Korres Quercetin and Oak Instant Lift Age-reversing Eye Cream

Korres Quercetin and Oak Instant Lift Age-reversing Eye Cream

Is eye cream an integral step in your skin care routine? It is for me. I use eye cream around my entire eye in the morning and night. It makes a huge difference in helping me look younger. When I skip this step, after a few days my eyes begin to look tired.

So I am always looking for a new eye cream to perk up my peepers. Korres Quercetin and Oak Instant Lift Age-reversing Eye Cream ($42.00 USD) is a great one to try.

The info: Based on Nobel Award-Winning research, Patent-Pending Quercetin&Oak Instant Lift Eye cream is clinically proven to reverse the signs of aging – where you need it most. Revolutionary technology stimulates cell growth and protein synthesis to dramatically reduce eye wrinkles, significantly increase skin elasticity and reduce puffiness and dark circles.  Skin is instantly lifted, rejuvenated and returned to its youthful state.

Clinical Results show:
·        97% saw a reduction in wrinkles
·        97% saw visibly firmer skin
·        94% saw a reduction in eye puffiness
·        84% saw a reduction in dark circles
·        100% saw improved skin texture
What I think:  This is an exceptional cream that is priced well for what it does. This is creamy, but not greasy, and feels great!  I notice that the skin around my eyes looks tighter and smoother immediately after use, and after using for a few weeks my eyes looks much younger. So nice!

Update Your Summertime Bath Routine With Fresh New Products

Summer is the time for herby, fresh scents and tropical fragrances like my favorite, coconut. I love trying new bath products in the summertime — it really seems to set the mood for a relaxing season. Try a new product and scent this summer; there are some great suggestions below.

Buddha Nose Bohdi Sugar Scrub ($28.00 USD)  — contains organic and wild crafted essential oils of cedarwood, frankincense, ho wood and juniper berry for a sultry scrub. It also boasts organic sugar, certified organic potassium cocoate, organic tapioca starch, vegetable glycerin, and citric acid powder to give natural exfoliation. To use, scoop desired amount into hand and moisten with warm water until foamy and scrub face and body, as the sugar melts and washes away. I love that this is good for the face in body. It is great in the shower as a quick scrub all over to start the day. And exfoliating is so important when self tanning! Visit www.buddhanose.com for information on this product and to purchase it.

Korres Basil Lemon Shower Gel ($19.95 for Jumbo Size 13.53 fl. oz) — This has a fresh, green citrus scent and is very invigorating. The website touts these benefits of the shower gel:

• Basil Lemon showergel is enriched with Active Aloe® that stimulates collagen and elastin to reduce the visible signs of aging.
• Wheat Proteins form a protective shield to help maintain skin’s ideal moisture level.
• Potent Vitamins C, E & Zinc enhance the natural immune system of the skin.
• New pump packaging is convenient and easy to use.

This scent is also available in a Jumbo Body Butter ($29.95 7.95 fl. oz.) and a Body Scrub ($17.00  5.07 fl. oz.)  This lovely shower gel is also 89.2% natural and all packaging components are recyclable. Check out www.korresusa.com for these products and so much more!

The Body Shop Coconut Milk Body Lotion ($16.00 USD) — This is a fun, light spray lotion that has a natural coconut scent that is made with Community Trade organic pure cold-pressed virgin coconut oil. I love that it is so light and milky and sinks into the skin instantly. No greasy lotion here! Try it with the Coconut Shower Cream ($13.00 USD) and various other coconut-scented products by The Body Shop. Visit www.thebodyshop-usa.com  for more info and to purchase.

Beautyblender blender + cleanser duo pack

blender + cleanser duo pack

I love finding cool makeup tools that make application easier. And when its good for the environment? Well, that’s even better! So of course I LOVE the Beautyblender makeup sponge (blender and cleanser is $34.95).

The website explains, “Invented by top Hollywood make up artists Rea Ann Silva and Veronica Lorenz, Beautyblender has been created to leave you with a professional finish and a flawless complexion. Silva and Lorenz know that the key to a perfect face is simple: a perfect blend. So forget your fingers or sharp-edged triangular sponges, these application methods waste make up and can leave visible streaks.”

The  pre=”The “>Beautylender is an egg-shaped (elliptical), velvety sponge that because of the shape, blends with out streaking. Stippling it around the face creates a smooth surface and even helps my pores seem smaller. The pointed side is for around eyes, mouth and nose and the base is for broader areas like forehead, cheeks and chin.

The really cool think about this sponge is that it is reusable. Use it, then wash it with the Blendercleanser. This will keep the skin healthy and extend the life of the sponge. “Blendercleanser is a lightly lavender-scented cleanser that’s free of dyes and skin irritants. It’s soothing soy-based, low-suds formula breaks down rapidly, making it earth-friendly and fun to use. Soy has the added benefit of being one of nature’s finest moisturizers, so by all means, clean up with class and do it often.”

I clean it after each use by applying a small amount to the soiled areas of the Beautyblender. I lather, then rinse. When it is wet, it is twice the normal size. I then place it on the pedestal on the top of the cleanser and let it air dry. Even if you use it a little wet, it still works great!

Clean up with FURTHER SOAP

Further Hand Soap
Further Hand Soap
Want clean hands and a clean conscious? FURTHER SOAP($18.50 8 oz) is made from the glycerin derived from the distillation of biofuel.
I really like using this hand soap. I love how it is basically a recycled product and is biodegradable. The scent is an infusion of essential oils of bergamot, olive and exotic grasses. It smells bright and fresh and cleans without stripping the skin. My husband likes it too, which is a plus!
They have recently created a candle made from purified waste grease from Mario Batali’s restaurant Mozza. It is the same scent as the soap, so I’m sure it makes the house smell heavenly!

Be Good to Your Nails, Try Organic Priti Nail Polish

Wow, I just realized that my blog has been around for a year now! Amazing. And I am still finding great new products to review!

In the year I have been beauty blogging, I have become more aware of the natural and organic products for review. I think that the number of natural and orgainc brands and product lines will only grow in the future, which is both great for our bodies and the planet.

I have recently discovered Priti, an organic nail and skin care company. The complete product line is non-toxic and derived of organically grown products.

I have been wearing their nail polish ($12.50, 0.43 fl. oz.), which is contained in a bottle that is completely recyclable. The website states, “they are fast drying, chip resistant, non-yellowing, contains a UV inhibitor, and are super durable and glossy”.

I have been wearing a peacock blue color called Tulip Tree for the past week, and it is just beginning to chip, which is amazing for a nail polish. I usually touch up my polish during the week, but this week I haven’t had to. And I have had compliments on the gorgeous color, which has stayed glossy all week. This is a pretty pricy polish, but it is well worth it for the wear and for the fact that it is non-toxic and organic!

Visit www.pritinyc.3dcartstores.com to learn more and to purchase these great polishes, which come in a large variety of colors.

My 5 Top Finds in 2009 — So Far…

I am so excited, as this is my 100th blog post! I started my blog in September 2008. But since January, I have received lots of fantastic products from fab companies to sample and review. I have looked back and found my 5 very favorite products or companies. These items are so good, I would definitely purchase them!

1. Lipstick Queen Big Bang Illusion Gloss ($20.00 USD www.lipstickqueen.com) — is probably the best gloss I have tried. Its light reflecting particles create the illusion of fuller lips without irritating ingredients. And it is creamy, not sticky. FAB!

2. Anything from Kenzo (www.kenzousa.com)! From their fragrances to their skincare items, Kenzo is all about quality and just plain fabulosity! Their scents are very subtle and fresh, like the Eau de Fleur de The – Tea (1.7 oz , $55.00 USD).

3. EcoTools (www.parispresents.com/EcoTools_s/36.htm) Makes the most wonderful — and affordable — makeup brushes and tools and are created from recycled and sustainable materials. I’m really digging the Foundation Brush ($5.99 USD) and the Recycled Aluminum Retractable Kabuki Brush ($7.99 USD) right now, but their are so many to choose from!

4. Tigi Love, Peace & The Planet line is a really fantastic eco-friendly line for your hair. The Eco Awesome Cranberry Orange Mint Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner($19.95 each USD) smells out of this world! It’s not up on the TIGI Website yet, but it should be soon.

5. LUSH (www.lushusa.com) makes lovely fresh handmade bath and beauty items. I really love their bath bombs! What a fun treat. But they also make quality skincare and haircare.

These are just a few of my favorite products that I have tried. I have been so lucky to love almost everything that I have received. You are welcome to peruse my blog for other awesome items that you haven’t tried yet!

Let Your Hair Go Green with the TIGI Love, Peace & the Planet Collection

Love, Peace & The Planet Collection
Love, Peace & The Planet Collection

Hi all, welcome to my Hair Extravaganza Week! I am reviewing only hair products this week at Forty, Flirty and Fabulous!

Tigi is introducing it’s Love, Peace & The Planet eco-friendly line. This line of six products is made from natural, paraben free, and mostly organic ingredients that are as good for the planet as they are for your hair!

The products are:

Eco Awesome Cranberry Orange Mint Moisturizing Shampoo ($19.95 USD) — This is the BEST hair scent ever! When you first sniff the bottle, the smell of mint is dominant. But when you shampoo, the cranberry and orange infuse the shower with this incredible fragrance! This is great for the scent alone, but the organic aloe leaf juice, organic geranium, organic lavender and rosemary seed extracts and organic jojoba oil make this shampoo both cleansing and softening.

Eco Awesome Cranberry Orange Mint Moisturizing Conditioner ($19.95 USD) — Same fantastic scent as the shampoo! The conditioner includes organic aloe leaf juice, organic olive fruit oil, organic white tea leaf extract,  and organic glycerin. This product claims to moisturize, impart shine and help fight humidity. My hair does seem less frizzy when I use it.

Let it Be Cherry Almond Leave-in Conditioner ($18.95 USD) — This product has a creamy, comforting scent and is great when you don’t have time to condition in the shower or need an extra moisture boost. The ingredients include: mucor miehei and shiitake mushroom extracts, glycerin, organic shea butter and organic hibiscus and horsetail extracts.

Freak of Nature Lavender Citrus Eucalyptus Volumizer & Thickener ($18.95) — This is a good product for me since my hair is rather thin. The scent is nice but strong, you can really smell the Eucalyptus! I rub this into damp hair, making sure I get the roots, then blow dry. The ingredients include: organic Japanese green tea extract, organic pomegranate extract, organic nettle, organic glycerin and wheat amino protein.

Eco Freako Cherry Almond Texturizer ($22.95 USD) — This texturizer paste includes carnauba, soy and beeswax, hydrolyzed wheat starch, hydrolyzed soy protein and hydrolyzed wheat protein plus organic safflower oil, organic shea butter and organic jojoba seed oil. It adds shine and texture and you can mold your hair into fun and funky ‘dos.

Free Ur Mind Cherry Almond Firm Hold Hairspray ($22.95 USD) — This hairspray gives a firm hold without feeling sticky. The ingredients include: organic lavender, chamomile, geranium and aloe vera gel, panthenol and essential oils.

I highly recommend this line for healthy, green (haha) hair! Check out a TIGI retailer near you!

EcoTools — Fabulous Earth-Friendly Beauty Tools

EcoTools is one of my new favorite brands. This is because the are incredibly earth-friendly and they work fantastically well! And bonus — they are very affordable.

The brushes are made with cruelty free synthetic taklon bristles, recycled aluminum ferules (the piece that connects the bristles to the handle), and highly sustainable bamboo handles.

Some of my top picks are:

Bamboo 6 Piece Brush Set ($12.99 USD) : Are you kidding me with this price?  Wow! This fab set includes a blush brush, an eyeshading brush, an eyeliner brush, a concealer brush and a lash and brow groomer. The  brushes are SO soft and apply products very evenly. The set also includes a natural cotton & hemp brush roll.

Recycled Aluminum Retractable Kabuki Brush ($7.99 USD) : This is a great brush for applying powders. I use it to either apply mineral makeup or powder over my foundation. Just swirl in powder, tap off access and apply. It gives you a very smooth canvas for your bronzer and/or blush.

Eco-Foam Cleasing Sponges ($2.99 USD for 12) : Made with natural soybean oil and 100% cotton, which are sustainable materials. I LOVE these sponges! You apply your cleanser to the soft side and it removes every trace of make-up and gunk from the face.

There are other great brushes and tools available as well such as a Recycled Brow Grooming Kit ($9.99 USD), Foundation Brush ($5.99 USD) and Bamboo Mini Brushes ($3.99 USD for a set of 6).  I highly recommend these fabulous beauty tools!
