Project Pan August-September 2018

Hey all! I’m back with my third project pan of the year! I’ve been doing quarterly pans, but I took a month off. So this third pan is only two months.

The products below are mostly skincare, with some makeup and other products thrown in!

I have chosen 10 products for my 2 month pan. Most of these are at least half way full, so I should be able get through most of them!

Here is a description of each product and what I think of it. Buckle up, this is going to be a long one!

Both of these are from Victoria Principal’s natural skincare line Principal Secret Reclaim Botanical. I have been loving products from this line. So great for aging skin and I love that they are good for me! They are almost used up so they should be empty by the end of the pan.

I have had the the hope in a jar for a while now and need to use it up. It looks thick, but turns into a lighter cream once applied. It’s really nice for the summer. This jar is pretty full (as is the Yes to mask) so I need to make an effort to use it up.

The yes to superblueberries mask/scrub/cleanser is really creamy and sticks to my skin, so it works best as a mask, then wiped off with a damp towel. It leaves my skin so soft and glowy!

I love both of these mists, but I have SO many mists right now, I need to use some up! I use the Botanics mist (which smells like rose) after I wash my face and before my skincare, and the Pacifica mist (which smells like watermelon) before and after applying makeup. They smell amazing and are so refreshing!

The primer is looks shimmery first, but when applied well, it blurs all imperfections and skin looks so smooth! It’s really hydrating, too.

The foundation is a medium coverage which I love for everyday. It’s a little glowy and hydrating, which I need right now. My skin is a little dry.

I love Lavanila Body Butter. It is super hydrating and always smells amazing. This is about half full.

The Tigi hair cream is so good on my frizzy hair! It also makes my hair soft and shiny. I have been using this for a while, and there isn’t a lot left.

So there are my products for my third Project Pan of 2018. I have less than two months to use these up. I should be able to do it!

Gorgeous Glowing Summer Products!

Hi All! August is here and summer is still going strong. I’m not a big fan of the heat and humidity, but I do like the glow of summer makeup and fun colors on my eyes and nails.

Here are some of the products I have been enjoying using:

Rimmel London Wonder Wing Eyeliner Stamp ($6.99 USD) — I have not mastered winged eyeliner. In fact, I’m pretty terrible at it. That’s why I was excited to try this liner. The end of the liner has a long triangle shape to stamp a wing. And that does work, but it takes practice. There is a point at the end to use it as a liner, but it bleeds onto my eye. My trick is to use the stamp for the wing and connect it with a gel pen or eyeliner pencil.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Summer Solstice Collection features 8 new, exotic shades. Plus, it’s great to wear on vacation and it lasts and lasts. Here are the shades:

Jergens Instant Sun Sunless Tanning Mousse ($11.99 USD) — I love this easy to use self tanner! Just apply this mousse to the body and let dry. Then you can dress and go.
Color will develop instantly and deepen over the next several hours. Use once for natural-looking color and repeat the next day if deeper color is desired. Availalbe in two shades — Light Bronze and Deep Bronze.

WUNDER2 Perfect Selfie HD Photo Finishing Powder ($22 USD) — I have this powder in the Bronzing Veil. It is a buildable finish that smooths the skin and has a nice warm tone. Perfect for a summer glow. This is also available in a Translucent finishing powder.

WUNDER2 Super-Stay Liquid Eyeliner ($15.95 USD) — This liquid liner is so easy to use. July 2018 Beauty Favorites

I can’t believe it’s August! It has been hot in Kansas City since mid-May so I am ready for summer to be over. My youngest daughter is starting high school in two weeks as my middle daughter goes off to college. So many changes!

And so many choices — at least for my fave July products. I loved so many makeup products this month. Here they are:

I have been testing so much awesome new makeup in the last couple of months, so I chose more favorites than usual this month.

Urban Decay Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette — I received this for my birthday in June and have been loving it since! There is such a great variety of shades. The shadows are so buttery and blend well, too. It will work nicely in the fall and winter months because there are some gorgeous plums and greens.

Alamar Cosmetics Reina del Caribe Vol.1 — This bright palette came in my June BoxyCharm. These are normally not shades I would wear — orange, red, blue — but these shades are so creamy and pigmented, it’s hard not to love them. I use them with a light hand and they are so pretty!

H2O+ Beauty Oasis Smart Tint Lip Color — This is a self-adjusting lip color. It has two sides. The dark blue shade turns rosy on my lips and the light blues turns a shimmery pink. Very fun and hydrating!

Urban Decay Chill Chill Cooling and Hydrating Makeup Setting Spray — I have been using this all summer. This has Temperature Control Technology that actually chills the surface of my makeup to keep it looking fresh for up to 12 hours. This also helps powders melt into my skin and I look dewy, not dry!

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte with SPF 40 — I really like this. It is a comfort matte so it is not too drying, but stays in place all day. I need it in a lighter shade, but I have been mixing it with a light foundation and it looks great!

L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer — I LOVE this! I got a sample in a free gift from Ulta this spring and bought the full sized one last month. I use it every time I wear mascara. It gives length and fullness to my lashes. My lashes are very short, so they need this! L’Oreal now has a rose gold primer that’s a part of their Lash Paradise collection, so I’ll pick that up, too!

Pixi Beauty Glow Cake in GildedBare Glow — I received this for review and ever since, I have used it every day. It gives me the perfect summer glow. I swirl my brush in the whole pan and cover my cheek with it. I then use the lightest shade as a hilghighter on my cheekbones, nose and cupid’s bow. Gorgeous!

Pixi Beauty Rose Mist — I love using this in the morning after I wash my skin, before serums and creams. It helps soothe my sensitive skin and gives a glow. It also helps hydrate, which I love. Plus, it smells amazing!

Yes to Peel Off Masks Review

Hi all! July is almost over, can you believe it? I’ll be posting my July favorites soon, but today I am reviewing fun peel off masks from Yes to. I was sent these for my honest review.

I love peel masks. These help to target impurities, while helping hydrate, calm and brighten skin. Each mask is made with 95% or more natural ingredients, formulated without parabens, SLS and silicones and is Leaping Bunny Certified.

Directions: Smooth an even layer of the mask over clean forehead, cheeks, nose and chin, avoiding the eye area, eyebrows and hairline. Build up an edge around the mask. Relax until the mask is fully dry, at least 8 to 10 minutes, then lift edges and start peeling! Rinse off any remaining pieces and moisturize.

I tried all of these except for the charcoal one. My teenage daughter tried it and like it. It cleaned out her pores and left her skin smooth!

The three I tried all smelled amazing! Really fresh, natural scents. And they did what they claimed. I have sensitive skin and the cucumber mask calmed and hydrated my skin.

The coffee/coconut mask was also hydrating and my skin was smooth after I used it. The grapefruit mask did brighten my skin, but irritated it a bit. Which is fine, the redness went away a few minutes later.

I think that these are so nice and affordable. They were kind of hard to peel off, so building up an edge on the the outer part of the face is a good idea. And I try to do a thick layer, but it does take longer to dry.

My Current Summer Faves!

Summer is flying by this year! It has been a long, hot one. My youngest daughter starts high school in a couple of weeks and my middle daughter goes off to college. It’s crazy!

I’ve been really loving the CC+ Matte cream. I have it in Light. It’s full coverage foundation that is a comfortable matte. It’s not too drying on my combination skin. I like to apply this with a sponge, rather than a brush so that I can control the amount of coverage I get and how matte it gets. I think the only issue I have is that I probably should have got it in the shade Fair Light. It looks very dark on my skin in natural light even though it looks okay when I apply it indoors. It either is a shade dark or it oxidizes. It doesn’t go orange, thank goodness, but I look very, very tan (for me). So I either make sure I apply it to my face, neck and chest, or I mix it with a lighter foundation. So that’s something to keep in mind.

I use the included brush to set the CC+ cream with the powder. My powder is in the shade Light to match the CC+ Cream. It starts out sheer, but can be built up. I love that both the powder and cream have SPF. I feel so protected when I wear them.

I have to say that I like this more than the original CC+ cream. The original cream is a bit heavy on my skin, but this feels so light on and gives a beautiful soft-matte finish! I love this for summer.

BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review — July 2018

I received my July BoxyCharm later than usual this month. I receive this box each month and really like it.

Boxycharm is just $21 a month for 5-6 beauty items, most of them full-sized. It’s an amazing way to try new makeup and beauty tools!

This month I received:

I didn’t take individual photos of the products this month. This is was so late that I thought I would just get it posted!

I think this is an okay box. I will use the Tarte mist. I love setting sprays and skincare mists and this is a combo of both. It has a really nice mister and and herbal scent.

I am also testing out the dr. brandt eye gel. I do see that it instantly helps the dark circles under my eyes. You use it after eye cream and before makeup.

I will also use the Wander Beauty mascara. I am waiting to open it because I already have enough mascara open. And as we all know, mascara’s only good for about 3 months. But I will be trying it in a month or so. I like the claims that it curls and gives volume.

I will be giving away the Note blush and the Chella eyebrow product to a friend or family member. The blush is too orange for me and the eyebrow product is too light.

Although there was nothing too exciting this month, it was well worth the $21!

New Summer Products From H2O+ Beauty

Hi all! This is the second part of my recent H2O+ Beauty review on new products. I received these for my honest review.

I really like H2O+ Beauty because the brand is built on the philosophy that effective skincare doesn’t need to be complicated. And they have leveraged the hydrating power of pure water. I love that the products are natural and I have really enjoyed the skin care and body care products I have used.

Here are the products I received:

H2O+ Elements Jelly Cleanser ($20 USD) — This is such a fun cleanser! It contains Argan Oil and Pearl extract and transforms from a bouncy jelly texture into a foam. It has a clean scent and doesn’t dry out my skin.

H2O+ Oasis Smart Tint LipColor ($12 USD) — A self-adjusting lip color that complements all complexions with a custom shade. I use the darker side for a soft blush shade, and the lighter side for a layer of shimmer. This is so pretty! And it’s a perfect light look for summer.

H2O+ Waterbright Massaging Eye Roller ($28 USD) — A massaging rollerball that helps reduce dark circles and puffiness of the delicate under eye area. The gel is cooling and hydrating. It features Pomelo, Snowflake Flower extracts and caffeine to helps reduce dark circles and puffiness while illuminating pigments instantly brighten my skin.

H2O+ On The Move Rollerball Fragrance ($18 each) — This is a water based fragrance that hydrates skin and adds a hint of shimmer. The two scents are:

Teak Rose — The light yet exotic wood fragrance showcases bergamot and orange blossom highlighted by aromatic rose and finished with dry notes of golden amber.

Lemongrass Vetiver — The alluring sparkling lemongrass scent features clean citrus notes of lemon, heightened by a ginger freshness and tempered by fresh grass.

I think the Teak Rose is my favorite, it’s kind of a smokey-rose scent. It’s fresh and sultry. The Lemongrass Vetiver is okay, it is a fresher scent, but not my favorite. These are fun to wear, especially if you like shimmer in the summer. And it’s nice that you can take these on the go.

Here are the products I received for my honest review:

Coconut Oil and Verbena extract combine with Coconut shells to gently exfoliate, buffing away dull skin and leaving you with an all over glow. This gives a pretty vigorous scrub. I love that it foams. It leaves my skin so soft and smooth. Perfect before self-tanning.

H2O+ Beauty Coconut Verbena Body Wash ($18 for 12.2 Fl oz) — These Coconut Water enriched suds feature Coconut Water, Vitamin E and Verbena extract, cleansing and refreshing skin. I love the scent of this whole collection, it’s so fresh and bright! This is a really bubbly body wash and works well as a bubble bath!

H2O+ Beauty Coconut Verbena Shimmering Body Moisturizer ($18 for 5 Fl oz) — And speaking of layering scents, this fun moisturizer transforms from a foam texture into an oil as it melts into the skin. It’s infused with Coconut Oil and Verbena extract. I like that it’s not greasy. It does leave a shimmer, which I don’t usually wear, but I know one of my daughters will love this!

Over all, I really love this collection. The scent is perfect for the summer and the products are really hydrating.
