New Hydrating Skincare For Fall!

Hi All!  I love trying new skincare and have recently received some amazing products for my honest review. My skin is combination and aging.  I do get some break outs in my t-zone, but I wouldn’t say my skin is oily. I have a few fine lines and enlarged pores.

These products are perfect for fall.  They hydrate and keep skin looking fresh, even as it tuns colder.  Also, I tend to wear more makeup in the cooler weather and the following products help keep skin soft and moisturized:

IT  Cosmetics Miracle Water 3-in-1 Tonic ($38 USD) –This is a lightweight no-rinse product that’s created with Secret Sauce™ Fermented Complex, a clinically advanced combination of 7 penetration-enhancing fermented ingredients, Miracle Water helps to increase absorbency and improve the efficacy of your moisturizers and serums. Plus, it’s infused with anti-aging peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, rose, aloe, rice, chamomile, green tea water, licorice root, vitamin C, illuminating Drops of Light Technology™ Concentrate and diamond powder! Use it after cleansing or in place of cleanser for powerful results immediately and over time.

I love micellar water, anything that cleanses well and is easy to use is awesome!  This quickly removes my makeup.  It feels light on and leaves my skin clean without stripping it of moisture. And I love all of the anti-aging benefits it has!

IT Cosmetics Secret Sauce ($68 USD) — Developed with plastic surgeons, Secret Sauce™ immediately hydrates and transforms skin! The skin-loving, powerfully potent secret lies in the Secret Sauce™ Fermented Complex: 7 clinically advanced, penetration-enhancing fermented ingredients that help to increase absorbency and maximize the ultra-hydrating, anti-aging benefits of Secret Sauce™. Also featuring anti-aging peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and licorice root, Secret Sauce™ is perfect for all skin types and reduces the look of discoloration, lines and wrinkles. Combined with proprietary Drops of Light Technology™ Concentrate and diamond powder, this luxurious innovation gives you a youthful, lit-from-within glow—and is your secret to beautiful skin!

This is such a nice cream!  It absorbs into the skin quickly and leaves my skin so soft.  I’ve only been using it for about a week, but I find that my skin looks smoother.  I do notice a slight glow to the skin from the Drops of Light Technology™.

I love to use this cream at night. It instantly hydrates my skin and makes it so soft!  In the morning my skin is smooth and fresh.  I’ve used it for a few weeks now and my skin is more hydrated and younger looking.  I will continue using this and see what other great changes it will make to my skin!

Philosophy Purity Hydra Bounce Eye Gel
Philosophy Purity Made Simple Eye Gel

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Eye Gel ($24 USD) — experience the pure and simple way to clinically proven 24-hour hydration* and eye area-awakening results, with the power of purity eye. hydrate and revive tired-looking eyes with our unique cooling memory gel, featuring an eye area-awakening complex that includes ginkgo biloba extract and caffeine. good-for-skin ingredients enrich the formula suitable for all skin types, with meadowfoam seed oil, cold-pressed chia seed oil, patented green tea antioxidant complex and potent forms of vitamins c & e and provitamin b5.

This gel is really fun to use.  The consistency is like a creamy jello, or maybe a light flan!  When you take a small bit of it to use, the next day the product has formed back to one smooth piece.  When I pat it into my under eye, it almost dissolves like a liquid.  It’s very hydrating and smooths out fine lines under my eyes.

Ipsy Glam Bag Subsription Box Review – September 2018

Hi All!  I’m back with another subscription box review — Ipsy Glam Bag.  I subscribed to Ipsy years ago, but stopped.  I decided I wanted to try it again to try new products. They also have a larger box available starting next month, the Ipsy Glam Bag Plus.  I just got on the waiting list for that, so I’m not sure when I will receive it.

Ipsy Glam Bag is $10 a month for 5 deluxe and sometimes full-sized items.  It used to be only makeup, but it seems to now be skincare and makeup. You can sign up for it here.

If you do sign up with my link, I’ll get pushed higher up on the waiting list for the Ipsy Glam Bag Plus and that would be amazing! And then you would be eligible for the Glam Bag Plus waitlist! The Glam Bag Plus is $25 a month and looks to be 5 full-sized items.

Here are the products I received in my first bag:

IMG_2045.JPG

The bag is super cute!  It’s nice quality, too.  I was pleasantly surprised!

These are the products with the descriptions from the Ipsy website:

Elizabeth Mott Face Primer — The silky, lightweight formula also shuts down shine and helps minimize the appearance of fine lines and pores (it’s like a real-life Insta-filter!).It’s waterproof, so there’s no chance of your makeup sliding off if you get caught in the rain.

APTO Healing Turmeric Mask — This lightweight mask is packed with natural, skin-healing ingredients. Turmeric and neem travel deep into your skin’s pores to draw out impurities. They also have strong antibacterial properties and help reduce redness and inflammation, making them great acne-fighters. Azelaic acid gently sloughs away dead skin cells (no scrubbing needed) to reveal the fresh skin beneath and help restore your glow. Colloidal sulfur helps removes blackheads, deeply cleanses pores, and absorbs excess oil.

The Creme Shop 2-in-1 Facial Foam Cleanser — Packed with ingredients your skin loves—like green tea, rice water and white lily—this gentle, foamy formula is actually fun to use. Green tea is super rich in antioxidants and vitamins that help firm up and rejuvenate skin. Rice water and white lily help calm redness and treat acne scars.

MPrincess Loose Eyeshadow in Pretty Petal — This loose pigment shadow builds and blends really easily, so you can go for a lowkey or amped up eye look depending on your mood. It’s *so* fun to experiment with and plays well with your other shadows. (You can create endless looks by mixing and matching.) We love the dusty rose shade, which makes all eye colors really pop.

Luxie Beauty Wonder Woman Detail Tapered Blender 140 — LUXIE BEAUTY teamed up with Warner Brothers to bring us this limited-edition, Wonder Woman-inspired makeup brush. The synthetic bristles are soft and light yet pick up just the right amount of product with ease. The pointed brush head is great for targeting small areas (like applying concealer to your undereyes and inner corners of your nose).

When I first saw what I was getting, I wasn’t very excited.  From what I remember, Ipsy was a makeup subscription.  But it seems like now they include skincare.  Which I really don’t need as I have tons of skincare (and tons of makeup to be honest).  But I am excited to try the mask, it sound sounds like it will work well with my skin.  I don’t need a cleanser, but I like K-Beauty and I will keep it for travel. I have already tried the primer and it is pore filling.  And that brush!  I love Luxie and it’s really soft.  The shadow is a shimmery pink.  I don’t know if I will keep it or give it away, but it looks pretty!

I am happy with this bag!  Do you get Ipsy Glam Bag?  What did you get this month?

BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review -September 2018

img_2019.jpg

Hi all! I received my September  BoxyCharm this week.  I wasn’t as excited as I usually am.  I don’t know if you’ve heard that they have released a larger box called BoxyLuxe.  On the day it released, I got up early and tried for 5 hours to subscribe.  I didn’t get it and am on the waiting list for December’s BoxyLuxe (it’s quarterly).  So, I’m a bit salty towards BoxyCharm right now and am trying to decide if I want to keep the subscription.

Boxycharm is just $21 a month for 5-6 beauty items, most of them full-sized.  It is a nice  way to try new makeup and beauty tools.

This month I received:

IMG_2021

I just want to say that I’m not going to swatch any of these because I will be giving most of it away to friends…

This Laura Geller baked blush is in the shade Tropic Hues.  It’s a pretty shimmery coral/pink.  I think this would be really pretty in the spring/summer seasons.  I have tried Laura Geller blushes before and they are very nice — light and shimmery.

IMG_2036

I love LORAC lip glosses.  They are so comfortable and not sticky at all. I haven’t tried their liquid lips.  I wear nudes and pinks, so this isn’t for me, but I have a friend who will love it!

The eyeliner has a tiny pizza cutter like roller  on the applicator. This is to roll it on your eyelids.  I am not an eyeliner expert, but I tried this and it’s really hard to use!  I’ll see if my daughter can figure it out.

IMG_2033.JPG

This is the Pretty Vulgar Nightingale palette.  It’s a cool toned, smoky palette.  I think this will be really nice for fall and winter!  I have these types of shades, so I will be passing it on, but it’s pretty and the packaging is fun!

IMG_2026.JPG

This is the one item I’m keeping out of the September box. I LOVE theses brushes!  The green handles are fun and the brushes work really well.  I have already used these.  I really enjoy getting quality eye brushes!

So, I think this is a nice box.  The items will make great gifts.  I think I may be on product overload, though.  I think I’m going to keep BoxyCharm until December to see if I get the next BoxyLuxe.

Do you get BoxyCharm or did you get BoxyLuxe this month (lucky)? What did you think of the September box?

Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Sale — September 2-22 2018

Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty are here! I am so excited for this! This sale happens twice a year, in the Fall and in the Spring.  I usually purchase a few things each sale (I try to keep it reasonable).  Here are the links to my Spring 2018 and Fall 2017 hauls.

I have already placed an order today and plan to go in at least once or twice and maybe make a second order online.  I’ll do a haul post at the end of the sale when I get every thing!

I couldn’t really find photos online, so I’ve photographed my add!

IMG_1954.JPG

Here are all of the beauty steals that you can get by day.  These are available in store and online.  There are also online deals each day in addition to these, so check the sale out on Ulta’s website!

The products in this ad that I’m thinking of purchasing are the Benefit Hula Lite bronzer on the 5th, the Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara on the 9th, the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette on the 16th and the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray on the 22nd. Plus online deals and some Hot Buys and Ulta Beauty deals below.

I placed an order today and I got an online only deal, the Lime Crime Venus Eyeshadow Palette in Venus III. All three Venus palettes are on sale online today for $19 (reg. price $38).  The Venus III is a purple toned palette and it looks really pretty. I also purchased a couple of Hot Buys:

IMG_1955.JPG

The Hot Buys are good for every day of the sale (or until they sell out).  I purchased an Anastasia Beverly Hills Blush Trio in Peachy Love and a Dose of Colors  Lip Gloss in Can You Not.

I haven’t tried anything by Dose of Colors, and have heard that their lip products are really nice. If I like it, I might buy another! I’m also interested in trying the Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape foundation in the hydrating formula and the Smashbox contour kits.

Ulta Beauty is also having special deals each week:

img_1957.jpgThese are great deal!  I added a Liquid Concealer to my order because I’ve heard it’s amazing! I will probably check out the Liquid Lipsticks and Bath bombs if I go into Ulta this week.  In week two, I’m interested in the Foundation Stick and in week three, the Brow Pencils, the Mascara and the Hand Soap.

I have a lot of skincare I’m testing now, but there are some skincare Hot Buys if you’re interested:

So there’s the sale!  I will be posting my haul after the sale is over, and I’ll show you what I get!

Are you planning on picking anything up in the next few weeks? What are you interested in?

Arbonne Essentials Vanilla Protein Shake Mix Review and Three Summer Detox Recipes

unnamed (23)

Hi all!  So, lately I’ve been trying to eat healthier and exercise more.  I haven’t been exercising as much as I should, but I have started to eat better. It’s hard for my to find something quick and nutritious in the morning, though.

Luckily, I received samples of the Arbonne Essentials® Vanilla Protein Shake Mix ($77, Arbonne.com) and have been making shakes in the morning. It provides 20g of  vegan  protein  to  help  support  muscles, plus  more  than 20  essential  vitamins  and  minerals  per  serving. Clinically tested and certified to have a low glycemic index, which has little effect on blood sugar levels and does not cause a spike in blood sugar.

I have been using the recipes below to add variety to my breakfasts.  I’ve tried the first two, but not the third one yet (I need to pick up some ingredients for it.  And I’ve made them without the Arbonne Daily Fiber Boost because I don’t have it.

Recovery Support Shake

Almond Butter Shake

Hearty Boosted Protein Shake

I really like the taste of the vanilla powder, which is the one I have. I made the first shake with fresh mango and love it.  I want to try it with banana next.

I found out by trying the second shade that I’m not a fan of almond butter (but I love almonds)!  I am going to try this with a little bit of natural peanut butter next.  I think it will be good.

I will be trying the third shake this week. I think it sounds good and different from the other two.

I would recommend this protein shake mix because it tastes good and keeps me full all morning.  It is pretty pricey, but it’s great quality! I want to try the chocolate shake mix next.

Have you tried any Arbonne nutrition products?  Which are your favorites?

Project Pan August-September 2018 — First Update

IMG_1925.JPG

Hi All!  I’m back with my first check in for my third quarter project pan in 2018.  This one is only two months long, because I took July off. You can see my first post with the products listed here.

This has been going pretty well as I have already panned three products:

IMG_1924

Sorry this is so dark!  The products I’ve panned are PUR No Filter Primer, Pacifica Crystal Power Hydro Mist and Reclaim Botanical Serum. I love all three of these products, but won’t be repurchasing them this year.  I have so much makeup and skincare and it will last me through the end of the year.

Here’s what I have left:

IMG_1921

Philosophy Hope in a Jar — I have about a 3rd of this left

Yes to Superblueberries Skin Recharging Yogurt Scrub and Mask — I have about a 4th of this left.

Reclaim Botanical Eye Cream — This is almost done, maybe a few more uses are left.

Botanics 100% Organic Refreshing Toning Spritz — I have about a week of this left.  I really love this spray!  It has a rosy-floral scent.

IMG_1923.JPG

Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25HR Breathable Foundation in 01 Classic Ivory — It’s really hard to tell on this one.  It could have a 3rd or 4th left in it, it’s hard to tell.

The Lavanila The Healthy Body Butter in Vanilla Grapefruit has just a few more uses in it.

The Tigi Bed Head After-Party still has a couple of weeks in it I think.

I will update again at the end of September and hopefully it will all be used up.  Wish me luck!

Have you done a project pan before?  How did it go?

August 2018 Beauty Favorites

It’s almost September! Yay! It has been a LONG, HOT summer and frankly, I’m glad it’s almost over!  My daughters have been in school for over two weeks now, so I’m ready for cooler weather and a change in my beauty routine!

Below are my favorites this month.  These are products I’ve been using all summer. I haven’t done a ton of reviews in August because I’ve been busy and I haven’t had many new products (I have a feeling that will change this fall!). Here are the one I have been loving most:

IMG_1914.JPG

Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Eyeshadow Palette ($42 USD) — I would think this would be a predictable favorite for many of us this month! I purchased this as soon as went on sale at Ulta.com.  I love purples shadow and I loved the packaging!  I wish this had more purples, but the ones in it are very pretty and you can make lots of natural looks with it.  There is a lot of kick up in the pans and their is fallout, but the shades blend well and are very pigmented!

Philosophy Pure Grace Endless Summer ($49 for 2 fl. oz EDT) — I have been loving this during the summer.  It’s citrusy and fresh at first, then the musk gives a sultry finish.  I received this in a set that includes a body lotion, but the set doesn’t seem to be on sale any more.  You can get the perfume still.  And I definitely recommend it!

jane iredale’s NEW Triple Luxe Long Lasting Naturally Moist Lipsticks ($35 each). These are actually new for fall and are a very new favorite for me! Each lipstick contains antioxidant-rich Moringa Oil to soothe and nourish, plus Tahitian Vanilla and Blackberry for subtly sweet, natural flavor. These are hydrating but feel really light on.  My fave shade is the one shown, Jackie (peachy pink). It’s pretty now for summer and will also look gorgeous with dramatic eyes in the fall.

Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder ($34 USD) — This gives me a matte look,  but isn’t dry on my skin.  That’s important to me as I age, and the fact is my face isn’t oily.  But it does get greasy in the summer when it’s so hot and humid.  The combo of this and the Urban Decay Chill setting spray really has kept my makeup in place all day during the hot weather.

Pixi Beauty Retinol Tonic (#15 USD) — This amazing toner features a unique time-release Retinol to help rejuvenate the skin for a natural glow.  Powerful antioxidants and botanicals replenish the skin for  a smoother, softer appearance. I love using this once a day (normally at night). It makes my sensitive a bit red at first, but then calms down and is so even-toned an smooth!  Plus my skin looks great in the morning!

Derma E Firming DMAE Cleanser ($15.50 USD) —  This has been my favorite cleanser for months now! It claims to cleanse away oil and makeup while supporting visibly firmer skin with this exclusive treatment cleanser. The formula contains skin-firming DMAE, antioxidants Alpha Lipoic Acid and C-Ester, calming Lemon Grass, Chamomile, natural astringents Horsetail and Horse Chestnut to be gentle on skin while encouraging healthy tone and texture. It doesn’t irritate my skin at all and cleanses so well while not drying out my skin.

So, those are my August faves.  What have you been loving this month?

New Makeup For Fall!

Hi all! Fall is just around the corner and I’m starting to do my fall makeup reviews.  I’m so excited because this is one of my favorite times of year!

Below are new fall products that I have been sent for my honest review:

jane iredale's NEW Triple Luxe Long Lasting Naturally Moist Lipsticks
jane iredale Triple Luxe Long Lasting Naturally Moist Lipsticks

Just launched is jane iredale’s NEW Triple Luxe Long Lasting Naturally Moist Lipsticks ($35 each). there are 15 fresh “power colors” in a breakthrough luxury, clean formula. From electric pink (Natalie) to fine wine (Ella) to bold red (Gwen) to made-for-you nudes (Gabby, Molly, Sharon, Tricia), each lip-loving shade uses antioxidant-rich Moringa Oil to soothe and nourish, plus Tahitian Vanilla and Blackberry for subtly sweet, natural flavor.

I love how these feel on. They are hydrating but feel really light on.  I do have to layer them to get an opaque look. I have these in Jackie (peachy pink), Rose (light merlot) and Ella (deep rose brown).  I love nude and lighter colors and Jackie is so pretty on!  I will wear the other two in the fall when I deepen my lip color.

Morgan Taylor Fall Safari Swatches
Morgan Taylor Fall Safari Swatches

Morgan Taylor Lacquer has just launched their African Safari collection for Fall 2018. Inspired by the sweeping landscape of a safari, the Fall collection embodies the rich earth tones of this destination. Brilliant pearls of sapphire, pewter, and garnet compliment saturated crèmes giving the entire collection the uninhibited feeling that anything can happen under the starry skies of the Serengeti. Here are the shades:

·        Are You Lion to Me? – Pewter Shimmer

·        Off The Grid – Black Brown Crème

·        No Cell? Oh Well! – Sapphire Blue Pearl

·        Wanna Share a Tent? – Garnet Red Pearl

These are all gorgeous for fall! I find that Morgan Taylor Lacquers apply easily and stays on for days! I love deeper polishes going into the cooler seasons and am exited to have these shades to play with!

IMG_1781

I just received these these gorgeous Hard Candy eye shadow palettes and have been testing them out.  The shadows are nice, but they do take some building up to get pigment. When I do build them up, they look so pretty all day! And there is little kick up in the pan or fall out on the eyes!

The Neutral Eyes are new for fall, so I don’t know if it is available for sale now, but the Hard Candy Pro Palette Glitter ($10 USD) and the Hard Candy Pro Palette in Mauve($8 USD) are available at Walmart.com.

What do you love about fall?

I am really looking forward to fall, but it’s still summer! And while the weather is still warm and the sun is shining, I want to wear bright colors!

WUNDERKISS GLOSS LIP LINER
Wunder2 Wunderkiss Gloss Lip Liner

Wunder2 Wunderkiss Gloss Lip Liner ($11.95 USD) — This liner is created to be used with  lip gloss! The liner is very smooth and easy to use. The claim is that it can be used to  create a beautiful, long-lasting lip contour that keeps your lip gloss in place. I find that it does just that.  My gloss looks fresh for longer. Available in 3 shades — Nude, Rose and Berry.  I love the Nude, but the Rose is so pretty, too!  The Berry is a little dark for me, but I might try it in the fall.

Purchase at www.wunder2.com

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sunset Splash Collection

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sunset Splash Collection

I have been loving these Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sunset Splash Collection for my end of summer nails looks. Give your nails a gradient summer splash with the “Sunset Splash” collection which features 6 shades. From glamorous sunset sky to glitter gradients this collection definitely has you covered. I love doing an ombre look with these or I use a cream like Smartease and add a shimmer or glitter accent like Metro Midnight. Plus since I use these with their gel top coat, they stay looking amazing for about a week!

What products are you loving now? Are you still wearing summer products or are you all about fall?

BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review –August 2018

IMG_1789

I received my August BoxyCharm so early this month. I’m very excited about that!

Boxycharm is just $21 a month for 5-6 beauty items, most of them full-sized.  It’s an amazing way to try new makeup and beauty tools!

This month I received:

IMG_1793

IMG_1794.JPG

I was so happy to get these eye masks! I have seen them reviewed and thought they looked fun!  They are gold foil on the outside and a cellulose fiber that delivers hyaluronic acid and more! They look so cute on and when I removed them, my eyes looked amazing!  Very smooth, bright, and my dark circles were reduced! Love!

IMG_1795.JPG

The style of these lashes are Siren.  I don’t wear lashes, but they are pretty.  The band is really thin and I think these would actually fit my eyes.  These might come in handy later, so I’ll hang on to them.

img_1796.jpg

This Adesse New York oil includes Vitamin E, shea oil, sweet almond, and jojoba oils.  This has a light scent.  I haven’t used it yet because I have a cuticle oil I forget to use. I think I might give this away.

IMG_1799IMG_1800

After I received this palette, I told my daughter who is leaving for college that I had a nice, neutral palette for her.  Then I showed her this.  She laughed so hard!

This palette is very good quality.  It has sturdy packaging and a really nice mirror. The colors are obviously very bright.  I am going to try them out soon and may do a review of the palette alone.

I will have swatches of this, the brow cream and the lipstick below.

IMG_1797

Bang Beauty Chocolate Eyeliner — I don’t usually use eyeliner.  I use shadow to line my eyes.  But I do like gel eyeliner.  I don’t wear black often, so this might be nice for every day. I will try this out.  (But I don’t think it will work with the bright Laura Lee palette)!  IMG_1798

Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Action, vivid orchid cream.  This is such a creamy lipstick that feels so good on! And the color is so pretty.  But it’s not really for me.  I like nudes or pinks.  I have tried it out, so I will keep it.  Who knows, I might use it (and this will go with the Laura Lee palette!)

Here are my swatches:

IMG_1803.JPG

On the left is the eyeliner.  I should have applied it with a brush because it was hard to do with my finger.  You can see the color and it was really difficult to remove so it  would probably last a long time on the eyes.

The lipstick is next.  It’s really pretty.  The next 6 shades are Laura Lee’s palette. From left to right is Issa Party, Damage Control, Karaoke, Dranks, Bottoms Up and Hungover.  I have tried one shade, Hungover in my crease, outer corner and under my eyes.  And it was gorgeous!  So I’m kind of excited about the crazy colors.

I think this month was okay.  I will use all of the eye masks and I’ll try out the palette and eyeliner.  I’ll keep the lipstick or give it to my daughter.  I’ll hold on to the lashes just in case I need them.  I will probably give the nail oil away.  I usually don’t keep as many products out of my BoxyCharm. So while I’m not blown away by anything, I will use some of it.

What do you think of these products?  Do you get BoxyCharm?  What did you receive?
