My Beauty Favorites — November 13-19, 2017

The cold weather is really starting in Kansas City. To keep my skin hydrated an dlooking good through the cold and holiday stress, I’ve been trying some amazing new products!

Below are some great exfoliating and hydrating products that I have been sent for my honest review:

Looking for the secret behind Kim K’s perfect pout? Recently, Kim Kardashian instagrammed herself wearing the Rodial Dragons Blood Lip Mask ($45 for pack of 8) and has admitted her love for them.

These replenishing bio-cellulose lip masks give an instant moisture boost and comfort and soothe the skin for smoother, younger looking lips. Containing restoring and protecting dragon’s blood extract and hyaluronic acid to plump lip volume through hydration, these masks will mold to your lip shape and take your lip game to a whole new level.

What I think: This took a little bit to apply. The gel mask was in between two cloth like papers and it’s very thin. Once it was on, it felt nice. It does have a slit in between the lips. It’s nice that I could move my lips, but the bottom part of the gel kept falling down below my lip and I had to pull it up. After 15 minutes, I removed the mask and my lips and the skin around them were very smooth. And my lips did look a letter fuller.

What I think: These are used after cleansing the skin. They are super easy to used, just swipe along face and neck. This leaves skin with a nice glow and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I exfoliate a few times a week, but this can be done every day.

What I think: This smells amazing, it’s a soothing floral. It does give a little bit of bubbles, but not a ton. I love how soft it makes my skin. This is really great for dry skin and when you want to de-stress!

Jergens Nourishing Honey Dry Skin Moisturizer ($5.99 USD) — Contains naturally hydrating, antioxidant-packed honey. Provides all-day nourishment. Retains moisture deep within the skin. Refreshes with an invigorating floral scent. Softens skin with a smoothing, non-sticky formula.

What I think: This has a light floral scent which is nice, but a bit surprising because I thought it would be more honey scented. But it is so hydrating and leaves my skin so soft and not sticky or greasy at all. It also gives my skin a soft glow.

Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter ($35 USD) — A silky, velvety and ultra-hydrating body butter packed with more than 10 plant oils and extracts whipped to a feather-light texture. 100% Pure Argan Oil nourishes and repairs. What I think: I love these body butters! They are super hydrating, but sink right into the skin. It comes in unscented and lots of choices of yummy scents. I also like that the argan oil so good for your skin. It not only instantly hydrates, it continues repairing skin even after application.

My Beauty Favorites — Week of November 9-15, 2015

Can you believe that we are getting close to Thanksgiving? As it gets colder outside, I have to make sure that my skin is healthy. Because of that, I am focusing on skincare as my favorites this week.

This week I am loving cool dragon’s blood eye masks, amazing beauty oils, a firming serum and a reusable sponge, and a moisture cream that is perfect for oily skin!

What I think: These are so neat! You apply them under eyes, and leave them on for about 20 minutes. When removed, skin is soothed and firm. They stay on really well, so you can walk around the house and do chores if you need to! They also helped my dark cirlces.

What I think: These are so hydrating and sink right in to the skin. My favorite is the once with the coffee oil. It smells amazing! It is like rubbing coffee on my skin! The scent does fade, which is probably good, but the moisture remains on my skin all day. These are also great for the hair and the moringa oil is very good for hands and cuticles.

My Beauty Favorites Week of June 29-July 5, 2015

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! I love this time of year, but it is hot! I love finding fun summer makeup that won’t meltdown and that is on trend.

Below, find some of my new faves that help me achieve an easy and long-lasting summer look:

The powder itself gives my skin a finished look and doesn’t settle in fine lines or wrinkles. It makes my skin look smooth and minimizes the appearance of my pores.

Palladio The Definer Contour and Highlight Duo ($8 USD) — Two-sided, super-soft contouring jumbo crayon. The perfect tool for defining, refining and highlighting facial features, this unique crayon includes a highlighting shade to illuminate and soften, and a darker contour shade to accentuate and define features.

What I think: Contouring is the big thing right now and I think it can be a great tool to have to make certain areas of the face look thinner. But, if overdone, it can look a little 80’s soap queen! This duo has very soft pencils the blend really easily. It gives a subtle contour that I really like. And it is so affordable. The highlighter is pretty under the eyebrow and on top of cheekbones.

What I think: This is a nice compo of moisturizer, SPF and color, which is great in the summer when you want to use less products to get out the door faster! It’s very lightweight and sinks in quickly. The coverage is medium, which is perfect for summer. Heavy makeup isn’t fun in the heat!

What I think: I have tried Aloha, which is a sheer red. It’s really pretty, but I was pleasantly surprised at how moisturizing it is. It feels like a lip balm, but really gives a nice color. I love the SPF, too. Burnt lips are no fun!
