Project Pan October-December 2018

img_2202.jpg

I’m back with my final Project Pan of the year!¬† I’m pretty proud that I’ve done three so far!

As you can see from the photo above, I have 5 makeup items this time and 5 skincare products. This is the most makeup products I’ve had in a pan so far.¬† Hopefully I’ll get through them all! Here are the products I’ve chosen:

img_2205.jpg

These are the LORAC Mod Lip Gloss from the Beauty and the Beast Collection that launched last year.¬† These shades are¬†Savoir Faire (nude peachy rose),¬†True Beauty (pale mauve) and¬†Belle-ieve (nude).¬† I’ve had these for abut a year, so they are at the end of their life span!¬† They are very hydrating (not sticky at all) and are so pretty alone or over a lipstick.

I’ve recently purchased and received a bunch of lip glosses, so I need to use these up.¬† I would say they are about half or 3/4 used up, so hopefully I can get through all three by the end of the year.¬† I am trying to use them every day, and even multiple times a day since they are so hydrating.

Here are swatches of the glosses —¬†Savoir Faire,¬†True Beauty, and¬†Belle-ieve. I love all three shades!

I am trying to pan two concealers. The top one is Colourpop No Filter Conealer in Light 12 and Flower Beauty Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer in Light.¬† I’m trying to use up my concealers, because there are so many new concealers that have been released that I want to try. But I don’t want to buy any until I use up a few!

These are both nice, here are swatches:

IMG_2208.JPG

The left is the Flower Beauty one and the right is the Colourpop.¬† The Flower Beauty concealer is more moisturizing and the Colourpop is more matte.¬† They are both really nice and I eventually might buy them both again.¬† I actually have a back up of the Flower Beauty one, but it’s in a different shade, I think Fair.¬† Which will work out in the winter when I am paler.

I think the Flower Beauty once is only about a 3rd full and the Colourpop Concealer is about half full.

Now on to the skincare!  Left to right is Derma-E Firming DMAE Cleanser, Yes to Cotton anti-pollution Oxygenated Facial Mask, and the Talika Eye Dream.

The Derma-E cleanser is so nice.¬† It cleans without drying and leaves my skin soft and firm!¬† It’s about half full.¬† The Yes to Cotton mask is almost full, so I need to use it a few times a week to empty it by the end of the year.¬† I just have so many masks I need to start using. The Talika eye cream is hydrating without being greasy.¬† It’s about half for 3/4 full.

IMG_2211Last but not least are these products by Pixi Beauty.  The Retinol tonic is over half full and the wonderful Rose Glow Mist is under half full.  I have lots of mists and need to use some up!

So that’s my 4th and last Project Pan of the year! I’ll be doing updates and hopefully I will use it all up!

I’m still deciding if I’ll do this again next year…we’ll see!

May 2018 Beauty Favorites

IMG_1221

May has flown by!¬† It was a busy month, and I am looking forward to lazy summer months!¬† June is my birthday month, and it’s a big one (drumroll please) … the big 5 0!

That is crazy to think about, but I’m looking forward to a new decade to explore!¬† My birthday is June 10th, and this weekend I think I’m going to do a birthday beauty wish list.¬† No one buys me makeup, but it won’t hurt to put it out there!¬† Maybe I’ll buy mystelf something nice.

On to my May faves! This month, I have loved the following gorgeous makeup:

Flower Beauty Light Illusion Liquid Foundation ($13.99 USD) —¬† This foundation is medium coverage, which is what I like!¬† I mix two shades Ivory L2 and Nude L3 for my perfect shade. It feels very weightless on and gives me a natural finish.¬† I wouldn’t say its dewy or matte, just looks like my skin, but way better!

Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume Mascara ($8.99 USD) — I received this in a gift with purchase at Ulta.¬† I haven’t used it in years, and realized how great it still is!¬†I usually go for lengthening mascara, but this one gives me length as well as the promised volume.¬† And it doesn’t flake or smear!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette¬†($42 USD)¬† — A day to night palette with fourteen shades, including essential mattes and glam shimmers. I just bought this a couple of weeks ago, and it is really growing on me.¬† I seem to be doing the same look over and over with it, which isn’t like me at all! But, I’m hoping to try more looks and hopefully I will find it more versatile than I think it is!¬† I will be reviewing this very soon (plus the Too Faced¬†Life’s A Festival Eye Shadow Palette I keep saying I’m going to review!).
ColourPop Ultra Blotted Lip in Love Bite (pinky nude) and Ultra Glossy Lip in Just Surfed
(warm beige gloss drenched in silver and pink glitter) $6 each.¬† These are from the ColourPop and Eva Gutowski collaboration. I can’t wear matte lipstick alone because my lips get to dry, but with a gloss over it, I love them!¬† This looks gorgeous together and lasts for hours!¬† I need to pick up more Ultra Blotted and Glossy Lips stat!

Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer ($14.99 USD) —¬† I bought this a couple of months ago after giving into the hype, and I’m so glad I did!¬† At first, the scent was a little strong for me, but I am used to it now.¬† The color is gorgeous and applies so smoothly on.¬† It’s the only bronzer I am currently using.

What are you loving this month?  Anything new and fun, or something that you have rediscovered?

Brand Review — Flower Beauty

IMG_0976

Happy Monday!  I was recently sent Flower Beauty products for my honest review. Flower Beauty was founded by Drew Barrymore to give women the best quality makeup at affordable prices.

I haven’t reviewed Flower Beauty for a few years, and have been wanting to try some of their current products.¬†IMG_0977

I was so excited to try this foundation! I’ve heard really good things about it.¬†Light Illusion Liquid Foundation ($13.99 USD) —¬† This claims to have buildable coverage, while imparting your skin with the most flattering soft luminosity imaginable. All with a weightless, nude skin feel. Imperfections and uneven skintone are diminished. Only a flawless, smooth, and incredibly natural complexion is revealed.

I do really like this!¬† I received the four lightest shades (above)¬† They all kind of look the same in the bottle.¬† But they are different.¬† Right now my perfect shade is a mixture of Ivory L2 and Nude L3.¬† The L2 is a bit light and the L3 is a bit warm, so together, they are perfect!¬† I think Warm Beige L4 will work when I faux tan, and I’l probably give Porcelain¬†L1 to my daughter.

This is about medium coverage, which I like.¬† I don’t enjoy full coverage, it feels like I’m wearing a mask.¬† ¬†It does have a little bit of an illumination, but it doesn’t make my skin shiny.¬† My skin has felt dry lately, and this is so comfortable on.¬† And it lasts for hours, too!

Available in 12 skin-perfecting shades.

I love trying new concealers.¬† These are the Flower Beauty¬†Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer¬† ($9.99 USD). This contains blurring pigments to help diffuse dark circles under the eyes.¬† It’s full coverage, dries down quickly and gives a hint of illumination.¬† The formula contains an infusion aloe, chamomile extract and caffeine.

The shades above are Fair on the left and Light on the right.  I am using Fair now and will probably use Light in the summer, when I have a bit of a tan.  Four darker shades are also available.

FLOWER Beauty’s Seal The Deal Long-Lasting Setting Spray¬†($12.99 USD) creates a sweat-proof & rub-resistant barrier that maintains your makeup for a fresh just-applied look that lasts all day. The invisible formula will keep your skin looking beautifully matte all day long.

This has a fine mister and feels so good when applied. I have noticed that it helps keep my makeup fresh.¬† I’ll probably use it more in the summer, when it’s hot and humid and I need to mattify.¬† My skin is usually a little dry, but not in the Kansas City summers!

Lift & Sculpt Contouring Palette ($14 USD) is the perfect all-in-1 tool to define your face in a flash! The powders blend easily and layer together seamlessly for a professional sculpted effect.

I have the Light to Medium kit.¬† I believe it’s also available in Medium to Deep.¬† Here are swatches:

img_0984.jpg

The bronzer and blush are a bit powdery and there’s some kick up in the pan.¬† They are really pretty, though, and look nice on my cheeks.¬† The highlighter is gorgeous!¬† It’s a creamy powder and can be very blinding!

IMG_0981

FLOWER Beauty’s Petal Pout Lip Colors ($8.99 USD)¬† Pure color pigments apply smoothly, while conditioning & protecting lips with healthy antioxidants. Available in a soft matte and cream finish that wear comfortably all day long. With a spectrum of luxurious shades from bold to nearly nude, there is a perfect shade for every look and occasion.

I love the packaging of these, and all of the Flower Beauty products.  They are an amazing mix of fun and elegance.

img_0982.jpg

The shades are 015 Peachy Nude, a cream and 120 Fuchsia Flush, a matte. Peachy Nude is more my shade, because I like lighter colors.  The formula is very hydrating.  The matte one is nice, too.  I might pick that up in a lighter shade.  There is a matte color called Naked Blush that looks amazing!

Flower Beauty is available at Ulta Stores and Ulta.com
