Tips for applying the kit:

What I think: This kit is an amazing value, all of the products together would normally be over $214! This is a perfect way to try tarte. My favorite product is the mascara (AMAZING) and I am really liking the new undereye concealer. The brushes are fab, too!

What I think: I have lots of BB, CC and even a DD liquid foundation, but this is my first CC crème contact. I am testing this in light, and really enjoy it for a full coverage look. I apply this with my BeautyBlender and it goes on perfectly. So smooth and pretty, it really evens out my skin tone.

What I think: Black smoky eyes are hot again this fall. This shadow has a little sparkle in it and is perfect for a night out. Really great color payoff as well.

What I think: I have always been a fan on Laura Geller’s pencil eyeliners. I have been using this in Purple Rain. It is a gorgeous shimmering shade of purple. This is a very soft pencil, so make sure that you don’t press too hard (like I did). You could lose the point. But, it does last all day and all shades are gorgeous for fall!
5. Purminerals Big Blink Mascara ($20 USD) Fake a full night’s sleep with Pür Minerals Big Blink Mascara. What I think: This is currently my favorite mascara. I use the longer side first so that when I apply it I won’t get lumpy lashes, then the short side for more volume, but you can play with it to see the perfect application for you. And boy, the results! My short, stubby lashes looks so long and lush! Awesome!

What I think: I have this in an older color called Honey Pie (above), which is a perfect neutral for fall. The stick itself is very moisturizing on the lips and leaves a soft, glossy finish. Very nice!

9. Laura Mercier Lip Plumper in Charmed ($30 USD) — Lips look visibly fuller, healthier, sexier with a dose of colour and high-definition shine.
What I think: I have a lot of Laura Mercier glosses, but this is the first lip plumper I have tried from the brand. It does not sting, but does plump well and is not sticky! I am testing a limited edition color called Charmed. It is a light peach sheer color and is gorgeous, perfect with the hot black smoky eye!

What I think: I am so loving this brush set — and what a great price for the quality! My teenage daughter has stolen most of my eye shadow brushes, so I was glad to get a couple in this kit. For the past few summers I have been enjoying experimenting with self-tanners. I am very wary of the sun and try to wear lots of sunscreen when I go out. Plus, I am not much of a sunbather anyway.
It has taken me these few years to get self-tanning right. It is so easy for skin to become streaky or blotchy after self-tanning. But if you exfoliate the skin and slather moisturizer on your hands and feet (these places can look uneven), plus use a fab product like the ones below, self-tanners can make you look great!
I have been receiving samples of self-tanners to review for my honest opinion. Here’s what I think of the gradual self tanners and instant self-tanners I have been using.

Winter getting you down? I find that being snowed in makes me want to get out and go shopping! Today, I finally got out of the house and went looking for some bright spring makeup. Some of the bright shimmery colors did lift my spirit. Here are some great new finds:

What I think: I like this for a few reasons. First, it has SPF 30 — that is amazing for makeup of any kind. If your moisturizer doesn’t have SPF, this can do that job for you. Also, for a primer, you get pretty good coverage. It could be the only face product (besides powder and a little concealer). I gives a natural matte finish. This is available in 4 shades — Fair, Light, Medium and Tan. If you plan on using foundation over this, the shade doesn’t need to match exactly. I use a combination of Fair and Light and I can use it for foundation.

What I think: I like to use the brush and apply the over the areas of my face I wish to appear lifted or highlighted like above my brows, under my eyes, above above cheekbones, or straight down the bridge of my nose. The cream formulation makes it easy to blend. Very nice!

What I think: These are fantastic natural primers. The poreless primer is the one I like to use, it has a silicon feel to it and gives skin a matte finish. The brightening one has a creamy, pearly texture and would be perfect for dull, dry skin that needs some shine. My skin has a little bit too much shine in the summer, but it would probably work for me in the winter when my skin is dry.
The eye primer works really well. It mattifies lids and makes shadows last longer. The only thing is that it dries a little white, so I suggest to use just a little and rub it in well.
