My last week of August was hot and exhausting, so glad it’s the long weekend! I have been trying products sent to me for review that are great for the end of summer.
This week I have been enjoying a yummy scented body wash, a night skin treatment, two amazing eye shadow brushes, spray to remove chlorine from hair, tinted brow gel and healthy wheat grass tablets (I am trying to get healthier).
Neutrogena Rainbath Renewing Shower and Bath Gel – Pear and Green Tea

What I think: I love all of the Neutrogena Rainbath washes, and this is one of my favorite scents. It’s fresh and sweet-scented, and my skin is clean and very soft after washing. I love using it as bubble bath.

Miracle Skin Transformer Triple Active Night Cream
Miracle Skin Transformer Triple Active Night Cream ($68.00 USD) — This multi-purpose cream combines the beauty benefits of three different creams, exfoliating skin, moisturizing and fighting daily environmental aggressors at once. What I think: I have been using this every night for about a week. When I apply it, it leaves sinks right into my skin, without leaving it greasy. In the morning, my skin is so soft and smooth. And very glowy! This is a good product if your skin is dry and dull.
MUA Pro All Over Shadow Brush($10 USD) and MUA Pro Crease Brush ($10 USD) — The shadow brush has full and rounded natural fiber brush for a perfectly even wash of color from lid to brow bone. Superior shape and tapered bristles glide shadow over a large area, creating a flawlessly even distribution of pigment in one easy sweep. Perfect for an all-over wash of shadow, highlighting the brow bone or tucking color into the eye crease. The crease brush is the perfect size to apply a darker shade just into the crease.
What I think: Both of these brushes are now my favorite eye shadow brushes. The all over shadow brush works well from brow bone down to lashes and the crease brush is amazing! Gives just the right amount of pigment for my crease. Love! They are both made very well and are gorgeous!
SwimSpray Chlorine Removal Spray (4 oz $15, on sale for $11.95 USD at Amazon) — an all-natural solution that completely eliminates chlorine from hair and skin with a new vitamin C technology that neutralizes all lingering chlorine other swimmer-specific hair and skincare products leave behind without using additional chemicals to do so.
What I think: This is such as smart idea. You rinse your hair, apply SwimSpray, then shampoo. It cleans all of the chlorine and chemicals out of your hair and leaves it clean and soft.
RevitaLash Hi-Def Tinted Brow Gel ($32.00 USD) — This multi-tasking eye-brow setting gel helps to control, condition, and enhance brows for immediate and dramatic results. It sculpts and defines eyebrows to create a fuller look, while filling in areas that may be sparse or damaged. In addition, the Hi-Def Tinted Brow Gel conditions brows to protect from breakage, and create soft and naturally beautiful brows.
What I think: This is a really nice brow gel that can help create the full brow look that is in right now. I love knowing that this is a product that can help the health of my brows. It’s also really easy to use, just swipe on with the brush and use the comb on the other end to tame your brows.
Pines Wheat Grass 250 Tablets ($18.95 USD for one bottle) — Pound for pound, PINES Wheat Grass is many times richer in chlorophyll and iron than spinach. Its protein level averages 25 percent and it contains virtually every vitamin known, along with 20 amino acids, including the eight that are considered essential for human health.
What I think: Wheat grass pills are such a healthy way to get so many essential vitamins. The only thing that I don’t care for is that you have to take 7 tablets a day to get the benefits. But, its worth it for this healthy supplement.
It was so hot in Kansas City this week! I didn’t even want to go outside, but as a busy woman, I had errands to run. At least my makeup stayed put!
This week, I have been loving waterproof eye liners and mascara, a new powder foundation, a fresh body scrub, a cute new headband, and a rich body lotion.

What I think: I am so impressed with both of these products! The liners work very well, and it’s easy to get a thick line and cat’s eye. I especially love the mocha and marine liners. They will be great for fall! The mascara is perfect for this hot weather, as it doesn’t run or smear after dry.

What I think: Right now, I have been using this in Chantilly (fair) dry as a light foundation. It works great in the heat. When it gets cooler, I will probably use it wet for more coverage. It lasts all day and doesn’t stick in my pores. I also love the case that it comes in.

What I think: This smells fantastic! So fresh! I also love the gel consistency of this. I have never tried a gel scrub and I like how gentle it is on my skin.

What I think: This bow is so cute! I love the dark denim look. It is great to keep my hair off of my face and will be perfect for fall outfits!

My kids went back to school this week! My daughter Olivia is in 5th grade and my daughter Abby is a freshman in high school! Time goes by so quickly!

Lancôme Paris Grandiose Mascara

I thought it might give me a dramatic look, but it is more of a natural, everyday mascara. Maybe, with more practice it will lengthen and thicken my short lashes!

What I think: This is such a cool product! I have been using it for a couple of weeks. When I apply it, it imparts a lightening effect and my dark circles look instantly better. I have also noticed that my under eye circles aren’t as dark as they were. I’m going to continue using this and hope to see even more improvement.

What I think: This is such a fun summer color! I have been enjoying using it in the heat and humidity because it doesn’t budge! I would definitely love to try darker colors for fall.

Wow! I have been sent lots of wonderful new lip products to try over the last few weeks. So I have tons to review today!
What I’ve noticed in the products I have received is that it seems like a more polished lip is on trend. Lipsticks definitely are in as are lip liners. And many of the glosses I have tried lately are full colored and opaque. I am usually more of a sheer lip lady, but I think I might have to go for a more dramatic look in the fall.

What I think: I really love this lip liner duo. It comes in a lighter and darker shade and I have been using both — the lighter when I wear a sheer gloss and darker with a fuller coverage lipstick. The lipstick is gorgeous too! It is very moisturizing and has a bit of a shimmer to it. Love!

What I think: I have been enjoying this crayon in Sedona Sands, the lightest color of the group and a pretty nude. The formula is matte, but still moisturizing. They don’t have a flavor, which is nice.
Yves Rocher Sheer botanical lipstick Marron Glace ($14.00 USD) — For the first time in a lipstick, Yves Rocher Research has selected Cherry Oil for its extraordinary shine and light refraction power.
Its ultra-sensory texture melts onto the lips and enhances them with a glossy colour that gives you the coverage you want. Available in 12 shades.
What I think: So moisturizing! It is almost like wearing a creamy gloss and I think that is due to the cherry oil. Some of the shades are almost a matte crème and some have a bit of shimmer to them. And they smell really nice, too!
Mally Beauty Lip Magnifier (retails for $20, now $15 for the month of August) — combines luminous color with a creamy, ultra-fierce lip gloss. Its refreshing formula smoothes and hydrates, leaving lips feeling silky and ultra soft. Simply begin by lining your lips with the lip pencil. Once they are completely lined, begin filling in your lips for a long-wear, luscious lip color. Available in 15 different shades!
What I think: I have been using this in Soft Nude, which is a gorgeous neutral. I like it alone, or I can apply lipstick or gloss over it. It has a bit of a pleasant minty taste and is not sticky at all.
BC Color Hydra Brilliance Lipstick – Garnet ($18 USD) — Saturate lips in pure brilliance. Each creamy sweep is enriched with hydrating aquatic herbs, essential vitamins and antioxidants to lock in moisture and lavish lips in vibrant color. Color-magnifying crystals add extra brilliance to all 26 lustrous shades.
What I think: Are you looking for a fab shimmering dark red for fall? This is your lipstick! It is so moisturizing and the color is rich and so pretty! I also love that it is good for my lips!

What I think: Mehron makes a lot of theatrical makeup, but they also have a fab beauty line. The products are affordable and work really well. I have been using a gorgeous combo of a new shade of the liner called Sweet — a perfect match for my lip color, a pinky nude — with a Glosstone called Coral Reef. I have been wearing a lot of pink and the coral is an opaque cream that will look gorgeous as a transition color into fall. The liner helps my color from feathering or fading. Win win!
Another week of beauty has gone by! I was lucky enough to have the week off and had a fun stay-cation with my kids before they head back to school next week.
I think the theme for this weeks favorite products is “natural”. I have tried a tinted lip and cheek balm, a Kona coffee body scrub, a hydrating hair conditioner, a honey scented body lotion and gorgeous mineral eye shadows and blush!

Mullein & Sparrow Tinted Lip & Cheek Balm ($22 for 1 oz) — An all natural tinted balm to give your lips and cheeks a slight flush and dewy finish. Apply desired amount to lips for nourishment, protection, and color. Dab a small amount on cheeks as a light cream blush.
What I think: This organic lip balm gives a light rosy color on lip and cheek — so pretty. It has an herbal scent that isn’t my favorite, but I do like how good it is for my skin.

Nyakio Kenyan Coffee Body Scrub

Jojoba oil, used for its emollient and regenerating benefits, combined with castor oil hydrates and protects the hair. Angelica seed extraction has purifying and toning properties to increase hair’s vitality and shine. Hair becomes easier to detangle with improved manageability.
What I think: The instructions on this conditioner say to apply it and instantly rinse it off. I did so and was really surprised on how soft my hair was, after I dried it. It is also great to use on kids who wriggle when you try to detangle hair!
Yves Rocher Culture Bio Nourishing Body Lotion ($18 USD on sale now for $9.90) — Immediately soothes feelings of tightness and discomfort. Acacia honey selected by Yves Rocher laboratory for its soothing properties, organic sunflower oil for its nourishing properties, organic chestnut to protect your skin from dehydration and organic oats to stimulate cell renewal. Paraben free. Colouring free. Mineral oil free. 99% of natural origin ingredients.
What I think: I have been using this line — including a body wash, hand cream and lip balm — in Honey & Organic Muesli.
BeautiControl Color Pure Touch Blush ($20 on sale for $16.90) and Color Impact Eyeshadow ($18 on sale for $14.90) — Blush — A silky-smooth formula so color-rich you’ll be blushing for hours. Glides on evenly, blends seamlessly for a full-color flush that helps minimize small skin imperfections while maximizing your natural radiance. Eye Shadow — Bold eye brilliance that’s never boring. What I think: I haven’t tried this mineral makeup brand before and was glad to receive these samples. Most of my blushes are pink or coral, so I am loving this matte. peachy shade. Really pretty for summer and very well-pigmented so I think it will be great for fall as well. The shadows are pretty, but didn’t show up well on me, so I wet them and they are so pretty. I especially love the Lime.

What I think: I love spray sunscreen, but have never tried an unscented one before. I like it because it is sheer and not greasy at all. And it is nice to get a break from heavily scented sunscreen. Just spray and go!

What I think: This matte cream bronzer is an easy way to add some color this summer (or all year ’round). It is very natural looking. You can use it all over for a sunny glow. I like to use it as contour. I apply it in the hollows of my cheeks and along my jawbone for definition and shadows. It is easy to build up darker color if you wish.
Algenist Hydrating Essence Toner ($25 USD 5 fl. oz.) –This hydrating toner combines alguronic acid with witch hazel and chamomile to tone and soothe skin gently, creating a complexion that appears revitalized, brightened, and softened. The formula replenishes and balances skin’s moisture levels, purifies, and prepares skin to absorb serums and moisturizers more efficiently.
What I think: I love using toners in the summer. I have been keeping this in the refrigerator to keep my skin cool. I have noticed that my kin feels cleaner and softer while using this.
I get tired of turning to the same products all of the time. When I think that my look has become predictable, I like to change it up. I’ve been trying out some great new makeup from some of my favorite brands — tarte, Pur Minerals, Mineral Fusion and Jane Iredale — and I am loving my new look!
Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer

What I think: This gorgeous palette will give you great day and night looks. The eye shadows are so flattering and will work well now, and as we go into fall. Plus, Park Avenue Princess is one of my all-time favorite bronzers. It’s a subtle, lighter shade, but is really pretty on!

What I think: I love trying new mascaras! I love that this has Argan Oil in it. The brush is molded plastic and is medium-sized. I tried it and — wow! I noticed instant separation and length and since it is very buildable, in a couple of coats I had tons of volume as well. It is so good — and good for my lashes!

Mineral Fusion Lip Tints

Jane Iredale PureGloss Lip Gloss Tangerine ($24 USD) — If you’d rather have a gloss than a tint, this is perfect! This has a luxurious formula that feels lusciously creamy on the lips with Moringa butter and avocado oil that make lips feel conditioned, moisturized, quenched and nourished. It is remarkably long‐lasting and is free of petroleum‐based products.
What I think: I do love my lip gloss! This is such a pretty soft, coral and it’s perfect for the summer. The gloss itself does last a long time and is makes my lips soft — and isn’t sticky. Yay!
We have had a pretty hot week here in Kansas City, but it is finally cooling down a little, yay! I am still trying out new summer products to help me with the heat.
This week, I have been enjoying a facial cleansing oil, a gorgeous makeup up palette inspired by a new film, a refillable brush for my favorite powders, natural dental hygiene products, crunchy dried fruit snacks, and a cooling face cream.

What I think: This is a gorgeous makeup kit! My daughter was going out for her 19th birthday with friends and used the eyeliner and shadows to create a dramatic look. And it lights up as you use it. Cool!

What I think: I’m loving this cool line of dental hygiene products. They currently have mouthwash, toothpaste and breath spray in Pink Grapefruit mint, Mojito Mint and Supermint. I like all three flavors — they are like nothing I have tried before! I love that they are natural, and not too strong. LOVE!

What I think: This is such a great evening skin treatment! I apply at night after my serum, and when I wake up my skin feels fresh and so soft! We had a fairly cool week (mid to high 70’s) in Kansas City, and I have been loving it. It is heating up again (taking my girls to the water park this weekend), so we are trying to stay cool!
So what am I loving this week? A waterproof crème eyeliner, a BB cream for the body, a yummy-scented chocolate facial cleanser (seriously), a sweet and sultry summer fragrance, and a beautiful bronzer palette.

This liner comes in other great colors such as Cobalt, a bright blue that is perfect for summer.
