Shop My Stash September 2019 Results and Monthly Empties

Hi All!  I’m back with my September Shop My Stash results!  I enjoy dipping into my collection and using products I haven’t used in a long time, or just haven’t given much of a chance.

My rule with this is if I don’t like the item after the month, I will move it out of my collection to make some room and let someone else enjoy it! You can check out my first Shop My Stash post for September.

I enjoyed most of these products.  The Jane Iredale face makeup kit and the IT Cosmetics Hello Cheekbones bronzer and highlighter are both really nice!  I used both of them a few times each week. The bronzer is very warm, but it worked well as I was losing my summer tan.

The PUR lip gloss is so pretty.  It’s hydrating and not sticky.  And I love the shade, Focused.  It looks nice on it’s own, over a lip liner and over a lipstick.  Also, it lights up and there’s a mirror on the side.

The only item I will probably let go of is the MGS Accessories Matte Liquid Lipstick in Posh.  It’s very drying.  I’ve never really been a fan of liquid lipsticks, but I keep trying!

Here’s photos with the eyeshadow palettes open:

The Urban Decay Naked Reloaded is my most used item this month.  I really enjoyed using this palette.  I’m pretty sure I tried almost every shade in the palette.  It’s so nice for everyday wear.  You can also make a more dramatic look for evening.    The mattes are really easy to blend and the shimmers are gorgeous!

This is also and Urban Decay palette and the formula is just as beautiful as the Naked Reloaded. It’s the  Urban Decay On The Run Mini Palette in Shortcut. I have made soft pink looks and dramatic, sparkly looks with this.  I will be keeping both palettes.

Now on to my empties:

img_1601.jpg

I have a few empties to share this month.  I used up a few body creams that I have been working on over the summer. I loved the Body Shop Banana scent, but the gel texture of the Body Yogurt is not my favorite.  I would purchase this scent in the Body Cream. I would repurchase both Sol de Janeiro creams.  They are so silky and both smell amazing!

I enjoyed all three serums I used up.  I am working on other serums, so I probably won’t buy a new one for a while.

I also like the Koh Gen Doh wipes and may purchase them in the future. I like the Urban Decay Troublemaker mascara just fine, but I have ton’s of mascara to try out.

Stay tuned for October Shop My Stash — I’m hoping for cooler weather soon!

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Review — November 2018

IMG_2496.JPG

Hi all!  I recently received my second Ipsy Glam Bag Plus ($25 USD), the November box. I received my first box in October.  You can see what I received for that box here.  It is a box that will always include 5 full-sized items.

I had looked in my Ipsy account and saw what I was getting again this month.  I wasn’t happy.  I had seen three spoilers — an IT Cosmetics eye shadow palette, an Ofra highlighter and a First Aid Beauty cleanser (all great spoilers). I didn’t get any of them.

Here is what I received:’

tarte Make Every Moment Count Cheek Palette ($32 USD)                                                            SOL DE JANEIRO Brazilian Bum Bum Cream  ($20 USD for 2.5 oz)                                                SLMISSGLAM Eyeshadow Brush Trio – ($45 USD)                                                            Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in Set List– ($12 USD)                                                          dr. brandt needles no more NO MORE BAGGAGE eye de-puffing gel – Retail Value $42

This is a pretty blush palette from tarte.  I’m good in blush right now, but this will make a nice gift.  I like that there are three shades. I was hoping to get the IT Cosmetics palette, because I have been wanting to try it.

This is the one item I’ll use from the box. I received a smaller container of this cream in a BoxyCharm this summer. I really love it.  It’s so hydrating without being greasy and the scent is a delicious pistachio caramel.

IMG_2504

These brushes are great quality.  I’m a little overloaded in brushes, so I will probably give these away. It’s a good brand, thought

IMG_2507I received this in BoxyCharm this year and didn’t like it at all.  It’s so thick and dry and irritates under my eyes.  I don’t know what I am going to do with it.

IMG_2509 This is a pretty fall color, but I don’t wear metallic lip products.  I will probably give it away.

So, this month was a bust for me.  It was $25 and the only thing I’ll use is the $20 cream. I will give the rest of this away.

I have cancelled this box, but maybe I’ll try it again sometime next year.  I’m afraid if they continue with the variations, I won’t get the items I want, which is what can happen in these kind of subscriptions.

Do you get Glam Bag Plus?  What did you get this month?

BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review — June 2018

IMG_1037

My June BoxyCharm finally arrived! I have been waiting for it because this month’s box is so amazing!

Boxycharm is just $21 a month for 5-6 beauty items, most of them full-sized.  It’s an amazing way to try new makeup and beauty tools!

Here is what I received:

I was excited to try these Luxie Brushes.  I have some travel Luxie eye shadow brushes I’ve received in another BoxyCharm.  I haven’t use them yet, but they are pretty.  I think I’m going to try these tomorrow.

I don’t wear false lashes. I’ve tried them years ago, but I didn’t really know how to apply them.  I like how wispy these are.  I’m going to hold on to them and maybe play around with them.

IMG_1356

This smells amazing! It’s such a cute little container.  It is a very hydrating, but not greasy cream.  Very nice for the summer.

This eye pencil is okay.  I’m not the biggest fan of pencils you have to sharpen, plus when I swatched it, it wasn’t very pigmented.  I put this in my giveaway pile.

I also put the Ofra lipstick in my giveaway pile.  It’s too brown for me.  But I really do love their lip formula.

This is the item I was most looking forward to this month!  These colors are so pretty.  The top 4 are shimmers that can be used wet or dry and the bottom 4 are mattes.

Here are swatches:

IMG_1362

The shimmery shades swatch the best, they are so gorgeous!  The mattes (of course) don’t swatch as well on my arm, but they blended on my eye really nicely. I think this is gorgeous for some amazing eye-catching looks this summer.  I also think it will got into fall nicely, too.

So this month was a win because of the Alamar eye shadow palette.  I will also keep the lashes to try out, the brushes and the bum bum cream!  The eyeliner and lipstick will be given to a friend.  I think this is the most I’ve kept from a BoxyCharm!

Did you receive June’s BoxyCharm?  What did you think?

Sol de Janeiro Glow Oils and Brazilian Kiss Lip Butter Review

img_1192.jpg

Since it’s been in the 90’s in Kansas City for the past couple of weeks, I have been getting ready for summer beauty-wise.  I have been thinking up summer makeup looks and other beauty products that I love during the hotter months.  I haven’t started self-tanning yet, so when I received these goodies from Sol de Janeiro, I thought “these will help me glow without the mess of sunless tanning!”

I received (for my honest review) the new Glow Oils in Copacabana Bronze and Ipanema Sunset and my favorite lip balm, the Brazilian Kiss lip butter.

IMG_1196
Copacabana Bronze Glow Oil

Sol de Janeiro has just released two Glow Oils ($35 USD). Copacabana Bronze has a subtle bronze tint with golden shimmer to warm and illuminate the skin. It is infused with the signature Cheirosa ‘62 Bum Bum Cream fragrance, leaving skin deliciously scented with notes of pistachio and salted caramel.

I like this oil a lot! The bronze color gives my skin a sun-kissed glow. It’s so pretty and shimmery, not glittery. It also deepens my skin tone a bit so I don’t look as pale. It is a little sticky and doesn’t sink into my skin unless I use a small amount and rub it in really well. Also, the bottle doesn’t have a pump and I have to pour it in my hand.

IMG_1194
Ipanema Sunset Glow Oil

Ipanema Sunset has a translucent champagne shimmer to create a romantic sunset radiance. It is infused with the new tropical dream Cheirosa ‘77 fragrance, with romantic notes of pomelo, wild fig, and Brazilian gardenia.

This give my skin a light shimmer and a super pretty glow. It also looks so hydrated. This oil sinks into my skin better than the bronze oil and doesn’t leave it sticky.

Both oils have different scents. The bronze oil has the same fragrance as Sol’s Bum Bum cream. It’s sweet and spicy, but a little too strong for me. I like the Sunset oil’s scent a little better. If you don’t like strong fragranced oils, these probably aren’t for you.

IMG_1193
Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter

Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter ($18 USD) nourishes lips for a soft, supple feel. Powered by a blend of extraordinarily nourishing cupuaçu butter, antioxidant powerhouse açaí, and super-conditioning coconut oil, it leaves lips traced with a Brazilian caramel scent.

I tried this for the first time last year. It’s so amazing! It has a caramel and nutty scent which is so warm and yummy. And it’s creamy and hydrating.
