I think it will be wonderful for the colder months. Now, I apply it very lightly in upward strokes and am seeing a difference on the lines and wrinkles on my neck.

Product Round-Up — My Fave Beauty Things Week of August 12th!

My kids went back to school this week! My daughter Olivia is in 5th grade and my daughter Abby is a freshman in high school! Time goes by so quickly!

During this fun, but emotional week, I have been loving a luxe new mascara, tropical lime-scented body products, a dark-circle buster, waterproof bright eyeliner, and a light skincare line.

What I think: This is such a cool product! I have been using it for a couple of weeks. When I apply it, it imparts a lightening effect and my dark circles look instantly better. What I think: This is such a fun summer color! I have been enjoying using it in the heat and humidity because it doesn’t budge! I would definitely love to try darker colors for fall.

Give Good Lip With New Lipsticks, Liners and Glosses!

Wow! I have been sent lots of wonderful new lip products to try over the last few weeks. So I have tons to review today!

What I’ve noticed in the products I have received is that it seems like a more polished lip is on trend. Lipsticks definitely are in as are lip liners. And many of the glosses I have tried lately are full colored and opaque. I am usually more of a sheer lip lady, but I think I might have to go for a more dramatic look in the fall.

What I think: I really love this lip liner duo. It comes in a lighter and darker shade and I have been using both — the lighter when I wear a sheer gloss and darker with a fuller coverage lipstick. The lipstick is gorgeous too! It is very moisturizing and has a bit of a shimmer to it. Love!

What I think: So moisturizing! It is almost like wearing a creamy gloss and I think that is due to the cherry oil. Some of the shades are almost a matte crème and some have a bit of shimmer to them. And they smell really nice, too!

I have been using a gorgeous combo of a new shade of the liner called Sweet — a perfect match for my lip color, a pinky nude — with a Glosstone called Coral Reef. I have been wearing a lot of pink and the coral is an opaque cream that will look gorgeous as a transition color into fall. The liner helps my color from feathering or fading. Win win!

Product Round-Up — My Fave Beauty Things Week of August 5th!

Another week of beauty has gone by! I was lucky enough to have the week off and had a fun stay-cation with my kids before they head back to school next week.

I think the theme for this weeks favorite products is “natural”. I have tried a tinted lip and cheek balm, a Kona coffee body scrub, a hydrating hair conditioner, a honey scented body lotion and gorgeous mineral eye shadows and blush!

Mullein & Sparrow Tinted Lip & Cheek Balm ($22 for 1 oz) — An all natural tinted balm to give your lips and cheeks a slight flush and dewy finish. Apply desired amount to lips for nourishment, protection, and color. Dab a small amount on cheeks as a light cream blush.

What I think: This organic lip balm gives a light rosy color on lip and cheek — so pretty. It has an herbal scent that isn’t my favorite, but I do like how good it is for my skin.

What I think: The instructions on this conditioner say to apply it and instantly rinse it off. I did so and was really surprised on how soft my hair was, after I dried it. It is also great to use on kids who wriggle when you try to detangle hair!

Really pretty for summer and very well-pigmented so I think it will be great for fall as well. The shadows are pretty, but didn’t show up well on me, so I wet them and they are so pretty. I especially love the Lime.

What I think: This matte cream bronzer is an easy way to add some color this summer (or all year ’round). It is very natural looking. You can use it all over for a sunny glow. I like to use it as contour. I apply it in the hollows of my cheeks and along my jawbone for definition and shadows. It is easy to build up darker color if you wish.

I don’t really have a signature fragrance and I’m not really looking for one, because I love using new scents. I think it’s time to switch up my summer scent and try something new.

The four fragrances below all have a floral heart to them and are such a fresh change from the usual beachy summer scents. I love them all!

Product Round-Up — My Fave Beauty Things Week of July 21th

We have had a pretty hot week here in Kansas City, but it is finally cooling down a little, yay! I am still trying out new summer products to help me with the heat.

This week, I have been enjoying a facial cleansing oil, a gorgeous makeup up palette inspired by a new film, a refillable brush for my favorite powders, natural dental hygiene products, crunchy dried fruit snacks, and a cooling face cream.

NUDE Skincare Perfect Cleansing Oil ($35 USD) — This omega-rich oil deeply cleans and removes all impurities, including eye makeup. All-natural plant oils, including meadowfoam and jojoba, support skin health and hydration. Skin is left radiantly clean, comfortable and soft.

What I think: This is so healing on my parched summer skin. I like to use this oil at night to remove makeup and restore my skin’s natural balance. I feel that the heat, sweating and being in the sun makes my skin feel really uncomfortable. This not only removes all dirt and makeup, it leaves skin soft and definitely not greasy!

What I think: This is a gorgeous makeup kit! My daughter was going out for her 19th birthday with friends and used the eyeliner and shadows to create a dramatic look. And it lights up as you use it. Cool!

Hello Mouthwash Pink Grapefruit Mint ($4.99 USD ) — Helps clean and freshen the mouth. This mouthwash is free of alcohol, artificial colors, artificial sweeteners, and doesn’t cause mouth pain. It is never tested on animals.

What I think: I’m loving this cool line of dental hygiene products. They currently have mouthwash, toothpaste and breath spray in Pink Grapefruit mint, Mojito Mint and Supermint. I like all three flavors — they are like nothing I have tried before! I love that they are natural, and not too strong. LOVE!

Product Round-Up — My Fave Beauty Things Week of July 14th

We had a fairly cool week (mid to high 70’s) in Kansas City, and I have been loving it. It is heating up again (taking my girls to the water park this weekend), so we are trying to stay cool!

So what am I loving this week? A waterproof crème eyeliner, a BB cream for the body, a yummy-scented chocolate facial cleanser (seriously), a sweet and sultry summer fragrance, and a beautiful bronzer palette.

Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner in Envy — An ultra-smooth, water-proof creamy eye liner that applies with the ease and smooth silky finish of a gel and the precision of a liquid liner. Smudge and transfer-resistant, this long-wearing formula goes on “foolproof” with the Laura Mercier Angled Eye Liner Brush.

What I think: This is a brand new color from the new Sensual Reflections collection and it is here for a limited time only. I like the formula because it’s creamy and glides right on with an eyeliner brush. The color is a dark emerald and I think it will be perfect in the fall as well as now.
