BoxyCharm BoxyLuxe Subscription Box Review — March 2020

IMG-2996

Hi all! I just received my March BoxyLuxe. I’m always so excited to receive this box. I been subscribed to BoxyLuxe for over a year and have been a subscriber of BoxyCharm for almost three years.

The regular BoxyCharm box is $25 a month now. BoxyLuxe is a once-a-quarter upgrade option you can add to your existing $25-a-month Boxycharm subscription. So for an additional $24.99, you’ll get the Luxe box, and be paying a total of $49.99 for that quarterly box.

I saw the spoilers for this box, I just didn’t know what variations I would get.  I did get to pick some of the items I would receive, which I really liked.

The theme for this month is Pretty Edgy. My version is 8. There’s an interesting mix of makeup, skincare and accessories this month.  Here’s what I received:

The total is $317 and I paid $49.99.  Not bad!

I love Sol de Janeiro, but these are so tiny.  They are great for traveling and throwing in a purse or bag.

We got two choices this month.  My first choice was this Murad Eye Cream.  I haven’t tried anything from Murad for a few years.  I love eye cream and am looking forward to testing this out!

The PMD cleansing device is the big ticket item this month.  It is a sonic cleanser like the Foreo.  I had one of those and liked it so I’m looking forward to trying this.

The glow stick is a pretty gold.  I don’t know if I’m going to try it.  I don’t usually wear cream face products and I don’t usually wear gold highlight. Hmm. I might pass it on.

And I will pass on the lip product.  I wear nudes and light pinks and this magenta is way too bright!

I will use the invisibobble, although it’s not very exciting.

The Zaxie Earrings were my second choice.  I’ve just started wearing earrings again and these are so pretty on!

Wow!  This is so much prettier than I thought it would be. Honestly, when I heard Boxycharm was creating their own palette, I didn’t know what to expect.  I’ve already used it once, I did a natural look with Spoiler, Cup of Joe, Sneak Peek and Popup.  It was very pretty, but then I decided to top it with Swipe Up, which is beautiful!

I am definitely keeping this and will be reviewing it with swatches.

I’m pretty happy with the box this month.  I will be keeping and loving the palette, cleansing device, eye cream and earrings.  I will keep and use the body lotions and hair ties.  I will probably pass on the highlighter and lipstick.

Do you get BoxyLuxe?  Which products did you receive this month?

My Beauty Favorites — Week of March 27- April 2, 2017

It has been a rainy spring week in Kansas City.  We had a really dry winter, so I guess this is okay. But, I am looking forward to warm, sunny days!

This week I have been loving skin care that protects from the elements and amazing scented spring body care products:

Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum ($65 USD) — Fast-acting treatment featuring Hydroquinone fades dark spots, age spots, and freckles. Our skin-lightening serum also evens out skin tone to reveal a clearer, brighter complexion while helping prevent future pigment formation.

Murad City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer ($70 USD) — Detoxify and revitalize skin overnight. This breakthrough formula, with super-charged antioxidants from Marrubium Plant Stem Cells, neutralizes pollutants and strengthens skin’s barrier while you sleep. Next Generation Vitamin C helps brighten and even tone, while nourishing botanicals plump skin to help visibly reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Wake up to radiant, healthy-looking skin.

Murad Essential-C Night Moisture ($65 USD) — Antioxidant-enriched hydrator featuring a patented technology designed to improve skin while you sleep. Vitamins A, C and E encourage cell turnover to improve skin firmness.

What I think:  these products brighten, lighten and hydrate skin, getting it ready for the warmer days ahead.  I like how even my skin tone looks after use and my skin is firmer.

What I think: Both of these collections smell amazing, but I think the Comice Pear & Wild Honey is my favorite, I use the hand lotion every day.  Both of these fragrances are so original!

Murad Launches Eyes Up Campaign For Healthier Skin and a Healthier You!

In today’s always-on world, people are more digitally-connected than ever before – yet less connected to one another in meaningful ways. That’s why Murad®, the pioneering clinical skincare brand, is launching the EyesUp Campaign, a new initiative designed to educate people about the danger of digital-only relationships and the power of real-world human connection. Through the campaign, Murad is encouraging people around the world to go “EyesUp” and connect with one another in real life.

Renowned as the “Father of Internal Skincare,” Dr. Murad’s groundbreaking work and research over the past decade has centered on helping people cope with Cultural Stress™, or the stress of modern living. The hallmarks of Cultural Stress include digital dependency, the inability to disconnect from work, and lowered self-esteem due to increased social expectations.

“As a dermatologist, I believe that healthy skin is a direct reflection of how you live your life. But today, nearly all of us are living in an increasingly stressful, always-on environment,” said Dr. Howard Murad, Murad. “The irony of technological advancement is that we are more digitally connected than ever before, yet less connected to one another in meaningful ways. This has profound implications for our skin, health, and ultimately happiness.”

In fact, this type of constant and pervasive stress has tremendous health consequences, which are particularly visible on the skin. Chronic stress, like that from Cultural Stress, has been shown to weaken immunity, increase inflammation, and accelerate aging[1].  Through the EyesUp campaign, Murad hopes to use its brand expertise on the topic to empower people to connect by disconnecting, thereby taking action against their own form of Cultural Stress.

The campaign kicks-off today with the launch of an educational film created to raise awareness about the power of human connection. The campaign video, directed by acclaimed director Kassim Norris and produced by HECHO EN 72, the production company situated inside award-winning creative agency 72andSunny, depicts the physical and emotional tolls digital dependence takes through the lens of various people living in social isolation.

Murad is also launching a content hub (www.EyesUp.com) to educate people about digital dependence and social isolation, and take the EyesUp pledge. The in-depth resource will include new research, tips and tools for unlocking the power of human connection, and articles from expert contributors including neuroscientist and mind-body expert Dr. Claudia Aguirre and the renowned research organization Sputnik Observatory, dedicated to the study of contemporary culture.

Throughout 2017, the EyesUp campaign will be supported by a robust social media campaign, public relations efforts, and in-store retail activations. This is the first in a multi-year commitment to helping people unlock the power of human connection.
