It’s just about summertime! Today it was over 80 degrees in Kansas City. Which is awesome and has me thinking of easy, bright looks for the season.

I was sent the following products for my honest review. I have found some great summer makeup and I hope you will get ideas from these awesome picks!

Laura Mercier High Coverage Concealer ($28 USD) — This unique 3-in-1 concealer was designed to cover, de-puff and brighten under eye circles. What I think: This is a perfect spring and summer shade. It is a bright, flattering shade and I like the matte finish. I like it best on cheeks. It is a little dry for my lips, but looks pretty with a sheer lip gloss over it.

What I think: I don’t know how to apply theatre makeup, but I have to say I love this powder! I have it in gold, and mixed with the liquid it makes an extremely long lasting shadow. Perfect for hot summer days. I think it will also be fun to use for Halloween or the holidays to make festive looks. Easy to mix and apply.

Ellis Faas Mascara ($34 USD) — A creamy texture that perfectly coats, lengthens and separates each individual lash. Lashes instantly appear longer, lifted and combed. It is a lengthening mascara for subtle or prominent accents to your lashes. Well-suited for customizing different looks. Available in Black and Milk Chocolate.

What I think: I love this mascara for a natural day look. It separates so well that it never clumps. More coats creates more volume.

What I think: I have been testing this in Red Kiss. It is a little bright for me, but I love the opacity and coverage. It is almost like a liquid lipstick. It stays on for hours and when the gloss wears off, I noticed a pretty stain.

Ready To Tan? — Do It Safely With Self-Tanner, and Protect Your Skin With SPF

I am a huge advocate of using sunscreen all year round, but especially during the warm seasons when I go outside more than usual.

But, I also love not being pasty white in the summer! So I have not only intensified my sunscreen efforts, I have began self-tanning. I never get super dark, but I do like a bit of a glow.

Below are products to help get ready for the sun — and to help you look like you’ve been soaking up the rays!

Fake Bake Fair ($25.95 USD) — As summer approaches. Fake Bake’s Fair is Fake Bake’s build-your-own self-tanner that is as easy to apply as any moisturizer and smells amazing! There is no better way to give your skin a light, golden, natural glow! Fair is wonderful on even the palest of skin tones and builds gradually so the effect is easy to control. What I think: If you want to get a gradual, natural looking tan, this product is for you! I love the guide color, it makes it easy to see where you have and have not applied the products yet. And it smells nice, which is important if you decide to apply it every day.

What I think — This comes in Fair, Medium, and Dark. I like using the Medium. This is very easy to apply. Just squirt the mousse onto a tanning mitt or gloves, and rub in. Really fast! It does last longer than a long time without fading, which I love. It smells pretty good, but there is a faint smell to it.

Jane Iredale Powder-Me ($45.50 USD) — This dry sunscreen can be used on the body, face and scalp for UVB/UVA SPF 30 protection and is water-resistant for up to 40 minutes. Powder-Me SPF contains titanium dioxide and natural clay which is completely free of contaminants and atmospheric pollutants. Available in three shades: Translucent, Tanned, and Golden.

What I think: This sunscreen is easy to apply with the built-in applicator. I have it in the Translucent, which is good to use on the face, body and hair. I think the other two would be fun to try in the summer, especially in cute summer outfits!

What I think: I have been testing this in the SPF 50. For me, the higher the SPF, the better! I really love the scent, but I don’t see much of a bronzing color. But, I love the high SPF!

Lumene’s Bright Now Vitamin C BB Serum ($21.99 USD) — This ultra-lightweight, pore minimizing, colorless serum contains light-reflecting pigments that add an instant glow to your complexion. The sheer finish Vitamin C BB Serum is completely free of harmful parabens and synthetic colorants, giving your skin only what it really needs!

What I think: This is an affordable, but very effective serum. It has the consistency of a light cream, but absorbs right into the skin and does not leave it greasy at all. It also leaves a subtle glow. I have noticed that my skin looks smoother, and used after my Dr. Jarts+ cleanser, my pores are very small indeed!

This is a HUGE size! I have tried it before and really love the natural color it gives. It looks like you’ve been out in the sun and got a very even tan. I have used the mitt and love the coverage you get with it without the mess. The self-tanner is tinted so you can make sure that you get and even application and it is good for you skin. It is infused with Maracuja oil. I haven’t tried the face towelettes but I will this weekend as I am doing a self-tanning post next week and I will let you know how they work.
