Shop My Stash May 2019 Results and Monthly Empties

Hi All!  I’m back with my May Shop My Stash results!  I enjoy dipping into my collection and using products I haven’t used in a long time, or just haven’t given much of a chance.

My rule with this is if I don’t like the item after the month, I will move it out of my collection to make some room and let someone else enjoy it!

You can check out my first Shop My Stash post for May. Here’s a photo with the palettes open:

I continued my allergy issues this month, and didn’t wear as much eye makeup as I would have liked to.  So my number one used product was the Smashbox Cali Contour palette!

I love this palette!  Especially the bronzer and powder shades.  I also used the lighter highlight and the blush a lot.  This is such a great product to complete my face makeup.  If I take a trip this year, I’ll take it with me!

Towards the end of the month, my allergies are getting better.  So I did get to wear my eyeshadows.  I would say I wore the BH Festival palette the most.  It has such a variety of colors and I was able to create colorful looks and neutral looks with it.  I also used most of the shades on the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Vault Armed and Gorgeous palette.  It’s a nice palette, but the metallics aren’t as buttery as the BH Cosmetics ones.  I am going to keep all three of these palettes.

I didn’t wear the lipstick or eyeliner as much as the other products.  I found that I didn’t care for the lipstick.  I don’t wear this type of shade that much and it kind of feels drying on my lips.  I am going to re-home it.  The eyeliner is a great formula, but I don’t wear eyeliner that often.  I am going to keep it, though.  It’s such a pretty shade.

This was a pretty successful month!

On to my May empties:

IMG_0875I had a lot of empties this month!  I used up makeup wipes by IT Cosmetics and Ariul, a Korean Beauty brand I found at CVS.  They were both nice.  I used them mostly for removing swatches. I might purchase them again.  I actually think I might to a K Beauty haul this summer at CVS and maybe Ulta.

The Merle Norman cleanser is like a scrub.  It is such a nice exfoliator.  I have a lot of cleansers in my stash, but I might repurchase this eventually.

Same with the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream.  I might re-purchase it once I go through the creams that I have.  It’s so hydrating!  The Your Good Skin day cream was oily on my skin, so I won’t re-purchase it.

I loved the Nanacoco Outlash mascara!  I have a bunch of new mascaras waiting to be used, but I would buy this again.

I love the Jergens Wet Skin gradual tanner.  I need to either pick this up or the original formula.    The C.O. Bigelow body wash was nice, but I don’t know if I will pick it up again.

Are you doing a Shop Your Stash or Project Pan this year?  How’s it going?

September 2018 Beauty Favorites

Hi all!  Can you believe it’s the end of September?  Tomorrow is October and I am so ready for fall and the holidays!

I’ve had a fun month trying and reviewing some new products, and products that are new to me:

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette ($49 USD) — I purchased this during the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty (haul post to come this week).  This is an older palette, but I haven’t tried it yet.  This smells like sweet chocolate — it’s so nice! The eye shadows are pigmented with pure, antioxidant-rich cocoa powder and includes 16 matte and shimmer shades of browns, pinks and plums. I’ve really been liking this!

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence ($23 USD) — This is another product I need to review!  Klairs is a Korean beauty brand and I was excited to receive this for review! This is light and creamy SPF essence! It has SPF 50 and is formulated for sensitive skin. It has a water-based it gel texture and sinks right into the skin once applied.

YourGoodSkin Balancing Skin Concentrate ($19.99 USD) — This is YourGoodSkin’s hero product. I use this as a serum under my Klairs essence or my night cream.  It it so light and absorbs into my skin so quickly.  The claim is that it restores and maintains skin’s natural balance for clinically proven visibly healthier skin in just 28 days. For all skin types. Designed to improve the 5 key signs of visibly healthy skin:

Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Face Primer ($30 USD) —  I received a tiny sample of this in this month’s Ipsy bag and I LOVE it!  I have been hoarding it by using a little at a time. It is a creamy pore filler and looks amazing under all of my foundations!

Buxom Cosmetics Full-On Plumping Lip Cream in Hot Toddy ($21 USD) — This is such a beautiful product.  This one doesn’t have a shimmer and it is very glossy. It’s plumping, hydrating and so shiny at the same time!  And it has a beauty color payoff.

Buxom Cosmetics Lash Volumizing Mascara ($22 USD) I have been wearing this mascara for a couple of weeks and am loving it. It’s a  volumizing mascara that dramatically defines, lengthens, and instantly lifts for fuller looking, ultra-black lashes minus any clumps. I love it for an every day look, but it can be built up for more drama!

Last but not least is the Natasha Denona Super Glow Highlighter ($38 USD) — This super-soft, lightweight formula melts into the skin. It gives a glass-like strobing effect thanks to its high concentration of crushed and milled chroma crystals mixed with crushed pearls.

I have this in the fair shade, Icy Ivory.  It’s so gorgeous!  But, it’s not really an every day glow.  But I want to use it everyday because the glow looks healthy as well as booming!  So I like to brush a little translucent powder on top to tone it down. I kind of want this in Light Medium – nude champagne next.

Get Great Skin With YourGoodSkin!

Hi all! I’m so excited to be reviewing YourGoodSkin!  It is a fairly new skincare range developed by a team of leading dermatologists to restore skin’s natural balance. Powered by a unique antioxidant complex of Green Tea and Vitamin C, it gently works to visibly improve skin’s health in just 28 days.  It claims to help with oiliness, dryness, texture, tone and radiance. YourGoodSkin is now at Ulta and

I was sent the following products for my honest review:

Anti-Oxidant Day Cream SPF 30 ($12.99 USD) — I like to use a day moisturizer that has  SPF so I don’t have to use two products. I do have a hard time finding one that isn’t too heavy. This cream sinks into my skin quickly and is pretty light.  I apply it over the Balancing Skin Concentrate in the morning.  Primer and foundation layer nicely over it. This product will work well all year long.

Balancing Skin Concentrate ($19.99 USD) — This is YourGoodSkin’s hero product. The claim is that it restores and maintains skin’s natural balance for clinically proven visibly healthier skin in just 28 days. For all skin types. Designed to improve the 5 key signs of visibly healthy skin:

  • Skin texture
  • Moisture levels
  • Oiliness
  • Skin tone evenness
  • Radiance

I’ve tried this before and really like it!  It’s a light cream serum that absorbs quickly and leaves my skin very soft! My skin is combination and this glides evenly over my oily and dry areas of my skin. I’ve notices that my skin texture and tone look more even with use.

Soothing Micellar Cleanser ($7.49 USD) — I love micellar cleanser if it isn’t oily or heavy.  Luckily, this one is light and cleanses so well! Micelles gently trap & lift make-up, excess oil & daily impurities. This removes my makeup easily without leaving a residue.

Moisturizing Make-Up Remover Wipes ($7.49 USD) —  super-soft and gently clear away make-up and daily impurities. Skin looks healthy and feels instantly fresh. For comforted radiant skin. I like to use this before the Micellar Cleanser.  They are also nice to take on trips.  The wipes are very hydrating, so this probably isn’t the best product for oily skin.

Comforting Gel Cleanser ($7.49 USD) — This transforming gel gently melts away make-up, excess oil & daily impurities. I like using this cleanser in the morning for a fresh face at the start of the day.  It also works well for removing stubborn makeup.I like how it cleans without drying out my skin.

Have you heard of this brand or even tried YourGoodSkin? What do you think?

My Beauty Favorites — Week of October 16-22, 2017

It’s been cooler this week, so it finally is starting to feel like Fall!

This week, I am loving skincare products that are helping me transition into the cooler weather.  They include amazing cleansers, serums and a great new drugstore brand.  I was sent these fabulous products for my honest review:

The original EVE LOM cleanser ($80 USD) was the first of its kind, putting balm cleansers on the map. With a more in-dept, spa-like application process, this cleanser gives your skin a luxurious experience, removing all dirt and makeup residue, calming your skin down and allowing it to breathe.

EVE LOM Morning Time Cleanser ($60 USD) wakes your skin up and acts as the perfect base for your daily makeup. Achieve the same radiant, glowing complexion as the award-winning original cleanser, now in a quick, rinse-off formula. No muslin cloth needed.

EVE LOM Gel Balm Cleanser ($60 USD) is the latest addition to the cleanse collection. The same benefits as the original cleanser, and the Morning Time Cleanser, now in a new gel-to-balm formula, easily dispensed out of a pump bottle.

What I think:  These Eve Lom cleansers are so luxe, and they really clean without leaving my skin dry.  The original, is like a spa product, and it includes a muslin cloth to remove dirt and makeup.  Even though it really cleanses well, it doesn’t irritate sensitive skin!  The Morning Time cleanser is easy to use and the Gel Balm comes in a nice pump and really hydrates the skin!

Available at Sephora and other high end beauty stores.

SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Vitamin C Serum

SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Vitamin C Serum ($165 USD) –A daytime vitamin C serum that delivers advanced environmental protection and improves the appearance of lines and wrinkles, loss of firmness, and brightens skin’s complexion. Featuring a synergistic antioxidant combination of 15% pure vitamin C, 1% vitamin E, and 0.5% ferulic acid to enhance protection against environmental damage caused by free radicals that can contribute to atmospheric aging. This vitamin C serum helps neutralize free radicals induced by UVA/UVB, infrared radiation, and ozone pollution, which may lead to visible signs of accelerated skin aging. *Paraben-free and ideal for normal, dry, and sensitive skin types.

What I think: This is an amazing serum!  This is a morning serum that fights free radicals from daily sun exposure.  Plus, it works really well under makeup.  And I love that it doesn’t irritate sensitive skin. With continued use, I can see improvement of my wrinkles and the firmness of my skin.  Awesome!

YourGoodSkin SPF30 Anti-Oxidant Day Cream ($12.99 USD) — This SPF30 Anti-Oxidant Day Cream defends & cares for skin, helping protect it from the environment. Skin looks healthy & feels balanced all day.

What I think: I’ve been trying out these and am enjoying them.  The face wash has a light citrus scent.  It cleanses well and leaves my face feeling so fresh and hydrated. The concentrate works like a serum under my moisturizer.    And the day cream does smell like SPF, but I love that it protects my skin!  I’m going to keep using these, but so far I love that we can get affordable, effective skincare at the drugstore!
