My Beauty Favorites — Week of February 29-March 6, 2016

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone had a great week. It was warm in Kansas City today and I loved it!

This week I am loving effective skincare. Now that I’m out of the cold air, I feel my skin is looking and feeling better. And, the products below are definitely helping!

I was sent these fab products by KORRES, Clarity Rx and Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare for my honest review:

KORRES Wild Rose Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial ($48 USD) — A breakthrough in beauty sleep. The weightless soufflé melts into skin and works overnight for brighter, petal-soft skin by morning. What I think: This is such a fluffy cream! I apply it over my serum at night and it sinks right into my skin. Many night treatments are so heavy, but this one is light, but does really moisturize. In the morning, my skin is so soft. I am going to continue to use and hope to see lightening of dark spots.

What I think: I have been using this day and night under my moisturizers. It is fragrance free and has a gel consistency. It sinks right into my skin, giving me a smooth surface for my moisturizer and makeup. It evens out my skin tone and brightens my skin. It also leaves my skin very soft!

Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare Recapture Day + IR Defense Anti-Aging Cream SPF 30 ($69 USD) — is formulated with a bio-copper complex that helps correct the most visible signs of aging. It uses three effective technologies to revive, improve and protect your skin while recapturing a youthful appearance.

What I think: I always either use a moisturizer with SPF daily or a sunscreen. I love this product because it is a multi-tasker. It also really hydrates my skin without being heavy. I have tried this before and I’ve noticed that my skin tone is smoother and firmer with continuous use.

Transition Into Spring With Luxe Skincare!

I am lucky to be able to try so many great skincare products. And I love so many of them, from drugstore brands to department and beauty supply stores.

But, I have to admit, there is something about trying luxe, high-end skincare. The packaging is gorgeous and the products usually smell and feel amazing.

What I think: These products are so innovative! The facial foam cleans skin without drying it out. The lotion is a fluid and I apply it with a cotton pad. It’s very cool! Then I use the serum and the lotion. My skin is very hydrated and so, so soft! I love that these are made with silk because they do hydrate and soften. I am going to continue using them and hope to see more improvements over time.

Brand Review — Ramy Beauty Therapy

I love discovering new brands and reviewing cool products!

This week, I have been loving products from Ramy Beauty Therapy. It was created by makeup artist Ramy. His philosophy is simple: “Minimum makeup, Maximum impact!” Meaning, if you select the correct color palette to enhance your features and apply it correctly, you can look younger and more beautiful with a minimum of products and effort.

I was sent the following products for my honest review:

The stencils are great for those who need a shape to their brows. My brows are fairly defined, I just tweeze a little to keep them neat. The Arch Angel is great for keeping brows in the shape you want them to be and filling in color. It worked on my dark brown brows and didn’t make me look too made up. I haven’t used anything like this before and think it is a cool idea. And the little pot of product will last a long time.

Ramy Beauty Therapy Perfect Eye Wand Liner & Shadow

I like to do the daytime look. I actually take a light-colored shadow and brush over my whole eyelid. Then I line my eyes with the liner and apply the shadow in the crease. The look is pretty amazing! The liner is very dark, but not black and the shadow smudges really well to create the perfect shade. So pretty!

Ramy Beauty Therapy Alive! Blush ($19 USD) — One of a kind, long-wearing color. Micronized and silicone treated for extremely smooth application. This blush literally seems to bring skin to life with its perfect blend of pink, gold and brown color. Great for sweeping over eyes to really make eye color pop! A great alternative for women who are not inclined to wear eyeshadows. Simply sweep over eyes with blush brush for a finished, polished look.

This is such a pretty, neutral color! It works great on the eyelids with the eyeliner above. Plus, it makes such a natural-looking blush. Just enough color and shimmer to define the cheeks. I like using softer colors for spring and summer and this is perfect!

Happy March! I am so looking forward to Spring. Spring makes me think of green, which of course reminds me of St. Patrick’s Day!

It’s fashionable to go green – and gold! Feeling Lucky?

Exotic Green is on the left (and underneath Feeling Lucky? on the right). It is sheer kind of like a jelly polish and took 3 coats to become opaque. On, it is so pretty. It would be nice as an every day color and would look cool with a matte top coat.

Feeling Lucky? is basically a clear top coat with green and white glitter with gold shamrocks. It looks great on, but takes a little practice to fish the shamrocks out.

Happy Ending

San Francisco

Both colors above are shimmers with two coats each. Happy Ending is a bright green shimmer. San Francisco is a darker color — perfect for St. Patrick’s Day.

What I think: I received the four lightest shades, 40-43. They are all perfect for my skintone. I think 41 is my favorite, because it has a pink tone to it. I usually share makeup I receive, but I am hoarding all four shades because I love them all! This lipstick is so moisturizing and looks amazing on. I might have to go get a few more! LOVE!!!

What I think: Even though it is a huge trend, I haven’t tried many matte lipsticks. I do like this one. It is affordable and the nude is a great color. When I applied it, it dried down to a moisturizing matte, and it wasn’t drying at all. I have issues with lipstick traveling under my lip, but this didn’t!

What I think: I love some volume in my hair, so I was excited to try these products. Both products do add lots of volume. I apply the mousse on damp hair and it doesn’t leave it sticky. I dry my hair and add the hairspray. It keeps the volume going. I also like to spray my hair, pile it up on the top of my head and let it dry. When I take my hair down, it is big and bouncy. Fun for going out!

Body Moisturizers To Get You To Spring

My skin is so dry! The temperature in Kansas City has been fluctuating, so my skin is so confused. I keep it hydrated with moisturizing body products. If I don’t, my skin feels dry and tight.

I was sent the products below for my honest review:

What I think: I have been using this in the Mint + Coconut scent. Even though I’m not much of a mint person, this lotion is refreshing. It is also very hydrating without being heavy. I like using it on my legs and feet before bedtime.

I like to apply it dry to my skin, rub it in, then remove it (and my makeup) with a damp cloth. My skin is clean and so soft! I love a moisturizing mask because they can calm my redness, this one is no exception. I applied it, left it on for 10 minutes, and my skin was smooth.

The moisturizer is a drink of water for dry skin. It instantly softens and hydrates. I love that it works overnight to deliver moisture by morning. There are other products in the collection, so check them out!

What my husband thinks: My husband loved these products. They smell fresh and masculine. He doesn’t use a lot of skincare, but he really liked the scrub. It got rid of the dry skin and made his face soft. The soap he used in the shower and liked how clean it left his skin.

He also liked the shaving cream. He is used to shaving cream that foams, but he said that this worked just as well and that he got a smooth shave.

I have this in Heat Wave. It is so gorgeous and bright! I think it will be so pretty in the summer when I have a little (faux) tan. It blends very well and gives a nice flush.

essence mono eyeshadow ($1.99 USD) — Formulated with finely-milled, highly pigmented powder to provide long-lasting and full coverage. Available in 9 shades.

This is gorgeous! This gold shade is lovely. Great for an eyeshadow or highlighter. It’s very pigmented, too!

essence all about bronze 01 eyeshadow — ($5.49 USD) — All about… beautiful eyes! Gorgeous eyeshadow palettes with eight complementing, buildable colors and multiple finishes; satin, matte and metallic effects.

This is a beautiful, shimmer palette that screams summer to me! It comes in other shades too, such as nudes and pinks. These are so affordable, pick them all up!

essence I love volume mascara waterproof ($4.99 USD) — The newest member of the most beloved mascara family – now available in a waterproof formula! The large fiber brush separates and covers each individual lash for breathtaking volume. Ophthalmologist-tested.

I’m always looking for a great waterproof mascara, they are hard to find. This one gives volume and length, and stays on all day!

essence liquid lipstick 05 ($3.49 USD) This innovative formula unites the coverage of a lipstick with the moisturizing shine of a gloss. The silky texture goes on smoothly and dries shiny, not sticky! Available in 6 shades.

I thought this was a lipstick at first, if you turn the tube upside down, that’s what it looks like! I was so surprised when I opened it and it was a liquid lipstick. It is very moisturizing (not matte). This color is too bright for me, but I want to try it in a nude.

What I think: I love all three of these products. They are very easy to use (no water needed!), and leave my skin very soft. I like to use the cleanser day and night. Micellar waters have become my daily go-to, because you pour on a pad then wipe the face. They are easy, work well and provide skincare benefits.

I also follow it up with the toner to keep my skin clean and clear. It also leaves it moisturized and not dry.

The moisturizer is amazing! It is light enough to use in the day time under makeup, but really keeps my skin soft and firm. It also doubles as a night cream if you need a light moisturizer.

I use all types of makeup, but especially cream makeup. I make sure to include an SPF if my makeup doesn’t have sunscreen. The scent of the toner and moisturizer are VERY lemony. The cleanser has a softer citrus scent. The lemon products are a little strong, but the benefits of the system outweigh the scent.
