My Beauty Favorites Week of September 7-13, 2015

Even though it still isn’t boot weather (and I have a gorgeous new pair to break in), it is getting cooler in Kansas City. I went to the zoo today and the weather was beautiful, and a little chilly in the morning!

This week, as I begin reviewing new Fall products I am loving and innovative BB water foundation, new nail polish and top coat, Fall body mists, and a quick teeth cleanser and whitener.

What I think: I needed a new foundation and was really excited to try this. And I am extremely pleased with it! It is very liquidy — I put a dropper full on the back of my hand and immediately need my BeautyBlender to apply it on my face. It feels like I have nothing on, but it covers my dark circles and red spots. It actually gives me a medium coverage and is full coverage for me with two coats. It also gives a beautiful glow to my skin.

What I think: Both of these are fab Fall scents, but are so different from each other. The Dark Violet is a deep floral. It’s warm and I can really smell the vanilla, but it is sweet and floral, too. Kiss of Honey is rich and sweet, with refreshing nectarine and soft cashmere. I’ll enjoy wearing both of them!

What I think: The gorgeous plums and neutrals of the palette work perfectly with the berry EnergyNoir lip colors — which are my favorite items in the collection. I usually wear lighter colors on my lips, but these are so sheer and they remind me of Fall. I will definitely be wearing this collection over the next few months.

I am not much of a matte lip wearer, because they can feel dry on your lips. the matte LipSurgence leaves some moisture on the lip, which is needed during cooler weather. I like bare the most, because it is a great neutral, but tempted is nice with the EnergyNoir lip color over I. It makes a very pretty combo!

One of the most used products for me is the sculptor. The pencil is so creamy the you can draw lines all over the face and it blend seamlessly! My jaw and child benefit immensely from this pencil! I also contour my cheeks and the sides of my nose.

It’s Time For Gorgeous Fall Makeup!

Tomorrow is the first day of September! Yay! I love Fall and am so excited for the beautiful new makeup — I always love to change at least some of my makeup up with the seasons!

What I think: I have been testing the new eye shadows and mascara. The eye shadows give gorgeous pops of color for your Fall look. I love the matte Iris (purple) and Forest (deep green). So pretty as liners, in the crease or as a fun smoky eye all over the lid. The mascara gives tons of volume and length, but it smears a bit. I use it first, then place a coat of a waterproof mascara over it. That works very well.

My Beauty Favorites Week of August 24-30, 2015

It’s getting hot again in Kansas City, but I have Fall on the brain! I am excited for cooler weather, deeper colors and the new boots I just ordered!

This week for beauty, I’m loving amazing skincare that works overnight, a lip crayon that’s like a balm, a sultry new fragrance and a shampoo that is safe for my color-treated hair.

What I think: I have Sheer Bliss and Pinky Swear and they both work well for a natural and sheer lip! They aren’t sticky at all and are very moisturizing. They do feel like a light balm. I now keep Sheer Bliss with me when I want a lip product with a little sheen, but not a lot of color. It’s perfect!

Makeup Shades That Transition From Summer To Fall

I am so excited that fall will be here soon! It is my favorite season. But, as it still is summer, very dark makeup isn’t appropriate yet (for me).

So, I have been playing with color for eyes and lips and am still enjoying the contouring and strobing trends. Below are my current favorite products.

What I think: I think these are pretty great for under $3! My favorite is Central Park Tulips, the purple shade from the photo above. It’s a gorgeous grape that when blended gives a softer look, but I think it will be a really fun pop of color for fall! The lightest shade, Murray Hill Champagne, is a great highlighter with the purple. Apply it under the brow bone and in the inner corner of the eye for a gorgeous look!

The brush is hourglass shaped and is a little awkward to use, but after a few tries, my lashes look amazing!

My Beauty Favorites Week of August 17-23, 2015

It may be the end of summer, but it is still pretty warm out! I went to the zoo today with my family, and I had to make sure I had my SPF! I know, though, that my simple summer make up regimen is going to become more intensive as fall rolls around. That’s okay, I am ready for it!

My faves this week include a fresh facial cleanser, a gorgeous highlighter, a primer sampler set, a brow marker, and hair care that will give you beachy end of summer waves!

Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser ($32 USD) — This antioxidant rich formula exudes a light strawberry aroma, which brightens the skin and the senses without overpowering. When applied to face and left to sit for 5-10 minutes (before rinsing), this complexion clearer acts as an exfoliating mask. It gently removes makeup without stripping the skin of necessary nutrients. It’s also a great formula for cleaning makeup brushes!

What I think: This cleanser has a light, natural fragrance, which I love. It isn’t overpowering at all. It cleanses really well without leaving my skin dry. My skin glows after use!

The Butter LONDON ShadowClutch Collection

I was so excited to hear the butter LONDON — one of my favorite nail polish brands — have created powder eye shadow palettes! And was extremely excited to receive some of the shadows for review!

There is a nice mix of matte and shimmer. The colors are very well pigmented and last a long time with the use of a primer. The palette includes a double ended brush that works well with the shadows, they are silky and glide on nicely. Plus, the neutral shades are perfect for fall.

This week has been crazy! Both my husband and my eldest daughter had their birthdays, so I have been very busy. Plus, it’s been extremely hot! It’s nice to have a beauty break!

What I think: This is an excellent straightening iron! It heats up very quickly. I love how it straightens quickly and gives a ton of shine in one pass through my hair. I can style my hair so fast with this iron!

Fresh Lip Looks For The Summer

Have you been experimenting with new lip colors this summer? I have. And I have to say my choices have been pretty bold!

I’m normally a soft pink, coral or nude lip gloss girl. This summer, though, I have been trying brighter colors and lots of lipsticks!

My favorites are below — fun lipsticks by Lipstick Queen that turn a different color on your lips than in the stick, shimmery, pretty lipsticks from Cargo and bright affordable lipsticks and glosses from MUA Makeup Academy.

It is more like a colored balm, but it lasts a long time. Frog Prince turns my lips a pretty pink and is really fun to use. It is also very hydrating.
