My Beauty Favorites Week of June 29-July 5, 2015

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July!  I love this time of year, but it is hot!  I love finding fun summer makeup that won’t meltdown and that is on trend.

Below, find some of my new faves that help me achieve an easy and long-lasting summer look:

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed ($29.00 USD) — Instantly erase the appearance of your pores and fine lines. This is your award-winning airbrushed silk anti-aging finishing powder now in a pressed formula. This talc-free hydrating powder is created to give your skin a flawless finish with the sweep of a brush.

Formulated with anti-aging ingredients including peptides, real silk, hydrolyzed collagen, and the optically blurring Drops of Light Technology, this powder was created to erase the look of pores and other skin imperfections. This talc-free pressed powder is translucent and buildable, perfect for touch-ups throughout the day!

What I think: I’m a big fan of the original Bye Bye Pores loose powder.  The pressed powder is just as good, but is easier to carry along.  The powder itself gives my skin a finished look and doesn’t settle in fine lines or wrinkles.  It makes my skin look smooth and minimizes the appearance of my pores.

Palladio The Definer Contour and Highlight Duo
Palladio The Definer Contour and Highlight Duo

Palladio The Definer Contour and Highlight Duo ($8 USD) — Two-sided, super-soft contouring jumbo crayon. The perfect tool for defining, refining and highlighting facial features, this unique crayon includes a highlighting shade to illuminate and soften, and a darker contour shade to accentuate and define features.

What I think:  Contouring is the big thing right now and I think it can be a great tool to have to make certain areas of the face look thinner.  But, if overdone, it can look a little 80’s soap queen!  This duo has very soft pencils the blend really easily. It gives a subtle contour that I really like.  And it is so affordable.  The highlighter is pretty under the eyebrow and on top of cheekbones.

Rodial Instaglam Skin Tint SPF 30
Rodial Instaglam Skin Tint SPF 30

Rodial Instaglam Skin Tint SPF 30 ($45 USD) — A lightweight tinted moisturizer with the added benefit of SPF 30 protection, designed to provide medium, buildable coverage for a flawless, even toned complexion. Available in four shades: Capri, Hamptons, St Barts and Rio, the Instaglam Skin Tint contains hyaluronic acid and hydromanil to increase the skin’s moisture levels for long-lasting hydration and soft supple skin.

What I think: This is a nice compo of moisturizer, SPF and color, which is great in the summer when you want to use less products to get out the door faster! It’s very lightweight and sinks in quickly. The coverage is medium, which is perfect for summer.  Heavy makeup isn’t fun in the heat!

SKINDINAVIA Makeup Primer Spray ($35 4 fl. oz.) – The first silicone-free makeup spray primer on the market. Silicone is so slippery it can actually make your makeup “pool” into pores. Our primer has been clinically shown to reduce pore size, redness and users also noticed fewer breakouts and balanced sebum production over 4 weeks, it’s like you’re misting the equivalent of green juice, let’s say, on your skin every single day that helps your it rebound and counteract the effects of talcs, foundation, etc. See image and clinical results below. (Happy to fill you in on all the science/technology behind our proprietary formula!)

SKINDINAVIA Makeup Finishing Spray ($35 4 fl. oz.) – The only makeup spray to be clinically-proven to extend makeup wear for 16+ hours. Used by Lady Gaga, Fergie on tour; I can put you in touch with this celebrity makeup artist!

What I think: I have tried the primer before and love it.  It is quick and easy to use, and provides a smooth canvas for makeup.  The setting spray was new to me, but I like how you just spritz it on, and makeup last all day!

Lipstick Queen Endless Summer SPF 15 Collection
Lipstick Queen Endless Summer SPF 15 Collection

Lipstick Queen Endless Summer SPF 15 Collection ($22 each) — Enriched with Vitamin E and natural oils, these glossy, super-nourishing, surf-inspired lipsticks keep lips intensely moisturized while broad spectrum sunscreen protects against the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays. With shade names Aloha, Hang Ten, Perfect Wave and Stoked, the Endless Summer collection of moisturizing and SPF 15 lipsticks are sunshine in a tube!

What I think: I have tried Aloha, which is a sheer red.  It’s really pretty, but I was pleasantly surprised at how moisturizing it is.  It feels like a lip balm, but really gives a nice color.  I love the SPF, too.  Burnt lips are no fun!

Create a Flawless Canvas With Palladio Primers and Foundation

I love the herbal and vitamin infused Palladio products. They give good coverage and are good for you — at an affordable price! Below, I review the new herbal primers and foundation.

Eye Primer ($8.00) — Meet the new industry standard in eyeshadow primers—one that retails for LESS THAN HALF the cost of department store brands! Enhanced with 5 different herbal extracts as well as Vitamins A, C and E, this sheer, silicone-based formula glides on like silk and then vanishes instantly. It’s the ultimate makeup kit accessory, that eliminates creasing and ensures maximum shadow vibrancy all-day long.

Face Primer ($12.00) — Our unique silicon formula creates a velvety seal that literally treats the skin by delivering active ingredients such as Gingko Biloba (which promotes blood circulation) and Aloe Vera (which contains soothing properties). Also enriched with several key herbs and vitamins that combat elasticity breakdown, this foundation base smoothes fine lines and imperfections by filling pores, allowing a flawless foundation application. (Suitable for all skin types.)

Herbal Liquid Foundation Tubes ($10.00) — This unique, oil-free formula contains light-reflecting pigments which diffuse and bend to create a natural, matte appearance. Vitamins A and E, as well as Ginseng and Gingko extracts, aid in reducing the look of fine lines, large pores and other imperfections. Enrichments like Cucumber, Aloe Vera and Chamomile extracts sooth and moisturize the skin while evening its complexion. Designed with convenience in mind, this all day, sheer-to-medium coverage comes in an easy-to-squeeze tube that ensures no product (or money) goes to waste. (Suitable for all skin types.)

What I think: I love that all three of these products are so great for my skin. Although skeptical at first, I use eye primers every day. They make the eyelids smooth and help shadows last all day and do not crease. The face primer makes my skin so soft and had a great slip that makes my concealer and foundation slide right on. The foundation is the perfect touch to balance my color, gets rid of my read cheeks and makes my pores look smaller. Beautiful!

Palladio Cosmetics Part 2 — More Great Herbal Cosmetics!

I have reviewed the herbal, vitamin enriched and very affordable Palladio beauty products before. I have recently tried some different products from this great line and wanted to share!

The Rice Paper ($4.00) is one of Palladio’s most ingenious and bestselling products. This is a very unique, oil-absorbing two-sided, tissue that is made with natural rice.  The matte side (without powder) is for blotting to absorb the excess oils and the powdered side is for finishing. This neat product is packaged in a pull out tissue packet that is will fit in even the smallest handbag. It comes in Translucent, Natural for lighter skin tones and Warm Beige for darker skin tones. This is great for mid-day freshening up.

For lip products, I love the Lip Ink ($6.00)  and the Plump n’ Shine Lip Gloss ($6.00). The lip ink is like a marker for the lips. It is touted as hydrating and waterproof, but it actually makes my lips a little dry. I do love the stained look it give. I tried Rose, which is like my lips, but brighter! To keep lips moisturized, I like applying the Plump n’ shine gloss over the Lip Ink. This gloss has a collagen and maxi lip formula for luscious plumped up lips. It includes a brush applicator and is enriched with herbal ingredients. This is not a plumper that stings, it naturally enhances lips.

Herbal Mascaras ($6.00) — are uniquely packaged with a brush and lash separator on one end. They are fortified with panthenol and vitamin B5 to strengthen and  thicken lashes. They are also enriched with 5 beneficial herbs: ginseng, green tea, gingko biloba, chamomile and aloe vera for conditioning. The mascara are available in Lengthening, Thickening and Waterproof formulas. I have the thickening mascara and it does thicken my lashes and doesn’t run.

Palladio — Natural Cosmetics at an Affordable Price

Palladio Beauty creates affordable makeup that is actually good for you. The products are enriched with herbs and vitamins and come in quite a variety of products and shades.

Some of the products I have tried are:

Herbal Lipstick ($6.00) — This vanilla-scented lipstick’s formula contains “diamond clusters” that are touted to create an irresistible look of frost and glimmer on the lips. Out of the 40 shades, I tried Precious, a rosy pink. It is shimmery, but not glittery and the color was subtle and was moisturizing too.

Mosaic ($10.00) — is five harmonizing hues of pinks, tans and browns combined in one powder kit. They can be used individually or blended together to create a single shade to match your skin type. They can be used as an overall bronzer, blush, eye shadow or an overall face highlight. I tried Sun Kissed, a light bronzer. It is very soft and pretty, and is available in 8 kits of blush or bronzer.

One of may favorite Palladio products are the Baked Eye Shadows ($7.00 for single colors; $8.00 for trios). These are highly pigmented, shimmery and last longer than regular shadows.  They are available in 12 single shades and 8 trios. I love the glimmer and choices of colors that these shadows offer. Fun!
