Fab New Makeup Looks For Fall

Have you switched up your makeup look for fall yet? I know fall is still in a few days, but I am wearing deeper, shimmery colors and going for a more dramatic and made up look (now that my fake tan is fading, I can’t just wear a lot of bronzer and lip gloss and call it good).

What I think: This is a great mascara for everyday (1 coat), or special occasions (2 or more coats). It really builds for a dramatic look — lengthening and volumizing. Love!

What I think: This is my new favorite lip gloss! I usually love, sheer and shimmery glosses, but this creamy, full-coverage gloss is perfect! It is creamy and not sticky, plus the color is gorgeous. And the mirrored and lighted packaging is really fun to use.

Jane Iredale Jelly Jar Gel Eyeliner in Green ($28 USD) — Soft and creamy, they glide on smoothly for a defined or smudgeable line, then set to stay just how you like. Highly pigmented, water resistant and long lasting.

What I think: First of all, I love this army green, it is really pretty and appropriate for fall. Second, it’s super easy to apply with an eyeliner brush. But, make sure it’s perfect quickly, because once it dries it will stay on for hours!

Pur Minerals Lip Gloss Sticks ($16 USD) — Is it a gloss, is it a pencil, or is it something better? Pur’s megawatt Lip Gloss Sticks give you the jaw-dropping bold lip look you expect from a gloss with application ease of a jumbo pencil. Bursting with rich emollients and vitamin E, these buttery smooth sticks condition lips as they colour. Now that’s something to smile about. Paraben free.

What I think: The color above is called Honey Pie. It is a great fall nude and applies creamy and smooth. The feel of this is almost like a balm. This is a really nice product for days that you just want to slick on your lip color and go!

Seeing Wrinkles? Try La Roche-Posay’s Redermic [C] Eyes

I was recently chosen as La Roche-Posay’s Blogger of the Month For September. How exciting!

La Roche-Posay asked me to chose an item to review and I chose Redermic [C] Eyes ($44.99). As a lady in my forties, taking care of my eye area is so important. Not only are the eyes the windows to your soul, they give people a peek into your age!

The claim for Redermic [C] Eyes is that it plumps, fills* and visibly reduces crow’s feet wrinkles. Suitable for sensitive skin. The benefits are:

What I think: This is a really special eye cream. Right after applying around my eye area, the skin look smoother, glowing and much younger. I pat it in under my eye, around the side and under the brow bone. As I have been using it for a few weeks, I really do notice an improvement of the texture of my skin. No crows feet, yay!

Nicole Miller Stereo Earbuds ($20 USD)– It’s hard to see in the photo, but they are a dark cobalt blue. The two ends of the ear buds snap together for easy storage and there is a button on the cord that will pause the music and allow you to answer your phone. Product Round-Up — My Fave Beauty Things Week of September 8, 2014!

We are a couple of weeks into September and it is cooling down and feeling like fall. I am into pumpkin spice lattes, candy corn and… tropical fragrances! I guess I’m not yet ready to let go of summer.

This week I am loving a mini makeup applicator, a quick skin smoothing facial, yummy bath and fragrance products that smell like coconut, a tropical scented perfume and a fresh facial mist.

September Julep Maven Box

I received my Julep Maven September box this week! I was so excited, because I haven’t received a Maven box for a few months. I have been a member since February 2013, so I’m allowed to skip my monthly box whenever I want to and the last few boxes have seemed like repeats of former colors. This collection, the Art Walk, seemed a bit different. Plus I really wanted to try their new Plush Pout lip crayon!

Here is the box I received:

This was the Boho Glam box. It Included:

Erin (Boho Glam): Oyster grey crème
Mary Lee (Boho Glam): Oxblood satin
Plush Pout Lip Crayon: Rich, full-coverage color with a moisturizing treatment core, I chose almond nude

Plus I chose three add ons to my order at a reduced price: Queen Anne a Lilac confetti microglitter (Julep’s 3rd anniversary color), Lola a moonlit night blue satin, and Kirby a silver jagged glitter top coat. For purchasing three add ons, I was promised a surprise gift.

These are the colors I received from left to right — Kirby, Queen Anne, Mary Lee, Erin, Lola. My two surprise colors were Daria, dark slate grey crème and Candace, golden chocolate microglitter. Both are great fall colors, but I already have both.

This photo’s a little blurry, but it’s the Plush Pout in Almond Nude. It has a moisture core and is really nice on. It has the feel of a creamy lipstick.

New Fall Offerings From L’Occitane!

I have recently received a wonderful package of new fall L’Occitane products for my honest review. As a fan of L’Occitane, I was so excited!

L’Occitane has introduced a face oil to their luxurious Divine collection, fresh body gels and other soaps to their Bonne Mine Collection and a new bath and body collection called Aromachologie.

I really enjoyed testing these products as they contain natural ingredients that I feel good about applying to my skin.

L'Occitane Divine Oil — L’Occitane Divine Oil

L’Occitane Divine Youth Oil ($96 USD) — This ‘liquid gold’ formula features seven unique plant oils to enhance skin’s overall texture and radiance. To be used both day and night; this luxurious lightweight oil ($96) will give skin a much-needed surge of moisture.

What I think: Love this luxurious oil. I have been using it in place of my night time serum. It is so moisturizing, and once it sinks it, it is not greasy at all. In the morning, my skin is so soft and hydrated.

What I think: This shower gel has such a lovely fresh scent. I have been using it also as a shave gel, and it works really well. Plus, the scent of lemon lingers on my skin. I would love to try it in the other scents, too. The containers are stackable (there is a square indentation on the bottom of the bottle), so you can have a few in your shower and they won’t take up too much space.

Product Round-Up — My Fave Beauty Things Week of August 18th!

It was so hot in Kansas City this week! I didn’t even want to go outside, but as a busy woman, I had errands to run. At least my makeup stayed put!

This week, I have been loving waterproof eye liners and mascara, a new powder foundation, a fresh body scrub, a cute new headband, and a rich body lotion.

What I think: Right now, I have been using this in Chantilly (fair) dry as a light foundation. It works great in the heat. When it gets cooler, I will probably use it wet for more coverage. It lasts all day and doesn’t stick in my pores. I also love the case that it comes in.

Laura Mercier Eau Fraiche Verbena Infusion Gel Body Scrub ($40 USD) — Refresh and revive with this invigorating gel cleanser that gently exfoliates while removing impurities without drying or stripping skin of its natural oils. What I think: This smells fantastic! So fresh! I also love the gel consistency of this. I have never tried a gel scrub and I like how gentle it is on my skin.

What I think: This bow is so cute! I love the dark denim look. It is great to keep my hair off of my face and will be perfect for fall outfits!
