Lavanila The Healthy Body Butter in Vanilla Lavender

I am so excited, as this is my 100th blog post! I started my blog in September 2008. But since January, I have received lots of fantastic products from fab companies to sample and review. I have looked back and found my 5 very favorite products or companies. These items are so good, I would definitely purchase them!
1. Lipstick Queen Big Bang Illusion Gloss ($20.00 USD www.lipstickqueen.com) — is probably the best gloss I have tried. Its light reflecting particles create the illusion of fuller lips without irritating ingredients. And it is creamy, not sticky. FAB!
2. Anything from Kenzo (www.kenzousa.com)! From their fragrances to their skincare items, Kenzo is all about quality and just plain fabulosity! Their scents are very subtle and fresh, like the Eau de Fleur de The – Tea (1.7 oz , $55.00 USD).
3. EcoTools (www.parispresents.com/EcoTools_s/36.htm) Makes the most wonderful — and affordable — makeup brushes and tools and are created from recycled and sustainable materials. I’m really digging the Foundation Brush ($5.99 USD) and the Recycled Aluminum Retractable Kabuki Brush ($7.99 USD) right now, but their are so many to choose from!
4. Tigi Love, Peace & The Planet line is a really fantastic eco-friendly line for your hair. The Eco Awesome Cranberry Orange Mint Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner($19.95 each USD) smells out of this world! It’s not up on the TIGI Website yet, but it should be soon.
5. LUSH (www.lushusa.com) makes lovely fresh handmade bath and beauty items. I really love their bath bombs! What a fun treat. But they also make quality skincare and haircare.
These are just a few of my favorite products that I have tried. I have been so lucky to love almost everything that I have received. You are welcome to peruse my blog for other awesome items that you haven’t tried yet!
I love discovering unusual beauty products that are really fantastic. SALONTEA by Tracy Stern is a company that not only creates teas for drinking, but also creates teas to soak in! I have tried both the BATHTEA and the EYE TEA and have found them both very relaxing.
EYE TEA($16.50 USD for 8) — The websites describes them as “eye pads designed to fit perfectly over your eyes are charged with a soothing blend of organic chamomile tea, angelica root, and witch hazel to bring fast relief to swollen, tired eyes.” To use these, you let them soak in cool or warm water for a minute then place them on your eyes. This feels wonderful and did de-puff my tired eyes. The scent is really soothing as well.
BATHTEA ($16.50 for 3, $33.00 for 6) “Homeothereapeutic bath infusions that combine the benefits of aromatherapy with the direct application of herbal nutrients to your skin to effectively relieve stress, anxiety and insomnia.” These are offered in three scents; Chai, Rose Petal and Vanilla. This is really a fun product. You let it steep in the bath and it’s kind of like you are soaking in a giant cup of tea! My favorite scent was the Chai; it smells a little spicy and exotic and it a good break from the kids (or whatever stresses you).
SALONTEA’s beauty line also includes tea-infused foot soaks, body lotions, body scrubs and lip balms. Visit their website at www.salontea.com

I love discovering fun products that are unique. The Canadian company Frilly Lilly makes beautiful bath products that are wrapped in vintage-inspired packaging and are like nothing I’ve seen before.
I especially like the bathcakes. They are essentially bath bombs that are in shapes and “flavors” of bundt cakes, cupcakes and petit fours. The website instructions states, “Dissolve your Frilly Lilly Bathcake™ in the tub under running water to release the soothing oils and delicious scents. Lock the door, give yourself plenty of time to soak, and indulge without ever gaining a pound!”
I tried the Mandarin Orange Bundt Cake. It was a very pretty light orange with frosting and sprinkles on top. As it dissolved in my bath, it released a fragrant orange aroma. Very fun!
Visit the website at www.frillylilly.ca and enjoy!
Crabtree & Evelyn is a classic brand that makes great bath and body products. Their Aromatherapy Distillations are as wonderful for the senses as they are for the body.
The Aromatherapy Distillations are available in three different collections; Relaxing, Revitalizing and Purify. The scents are:
Relaxing: Calming essential oil blend of lavender and rosewood, tonka, chamomile, vanilla and violet leaf.
Revitalizing: Essential oil blend of lemon, coriander, spearmint, mandarin and star anise.
Purifying: Essential oil blend of eucalyptus, lime, peppermint, grapefruit, mandarin and rosemary.
These ranges come in many different products such as Body Lotion, Body Wash, Body Scrub and Body Salts. Visit their website at www.store.crabtree-evelyn.com for the full collections and prices.

When I first opened my sample of La Mer The Body Refiner (200 ml, $110.00 USD ), I was in my car waiting for my daughter’s bus. I wasn’t sure what it was, so I took it, and rubbed it on my hand. When I looked at my hand, it was sparkling — a lot! So I read the ingredients…diamond dust? How cool is that.
And what an effective body buffer. I rub it on my skin until the particles smooth away and then rinse it off. I have been using this a couple times a week for three weeks. My skin is now so soft!
The Body Refiner incorporates fermented acidic sea muds harvested from a natural marine source. They have low pH levels, and thus work well on sensitive skin. Pure diamond powder and polished sea quartz are the exfoliants and they are infused in a cream base, so it is very gentle on the skin.
This luxury treatment releases in April. Visit the website at www.cremedelamer.com to purchase it or other wonderful skincare products. Enjoy!
I have been known to just use soap or shower gel to shave my legs. So it was a really nice change to use the luxurious Whish shaving products. This line uses natural and mostly organic ingredients. Without the harsh chemicals, my skin is even smoother after shaving than usual!
The Whish Pomegranate Shave Crave Pump Shave Cream ($24.00 USD), is a very moisturizing, thick cream. It has a wonderful pomegranate scent that is tart and sweet all at once! The ingredients includes organic shea butter, organic green tea and organic jojoba seed oil, and they leave your skin soft and smooth. Unlike many store brands of shaving cream, the Whish Shave Crave doesn’t dry the skin or leave it sticky. It’s kind of like a shower gel and body butter all in one.![]()

After shaving, I use the Whish Flawless Ingrown Hair Serum ($22.50 USD) on the little red bumps on my legs. I’ve noticed that even after the first use, the bumps were less noticeable. After a couple weeks of use they seem to almost vanish. Their formula includes wheat germ extract to soothe, yeast extract to regenerate and willow bark extract to fight inflammation. It has a very mild scent and feels cool when you apply it.

The Whish products are “made in the USA with Earth friendly packaging and ingredients. Tested on us, not animals™.” These are a nice splurge, especially with warmer weather (hopefully) in the near future. You can purchase this products along with shower gels, body butters and much more at www.whishbody.com. Enjoy!

Happy Valentine’s Day! So he didn’t get you roses? Go get yourself some by indulging in the Body Shop’s Moroccan Rose Bath and Body Collection!
Notes:
Moroccan Rose Eau de Toilette (25.00 USD) — “A fresh, sophisticated and feminine rose fragrance that captures the beauty and romance of Valentine’s Day. ” This fragrance is very interesting. It goes on very rosy smelling and dries sweet and spicy! It is quite an unusual rose fragrance that took a little bit of wearing to get used to, but I really like it. Maybe if I wear it today, my husband will get the hint!
Moroccan Rose Body Butter ($20.00 USD) – This creamy moisturizer is infused with Moroccan Rose extracts that smooth the skin. It also contains Community Trade shea butter and Community Trade babassu oil; both ingredients that leave the skin soft and supple. I find that this is great in the winter when I needs thick body cream to moisturize my very dry skin.
Moroccan Rose Body Milk ($16.00 USD) – This is a lightweight “12-hour moisturizer” that comes in a pump. It is nice for a lighter moisturizer and will probably be fantastic when the weather turns warmer. This product is also imbued with Moroccan Rose and also includes Community Trade sesame, organic olive oil, and organic babassu oil.
Moroccan Rose Bath & Massage Oil ($18300 USD) – This lovely body oil is perfect for colder and warmer weather. It is very moisturizing and gives the skin a soft sheen after use (it will look great with skirts and shorts! Boy, I can’t wait for warmer weather) It contains Moroccan Rose extracts and Community Trade organically grown soya oil which is rich in essential fatty acids, helps to restore the skin’s natural moisture barrier.
Moroccan Rose Shower Gel ($13.00 USD) – This shower gel is free of harsh soaps so it leaves the skin very soft after washing. It has Moroccan Rose extract and Community Trade organic honey which moisturizes and conditions skin.
The Body Shop’s website at www.thebodyshop-usa.com to purchase products, find a store and learn more about the Community Trade ingredients that are used to create these wonderful products.

These planet friendly items are made fresh with little or no preservatives or packaging. They even tell you when they were made, so you know just how fresh they are!
Here are some fun and fragrant bath products that I recommend:
Sex Bomb Bath Bomb ($6.25 USD), “is the perfect bath bomb for a romantic evening for two, or an indulgent evening for one. Romantic pink water and an incredibly sexy jasmine fragrance set the mood… and once the rice paper rose petals fill your tub, there’s no holding back” states the website. Some of the ingredients are Jasmine Absolute, Clary Sage Oil, and Ylang Ylang. This fizzes up then gives you very pink and fragrant bath water. It’s so nice! But if this isn’t the scent for you LUSH makes lots of Bath Bombs in various scents.
Karma Bubble Bar ($7.85 USD), “has a spicy Far Eastern influence, with traditional European lavender and a splash of light orange dancing around in there somewhere. Once struck, you’ll want it in every form that exists. Here it is as a bubble bar.” This also contains Pine Oil, Lemongrass Oil and Gardenia Extract. To use, break off a piece of the bar and crumble it under running water. It then gives you lots of bubbles.
Lemslip Buttercream ($8.75 USD for a 1/4 lb, sold by weight), “This delightful conditioning body cleanser makes your skin feel clean and silky. Astringent and toning lemon and lime rouse you for a new day. Softening cocoa and coconut butters make you smooth and soft for a night in a cocoon of satin sheets. With Lemslip, your bath or shower becomes an extravagant pleasure. What a lovely way to start or end the day”! This is a jell-like soap that is very lemony and feels very nice while washing you up! I used it before I shaved my legs and it help the razor glide right across!
To purchase these products as well as others for face cleansing and moisturizing, hair products and perfumes, check out their website at www.lushusa.com. Happy shopping!

Body scrubs are a luxurious necessity in the winter time. Scrubbing dry skin off (plus drinking lots of water) is a great way to have dewy skin when the weather is dry. And Kansas City is very dry and cold right now!
Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean Shower Gel ($9.99 USD at Target) makes your skin smooth and smells wonderful. My 9 year old daughter helped me identify what the scent reminds me of: peach ice tea. Yum!
This scrub contains peach extract, pineapple extract, grapeseed powder, buffing beads and fruit acid smoothers. Its a gel consistency with the beads for exfoliation so it is not harsh at all. The directions say to use once or twice a week, but I’ve been using it every other day and my skin is very soft!
Don’t forget to exfoliate this winter! And maybe try this great scrub, too.
