post from the beginning of the month.  I go over each product with photos.  I also link if I have reviewed them in the past.

I really enjoyed this and tried to use all of these products at least a few times to see how much I like them.¬† It’s fun to focus on products since I have so many (especially Eye shadows).

The products this month were Urban Decay Born to Run Palette, Tartiest Pro Glow Palette. Colourpop You Had Me At Hello Palette, Pretty Vulgar Blush in Hush Blush and two BUXOM Cosmetics PillowPout Creamy Plumping Lip Powder in Cuddle Me (Rose) and Cozy Up (Mauve Nude).

I probably used the Born to Run palette the most, confirming why it was my favorite palette last year (see my 2018 faves here). My challenge was to use other shades than the bronzes.¬† And I did!¬† I tried the blues, gray and purple shades.¬† I’m not a fan of bright pink eyeshadow, but I think I used almost all of the shades.¬† The quality is gorgeous!

I also loved the You Had Me At Hello Palette. It’s a plummy, reddish brown sort of palette with a bunch of beautiful metallic shades. I did a few varied looks with this.

The tarte contour palette and the Pretty Vulgar blush weren’t my favorites. I decided to choose them because I got them both in subscription boxes this year and I never really used them.¬† The contour palette is a bit dark for me, both the contour and the highlighters.¬† My skin is so fair right now that they really don’t show up. The blush is very powdery and so pigmented.¬† It’s too bright for me.¬† I think I am going to hold on to them and try them again in the summer.¬† Or I might just give them away to my daughter!

Th Buxom PillowPouts are really nice.¬† They are creamy, but are matte when applied.¬† I like to wear lip glosses over them. I’ll continue using them!

I also am going to include any empties in this post each month:

IMG_2899.JPG

This month I only had three — The Robin McGraw Revelation Live Life Lifted Neck Cream, Briogeo Don’t Despair Repair Leave in Mask, and Philosophy Purity Made Simple Eye Gel. I’ve been using the skincare since early fall and I got the Briogeo in a subscription box a few months ago.¬† I use neck cream morning and night (and eye cream, too).¬† This neck cream really firmed up my neck area, and the eye cream was super hydrating.¬† I definitely recommend them both.¬† I like the hair mask, but I just got the Briogeo Rosarco one and I like that one a bit better.¬† If you over use this one, hair gets greasy.

So I have chosen my Shop My Stash products for February and will be revealing those soon.¬† I’m enjoying this series so far!¬† Stay tuned!

Shop My Stash — January 2019

Hey all!  I hope your 2019 has started off well!

This year I’m trying something new (again). Last year I did four quarterly Project Pans.¬† This was the first time I’ve tried this and I learned a lot.¬† Especially that skincare is easy to use up if you use it everyday and makeup is not!¬† I have so much color cosmetics that i need to use.

So, this year, I am going to do a Shop My Stash each month. The products I’m going to choose will be color cosmetics that I have forgot about or just want to use more. I probably won’t use anything up, but I need to play with more products in my collection.

I’m not going to choose foundation, concealer or powders.¬† This year I’m going to try to just purchase what I need in base products when I run out.¬† It took me a long time to use them up in my pans last year.

Here are the products I will be focusing on in January:

IMG_2781I’ve chosen two eyeshadow palettes, a sculpting palette, a blush and two shades of the same lip product. Here’s a close up of each product.¬† If I’ve reviewed them before, I’ll include the link.

img_2782img_2783¬†Urban Decay Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette —¬† This was in my favorites of the year.¬† I think it’s the prettiest and most color diverse palette that I bought in 2018.¬† I purchased this in the summer and used it a lot when I first got it, but I haven’t really used it much since.

I usually do a bronzey look with this palette and want to experiment with the blues, greens, purples and pinks!

img_2784img_2786

ColourPop You Had Me At Hello —¬† This is such a pretty plummy-neutral palette.¬† I got it last year around this time and used it, and then put it away.¬† It’s time to give it some love.

I want to experiment with some of the gorgeous metallics and shimmers. I think it will compliment the Born to Run palette, too, if I want to use shades out of both for one use.

img_2789img_2793

tarte tarteist‚ĄĘ PRO glow highlight & contour palette —¬† I received this in a FabFitFun box this summer.¬† I used it a couple of times, but I haven’t really given it a fair chance.

I love the sculpt shade and some of the lighter highlighters.  I think I will get good use out of this!

img_2787img_2788Pretty Vulgar Make Them Blush Powder Blush in Hush Blush — I received this in my March 2018 BoxyCharm.¬† It’s such a pigmented blush that I never really used it.¬† I like sheerer, glowy blushes in the spring and summer.¬† I think it will give my some much needed color in the winter.¬† If I really don’t like it, I’ll pass it on at the end of the month.

img_2794img_2795img_2796

BUXOM Cosmetics PillowPout Creamy Plumping Lip Powder in Cuddle Me (Rose) and Cozy Up (Mauve Nude). I should have swatched these, but they are pretty similar in¬† color.¬† I reviewed the entire collection this summer and really liked them.¬† I’ve been using up glosses in my last Project Pan, so I haven’t been using these. I will probably wear them alone and with a gloss over them.

So there’s the items I am going to try to use this month.¬† I will be posting an update on how it went.¬† I will probably included it when I post my February Shop My Stash so stay tuned!

Have you done a Shop My Stash before? How did it go?

September 2018 Beauty Favorites

IMG_2181.JPG

Hi all!¬† Can you believe it’s the end of September?¬† Tomorrow is October and I am so ready for fall and the holidays!

I’ve had a fun month trying and reviewing some new products, and products that are new to me:

Too Faced¬†Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette ($49 USD) — I purchased this during the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty (haul post to come this week).¬† This is an older palette, but I haven’t tried it yet.¬† This smells like sweet chocolate — it’s so nice! The eye shadows are pigmented with pure, antioxidant-rich cocoa powder and includes 16 matte and shimmer shades of browns, pinks and plums. I’ve really been liking this!

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence ($23 USD) — This is another product I need to review!¬† Klairs is a Korean beauty brand and I was excited to receive this for review! This is light and creamy SPF essence! It has SPF 50 and is formulated for sensitive skin. It has a water-based it gel texture and sinks right into the skin once applied.

YourGoodSkin Balancing Skin Concentrate ($19.99 USD) — This is YourGoodSkin’s hero product. I use this as a serum under my Klairs essence or my night cream.¬† It it so light and absorbs into my skin so quickly.¬† The claim is that it restores and maintains skin’s natural balance for clinically proven visibly healthier skin in just 28 days.¬†For all skin types.¬†Designed to improve the 5 key signs of visibly healthy skin:

Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Face Primer¬†($30 USD) —¬† I received a tiny sample of this in this month’s Ipsy bag and I LOVE it!¬† I have been hoarding it by using a little at a time. It is a creamy pore filler and looks amazing under all of my foundations!

Buxom Cosmetics Full-On Plumping Lip Cream in Hot Toddy ($21 USD) —¬†This is such a beautiful product.¬† This one doesn’t have a shimmer and it is very glossy. It’s plumping, hydrating and so shiny at the same time!¬† And it has a beauty color payoff.¬†

Buxom Cosmetics Lash Volumizing Mascara¬†($22 USD) I have been wearing this mascara for a couple of weeks and am loving it. It’s a¬† volumizing mascara that dramatically defines, lengthens, and instantly lifts for fuller looking, ultra-black lashes minus any clumps. I love it for an every day look, but it can be built up for more drama!

Last but not least is the¬†Natasha Denona¬†Super Glow Highlighter ($38 USD) —¬†This super-soft, lightweight formula melts into the skin. It gives a glass-like strobing effect thanks to its high concentration of crushed and milled chroma crystals mixed with crushed pearls.

I have this in the fair shade, Icy Ivory.¬† It’s so gorgeous!¬† But, it’s not really an every day glow.¬† But I want to use it everyday because the glow looks healthy as well as booming!¬† So I like to brush a little translucent powder on top to tone it down. I kind of want this in¬†Light Medium¬†– nude champagne next.

What products have you been loving this month?

Buxom Cosmetics — Brand Review

Hi all!  I was recently sent some amazing Buxom Cosmetics products for my honest review.  I love trying new makeup and was so excited! I have already reviewed the new PillowPout Creamy Plumping Lip Powders.  You can check that out here.

I put together my favorite products that I received.  Here they are:

img-2112.jpg

From left to right are —SexySmoky Kajal Powder Liner,¬†¬†Buxom Lash Volumizing Mascara,¬†PowerPlump Lip Balm,¬†Divine Goddess Luminizer,¬†Full-On Plumping Lip Cream in White Russian and Hot Toddy,¬†¬†Full-On Plumping Lip Polish in Dolly and¬†Suede Seduction Eyeshadow Palette.

IMG_2120

This eyeliner is a new release for Buxom. It’s an intensely pigmented eyeliner with wet powder, lasting wear technology. Tapered sponge tip applicator creates either a precise line or smoky look. Formula-infused cap reloads color with every twist.

I like this because it’s such a cool idea.¬† It comes in two shades — Sultry Black and Smoldering Brown.¬† I like the brown because I rarely wear black eyeliner.¬† It’s two severe on me.¬† This is very dark, so it does give a dramatic look.¬† It does take a little work to make a nice line, but it looks pretty on!

IMG_2119

I have been wearing this mascara for a couple of weeks and am loving it. It’s a¬† volumizing mascara that dramatically defines, lengthens, and instantly lifts for fuller looking, ultra-black lashes minus any clumps. I love it for an every day look, but it can be built up for more drama!

IMG_2121

Sorry that this is so blurry!¬† You can see the shade though. It’s a¬†plumping and hydrating lip balm that blooms to your custom shade by reacting with the pH level of your lips. This comes in four shades, this one is Glowing, it’s a beautiful mauvey nude shade on me. It has a light plumping effect. The size of this is huge for a balm, but it will last a long time.

IMG_2118

This is a gorgeous lightweight cream luminizer in Venus, a nude glow shade. The formula blends out easily, delivering a sheer, shimmering finish perfect for all skin tones, and feels refreshing on.  I like to use it before I powder my face, it works well under powder highlighter.  And it looks gorgeous on shoulders and decollete.

IMG_2117

The two shades on the left are the plumping lip cream in White Russian (Nude Pink) and Hot Toddy (toasty nude).¬† This is such a beautiful product.¬† This one doesn’t have a shimmer and it is very glossy.¬†A unique peptide and hyaluronic acid booster helps to plumps your pout to new levels, while hyaluronic spheres moisturize and fill. Vitamins A and E provide lasting moisture for soft lips.¬† This feels and looks amazing on!

On the right is the bestselling plumping lip gloss.¬† This is in the color Dolly which is a shimmering mauve.¬† It’s really pretty on and does plump my lips! It is high that boldly plumps the appearance of lips with a tantalizing tingle in a high-shine, shimmering finish.

IMG_2115

This palette has six matte suede eyeshadows.  It contains primer-infused technology to help keep color locked in place.  Shades include:

  • Social Scene (matte mocha)
  • Trendsetter (matte putty)
  • Hot or Yacht (matte ash)
  • Beachfront (matte sand)
  • Invite Only (matte terracotta)
  • Cashmere Craving (matte almond)

This is the first time that I’ve tried Buxom shadows. These are really pretty and are very easy to blend.¬† You can use them alone for a soft or smoky look, or with a metallic shadow or pigment for some shimmer on top.¬† And you can open it and change out the shades. Single shadows are available to be purchased for the compact.

I am really loving these products!  Have you tried anything by Buxom?  What products do you like?
