It has been so warm, dry and wonderful in Kansas City this week! I have been wearing short sleeves and really need to paint my toenails! But it is going to turn cold and rainy by the end of the week, boo!
So, I am trying to get my skin and hair ready for the spring, along with finding a new fragrance and foundation/skincare.

Lady Gaga EAU DE GAGA

What I think: I’ve never tried a product like this. It applies kind of like a CC cream as it has a thick texture and gives a medium coverage, but it is buildable for heavier coverage. But, the cool thing about this cream is after a few days of use my skin looked so good! The redness and enlarged pores I have been dealing with have been greatly improved.

What I think: I love spray sunscreen, but have never tried an unscented one before. I like it because it is sheer and not greasy at all. And it is nice to get a break from heavily scented sunscreen. Just spray and go!

What I think: This matte cream bronzer is an easy way to add some color this summer (or all year ’round). It is very natural looking. You can use it all over for a sunny glow. I like to use it as contour. I apply it in the hollows of my cheeks and along my jawbone for definition and shadows. It is easy to build up darker color if you wish.
Algenist Hydrating Essence Toner ($25 USD 5 fl. oz.) –This hydrating toner combines alguronic acid with witch hazel and chamomile to tone and soothe skin gently, creating a complexion that appears revitalized, brightened, and softened. The formula replenishes and balances skin’s moisture levels, purifies, and prepares skin to absorb serums and moisturizers more efficiently.
What I think: I love using toners in the summer. I have been keeping this in the refrigerator to keep my skin cool. I have noticed that my kin feels cleaner and softer while using this.
My poor skin has been suffering in this crazy cold weather! I swear that my forehead was so dry at one point, it looked like I had scales!

What I think: I am loving both of these products, but especially the sunscreen. It is so moisturizing and I love the high SPF. It is a bit greasy, so a little goes a long way. The night cream is so decadent and feels fantastic on. These products are a great day/night duo and are affordable.

The following are new products that I have been testing (sent to me for my honest opinion).
Zensation NEW Super Nourishing Cream SPF 50
Looking for that effortless everyday protection? What I think: This is a luxurious cream! I have noticed that it is very hydrating, but not greasy. It is really light. I think this is a good cream for all year long.

What I think: I really like this serum. I haven’t used a lot of retinol because my skin is sensitive. I use this once a day or every other day depending on how my skin reacts to it. But, I really like the results. My skin is smoother and my fine lines are less noticeable. I am a big fan of the Algenist brand and they are always introducing innovative products like this one!

Pür Minerals CC Cream with SPF 40
Pür Minerals introduces their new CC Cream with SPF 40 ($38.00 USD). Pür’s CC protects, corrects and perfects skin’s appearance with clinically advanced, plant based ingredients. This silicone-free formula works to erase brown spots, blemishes, redness and fine lines while balancing uneven skin tone.

What I think: I am always curious about BB and CC creams. I love skincare and makeup combined. But I find that the colors are off a lot of the time and they are very thick.
I like this one. I received it in light. It is too light for me now, but will be perfect for the winter time. It is not too thick. It applies nicely and covers really well. And, it is not orange-hued, which a lot of the creams are.

Laura Mercier Undercover Pot
Laura Mercier Undercover Pot ($34 USD) – This travel-friendly pot combines steps three and four of the Flawless Face into one convenient package for touch-ups. The compact product, available in four shades, features Secret Camouflage in the left pan, Secret Concealer in the right pan and Translucent Loose Setting Powder in the bottom compartment. It’s the perfect size to pack in a travel makeup case or keep in your bag for touchups.
What I think: I really like this concealer pot. With two shades of cream and the powder, you can really customize the level of concealing that you need to do. I keep it in my purse for touch ups.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Crème Compact SPF 20
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Crème Compact SPF 20 ($45.00 USD) – This innovative update to the classic Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer features a lightweight crème formula that gives skin a dewy, natural-looking flawless finish, ideal for all skin types. With SPF 20 and a hint of color, this portable compact is perfect for travel and touch ups at home, or on the go.
What I think: This is the foundation that I am using now (in the shade Bisque). It is perfect over primer and concealer. Also, you can decide how much to used for what kind of coverage you need.
Skincare is constantly evolving and improving. I LOVE trying new products, including these breakthrough ones below that were sent to me for my honest opinion.
PCA Skin Pigment Bar – pHaze 13
PCA Skin Pigment Bar – pHaze 13 ($28 USD) — A cleansing, anti-hyperpigmentation bar for skin suffering from discoloration.
Pigment Bar is the cleansing companion in PCA’s pigment control program, designed to enhance and maintain the complexion-refining results produced by its sister products. pHaze 13 Pigment Bar helps control blemish outbreaks and discolorations as it cleanses the skin of dirt and debris. For pigment control maintenance, use two to three times weekly.
This is such an easy way to clean skin. It comes with three flat sponges that expand once wet. The jar contains a black solid (the bar). To use I wet the sponge and rub it on the bar for lather. I then wash my face with the sponge. It cleans without drying out my skin. I haven’t noticed any lightening of sun spots yet, but for a daily fash soap it works great!
Algenist Pore Corrector Anti-Aging Primer ($42 USD) — With an advanced formulation that combines Alguronic Acid with 7 additional active ingredients, the Pore Corrector Anti-Aging Primer creates a satin-soft finish for long-lasting makeup application. Delivering more than your average primer, this formula also visibly refines pores, blurs fine lines and improves skin’s texture and tone, just in time to highlight that summer glow.
Currently this is my favorite primer. It instantly evens out my skin and blurs the appearance of my pores. It also smooths my skin and prepares it for foundation or bb cream.

MitoQ
MitoQ ($185 USD) is considered to be the most potent antioxidant on the market to date and is proven to be 1000 times stronger than CoQ, a molecule used in many anti-aging products. I have been using MitoQ for a few weeks now and noticed improvements in my skin almost instantly. My skin looks so much better. It is less blotchy, more even and I don’t see any fines lines or wrinkles around my eyes. And my skin does glow!

As I get older, my skin becomes more sensitive. I love advanced anti-aging skincare like this that is also for sensitive skin. This is very moisturizing and gentle without being greasy or oily.
I review a lot of anti-aging skin care. I love being able to review different products and the fact that I will be 45 this year (I know), I feel the need to try as much as I can for my awesome readers as well as myself!
Unfortunately, aging does not only show itself in wrinkles. There are so many wonderful (ha!) skin problems that we encounter as we age such as enlarged pores, redness, sensitivity and dark spots.
Most of the products below help more than one symptom of aging skin and may help you look even more radiant than you do now!
Algenist Multi-Perfecting Pore Corrector Concentrate ($75 USD) — Formulated with Alguronic Acid and multi-perfecting ingredients (salicylic acid, oligosaccharides), this oil-free serum has a unique lightweight texture that instantly tightens pores, smoothes roughness and refines skin texture. Enlarged pores and discoloration are visibly reduced for a more even, radiant complexion.
What I think: This is a very light serum that instantly absorbs into the skin and leaves it feeling smooth, but not tight. I notice that on my first use of both this and the Gel Moisturizer below, my skin looked smoother and now that I have been using them about once a day for a few weeks my pores are less noticeable.
Algenist Multi-Perfecting Pore Corrector Gel Moisturizer
Multi-Perfecting Pore Corrector Gel Moisturizer ($65 USD) — Formulated with Alguronic Acid and multi-perfecting ingredients (salicylic acid, oligosaccharides), this oil-free gel-cream absorbs quickly to lock in moisture, smoothes away roughness and brightens dull skin. Enlarged pores are visibly reduced for a more radiant and smooth complexion.
What I think: I love Algenist anyway, such fab breakthrough formulations! They always make my skin look great. And the older I get, the bigger my pores get — so these products have been greatly helping my complexion! My skin looks smoother and pores are less noticeable. This is a light get that leaves skin soft.
Sebamed Liquid Face & Body Wash ($12.95 USD) Cleansing removes the dirt, oil and impurities from your skin before bed. However, you don’t want your cleanser to strip too much from your skin. Dermatologist developed, this nourishing, non-irritating formula is suitable for the most sensitive of skins. Rapidly absorbed and non-greasy, it restores your skin’s natural balance of pH 5.5, providing natural protection from the elements.
What I think: My skin becomes more and more sensitive as the years pass. Some skincare is so strong that I just smell it and my face gets red and irritated! This was is gentle to use all over the body. It soothes my skin and definitely does not irritate!
Sebamed Q10 Cream ($29.95 USD) 28 days to a visible reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. Efficacy and excellent skin tolerance clinically tested. And it keeps my skin smooth, hydrated and has helped reduce some of my fine lines (I don’t have deep lines yet. Probably because I use so much anti-aging products, LOL)!
Sebamed Q10 Lifting Eye Cream ($29.95 USD) — Averaging 32% reduction in appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in 28 days. Co-enzyme Q10 production in the skin decreases noticeably from the age of 30. Replenishing this essential catalyst activates cells’ natural energy metabolism for more youthful skin function. Naturally protects the elasticity of the very delicate skin of the eye area.

What I think: I love this mask! It is really fun to use as the product appears in three states on your skin. first you apply it as a light-colored cream, then it foams up and finally dissolves and is clear on the face. You then wash it off and skin is smooth and clear! Fab!
Youth Overnight Anti-Aging Night Repair Cream ($110 USD) — replenishes dehydrated, dry and mature skin with essential hydrators and nourishing moisturizers. The benefits are:

What I think: Anti-aging powerhouse here! Smooth on this gentle cream at night and wake up to smooth, glowing skin! This really softens my skin each night. My main problem with my combination, aging skin is that it always looks dull, so I need to exfoliate often and moisturize every day. This gives me clear and glowy skin every day. Love it!
mybody Youthifye Anti-Aging Eye Treatment ($95 USD) — All-in-one protective, soothing and anti-aging eye treatment that reduces dark circles and under-eye puffiness. Benefits are:

What I think: I swear this eye cream has reduced my dark eye circles! I don’t look as sleepy as I used to (and I am still sleepy)! It is a thick, but not greasy cream that is quickly absorbed into the skin around the eye. So soothing and hydrating!
As the weather starts to get cooler, I find myself really wanting to take care of my skin and get it ready for the cold winter. The following products have been brightening my skin and making it looks smooth and gorgeous!

Algenist is a fairly new brand of skincare that I was introduced to last year. I really loved the products that I have used (see my review at http://tinyurl.com/72b6eqg) so I was excited to try their new Firming & Lifting Cream ($94 USD)!
This product is an ultra-firming and restructuring cream that tightens and lifts while reinforcing skin structure. The claim is that it leverages the power of alguronic acid and ProPeptide3. Brought together in a never-before-seen antiaging complex, these ingredients boost production of skin’s key structural proteins: elastin, collagen, and proteoglycans. As it strengthens skin’s structure, this advanced formula redefines facial contours, leaving skin smooth, sculpted, and lifted.
Algenist Firming and lifting cream contains This cream also contains avocado oil, phytosterols, and olive fruit oil to moisturize and nourish the skin. It is dermatologist tested, ophthalmologist tested, for all skin types, hypoallergenic, non-irritating, non-comedogenic, and not tested on animals. It does not contain parabens, sulfates, sythetic dyes, petrochemicals, phthalates or triclosan.
What I think: The texture of this cream is very thick, like a butter or a balm. But it is not greasy once applied. I have been using it morning and night for a couple of weeks on my face and neck.
My skin looks good, but I don’t know how much firmer it is. I’m lucky not to have sagging skin (yet), but I do like the moisture this gives my skin and my neck is smooth. I will continue using this every day to prevent sagging skin.
