Maybelline Super Stay Multi-Use Foundation Stick Review

IMG_2245

Hi All! I hope you are having an amazing weekend!  I’m back with a foundation review.  I don’t review a lot of foundations, because I only have one face!

I was so excited to get the  Maybelline Super Stay Multi-Use Foundation Stick for my honest review.  I’ve been wanting to try this!  Here’s a close look at the shades I received:

IMG_2247

These are 110 Porcelain, 120 Classic Ivory, 130 Buff Beige, 220 Natural Beige, 312 Golden, 330 Toffee, and 360 Mocha. You can probably tell that I have been using 120.  It’s a really good match for me.

Here’s  close up of the stick and sponge:IMG_2249

And here are a few swatches:

IMG_2248

The Maybelline New York Super Stay Multi-Use Foundation Stick ($11.99 USD) allows you to perfect the ‘no-makeup’ makeup look by offering a lightweight formula to create a flawlessly natural complexion.

This foundation is easy to use, I just swipe the stick on my face and blend in with a brush or sponge.  It gives a natural look, I’d say it’s a medium coverage. I did try to blend with the sponge end, but it’s really rough and I didn’t care much for it, even when I wet it. It will work okay in a pinch, though.

I also want to say that darker and lighter shades can be used for concealer, highlighter and contour.  They are so creamy and blend out really well!

I have to say that the only con in this foundation, besides the sponge, is that there is not a lot of product. It’s only .25 oz or 7 g.  I do know that stick foundations can’t carry a lot of product in them, but if they removed the sponge there would be more room. I have used it exclusively for a couple of weeks, and there is only about half of the stick left.  I am saving it for a trip I’m going on soon because I know it will travel so well!

I can say I will probably purchase this again, but  I do hope they change up the packaging and add more product!

The Maybelline New York Super Stay Multi-Use Foundation Stick is available now at mass market retailers in 16 shades.

Have you tried this foundation?  What’s your favorite stick foundation?

Beauty Mask Review — Dr.Jart+ Dermask Ultra Jet Peeling Solution Mask

Dr.Jart+_s Dermask Ultrajet Peeling Solution Mask

I tried an new face mask, which is so exciting.  It made me think, maybe I should start a new series where I review face masks.  I think it could be fun!

This is the newest addition to Dr.Jart+’s famed Dermask Collection, the Ultrajet Peeling Solution Mask ($9 USD). Here is the info on it:

This 2-step sheet mask is formulated with a rich bubbling formula, composed of carbonic acid powder infused with carbon dioxide, to help deeply penetrate and clear out pores. It also uses a blend of sugar scrub and fruit acids, including papaya enzymes help to gently resurface skin and even out the complexion, leaving it soft and balanced. The perfect repair mask after a summer of sun!

This was interesting and I’m still trying to figure it out.  I applied the scrub first.  My face was dry, but I am wondering if it should have been damp. I rubbed it in a bit and applied the sheet mask. I left it on for 5 minutes (the instruction say 3-5 minutes).  It didn’t bubble up at all.  After 5 minutes, I removed the mask and rinsed off the scrub. My skin looked good afterwards.  The mask didn’t irritate my sensitive skin and my skin looked pretty smooth. My pores did look a little less noticeable, too.

This was a quick and easy mask.  It did smooth out my skin. I’d like to try more Dr. Jart+ masks.

Have you tried this or any Dr. Jart+ masks?

Available now at Sephora and Sephora.com.

Rimmel London Magnif’Eyes Products For Rich Fall Looks

IMG_2159.JPG

Hi all! I hope your October is going well! I recently received some fun Rimmel London eye products to test and review.  They are the Magnif’Eyes Palette Crimson Edition and the Magnif’Eyes Double Ended Shadow + Liner.  These are both great for creating fun fall looks!

IMG_2160IMG_2161

This gorgeous palette retails for under $8! It is really pigmented and the colors are very on trend! Rimmel has actually extended their popular 12 pan Magnif’Eyes Palette Collection with 4 NEW styles. They are Crimson, Electric Violet, Jewel Rocks and Wow. The full range of Magnif’Eyes Palettes has 9 different styles to craft endless looks.

IMG_2170
Here are my swatches.  They  swatch nicely and perform well on the eyes. You can make a complete pink, red or brown look with this, or mix and match the shades. I do have a lot of palettes in this shade range, but I like that this is affordable.

I also find the mattes really blendable, which is nice.  The shimmers need to be wettened by setting spray to really show up on the eyes.  You can also use your fingers.

IMG_2171.JPG

These are the Rimmel London Magnif’Eyes Double Ended Shadow + Liner.  This retails for around $6.50. You can create an easy look by using the line end to line your waterline and shape your eye.  Second, shade in the shadow all over lid and smudge out using your finger. The long lasting formula claims to be waterproof, crease proof and transfer proof.

IMG_2172

The shades I have left to right is Pink and Purple Rain, Kissed by a Rose Gold and Dark Side of Blue.

I am in LOVE with the first two shades!  The shadows dry down really fast and do not budge!  The liners take a little more time to dry, but they dry down completely, too. I don’t wear a ton of eyeliner, so a lot of times I like to use the shadow to add shimmer to an eye look.  I dab it on my eye and lightly tap it in.  You can make a fast faux halo or cut crease with these, because they are so opaque.

I do recommend both of these Rimmel London products.  They are affordable and are of great quality!

Availability: Mass retailers and drugstores

Have you tried either of these products?

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Review — October 2018

IMG_2274

Hi all!  I’m so excited that I received my first Ipsy Glam Bag Plus ($25 USD) –October is the first month for the Glam Bag Plus.  It is a box that will always include 5 full-sized items. The first month has six items but I believe each month after that will have 5.

I had looked in my Ipsy account and saw what I was getting.  At first I wasn’t that excited, but the more I looked, the more I got excited for it!  For $25 a month, this is such a good bag!

Here is what I received:

IMG_2280

IMG_2290.JPG

Each quarter, Ipsy Glam Bag plus subscribers will get a premium makeup bag in addition to their 5 items. (That means you’ll receive a box of 5 beauty items every month, but a glam bag only once every 3 boxes.) This one is a soft pink color and has burgundy accents.  It’s really nice quality.

img_2288.jpg

I don’t wear liquid liner or do wings.  If I wear a liner I like to smudge a brown or plum liner on my lash line.  I don’t wear black because it’s too harsh on me.  So I’ll probably be giving this to my daughter.

img_2287.jpg

I enjoy tarte mascaras, but I haven’t tried this one yet.  It claims to define lashes without clumps.  And you can build up to lengthen and volumize. I’m looking forward to trying it!

IMG_2286

This is one of the products I was really excited about!  This is an exfoliating mask that is supposed to be gentle.  I do have sensitive skin and hope it works well for me.

I have never tried Morphe makeup before, and have just one brush from the brand. So I was very excited to try this.  I’ve tried it a couple of times and am trying to figure out if I like it. It’s very metallic and shows texture.  I do like the color, though.

img_2285.jpg

This was another item I was looking forward to trying.  I haven’t tried anything from this brand either.  This is so hydrating and the shade is beautiful! This is a total win!

IMG_2281

IMG_2282

This is an item I wasn’t really excited for and i was thinking of giving it away — and then I saw Andrea Matillano swatch this on You Tube.  And I changed my mind!  It is gorgeous.  I am hoping to review it and I will swatch it if I do.

So, maybe I wasn’t as excited when I first saw what I was getting, but I really liked this box! I will keep the eye shadow, mascara, mask, and lip butter.  I might keep the highlighter, or give it away and I will giveaway the eyeliner.  And I will keep the pretty bag!

Did you get Ipsy Glam Bag Plus this month?  What did you think and what did you get?

BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review — October 2018

img_2267.jpg

Hi all! I received my October BoxyCharm this week.  I always watch for spoilers so I have an idea what I’ll be getting.  And I was pretty excited for it. I am still waiting to be taken off of the waiting list for their larger box called BoxyLuxe.  Hopefully I’ll be off for the December BoxyLuxe (it’s every three months).

Regular Boxycharm is just $21 a month for 5-6 beauty items, most of them full-sized.  It is a nice  way to try new makeup and beauty tools.

This month I received:

img_2268.jpg

I’m really happy with this box! I got items I wanted to try.

img_2270.jpg

I love the Superhero mascara!  I have used it many times before and love how long and full my lashes are when I use it.

I don’t think I’ve tried anything by Kat Von D before.  It’s not really a brand that appeals to me. But I was looking forward to trying this.  Here’s a swatch:

img_2271.jpg

The shade I received is Bow N Arrow.  On the Sephora website it’s described as a fawn nude.  That’s accurate I think.  The color is a bit dark on me, but I kind of like it for fall.  I’m trying to decide if I will keep it or give it to my daughter.  I don’t wear matte liquid lipsticks often, but I do like them under lip glosses.  So i will keep trying it and see.

IMG_2269

I was so excited about this Brigeo leave-in mask!  I just used up my leave in conditioner, and now I don’t have to run out and grab something!  I’ve used it and it makes my hair so soft!

I have not tried the mask yet.  There is a tube of the peel of gel and two lace masks in it.  My skin has been really sensitive lately, so I’m going to wait to try this. It looks really cool, though!

IMG_2292.JPGIMG_2293

Look how pretty this palette is! I think this is really fun for October and Halloween. The face shades are so pretty and the shades are very dramatic!  I’m trying to decide if I want to keep this or give it to a friend for the holidays…hmm.  I just have so many palettes right now!

So the verdict on this box is it’s very good!  Much better than the last few.  I will keep the mascara, briogeo spray, lace mask and maybe the liquid lipstick and palette.  Pretty good!

I’ll be reviewing my Ipsy Glam Bag Plus soon — and it’s pretty great, too!  October is a great month for my beauty boxes!

Did you get BoxyCharm this month?  What did you get in your box?

Brand Review — bareMinerals

IMG_2183

Happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is going well!

I was recently sent some bareMinerals products for my honest review. The products I received are in the photo above. I’ve taken individual photos of all of the products, except for the Original Loose Powder Foundation with SPF 15 ($29 USD) — I forgot!  So I’ll review it first.

I’ve tried this foundation years ago and liked it.  It was the first powder foundation I tired. It’s a bit drying on my skin, but if I moisturize and use a hydrating primer, it looks really nice on.  This is nice for when I want a more natural look and works so well before I go to the gym.  I like having some makeup on, and this stays put through my work out!  I also love that it has SPF and gives the skin a little glow!

IMG_2188.JPG

Complexion Rescue Defense ($39 USD) — All-in-one lightweight hydrating veil protects skin from indoor and outdoor light damage, evens skin tone and adds radiance. This also has SPF 30.  This is so nice under the original loose powder foundation.  It hydrates the skin and since there’s a glow under the foundation, it looks less dry on. This is also nice on it’s own.

img_2189.jpg

BarePRO Glow Highlighter in Joy ($28 USD) — Cleanly formulated for long-wearing luminosity, this face highlighter can be worn three ways for a truly customized glow that lasts up to 16 hours. With light-reflecting mineral pearls, this versatile formula provides a natural-looking luminosity when worn as highlighter makeup, and can be mixed into your favorite liquid foundation, tinted moisturizer or skincare products to add a customized level of glow to your entire face.

I know this looks awfully pink in the bottle, but it gives such a pretty rosy/peachy glow.  It’s really pretty on the cheeks and eyes, too!

IMG_2192

Gen Nude Eyeshadow Palette in Neutral ($29 USD) — This is an amazing eyeshadow palette for everyday wear.  It has six long lasting neutral eyeshadows for every skin tone.

This palette has 4 mattes and 2 shimmers.  They are very easy to blend and look really pretty on.  And they do last all day!  There is also a little sheet with look ideas enclosed that are fun to try. Even though this is very neutral, there are a lot of different looks you can make with the 6 shades.

img_2186.jpg

Gen Nude Powder Blush in Bellini Brunch, Beige for Days and On The Mauve ($24 USD each) —  This weightless blush comes in 12 amped up nude shades that mimic a natural flush. The good-for-skin, ultra-creamy formula is long lasting, blendable, and features the new Blurring Mineral Complex for a brightening, soft-focus effect.

I really like these blushes, especially On The Mauve.  It’s so gorgeous for fall, actually all of the shades above are! The blushes apply really smoothly and are well pigmented.

IMG_2187

Gen Nude® Patent Lip Lacquer in Can’t Even and Bae ($19 USD each) — This high gloss liquid lipstick has a cushiony, hydrating formula that  features the Moisturizing Mineral Complex to help keep lips soft, while a dual-sided applicator smooths on full coverage with one swipe.

These are so fun, they are super opaque and really glossy, too. And they aren’t too sticky, which is really important to me when wearing something glossy. The shades are nice, too!

I really are loving these products!  I’m so glad I got to try other products besides the foundation.  I’d say my favorites are the eyeshadow palette, the blushes and the lip lacquers.

Have you tried bareMinerals lately?  Which products do you love?

Project Pan October-December 2018

img_2202.jpg

I’m back with my final Project Pan of the year!  I’m pretty proud that I’ve done three so far!

As you can see from the photo above, I have 5 makeup items this time and 5 skincare products. This is the most makeup products I’ve had in a pan so far.  Hopefully I’ll get through them all! Here are the products I’ve chosen:

img_2205.jpg

These are the LORAC Mod Lip Gloss from the Beauty and the Beast Collection that launched last year.  These shades are Savoir Faire (nude peachy rose), True Beauty (pale mauve) and Belle-ieve (nude).  I’ve had these for abut a year, so they are at the end of their life span!  They are very hydrating (not sticky at all) and are so pretty alone or over a lipstick.

I’ve recently purchased and received a bunch of lip glosses, so I need to use these up.  I would say they are about half or 3/4 used up, so hopefully I can get through all three by the end of the year.  I am trying to use them every day, and even multiple times a day since they are so hydrating.

img_2206.jpg

Here are swatches of the glosses — Savoir Faire, True Beauty, and Belle-ieve. I love all three shades!

IMG_2207

I am trying to pan two concealers. The top one is Colourpop No Filter Conealer in Light 12 and Flower Beauty Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer in Light.  I’m trying to use up my concealers, because there are so many new concealers that have been released that I want to try. But I don’t want to buy any until I use up a few!

These are both nice, here are swatches:

IMG_2208.JPG

The left is the Flower Beauty one and the right is the Colourpop.  The Flower Beauty concealer is more moisturizing and the Colourpop is more matte.  They are both really nice and I eventually might buy them both again.  I actually have a back up of the Flower Beauty one, but it’s in a different shade, I think Fair.  Which will work out in the winter when I am paler.

I think the Flower Beauty once is only about a 3rd full and the Colourpop Concealer is about half full.

img_2210.jpg

Now on to the skincare!  Left to right is Derma-E Firming DMAE Cleanser, Yes to Cotton anti-pollution Oxygenated Facial Mask, and the Talika Eye Dream.

The Derma-E cleanser is so nice.  It cleans without drying and leaves my skin soft and firm!  It’s about half full.  The Yes to Cotton mask is almost full, so I need to use it a few times a week to empty it by the end of the year.  I just have so many masks I need to start using. The Talika eye cream is hydrating without being greasy.  It’s about half for 3/4 full.

IMG_2211Last but not least are these products by Pixi Beauty.  The Retinol tonic is over half full and the wonderful Rose Glow Mist is under half full.  I have lots of mists and need to use some up!

So that’s my 4th and last Project Pan of the year! I’ll be doing updates and hopefully I will use it all up!

I’m still deciding if I’ll do this again next year…we’ll see!

Project Pan August-September 2018 – Final Update

img_2201.jpg

Hi all! I’m here with my final update on my 3rd quarter 2018 Project Pan.  I am happy to say that I used everything up!  Here is my first post, and you can see my update here.

Here is the list of the products that I panned:

Principal Secret Reclaim Botanical Radiant Recovery Fluid Eye Cream                     Principal Secret Reclaim Botanical Synant Peptide Serum                               Philosophy hope in a jar Moisturizer                                                                                           Yes to Superblueberries Recharging Greek Yogurt & Probiotics 3-in-1 Mask, Scrub & Cleanser                                                                                                                          Botanics 100% Organic Refreshing Toning Spritz                                              Pacifica Crystal Power Hydro Mist                                                                                      PÜR No Filter Blurring Photography Primer                                                                    Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25HR Breathable Foundation                                     Lavanila The Healthy Body Butter in Vanilla Grapefruit                                                       TIGI Bed Head After-Party

I have to say that it’s so much easier to use up skincare than makeup, but it soes get tedious using the same products every day!  I love variety.  But I did it, and I’m very proud.

I also want to say that I liked all of these products, but I’m not going out to repurchase  any of them right now.  I have lots of skincare to try out and I’m good for now on body butter.  I do love Lavanila and will purchase in the future.

The PÜR primer and the Rimmel foundation are both nice, but not my holy grails.  I’ve been needing a pore filling primer lately because my allergies have been acting up and my face is read and my pores are huge! The PÜR primer is very glowy and accentuates my pores.  It would be great in the winter when my skin is dry.  The foundation is light coverage, and I like more of a medium coverage.

The one product that I am really missing is the TIGI AfterParty.  It really helped control my frizz and made my hair look shiny.  I might have to go get another one!

So I am going to do one more Project Pan this year.  I’ll be posting it  in a few days. I don’t know if I’m going to do it next hear, but we’ll see!

Skincare Picks For Fall From Derma E, Klairs and Meaningful Beauty

Hi all! It’s October and the weather either has or will be turning colder soon! In Kansas City, one day it’s in the 80’s the and the next it’s in the 60’s. It’s been crazy!

When the weather does change, I also like to change up my skincare. My sensitive skin gets drier and I am already seeing dry patches.  Here are the products I have been testing out and they have been sent for my honest review:

IMG_2147

DERMA E Very Clear Acne Cleanser ($15.50 USD) and Very Clear Acne Spot Treatment ($11.50 USD) — These are both great products for helping acne-prone skin.

The cleanser is great for removing built-up oil and makeup to help unclog pores, promote clear skin and prevent breakouts. It contains an Anti-Blemish Complex of natural ingredients Tea Tree, Willow Bark, Rosewood, Lavender and Chamomile and delivers natural antibacterial and antiseptic properties leaving skin purer, clearer and healthier. I love how clean it leaves my skin without stripping it!

Even thought I do have clogged pores, I don’t break out as often anymore, but the acne spot treatment helps clear up those surprise pimples that come out of nowhere!  It delivers natural antibacterial and antiseptic properties to help clear the complexion and prevent blemishes while reducing redness and sensitivity. It may be used as often as necessary whenever breakouts occur to calm and soothe red, irritated skin.  I love that it’s not harsh!

Purchase at dermae.com

IMG_2043

KLAIRS Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 ($23 USD) — This is an everyday sun protector for sensitive skin, which I have. As is it water-based, it holds a gel-type texture to give a soft weightless and light finish. Also with its high SPF and PA level, it completely guards the skin against UVA, UVB without leaving any greasiness or white cast.

I have been using this every morning.  It sinks right in to my skin and is a great base for primer and foundation.  It doesn’t really have a scent and it is so nice on my very sensitive skin! Since it isn’t heavy, I think this is perfect for using all year long.  It is so important to wear SPF every day!

You can purchase this on Wishtrend.  This is an affiliate link.

IMG_2155

Meaningful Beauty is such a gorgeous brand!  This is Cindy Crawfords line of anti-aging products.  The line has lots of different products from cleansers, to moisturizers to treatments.

The products from left to right are the Environmental Protecting Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen,  Youth Activating Melon Serum, Overnight Retinol Repairing Crème, Skin Softening Cleanser.

These are all so nice and work well with my sensitive skin!  The cleanser is easy to use and doesn’t dry out my skin. The day cream is very nice, and we all know that SPF is very important! The serum is very luxurious! It sinks into the skin quickly and leaves skin glowing!  I’ve noticed that my lines have become less noticeable. It could also be the wonderful retinol night cream.  That really makes my skin look smoother and clearer.

You can purchase these at www.meaningfulbeauty.com or Ulta.com.
