Bethany Frankel’s Skinnygirl Tinted Daily Moisturizer

Skinnygirl Tinted Daily Moisturizer SPF 15

I don’t watch the Real Housewives TV shows, but of course I know who the main housewives are from the media.  Before I tried the new Skinnygirl Tinted Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 ($10.99 USD), I knew that Bethenny Frankel was a reality TV star, but I didn’t know much about her brand, Skinnygirl.

Bethenny started her line with lo-cal alcoholic beverages and is branching out to a face and body line.

The claim is:

Even out your skin tone without using heavy makeup products. This formula is rich in Vitamin E and has Broad Spectrum SPF 15 to help prevent the visible signs of aging from the sun. Choose a light, medium, or dark shade to reduce redness and smooth out skin for an even-toned, gorgeous glow.

Key Ingredients:

SPF 15 – Protects skin from sun damage
Vitamin E – An antioxidant that has anti-aging properties to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles
Jojoba Esters – A deep moisturizer

What I think:  I like the formula of this.  It feels like a moisturizer, but can look a little heavy if not blended correctly.  This has a built-in application brush — you unlock it, then squeeze up the amount you want and it comes out through the brush.  I don’t care for the brush because it leaves streaks on the skin when applied and you really need to blend it in.  I like squeezing the amount I need onto my hand, then applying with a good foundation brush.

The coverage is medium — not light like most tinted moisturizers, so I think it would work for a lot of women’s needs.  I also like the SPF 15.  I don’t know if I would purchase this again, but it a good price for what you get.& Body for any upcoming summer beauty stories you might have in the works.

Available at Walmart and http://skinnygirlfaceandbodystore.com/.  Enjoy!

Philosophy Hope In A Tinted Moisturizer

Philosophy Hope In A Tinted Moisturizer

This is the time of year that I start switching heavier foundations to a tinted moisturizer.  When the weather gets warmer, I want a lighter product on my face. It just feels and looks better!

I was happy to test Hope in a Tinted Moisturizer ($38.00 USD) from Philosophy. This product claims to combine advanced moisture, sheer color and SPF 20 to hydrate, revive and protect skin, leaving it fresh, hydrated and radiant.

Now Hope in a Jar, the award-winning, lightweight daily moisturizer, can color your world beautiful with this tinted moisturizer. Its sheer, glowing color helps smooth and enhance the complexion. Broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sun protection and a blend of antioxidants protect your skin against wrinkles and environmental attack. Its unique souffle texture absorbs quickly, yet leaves behind long-wearing coverage with a weightless texture that all skin types will love.

features & benefits

  • 4-in-1, multitasking formula combines sheer color + moisture + antioxidants + spf 20
  • lightweight texture glorifies all skin types
  • airless pump dispenses the perfect dose

What I think: This tinted moisturizer goes on smooth like Hope in a Jar, but provides almost full coverage like a foundation, but it does let the skin (including my freckles) shine through. I love the matte finish, which is important because a moisturizer can sometimes appear greasy on the skin right after application, but this doesn’t. The only minus for me is that the shade I have, light, is a little too warm for my skin tone. It’s not quite orangey, but it doesn’t match completely. I either need to tan or buy extra light the next time! But I really love that I get all of the goodness of Hope in a Jar with the added benefit of color.

Becca Cosmetics — Luxury Australian Company Will Help You Stay Beautiful This Summer!

Hot Australian cosmetics company BECCA Cosmetics creates high quality, natural looking makeup. The founder, Rebecca Morrice Williams founded the BECCA spurred on by the need to find a natural foundation that covers and conceals while staying fresh-looking all day long.

Always looking for great foundation, I’ve tried BECCA’s  Luminous Skin Colour ($42.00 USD), a combination tinted moisturizer and sheer foundation with a broad spectrum SPF 25 to protect against UVA and UVB rays. I found that this is very light coverage and moisturizing. It will be perfect for the summer when I want to throw on just one product to moisturize, cover and give ans SPF. I do need concealer for my dark circles and imperfections, but that is to be expected. All-in-all, a great tinted moisturizer! Also, it is available in a whopping 15 shades, so you are sure to find one that suits you.

A really fun and convenient product to go with your Luminous Skin Colour is the BECCA Beach Tint ($25.00 USD). This very pretty crème stain is easily blendable for cheeks and lips. It is  water-resistant, but is not leave lips feeling dry, as many stains do. Beach Tint comes in 5 delicious colors; Watermelon, Peach, Raspberry, Grapefruit and Strawberry. Not only are the shades the colors of the fruit, each tint is scented with that fruit. So fun! I have the Peach and the Grapefruit and Strawberry and they both smell fantastic!

You can not go wrong with Laura Geller’s fantastic make-up. She has some great new products that are perfect for the warmer weather including a lightweight tinted moisturizer and lip gloss with SPF and waterproof eyeliners. Try:

Barely There Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 (30.00 USD) is a foundation, sunscreen with UVA/UVB protection, and antioxidant moisturizer all in one.  This product is hypoallergenic, water-resistant, suitable for all skin types and is oil, fragrance, and talc free.

I love the texture of this tinted moisturizer. It isn’t too thin, which is great because I do get great coverage and a very natural look. The finish is not too shiny, but I get a little glow when I wear it. Very fab spring and summer foundation!

I-Care Eyeliner Waterproof Pencil Trio ($25.00 USD) — This is a fantastic eyeliner set. First of all, you get 3 universal shades, Black, Brown and Eggplant. Second, the tip is fine so you can draw a line as thick or as thin as you want. Need a thinner tip, sharpen the pencil with the built-in sharpener. Want a thicker line, use the included smudger for a smoky look. Plus the pencil is water-resistant and is ophthalmologist-tested and specifically formulated for use around the eyes, even for those who wear contact lenses and have sensitive eyes. Two thumbs up for these fab pencils!

Mini Shine and Shield SPF 15 Lip Gloss Trio ($24.00 USD) — These are like a shiny, liquid lipstick, instead of a sticky gloss. They contain a blend of vitamin E, cocoa seed butter, and pomegranate extract, Jojoba and safflower seed oil to help soften and moisturize lips.
