Shop My Stash June 2019 Results and Monthly Empties

IMG_E0886

Hi All!¬† I’m back with my JuneShop My Stash results!¬† I enjoy dipping into my collection and using products I haven’t used in a long time, or just haven’t given much of a chance.

My rule with this is if I don’t like the item after the month, I will move it out of my collection to make some room and let someone else enjoy it!

You can check out my first Shop My Stash post for June. Here’s a photo with the palettes open:

My allergies were much better in June, so I have been wearing eye makeup again!  My most used of the two palettes was the ABH Soft Glam. Every time I use it I remember how gorgeous it is!  They blend so well.

I also used the Too Faced Festival palette a few times.  I love the peaches and purple shades.  I also wore the green shade a lot. The shimmer shades in the palette are so pretty!

It’s sad to say that I only used the ColourPop The Twins pigment once — on my birthday!¬† I usually like to use palettes for complete looks.¬† It is very pretty though.

The PixiGlow palette got lots of use.  I used it for bronzer, blush and highlight by dipping into the corresponding parts of it.

I am keeping all of these products except for the ColourPop So Juicy lip gloss.¬† It is so sticky, that I don’t really enjoy using it.¬† I’ll see if my daughter wants it.

On to my June empties:

unnamed

I had a lot of empties this month!  Mostly skincare, as always! I enjoyed all of these products.

I would repurchase every one of these products except for maybe the CO Bigelow hand soap, because it was very creamy and hard to rinse off.  I loved all of the other products!

The CoverFX primer filled my pores completely.  Another favorite would be the GM Collin serum, it is so hydrating.

This was a successful Shop My Stash!  I used all of the products at least once, and enjoyed discovering them again!

Shop My Stash April 2019 Results and Monthly Empties

IMG_0349

Hi All!¬† I’m back with my April Shop My Stash results!¬† I enjoy dipping into my collection and using products I haven’t used in a long time, or just haven’t given much of a chance.

My rule with this is if I don’t like the item after the month, I will move it out of my collection to make some room and let someone else enjoy it!

You can check out my first Shop My Stash post for April. Here’s a photo with the palettes open:

IMG_0350

As I’ve been saying this week, I’ve been suffering severe allergies in April, so I didn’t wear as much makeup as I had hoped.¬† I do have to say that when I did do my makeup, I tried to use the Violet Voss Holy Grail palette and the Cover FX face palette.¬† They were my most used this month.

The Violet Voss palette is so beautiful!¬† It’s perfect for warm toned, neutral looks.¬† I mostly used the browns and bronzes and really loved them.¬† I tried to dip into most of the shades.¬† I will definitely be keeping this beauty!

The Cover FX All in One Perfector Face Palette is really nice.  I love bronzing and contouring with the same powder, but this contour is too cool for me to do that.  So I just used it in the hollows of my cheeks and my nose.  I had to use a different bronzer for the rest of my face.  The blush is nice, but a bit too bright for me.  I did really love the highlighters, brightener and finishing powder.  I will keep this and probably use it more in the summer.

The Rimmel London MAGNIF’EYES Eyeshadow Palette in Electric Violet is so pretty.¬† The mattes are very easy to blend.¬† The shimmers are nice, but you need to wet them to get any metallic payoff. My favorite shade is the second from the left.¬† It’s a nice transition shade.¬† I also love the lighter purple shimmers.¬† I didn’t use this too much, but I did get a chance to try most of the shades.¬† I will keep this because of the few shades I love. I also have a few of these palettes and am starting a little collection of them!

The bareMineral Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer in Can’t Even and Bae are such great spring colors.¬† They are a bit sticky, which I didn’t realize before.¬† I will continue to use them because I like the shades, but I don’t know if I would purchase more.

So I’m keeping everything!¬† What a successful month!

It’s on to my April Empties:

IMG_0636

I had six this month!¬† I think this is the most I’ve had this year.¬† Last year I did Project Pan’s instead of Shop My Stash, and I definitely haven’t been going through as many products this year.¬† But I’m proud of myself this month.¬† And I hopefully will have as many next month, too.

Of course, it’s mostly skincare.¬† I used up the H2O+ Elements Jelly Cleanser, The Higher Education Easy A Gentle Resurfacing Pads, The Reclaim Botanical Radiant Recovery Smooth Skin Scrub and the Radiant Recovery Day Cream, Pixi Beauty Rose Ceramide Cream, and the Tarte Maneater Mascara. I liked all of these, but the one I would probably repurchase is the Pixi Rose Ceramide Cream.¬† It’s so gentle and hydrating!¬† But I have lots of skincare to go through before I purchase anything new!

Shop My Stash — April 2019

IMG_0349

Hi all! It’s time for my April Shop My Stash!¬† I love the beginning of the month when I choose new products from my stash to use.¬† My goal is to get more use out of the products I have and to see if they are something I want to keep.

img_0350.jpg

I think my choices for April are so pretty!  And they all look new, so I need to give them some love and mess them up a bit!

Here are close ups of the products:

IMG_0356IMG_0355

I received this Violet Voss Pro HG palette in my December BoxyLuxe — and it’s really gorgeous!¬† I have only used it a few times, so I am excited to focus more on it this month.¬† I will be able to do neutral brown looks and more warm/coral looks for spring.¬† The metallics in these are gorgeous!¬† I haven’t reviewed it yet — and I will try to do it this month.¬† I say that every month with my palettes, and haven’t done it yet, but hopefully soon I will start reviewing my palettes!

IMG_0354IMG_0353¬†This is the Rimmel London¬†MAGNIF’EYES Eyeshadow Palette in Electric Violet.¬† It is so pretty!¬† I have been choosing more neutral palettes so far this year in my Shop My Stashes, so I decided I needed a colorful one in this month!¬† I’m going to try to add a palette with color through spring and summer — it’s definitely the season for fun eye looks!¬† I haven’t played with this one yet, but it swatches so nicely, so I’m excited! And, I love purple!

IMG_0352IMG_0351

I received this CoverFX All in One Perfector Face Palette in my March BoxyLuxe.  I love that it takes care of my face color cosmetics in just one palette.  This will be nice if I travel this year, too.  This is the lighter palette and it works perfectly for my skin tone.

IMG_0357IMG_0358

These are the BareMinerals Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer in Can’t Even and Bae.¬† This is a high gloss liquid lipstick.¬† I received these lasts fall for review, and I thought these would be perfect in spring.¬† And they are!¬† I’m excited to wear them alone, over a lip liner or over a lipstick.

I am so excited to play with these product! Have you tried any of them? What do you think of them?

BoxyCharm BoxyLuxe Subscription Box Review — March 2019

img_0087.jpg

Hey all! I received my second BoxyLuxe yesterday!¬† I’m so excited! I’ve been a subscriber of BoxyCharm for over a year. The regular BoxyCharm box is $21 a month.¬†BoxyLuxe is a¬†once-a-quarter¬†upgrade option you can add to your existing $21-a-month Boxycharm subscription. So for an additional $28.99, you‚Äôll get the Luxe items, and be paying a total of $49.99 for that quarterly box.

I really enjoyed my December box.¬† You can see that review here.¬† I saw the spoilers for this box, I just didn’t know what variations I would get.

The theme for this month is La Vie En Rose.¬† Here’s what I received:

IMG_0091

IMG_0109.JPG

I have tried this cream before.¬† It’s very nice, especially as a night cream.¬† It’s extremely hydrating without being greasy.¬† And my skin always looks beautiful the next morning after use. This is a great product to get in the box!

IMG_0116.JPG

These Moda Brushes are gorgeous.¬† And they are really soft.¬† They can be used for face powder, highlighter, bronzer — whatever I need them for.¬† I love getting nice brushes in boxes, so I will definitely use these!

IMG_0101¬†I have tried a few things from Wander Beauty, but I haven’t tried this mask.¬† I actually think they created this Rose Gold peel off mask for BoxyCharm. I’m excited to try this!¬† I’ll test it out this weekend.

IMG_0108

I knew I was getting a Becca Lipstick and was very excited.¬† But, I got the shade Chocolate — and it’s almost spring. I usually only wear nudes or lighter pinks, so this will not be used.¬† And, it’s disappointing because I wanted to try the formula, but I don’t want to use it just one.¬† I will give it away or sell it.

IMG_0098

This is the Cover FX palette.¬† This was created for BoxyCharm.¬† This is the Light-Medium shade.¬† There is also a Medium-Deep I believe. This is my favorite item in the box from my first impressions.¬† The packaging may not look like it, but it’s really good quality and it has a nice mirror.¬† The shades are all perfect for my light skin.¬† But…

Speaking of skin tone, BoxyCharm make an announcement that everyone should fill out the profile questionnaire so that we will get the correct shade for our skin tone.¬† But, I guess that they sent the incorrect shades to a lot of subscribers.¬† They did apologize, but they aren’t sending out a new palette, they gave the subscribers charms instead.¬† So hmmm. I’ll talk more about this at the end of the blog.

IMG_0094IMG_0095¬†So, this is the Morphe Day Slayer palette.¬† There were four different palette variations.¬† These others had purples, corals and pinks.¬† This one has oranges and browns.¬† It was the one I didn’t want because it reminds me of fall and it’s almost spring.

I will either keep this until fall and then try it out or give it away.

IMG_0105IMG_0106

These Deborah Lippman polishes look really pretty. The one on the left is Oh Donna, a sparkly rosy mauve and the one on the right is Modern Love, a classic mauve creme. I am going to use these, maybe even together, this weekend.

IMG_0100.JPG

These are very pretty, but I don’t wear false lashes.¬† So I might add these to my Instagram giveaway I’m doing when I hit 5000 followers (follow me @fortyflirtyfab to see that giveaway later, and my fun posts now!).

IMG_0102IMG_0104

I haven’t tried Iconic before, but they are a luxe brand. I am trying out some new brow products, so I don’t know if I’m going to keep this.¬† That’s why I’ve kept the seal on it.¬† I love brow pencils, but I’m sure this is nice. The color is Medium, but I’ve seen some photos and it looks pretty dark.¬† My brows are almost black, so it would be fine for me.

I just realized that I forgot to take a photo of the bag alone. You can kind of see it in the first photo.¬† It’s too lake to take one now, but I might tomorrow and if I do, I will put it here.¬† It is a really pretty train case style bag.

So that is a lot of products, whew! The total is $301.98 which is pretty great for spending $49.99.¬† I think this is a really good deal, if you don’t mind not knowing if you will enjoy the variations you get.¬† I’m glad I got the correct face palette, but I’m not going to use the lipstick or probably the eye shadow palette.¬† And I think it stinks that many subscribers can’t use their face palette (or not use it as intended.¬† It can probably be used for eyeshadows).

I will keep and enjoy the face palette, the brushes, the mask, polishes, train case and maybe the face cream.¬† I have so many right now, I don’t know if I will keep it.¬† The other products I will either giveaway or sell.

I have so much makeup and skincare right now, and I am also getting Ipsy Glam Bag Plus soon.¬† So, I think I’m going to give both of the subscriptions until June (which will give me one more month of BoxyLuxe, plus it’s my birthday month) and then I will choose which one to keep.¬† These are my only current subscription boxes, but I don’t really think I need both. But we will see…

Do you get BoxyLuxe or BoxyCharm?   What were your variations this month?

2018 Annual Beauty Favorites

Happy New Year!  I am so excited to get 2019 started.

I haven’t done a monthly favorites since October — the end of the year has been so crazy!¬† But I want to look back on a few of my favorites for 2018. I’ve chosen my favorite makeup in each category I use — and a skincare favorite or two.

Even though I am just picking one (or so) from each category, I needed two photos to capture my faves.  And I am going in order of application:

IMG_2769

The two skincare products I’ve chosen are the Derma E Firming DMAE Cleanser and the Elemis¬†Pro-Collagen Marine Cream.¬† I featured the Derma E Cleanser in my most recent Project Pan.¬† I was proud that I panned it, but I’m also sad that I’m all out!¬† It really cleanses the skin without drying it out.¬† And it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin.¬† I just started using the Elemis cream.¬† It is so beautiful!¬† I started out using it morning and night, but I’m almost out, so I only use it in the morning.¬† It’s so nice under makeup.¬† It’s smooths and hydrates my skin and my makeup applies smoother.

I then like to spritz some Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water. I discovered it this year and really like using it before pore filling primer.¬† My favorite has been the Cover FX Blurring Primer.¬† I’m almost out of it, but I love how well it fills in my pores.¬† I received it in BoxyCharm and am very impressed bye it. I want to try more primers from Cover FX this year.¬† I next like to apply BECCA¬†Under Eye Brightening Corrector before I apply foundation and concealer.¬† It instantly makes my dark circles look lighter.

My favorite foundation this year is the Physician’s Formula The Healthy Foundation. I have it in the shade LC1. It’s a bit light for me, except for this time of year.¬† I will probably purchase it in a darker shade for the spring and summer.¬† It has a natural medium coverage finish which is exactly what I like in a foundation. I have used up a¬†Flower Beauty Light Illusion Concealer¬†and am working on a second one now that I found in my drawer.¬† I think the first one I used was in Fair and this one is in Light, but they are both so beautiful on.¬† It’s full coverage but looks very natural. I just panned the Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder in 10 Fair Light.¬† I have been using it for most of 2018. It sets the face so nicely and gives a hint of color.

IMG_2771IMG_2773

After I apply my foundation and powder, I bronze with the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer.¬† I purchased this in the spring and have been using it all year! It applies smoothly and blends out so well.¬† And the smell is divine! The Natasha Denona Super Glow Highlighter in #1 Fair is one of my favorites of the year.¬† I purchased this when I was trying to buy the Anastasia Amrezy¬†Highlighter earlier in the year, but it was sold out.¬† (I have recently purchased it and will be reviewing it soon). The Natasha highlighter is very blinding, but can be toned down with a little powder.

Speaking of Anastasia, I purchased a¬†Blush Trio in Peachy Love earlier this year at an Ulta sale. I love mixing the first and third color to brighten up my light skin.¬† I also love the bareMinerals¬†Gen Nude Powder Blush in On the Mauve for cooler toned looks. To finish off face products, I want to mention the Urban Decay setting sprays, especially the¬†Chill Cooling and Hydrating Makeup Setting Spray.¬† I used it up this fall and don’t have the bottle, but it was my summer setting spray.¬† It feels so nice on and¬† my makeup lasts all day.

For eye shadow this year, my favorite is the Urban Decay¬†Born To Run Eyeshadow Palette.¬† I love the quality and the variety of colors. My honorable mention is one I just received in my BoxyLuxe, the Violet Voss Holy Grail PRO Eyeshadow Palette.¬† I don’t know when this was released, but it’s new to me! I still need to review it, but spoiler alert, it’s gorgeous!

I have short, sparse lashes so although mascara helps, my lashes never looked amazing until I started using the L’Oreal¬†Voluminous Lash Primer under my mascara.¬† I received a small sample in an Ulta order in Spring and I purchased a full size.¬† I think it’s time to get another one, because I don’t want to be without!¬† The¬†Buxom Lash Mascara works perfectly over it and my lashes look long and lush, almost like I’m wearing falsies!

Although my lashes are sparse, my brows are dark and full.¬† As I age, they are finally thinning out and I have started to fill them in.¬† I received the L.A. Girl Shady Slim Brow Pencil as a free gift the same time I received the L’Oreal lash primer.¬† The words have rubbed off, so I’m not even sure what the shade is.¬† I think it’s Blackest Brown.¬† Whatever it is, it’s perfect for me!¬† It’s very thin and easy to draw on brow hairs.¬† And it has a nice spooly on the end.¬† I’ts only $5.99 so I will be purchasing¬† new one once I run out.

And lastly is lips.¬† I am sooooo glad that gloss made a comeback this year!¬† Light rosy and nude glosses are my favorites.¬† I love a lot — Buxom, Lorac, Dose of Colors — but my favorite is the Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow.¬† It’s a beautiful nude-rose shade and is really hydrating, not sticky at all.¬† My favorite lipstick is the Lipstick Queen¬†Nothing But the Nudes in Nothing But The Truth.¬† I also love The Truth and The Whole Truth.¬† These are the original three in the collection, but there are now 6 more nude shades and I want them!¬† These lipsticks are creamy and hydrating on.¬† So nice if you like nude lipsticks!

Whew!  That was a long post!  What did you love this year?  Any winners I should check out?

BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review — November 2018

IMG_2482

Hi all! I received my November BoxyCharm! I see the spoilers each month, so I basically knew what I was getting. I’ve been subscribed to BoxyCharm for over a year.

Boxycharm is just $21 a month for 5-6 beauty items, most of them full-sized.  It is a nice  way to try new makeup and beauty tools.

This month I received:

IMG_2480.JPG

I went out of town this weekend and came back a couple of days ago, and for some reason I didn’t do individual shots of the products like I usually do before I left.¬† But, here is the eyeshadow palette and the Cover FX drops:

IMG-2563

This palette is so pretty!¬† I love the mix of mattes and shimmers.¬† This will make a really bold eye.¬† I haven’t tried it because I’m not sure if I’m going to keep it.¬† I just got the Bobbi Brown Infra-red palette, and the shades are similar.¬† I think this will make a nice gift for someone.

IMG-2562

This is a new shade of the Cover FX Glitter Drops.¬† It is a limited edition coppery-gold shade, exclusive for the holiday season. Ultra-concentrated drops of golden glitter that impart a high impact, light- reflective finish. It’s cool that they included a new shade of a popular product.¬† I won’t use this, so I’ll probably give it away.

For the other three products, I have already used and love the brushes. The are small detail brushes, and I have been needing some.¬† Luxie brushes are always such great quality.¬†I won’t use the lashes or the eyeliner, so I will be giving them away.

So this wasn’t the best month for items I’ll use, but I did get a bunch of gifts from it, so it is a win! I have so much makeup that I really don’t need to be getting this, but it is just so much fun!¬† And for $21, it’s such a great deal!

And next month I should be getting BoxyLuxe.¬† I’m so excited, it looks like an amazing box!

Do you get BoxyCharm?  What did you get this month?

BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review — May 2018

IMG_1037

My May BoxyCharm arrived a few days ago.¬† It came much earlier this month.¬† I’m always excited to receive it!

Boxycharm is just $21 a month for 5-6 beauty items, most of them full-sized.¬† It’s an amazing way to try new makeup and beauty tools!

Here is what I received:

IMG_1042

Pur Cosmetics Sculptor Highlight & Contour Palette ($30 USD)

Aesthetica Cosmetics Pro Brush Series: 3-Piece Eyeliner, Brow & Spoolie Brush Set ($45 USD)

Aesthetica Cosmetics Brush P12 Brush ($27 USD)

CoverFX Blurring Primer ($38 USD)

Pretty Vulgar The Ink Gel Eyeliner ($24 USD)

Beauty Creations Matte Lip Gloss in Sweet Heart ($10 USD)

The value of this box is amazing — $170!¬† It’s BoxyCharm’s 5th birthday and they really gave a high value box!

IMG_1051IMG_1052

This Pur Cosmetics contour palette is so nice!¬† It smells like chocolate, which is fun.¬† I did swatch this (all swatches are below), but then gave it to my daughter.¬† I didn’t keep it because the contour is way too dark for me, and I have plenty of highlighters.¬† It did swatch nicely though.

I really like the brand Pur Cosmetics.  And I have a review of some of their new products coming soon!

img_1044.jpg¬† We get brushes in almost every BoxyCharm.¬† I don’t use all of them, but I will use these.¬† The P12 is so soft, and is nice for bronzing or blush. I’ve haven’t played with the eye trio yet, but I will.¬† I am excited to try them with the new liner!

img_1049.jpg

This Cover FX primer is my favorite item in the box, and is worth getting this box!¬† It has a light tint and is dimethicone based.¬† It claims to “blurs the appearance of pores, fine lines, and other imperfections for ultra-smooth airbrushed skin.”

A little of this goes a long way.¬† It does blur my pores and makes them appear smaller.¬† It’s really nice under my Flower Beauty Light Illusion foundation!

IMG_1047.JPG¬†This little ink pot liner is so cute!¬† And it holds a lot of product!¬† ¬†I have swatched it and it glides on very easily.¬† I am going to play with it soon on my eyes.¬† I usually don’t wear black eyeliner, but it’s fun for going out. Plus, the pot is too cute not to keep out on display.

IMG_1050

I have’t tried anything from Beauty Creations before.¬† This is called a Matte Lip Gloss in the shade Sweet Heart.¬† But, it’s basically a liquid lipstick.¬† This color is too bright for me, so I gave it to my daughter.

Here are the swatches:

IMG_1056.JPG

From left to right, the eyeliner, the matte lip gloss, and the Pur contour palette.

So this month was a win for me for the primer alone.¬† I am really loving it.¬† I will also use the brushes and I’ll try the eyeliner.¬† I gave the lipstick and contour palette to my daughter who will love it.¬† So it is a successful box for me!

There are already a couple of spoilers for the June box.¬† We’ll get the colorful¬†Alamar Cosmetics¬†eye shadow palette and a Sol de Janiero product. I’m excited for both!

Do you get BoxyCharm?  What was your favorite product this month?

BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review ‚Äď February 2018

IMG_0134

I just received my BoxyCharm February 2018 box a couple of days ago, and I wanted to share it with you.  I really like this subscription.  You get a lot of makeup for a great price!

Boxycharm is just $21 a month for 5-6 beauty items, most of them full-sized.

Here’s what I got this month:

IMG_0405

img_0412.jpg

This was a variant item.  Subscribers either receive this palette with the blush or Naked Cosmetics Highlighter Palette.

I wanted the highlighter palette.¬† I’m not the biggest fan of variations because I always seem to get the item I don’t want, LOL!

The blush included with this is Winter Rose Glow, a warm brown with subtle shimmer.¬†It’s not really a shade I would wear.

The palette itself is fine, I guess.¬† It’s a little flimsy, and I don’t have anything to put in it.¬† But I might use it some day.

img_0410.jpg¬†Besides the highlight palette I didn’t receive, this is the item I was most excited about.¬† It’s a really pretty lavender color.¬† It is buildable too.¬† With two layers I got a really shimmery look and ot stays all day.

IMG_0411

The brushes are very soft and have a nice indent in them to make them easier to handle.

They are meant to be used for contouring — the smaller one can be used for concealer, the middle one contouring and the larger one for powder.¬† I’m looking forward to using them and seeing how they work.

IMG_0415

This exfoliator is a surprise win to me!  It not only exfoliates my lips, it hydrates them too.  It has a nice fruity taste, too.

IMG_0408¬†I don’t usually wear black eyeliner, but this is really pigmented and glides on smoothly.

All in all, this is a pretty good box.¬† I can see myself using the Cover FX Shimmer Veil, the brushes and the exfoliator.¬† I will probably keep the eye pencil in case I want to wear black eyeliner.¬† I don’t know what I will do with the Ofra palette.¬† I might purchase some shadows to put in it.

Do you get BoxyCharm?  Which products did you get in yours this month.

My Beauty Favorites of 2017

I’ve been looking back at my favorite and most used beauty products — new discoveries.¬† I have noticed that all above are makeup and not skincare.¬† This is curious, since I am a 40-something blogger who loves trying anti-aging products.¬† I guess I didn’t really find anything amazing in skin care last year. This year I’m going to focus more on finding and using (I get lazy) anti-aging skin care, plus using up the ones I have.¬† Tomorrow will be the start of my first Project Pan, skin care exclusive!

But today, I am reflecting on the gorgeous makeup above, some I use every day:

Ofra¬†Beverly Hills Highlighter ($40 USD) — I was sent a bunch of amazing Ofra products for review in August (see review here).¬†I love a lot of it, but this is the product that I use most often.¬† I love that there are 5 shades, I can blend them together or use one or two on their own.¬† The two largest pans, a soft gold and rose gold are my favorites and I love using them together.¬† This is the product that really got me interested in highlighters and I use it more because it this one!

IT Cosmetics¬†Bye Bye Under Eye Concealing Pot ($28 USD) — I received this and the foundation for review (here).¬† I use both products almost every day.¬† I love this because it is so creamy.¬† I use it under my eye, but also all over the face.¬† It’s great for covering redness.¬† I’ve recently bought a new concealer with a drier texture for under my eye (so it will stay put), but I will continue to use this to cover rednes.

LORAC Pirates of The Caribbean Mod Lip Cream Duo ($26, on sale for $13) —¬†¬†I received a bunch of these this year.¬† Although I announced it on my blog here, I only reviewed the eye shadow palette.¬† On one end is a creamy lipstick and the other end is a natural looking lip gloss, not too shiny or sticky.¬† These are gorgeous alone or layered.¬† The shade in the photo is Risk it All.

LORAC Disney Beauty and The Beast Cheek Palette ($28 USD) — I love this whole collection.¬† I use the eye shadow and the lip glosses a lot.¬† ¬†This has four gorgeous colors that can be used separately or blended together.¬† There are also mattes and shimmers for a variety of looks.¬† So pretty!

Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette ($27 USD) —¬† I purchased this on Black Friday because I had been wanting to try it since it came out.¬† It’s tiny, but the pan sizes are nice, they take up the whole palette, no unused space.¬† They shades are so pretty and I can make a few different looks with them.¬† This is one I can take with my on trips because it’s so portable. You can see my review here.

COVER FX¬†Illuminating Setting Spray ($31 USD) – I received this in my November BoxyCharm.¬† I have really just started using setting sprays this year and was really excited to try this one.¬† It has been working so well for me in the cold weather.¬† My skin has been dry and a bit dull.¬† This spray gives my skin hydration and nice dewy skin.¬† It’s not greasy on me at all, but I will probably use a matte spray in hot weather.¬† Plus, it keeps my makeup fresh all day!¬† ¬†¬†

BENEFIT COSMETICS¬†Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara ($24 USD) — I purchased this during Ulta Beauty’s 21 days of Beauty event this fall.¬† It is now one of my favorite all time mascaras!¬† It grabs all of my lashes, lengthens and curls them.¬† I have tiny lashes, and this makes them look long and lush!¬† I just had to toss it because it’s been 3 months, and I’m so sad!¬† But, I’m sure I’ll purchase it again.

IT Cosmetics¬†Bye Bye Lines Foundation ($38 USD) — This is a serum foundation.¬† It’s really light and I’d say a medium coverage.¬† I am looking for a heavier coverage for the new year, but this has been a nice foundation.¬† It blends really well and looks so natural.¬† Plus, I love that it’s good for my skin.

Tomorrow, hopefully, I will post my first ever Project Pan.  It will be for the skincare I want to use up in the next three months.  Wish me luck!

BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review ‚Äď November 2017

I recently received my November BoxyCharm! I have been subscribing for a few months now and have generally enjoyed it.

Boxycharm is just $21 a month for 5-6 beauty items, most of them full-sized.

The products I received this month are:

KNC Beauty Collagen Lip Masks (Set of 3) ‚Äď $15

Laqa & Co Cloud Lips Airy Matte Lipstick in Storm-  $17, colors may vary

BoxyCharm x Luxie Quad Eye Travel Set Brushes ‚Äď $32

CoverFX illuminating setting spray¬†‚Äď $31

Winky Luxe Kitten Palette¬†‚Äď $25

I think these lip mask are kinda strange.  I also have just got a Rodial one.  I guess I will be testing out lip mask this weekend!

This color is really dark in the tube, but is more like a berry shade– see swatch below.¬† I don’t really wear darker lip colors, but I may wear this during the holidays.

These brushes are gorgeous.  I love the look of them and they are so soft.  This includes from left to right:

221T: Flat Definer Brush ‚ÄstUse this to define and smudge out your lower lash line.

227T: Blending Brush ‚Äď Use this for precise blending in the crease.

213T: Shading Brush ‚ÄstUse this to apply eyeshadow

207T: Angled shading eye brush ‚Äď Use this for blending out any lines or for smoking out the outer corners of your eyes.

This is one of the items I was really looking forward to! It’s supposed to give the face a glow and help makeup last all day.¬† I tried it today, and it did leave a soft glow on my skin.¬† I’m going to use it in the morning before I go to work tomorrow, and then go out with my friends.¬† We’ll see how my makeup looks at the end of the day.

I am so excited for this!¬† I haven’t tried anything by Winky Lux before, and I have heard good things.¬† First of all the packaging is so cute!¬† I love the kitties on the cover.¬† I wish the palette had a mirror, but the size of the pans are good.

The shades are so pretty! (Swatches below) My favorite shade is the first in the middle row called Holographic.  It is a gorgeous pinky-lavender.  I wore this today.  I used Holographic on my lid and the dark gold glitter called Cateye in my crease.  As much as I loved it, mid day I had a lot of glitter on my cheeks.  I think and hope it was from Cateye, because I love Holographic so much.  Next time I will wear Chesire (the red color on the bottom row) in the crease.

On the left is the lip color. All of the shadows swatched well, except for the last two, dark mattes. I’ll be playing with the palette the rest of the week, for sure!

I am impressed with this box!¬† I didn’t care for October’s (see review here), but November was a hit.¬† I will use the shadow, brushes, and setting spray a lot.¬† I will try the lip masks and probably won’t use the lip color.

So far the spoilers for the December box are Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara  and Real Her Blush Kit.

I’m not too thrilled yet, I hope there’s something amazing coming.¬† But, we’ll see.
