NEW Bed Head by TIGI Waves & Curls Collection

My Julep Maven box recently came! This is the October subscription box. The cost is $24.99 a month ($19.99 a month with a 3-month subscription).
I have been a subscriber for over 4 years. And I love it! You don’t have to take a box each month, you can skip if you want to. Which is so nice if I’m short a month or if I’m not feeling any of the items.
I also love that you can customize your box. When I first started subscribing, I could choose from curated boxes, but now, I get to curate my own! I usually choose polish and beauty items, but for this month I went for all polish and cute nail stickers. I always love their polish choices for October:
The colors I chose are Johnny, True Black Crème, Christi, Enchanted Teal Shimmer and Ariel, Planetary Turquoise Glitter. They are all super fall-ish and Halloween-y to me!
Plus, these fun metallic nail stickers!
Have you signed up for Julep yet? If you use the code POLISHGIFT when you subscribe, you will get a free polish set when you join Julep Beauty Box. Includes twelve full-size nail polish. A $168 value.
As it turns to fall (sort of) in Kansas City, I have been taking care of my skin because the weather has been fluctuating between cold evenings and mornings to hot afternoons. My skin has been needing TLC!
So, my faves this week include a natural, all purpose balm, hydrating hand and body butter and fall hues of lip and nail colors in plum:

The Body Shop Amazonian Saviour Multi-Purpose Balm ($10 USD) — Packed with powerful natural origin oils and waxes, this multi-tasking balm helps to revive the brightness and appearance of tattoos, intensely nourishes dry skin and minimizes the appearance of skin marks with a nourishing, 100% natural-origin formula. Inspired by the Amazonian communities that have relied on natural oils to care for their skin for centuries, Amazonian Saviour™ Multi-Purpose Balm is made with just nine, 100% natural-origin ingredients. Enriched with Community Trade organic babassu oil and organic andiroba oil from Brazil. 100% vegetarian and never tested on animals.
What I think: This works well all over, from lips to hands to knees. It is fragrance and flavor free so it can be used by those with fragrance allergies. I love it as a lip balm, but I am using it on my cuticles and skin imperfections, too. It feels amazing on and the 1.6 oz tin will last me a while!
Available at The Body Shop stores nationwide and here: TheBodyShop.com/En

Karité Crème Corps Hydrating Body Cream ($46 USD) –This decadent, dermatologist-developed, hypo-allergenic moisturizer features 30% raw, unrefined shea butter sourced from Ghana (one of the highest concentrations available on the market), organic unrefined coconut oil, sunflower seed oil and an antioxidant-rich blend of rosemary and rooibos extracts.
This helps restore lost moisture and optimizes skin-barrier function while leaving skin smooth, soft and supple. Rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins A and E, it’s safe for all skin types and effective for problem spots such as elbows, knees and feet—and it’s the ideal complement to Karité Shea Butter Crème Mains Hand Cream ($36 USD).
What I think: Another all natural item, the body and hand creams are both rich and hydrating. They have a light scent. Both are safe for sensitive skin and feel really nice on, plus they absorb quickly.

It definitely is starting to feel like fall in Kansas City. It’s a bit cooler at least.
I was sent the following Le Couvent des Minimes for my honest review. Made in a cloister in the French countryside, these products are crafted with care and love.

Le Couvent des Minimes Smile Lip Balm Rose and Berries (Price: $9 USD) — I love the feel and scent of this lip balm. Inspired by the sisters’ benevolent works, that so often brought a smile back to the faces of convent residents, the smile lip balm rose and berries aroma helps to nourish and repair lips on a daily basis.
The original recipe combines softening marshmallow with nourishing shea butter and protective apricot oil, its formula with a floral rose and berries aroma works to provide lasting moisture and protection for lips!

Le Couvent des Minimes Botanical Recipe of the Cloister Fresh Moisturizing Body Gel Cream ($18 USD)– Shea butter works with rose oil to help your skin retain its natural moisture while other essential oils exfoliate. This smooths and hydrates my skin amazingly and the scent is fresh and romantic! I love this on my dry skin when it gets colder.

Le Couvent des Minimes Invigorating Body Splash, Verbena and Lemon ($44 USD) –This is a very fresh, lemony scent and is light enough to spray all over. It combines the invigorating properties of Lemon and Verbena with the firming qualities of prele to revitalize and tone the body. This is nice after a bath or shower.

Le Couvent des Minimes Botanical Cologne of the Morning Orange and Basil ($38 USD) — The fragrance opens with crisp notes of apple that mingle with the freshness of orange and lemon. The heart reveals a delicate pear flower, magnified by fig flower and fresh basil. The base notes of woods, cedar and soft musk give a feeling of serenity.
I think this is a fresh scent for autumn with the fruit and wood accords. It is perfect for those who don’t usually wear extreme floral scents!
Le Couvent des Minimes is currently available at Amazon.com and DermStore.com

Metallic eyes and lips are very on trend this fall. And luckily, we can achieve the look without spending a ton!
I was sent these gorgeous metallic eye shadows, a lip topper and brushes for my honest review:

What I think: I have been testing lots of MODA brushes and really like the quality. They have soft synthetic bristles that blend really nicely. The metallic collection is really gorgeous and there are lots so different brushes to choose from to customize your kit!
Happy Sunday! I hope your Fall is going well! It’s still a bit warm in Kansas City, but hopefully it will cool down soon!
This week I’ve been loving a shimmery cream eye shadow, under eye primer (different) and a gorgeous tanning mousse to keep my summer glow going:

Ellis Faas Ellis Lights for Eyes ($42 USD) –The lustrous metallic of Ellis Lights delivers lavish results in new metalised shades that bring a radiant spin to your eyes. The luxurious liquid formula dries beautifully, coating lids in a shimmery smooth, crease-free finish. The new shades are:
E306 in Beige: Beige goes bold, with high-intensity, statement-making lustre. Glide on solo for a gorgeously subtle, reflective shimmer, or layer atop your favourite shadow for a luminous highlight.
E307 in Chocolate Brown: Delicious, rich chocolate brown radiates immediate warmth and sexiness. Fierce and smooth, it glistens with multi-dimensional sheen.
E308 in Dark Metal: This superior gunmetal brings the smoky eye into a whole new light. The bold graphite hue is hit with black undertones, ideal for instant drama.
What I think: These creamy shadows are very easy to use. I apply with the brush applicator, then blend with my finger. They dry fairly quickly and are so pretty on. They are shimmery, but not too glittery. The shades are beautiful for Fall and the packaging – that silver bullet – is cool and elegant!

Korres Greek Yoghurt Under Eye Priming Moisturiser ($36 USD) — This advanced nourishing eye cream is formulated with Yoghurt, a centuries-old Greek skin soothing solution, and myrtle and rhodiola rosea extracts to reduce the appearance of dark circles, fine lines and puffiness. The cooling treatment perfectly primes the delicate eye area for flawless concealer application and is ideal for sensitive eyes prone to allergies. The ceramic cooling tip gently massages eyes with each application, giving eyes a refreshed and rested look.
What I think: This is a neat product! It primes under the eye for fresh-looking and long-lasting concealer. It does cool my skin and make it very smooth. Concealer applies very smoothly afterwards.

MineTan Caramel Self Tan Foam (34.95 USD) — Not too light and not too dark, Caramel is perfect for those looking for a classic, sun kissed, golden skin finish in as little as one hour. This easy to apply, streak free and self adjusting formula ensures a streak free, natural looking finish every time. Quadruple dark bronzers work with tan extending multi-vitamins and oils to deliver a picture perfect tan in an instant that continues to develop into a natural golden skin finish without the fake tan smell.
What I think: I don’t wear as much self tanner going into the cooler months, but I do like a bit to give my pale skin a glow. This shade of MineTan is perfect because it is not too dark, plus it’s customizable. I can leave it on for 1-3 hours, I just need to rinse it off after the time I want. It does continue to develop, but gets to the color that I like. It’s a beautiful tan shade and isn’t orange! MineTan also comes in darker shades like their Coconut and Violet tanners.

What products have you been loving this week?

I received my very first Vine Oh! subscription box! I was so excited to try this. It consists of two bottles of wine and fun and pampering products.
Vine Oh! is $59.99 for a $120+ Value. It is delivered 4x per year and includes free shipping. Right now you can get $20 off your first box (like I did) with the code WineForMe.

It comes in one big box, but the surprises are in a smaller box on the top and the wine is packaged well on the bottom.

The box with the goodies!

Here’s what’s included, plus two bottles of wine! Here’s the wine I got:

Wei Mung Bean Sprout Stress-Relieving Smoothing Mask – $12 USD
Wei Millet Sprout Instant Smoothing Nourishing Mask – $12 USD
I have tried the Millet Sprout mask already and loved it. These come with tongs to get the masks out of the serum. The masks come in a tube. Once you use the mask, you are left with lots of serum in the tube. I have been using that on my face, neck and hands and love how smooth my skin looks! I will try the Mung Bean Sprout mask soon.

Fizz and Bubble Milkshake Bath Bombs – $15 USD (Listed on card as $14)
These 12 bath bombs come packaged in a plastic drink cup with a straw inside and a loofah too! It’s so cute and the Lavender Fields scent is very nice. My daughter loves bath bombs, but I’ve already tried them out so she can have the rest if she wants!

Capabunga – $5 USD
One of these little toppers comes in every VineOh! box. They are so cool and handy! You slide them onto the top of the wine bottle and they can even be stored on their side in the fridge or counter without fear of leakage.
What do you think of this fun subscription box? I think it’s really fun and I’m looking forward to the Winter box!

Hi all! I wanted to share a few things I picked up during Ulta’s recent 21 Days of Beauty. I didn’t go crazy, which is good. I picked up a couple of things I needed and a couple of impulse buys as well!

I actually shopped in the last couple of days of the sale. I had been tempted buy other items, but I waited for the one main item I wanted to get, Laura Geller’s Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation!

I bought this last year in Fair and loved it! I used it up in a few months and hadn’t purchased it since. I have been using other liquid and powder foundations, but this one has been on my mind.
It is so silky and glides across the skin. And I love that it doesn’t settle into my pores. The regular price is $32, but it was on sale for $16.50. Amazing! That’s all I was going to get that day, but then I saw this:
So pretty! I love Laura Geller’s packaging!

Laura Geller’s Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator Palette! This is normally $32 and was on sale for $19.50. (I love it so much when prestige makeup brands go on sale!)
I’ve been wanting to try these for a while and they are so pretty. I think my favorite is Gilded Honey, it will be perfect for Fall, but Ballerina surprised me. It’s really pretty on. I usually wear more ivory highlighters, so these are a nice change! (swatches below)

I ended up also visiting Ulta on the last day of the sale for this mascara!
Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Super Curling & Lifting Mascara. This is $24 and was on sale for $12. This was on sale earlier in the 21 Days, but they added it for the last day.
I’ve been wanting to try this for a while and it did not disappoint. The brush grabs all my lashes and curls and extends them. It also adds so much volume! I think I may have found one to rival my current faves — IT Cosmetics Superhero and L’Oreal Lash Paradise!

I had also seen in the add that this was going to be on sale — but I had the hardest time choosing a shade!

butter LONDON Glazen Eye Gloss in Oil Slick. Normally $24, it was on sale for $12. This was the darkest color in the bunch. I loved that the color shifts in the light. I have swatched it below so you can see.
The texture of this is so weird! It’s like a slimy mousse. I apply it with my finger onto my eye lid. It dries very quickly, so if I want a more dramatic look, I have to layer it.

This was a total impulse buy!

Benefit Cosmetics ka-BROW! Cream-Gel Eyebrow Color With Brush. This is also $24 and was on sale for $12.
I have dark, thick brows. The most I usually do with them is tweeze and use clear brow gel. But as I get older, my brows are becoming sparser, so a little color probably should be used. I got shade 4, which is medium to dark brown with a neutral undertone. If I use black brow products, it’s way to dark on my fair skin, so this is very nice. It looks natural on and it easy to use with the brush.
Here are my swatches:

The top row is the Laura Geller Swirled palette in Ballerina, Gilded Honey and Peach Glow. The bottom row is the eyebrow and the Glazen shadow. The first is two layers and the second is one sheer layer.
Did you shop Ulta’s 21 days of Beauty? What did you get?
