Shop My Stash January 2020 Results and Monthly Empties

Hi All! Happy Saturday!¬†I’m back with my January Shop My Stash results!¬† I enjoy dipping into my collection and using products I haven’t used in a long time, or just haven’t given much of a chance.

My rule with this is if I don’t like the item after the month, I will move it out of my collection to make some room and let someone else enjoy it!¬†You can check out my first Shop My Stash post for January.

I’ve had a lot of fun playing with these products this month!¬† And I have decided to keep all of these products for now.

The Colourpop blush and Milani blusher are both amazing products! They are still fairly new to me, but I now have a good idea of how they perform, and I love them.

I’ve found that I don’t really wear lipstick any more, just liner and gloss.¬† I did wear my MAC Creme in Your Coffee lipstick once or twice.¬† It is nice and I’ll keep it, but I now want to go through my lipsticks and get rid of most of them. I did a pretty big declutter last year of my makeup, but I really want to pair it down to just what I use.¬† Would you be interested in seeing that on my blog?

IMG-2710

I used this palette a lot this month!¬† I tried every shade.¬† I’ve found that I like it okay.¬† Many of the shades have to be built up, especially the shimmers.¬† I am okay with building up mattes, but I like my shimmers to be soft and very blingy.¬† I do like the variety of the shades and I made a lot of varied looks with it.¬† I think I’ll keep it for now, but I might pass it on when I declutter.

IMG-2711

Urban Decay On The Run palette in Detour¬† – I really love this palette.¬† It’s the opposite of the Emily Edit palette in that it’s very pigmented and easy to use.¬† The shimmers, especially Dash, are creamy and are very blingy!¬† And the mattes are so easy to blend.I am very happy to keep this in my collection.

On to my empties:

IMG-2707

I had a lot more empties than I thought I would this month, but I have been trying to go through my products more.¬† So I’m proud of these.

For skincare, I finished the PIXI Jasmine Oil and the PIXI Collagen & Retinol Serum.¬† I’ve had the Jasmine oil for a while, but I concentrated on using it the last few months.¬† I love the scent.¬† I also liked the serum, which was unscented, but I don’t know if it did much to my skin.¬† The Glow Recipe Pineapple Bright Serum was very scented like extremely ripe pineapple.¬† I didn’t care for the scent¬† but I loved the serum to brighten my skin.¬† I would repurchase the PIXI Jasmine oil and the Glow Recipe.¬†

The Laneige Choco Mint lip mask was amazing! I got it in a holiday set with a full size of the berry and another little one.  I use the lip mask every day.  And I will continue to repurchase them so I always have one on hand. I also used up the Body Shop Fall For Pumpkin body butter I purchased in October and two hand creams, Juicy Pear and Mango, from my The Body Shop advent calendar.

For Makeup, I finally used up the Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer.¬† I’ve had it for about 18 months and have been working on using it up.¬† It’s okay.¬† It works fine, but was really expensive.¬† I don’t know if I’ll purchase again in the future.¬† I also finished my L’Oreal Lash Paradise primer, a deluxe size of the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara and the Pop Beauty lip liner.¬† I would purchase the lip liner again, I loved it.

I had fun playing with the products in my Shop My Stash last month.¬† I’ll be posting my new one hopefully tomorrow.

Shop My Stash — January 2020

IMG-2525

Hi all!¬† It’s time for my first Shop my Stash of 2020!

I’m always excited to play with new (again to me) color cosmetics that I either haven’t used in a while or haven’t used much at all! My goal is to get more use out of the products I have and to see if they are something I want to keep.

This month I have chosen two palettes that I have barely used and a blush, bronzer and lipstick that I just purchased in the Black Friday sales.¬† I usually don’t choose brand new (to me) products, but I really want to try these out.

Here are the palettes open:

IMG-2524

So many pretty shades to play with!¬† I have already used them today and loved playing with something I haven’t tried in a while.

Here are close ups of the products:IMG-2498

img-2497.jpg

Makeup Revolution The Emily Edit The Wants Palette— I purchased this in June of 2019 (on sale at Ulta), and I haven’t used it since summer.¬† Most of my palettes have less shades then this, so it’s a little intimidating when I open it.¬† I used it today and I kept adding different colors of shimmer on my lid (Cupcake, Top Story, Eve Rose and Pizzaz).¬† They do all work together, but I need to calm down and know that I can use some shades for other looks this month, lol!¬† Do you have that problem with larger palettes?

IMG-2499IMG-2500Urban Decay On The Run palette in Detour — This is such a pretty little palette. And the blues definitely give me winter vibes. I received this from Urban Decay in 2019 and am exited to play with it. The formula is gorgeous.

IMG-2502IMG-2503

Colourpop Pressed Powder Blush in Enchanted — This warm pink blush is so fresh and pretty on. It works so well with cool and warm looks. It’s a more matte blush, but that’s what I currently like.

IMG-2504

Milani Silky Matte Bronzing Powder in 01 Sun Light — I also love matte bronzers.¬† This one is new to me and very light.¬† But, I can build it up and it’s so soft and natural on.¬† This is perfect for the winter when I am more fair.

IMG-2505

I wear lipgloss more than lipstick, but I have bought a few lipsticks last year that I need to use.¬† This is the MAC Lipstick in the Cremesheen formula.¬† The shade is Creme in Your Coffee— a creamy mid-tone pink brown.¬† I love hydrating lip formulas and this one is very nice.¬† I’m looking forward to using it!

I’m so exited for this month, and this year!¬† I’m hoping to use more of my stash, and purchase less.¬† I’m also doing a new series that I will be starting soon — I will be reviewing 20 of my palettes this year that I haven’t reviewed yet.¬† And I might do a Project Pan.¬† I’m still thinking about that.

Are you planning to use what you got this year — or is it spend, spend, spend (like I did last year)?¬† LOL!¬† Let me know!

Revolution x The Emily Edit – The Wants Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hi all!  Happy Friday!  I am so ready for the weekend!

I decided to do a fun palette review today! This is the Revolution x The Emily Edit – The Wants Eyeshadow Palette.¬† It’s a larger palette with lots of fun colors!

It is in collaboration with Youtuber Emily Noel.  She does beauty videos and has an easy-going personality.

IMG-1157

I purchased this on sale at Ulta.¬† It is normally $20 USD, which is not bad, but it was on sale for $12!¬† I’ve had my eye on it for a while, so I scooped it up!

The packaging is sturdy plastic. Here’s the inside:

IMG-1165.JPG

It has 24 shades and a huge mirror!  This has a lot of cool and warm toned neutrals with a few pops of color. Here are the shades:

  • The Cream (white cream, matte finish)
  • Midwest (light tan, matte finish)
  • Oh Heavens! (beige cream, satin finish)
  • Cupcake (peach, satin finish)
  • Hobby (light brown, matte finish)
  • Dues Paid (red brick, matte finish)
  • LoveTons (plum, matte finish)
  • Laughcry (blood orange, matte finish)
  • Prayer (sepia brown, matte finish)
  • Eve Rose (light lilac with a gold shift, satin finish)
  • Pizzazz (maroon purple, shimmer finish)
  • Cheer (maroon, matte finish)
  • Grateful (lime green, shimmer finish)
  • Belle Violet (lavender, shimmer finish)
  • Family (deep purple, matte finish)
  • Heartbeat (chestnut, shimmer finish)
  • Good Vibes (rich copper, shimmer finish)
  • Capricorn (mocha brown, satin finish)
  • Top Story (gold, shimmer finish)
  • Corduroy (emerald green, matte finish)
  • Side Hustle (khaki green with a gold shift, shimmer finish)
  • Pi Phi (plum purple, matte finish)
  • Apartment (wood brown, matte finish)
  • Dark & Early (black, matte finish)

Here are close up photos of each side:

I haven’t tried all of the shades, but I have tried some mattes and shimmers.

Swatches!

IMG-1168

This photo is a bit blurry but the rest are okay. ( I’ll reswatch it when I can and replace it).

The shades in the first row from left to right are The Cream, Hobby, Prayer, Grateful, Good Vibes, Side Hustle.

Hobby and Prayer are good transition shades and cream is nice all over the lid.¬† I haven’t tried the other shades yet.

IMG-1170

Second row from left to right — Midwest, Dues Paid, Eve Rose, Belle Violet, Capricorn and Pi Phi.

Midwest and Dues paid are great crease shades.  Eve Rose and Belle Violet are very sheer shimmers.  They are more like shadow toppers.  They are okay.

IMG-1171

Third row left to right — Oh Heavens!, Love Tons, Pizazz, Family, Top Story and Apartment.

I enjoy using Love Tons and Apartment to deepen an eye look.  Pizazz and Top Story are gorgeous lid shimmers.

IMG-1172

Fourth row left to right — Cupcake, Laughcry, Cheer, Heartbeat, Corduroy and Dark & Early.

Cupcake is another sheer lid shade.¬† It’s really pretty, though.¬† The rest of the shades¬†on this row are nice to create more dramatic looks.

I’m still trying out this palette.¬† The first time I used it, the shadows only lasted two hours.¬† I just put it over concealer.¬† The other times I have worn it, I used an eyeshadow base and set it.¬† That works better and they last a few hours¬†longer.¬† This isn’t a highly pigmented palette.¬† It’s nice, but not one for really dramatic or very long lasting looks.

For $12, it’s a pretty good deal, but I’m glad I didn’t pay $20 for it.¬† You can get Colourpop palettes for the same price or less and they have better pigmentation.

I will continue to play with this palette, and recommend it for those who like more natural looks or want to support Emily Noel.

Do you have this palette?  Are you a fan of Emily Noel?

March 2018 Beauty Favorites

IMG_0740

It’s so crazy that it’s already April!¬† March went by so fast!¬† I did enjoy trying new products and I have lots more to test and review.¬† I’m always looking for new favorites. Here are the ones I used again and again in March:

Makeup Revolution¬†Reloaded Palette in Newtrals 2.¬† ($7 USD).¬† I talked about this in an ULTA haul, and I still haven’t swatched and reviewed it.¬† My bad! I am going to try to review it in the next week or two.¬† I can say that this is so pigmented and the colors are gorgeous, especially the shimmers. I think that it is definately worth the price and am looking forward to trying more Makeup Revolution eye shadows.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads (12.99 USD) — I have been using this for weeks now and I have been loving how my skin looks!¬† It includes 60 radiance-boosting pads, soaked in exfoliating glycolic acid (2.8%) retexture + resurface skin whilst witch hazel helps to tone. Also includes hyaluronic acid + soothing blue daisy helps to reveal brighter + smoother looking skin.¬†I use this once or twice a day and love how smooth my skin is! It helps my makeup to apply more evenly, too!

IT Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Hydrating Color Awakening Lip Treatment Serum — I recieved this in a TSV kit on QVC.¬† It is infused with butters, oils, hyaluronic acid, and antioxidants.¬† It starts out very light pink, then adjusts to a bright pink on my lips.

Zoella Beauty Sweet Inspirations¬†($12.95): This is inspired by the sweet scent of macaroons.¬† To me, it smells like vanilla and is a warm scent.¬† It smells so yummy and I love wearing it for work because it isn’t overly floral or cloying.

Jane Iredale¬†Limited Edition Snap Happy Makeup Kit ($58 USD) — This is a cute little makeup stack that includes:

PureMatte¬ģ Finish Powder ‚Äď translucent
Whisper PurePressed¬ģ Blush ‚Äď shimmery peachy pink
Brown Sugar PurePressed¬ģ Eye Shadow Triple ‚Äď warm brown, shimmery peach, shimmery copper eggplant

I love all of these products and they work well together.  The powder is translucent and works well as a finishing powder.  The blush is light and a little sparkly, nice for spring and summer.  These are all shimmery and so nicely pigmented.  This kit will be good for traveling, too.

Julep¬†No Limits¬† ($24 USD) — This creme can be used on face, hands or body.¬† I like to keep this in my purse.¬† It’s so hydrating for my hands.¬† I think it would be to heavy for my face.¬† I received this in my November 2017 Julep Maven box.

What were your most reached for products this month?

Mini Ulta Haul

img_0461.jpg

So, I wanted to go on a makeup spree, but instead I made a small online order on Ulta.  Makeup Revolution is currently on sale at Ulta, buy 2 get one free.  Which is an amazing deal!  Plus I saw this sparkly Real Techniques powder brush and had to have it!

I am going probably going to review all of these with swatches at some time, but here are the products I just bought:

img_0465.jpg

img_0466.jpg

This is the Makeup Revolution Reloaded Palette in Newtrals 2.  It is only $7 USD and is STUNNING!  It is so pigmented and the colors are gorgeous, especially the shimmers.  I will be swatching this in a review in a week or two, after I play with it. I do want to say that I like this so much I am tempted to go to Ulta and get the other 3 palettes in the Reloaded collection while the buy 2 get one free deal is still going on!

IMG_0463

Makeup Revolution¬†Conceal & Define Full Coverage Conceal & Contour¬†— $7 USD.¬† I got the shade C4.¬† I like it so far, but I think I should have got it lighter.¬† I’m going to play with it a bit before I review it.¬† I hear it’s a dupe for tarte’s Shape Tape, but I haven’t tried that concealer.

img_0462.jpg

Makeup Revolution Luxury Baking Powder in Lace — $8 USD — This originally just came in the banana powder shade.¬† I don’t do well with anything yellow or orange, so I was happy to find the cream color Lace powder.¬† I am liking it for setting makeup and baking.

IMG_0464

IMG_0469

Real Techniques¬†Brush Crush 300 Powder Brush — $12.99 USD — I wasn’t happy with my powder brush, so I was looking for a fluffy one.¬† And this is gorgeous!¬† So fun, it makes me me smile each time I use it.

Do you like shopping at Ulta?  What did you get at your last visit?
