Purity Design Pure Shampoo and Conditioner

Looking for a great summer shampoo? One I have been using and liking is the Purity Design Pure Shampoo & Conditioner from IT&LY Hairfashion, a company that originated in Milan, Italy.

The Pure Shampoo and Conditioner have a couple of great things going for them. They are enriched with the innovative “Desert Blend” containing Agave, Joshua Tree and Challa Cactus.  Pure Shampoo is perfect for normal and claims to deeply cleanse, moisturize, and help keep hair frizz free. Pure Conditioner claims to nourish and restore the hair. Plus both products contain UV ray protection, which makes them perfect for summer use.

Pure Shampoo Suggested Retail: $11                            Size:  10.14 oz
Pure Conditioner Suggested Retail: $13                         Size:  10.14 oz

What I think: I love the gentle scents of the shampoo and conditioner; they smell really good! The shampoo foams well and really cleans my hair. The conditioner is nice, but I have very dry hair so after cleaning it so well, I need something richer. Still — excellent hair care for every day!

Depth Natural Hair Care Products

Depth Hair Products

Looking for natural hair care? There are lots of different high-end formulas out there, but an affordable choice is Depth Hair Care ($9.99 USD each for shampoo and conditioner).

This all natural hair care (they also make all natural body care) contains organic and hydrating sea minerals. They also utilize three different types of algae – red, brown and green – that enhance the hair’s ability to look healthy and dynamic. The combinations of all three botanicals delivers nourishing ingredients to the scalp to ensure ultimate hydration.

Depth Hair Care includes:
·         Refresh Daily Shampoo – For all hair types. Keeps hair soft, healthy and nourished with a nutrient-rich blend of vitamins and sea botanicals
·         Drench Hydrating Shampoo – For dry and damaged hair: Gentle cleansers work to nourish and restore essential moisture; ideal for color treated hair
·         Immerse Daily Conditioner – For all hair types. Nutrient-rich to maintain healthy, beautiful hair without weighing it down
·         Submerse Deep Conditioner – For dry and damaged hair. This creamy conditioner provides deep nourishment and ultra-hydration for extra healthy hair

What I thought: I have been using the Drench Hydrating Shampoo and the Immerse Daily Conditioner for a couple of weeks. The shampoo is thick and lathers very richly. The conditioner is nice, but not quite thick enough for my dry hair. They both smell fantastic and leave hair clean and soft. I think they are a good buy for being organic and natural.

Depth Hair Care is available at Whole Foods Markets nationwide, as well as Drugstore.com, and other fine health food stores or www.depthbody.com. Enjoy!

Carol’s Daughter Rosemary Mint Purifying Duo

Carol's Daughter Rosemary Mint Purifying Duo

Does your hair need some spring cleaning? I don’t mean the everyday shampoo you have been doing, but a deep, pure cleansing, getting rid of daily toxins and product build-up? Then check out Carol’s Daughter Rosemary Mint Purifying Duo. This set of shampoo and conditioner are touted to deeply cleanse hair and restore it back to its original shiny, healthy state.

Both the Shampoo and Conditioner contain rosemary extract to deliver antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits to hair and scalp and peppermint oil to refresh the scalp. The shampoo also contains moisturizing marine extracts to hydrate and soften the hair and the conditioner contains  jojoba oil and panthenol to creat shine and minimize tangles.

I really enjoy this duo. The fragrance is very refreshing with the combination of cool mint and the outdoorsy scent of rosemary. When I use the shampoo I like to massage it into my scalp, because it give a pleasant tingling feeling — it really feels like it’s cleansing. The conditioner is refreshing as well, plus my hair is so soft and shiny after I use it.

I (and everyone in my family) have been using this set for a couple of weeks and really love what it is doing for our hair. You can also use it once a week to really clean all of the product out! If you are looking for a great purifying treatment, this duo could be perfect for you!

The bottles are also eco-friendly, manufactured from materials containing recycled post-consumer resin. All labels are printed with environmental inks and compostable label film made from annually renewable resource corn.

I tested the following products for a few weeks:

Fortifying Lavender Soymilk Shampoo & Conditioner($6.99 USD each) — This collection combines lavender with whipped soymilk proteins to nourish, fortify, heal and condition the hair. It is safe for color-treated hair — which is great for my hair. I love this shampoo and conditioner because it is so creamy and moisturizing. It really helps my dry, frizzy hair. If I don’t have a thick conditioner, my wavy hair frizzes up, even in the cold winter air (you can imagine what the humid Kansas City summers do to it.) The scent of these products is a soft lavender and it is very soothing.

Nourishing Coconut Milk Styling Mousse ($6.99 USD) — I love hair mousse. It’s so fluffy and fun and it seems to be making a comeback. This great product contains coconut oil for moisture and strength and ultra whipped egg white proteins give hydration and balance. When I use this on clean, damp hair, it makes my hair very soft and manageable. It smells amazing, too!

White Sands Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner

As we become more eco-conscious, more companies are releasing natural, organic and even vegan products. Not only are these types of products great for the environment, they are healthy and nourishing for our bodies!

White Sands has recently created 100% vegan products, their Hydrating Shampoo ($12.00 7.6 oz) and Conditioner ($15.00 7.6 oz). These products are all natural, sulfate, silicone, and cruelty free. Both products contain wheat and silk amino acids to moisturize dry and damaged hair, while providing hair color protection.

The claim is, “by correcting the hair’s internal moisture balance, White Sands Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner create a guard against humidity, creating the foundation for the perfect frizz free style. To further the pairs’ amazing results, Wheat Amino Acids promote moisture when applying hot tools, while Silk Amino Acids’ cationic and anionic properties create a positive charge to damaged hair fibers in order to polish tresses for high shine.”

I like this hair care duo. The scent is sultry with a hint of musk– but its not too strong, which is good. It will be very nice for the fall and winter. The conditioner is my favorite because it is very rich. My hair needs a thick conditioner because it gets very dry and frizzy. And although it is a thick moisturizer, the conditioner doesn’t weigh my hair down. I have found my hair is less frizzy after use.

Visit the website at www.whitesandsproducts.com to learn more about these vegan products and the other products in their lines. Enjoy!

Nick Chavez Beverly Hills

Hairstylist Nick Chavez is known for creating products to make hair it’s most glamorous.  His products are a blend of herbal and organic traditions with modern technology. I tried the following products:

Volumizing Shampoo 8 fl oz ($18.00) — touts to give body, lift and volume to thinning hair. It contains Vitamins A and E to condition the outside hair shaft and Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), which penetrates inside to increase hair diameter. These products all smell wonderful. The shampoo cleans without stripping the hair and hasn’t faded my color.

Volumizing Conditioner 8 fl oz ($20.00) — claims to give shimmering bounce and voluminous texture without over-conditioning or disturbing the hair’s natural moisture balance. This is very moisturizing. After using both the shampoo and conditioner, I noticed that my hair did have a lot of bounce.

Angel Wings Ultra Light Styling Paste ($24.00 4 oz) — this is a light paste to shape, define & texturize. What I found using this product is that it didn’t leave my hair crunchy and it imparted a nice shine. My hair was also less shimmery than usual. One thing I didn’t care for was that using this product deflated some of my volume from the shampoo and conditioner.

All in all, I had a very positive experience with the Nick Chavez products. Check out his website at http://www.nickchavezbeverlyhills.com to learn more about these products.

Amazon Beauty Presents Rahua Hair Products

Rahua Shampoo & Conditioner
Rahua Shampoo & Conditioner
Amazon Beauty has created a wonderful hair product line called Rahua made with rain forest grown organic ingredients.

The key ingredients in this unique haircare, according to the Amazon Beauty website, “include Rahua® Elixir which instantly repairs damaged hair and speeds hair growth and Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens), a centuries old calming ingredient from aged “holy wood” that imparts an amazingly beautiful aroma and is traditionally used in Shaman ceremonies.” And boy does it smell good!

Amazon Beauty Rahua® Organic Shampoo ($32.00 9.3 oz) and Rahua® Organic Conditioner ($34.00 9.3 oz) are a wonderful duo to help dried out hair become soft and managable again. The products are safe and claim to strengthen color-treated and delicate hair. I like to wash with the shampoo then apply the very thick conditioner and leave it on in the bath or shower for a few minutes. When I rinse it out, my hair is noticeably smoother.

New York Streets Hair Culture Collection

New York Streets is a hair care company that believes in “freedom of style, individuality and self expression. This culture does not follow trends, it inspires them, influencing the fashions of tomorrow.”

This is a cool concept, but what does it mean? Well the website claims that the products are formulated to rebuild, repair and perform under extreme humid condition and is color-safe and provides UV protection.

The products I’ve tried are (as described by the website):

Clean ($15.00 USD) — A daily nourishing cleanser derived from Palm Kernal and Coconut Oil. Panthenol, Wheat Amino Acids and Hydrolyzed Barley Protein increase moisture retention, balance pH and protect color and minimizes fading. Glycolic Acid exfoliates and stimulates blood flow promoting healthy hair growth.

Condition ($17.00 USD) –Hydrolyzed Silk Proteins and Wheat Amino Acids hydrate the hair and scalp. Panthenol (Vitamin B5) and Polyfix Complex helps repair split ends. Hydrolyzed barley proteins and special polymers reduce frizz and promote shine.

Hairspray ($19.00 USD) — Hold, Style & Finish! Repairs split ends while giving medium to firm hold and under high humidity, fast drying spray that allows you to control the hold, imparts sheen while protecting against damaging UV free-radicals and is the perfect finish for any style.

This is a great basic hair care trio. The scent is mild, but pretty. What I really like is that it does what it says; my hair is less frizzy (in the humid Kansas City summer) when I use it, which is awesome! It is very hard for me to find products that actually reduce the frizz, but by using the shampoo, leaving the conditioner in my hair a few minutes before I rinse, then using the flexible hold hairspray, my hair looks fairly smooth. And if I add an anti-frizz serum before drying, my hair is virtually frizz free!

Folicure Makes Fine Hair Full

Folicure is a haircare line to help thicken fine and thinning help. The Folicure’s System promotes a clean scalp and fuller, thicker hair with scientific formulas specially developed for fine or thinning hair. Folicure treatment, shampoo, conditioners, and styling products may be used individually or in conjunction with one another for maximum benefits.

Folicure Shampoo (approx. 14.75 USD) was created to remove sebum and clean gently without stripping away natural nutrients found on a healthy scalp. Folicure Original Conditioner’s (approx. 14.75 USD) exclusive scientific formulation provides added body, fullness and shine to fine and thinning hair. This conditioner is left in the hair and continues to work until it is washed out. It contains no greasy additives to weigh hair down.

I really like the shampoo it really cleans the hair, but still keeps it soft. The conditioner works well, too, but the very strong peppermint scent is a little much for me. My husband really likes both products. They would work well for both men and women.

The Folicure website, www.folicure.com, is down right now, but check back to learn more about the products, which are sold on various beauty websites. Just search for Folicure to find what you need.
