Urban Decay Stay Naked Foundation Review and More!

Hi all!  I have been testing out some new Urban Decay products that were sent for my honest review!

I love Urban Decay (I have also just purchased the Urban Decay Naked Honey palette and will be reviewing it next week).  Their products are innovative and cruelty free, and the ingredients are good for you! Here’s what I received:

IMG-1819

The main product I wanted to review is the Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation ($39 USD) — The claims for this foundation are:

This lineup of 50 shades with 9 shade intensities, 3 mastertones, and 7 undertones to dial in precise color match. The waterproof, longwear foundation feels like wearing nothing, thanks to a breathable, flexible formula that moves with you (all day and all night, up to 24 hours!). It not only feels better, it even looks better with its stay-true color, which minimizes the appearance of pores—so you always look like you.

My shade is 20CP, so it is light with a cool pink undertone.  It might be a little light for me, but I make it work with bronzer and blush.  I LOVE the finish of this foundation on me.  At 51 (yep), it’s important that I achieve a natural finish that doesn’t settle in wrinkles and pores.  This glides on my skin and makes me look flawless, but not like I’m wearing makeup. And it feels so light on (I hate greasy feeling foundation).  It’s so good and I’ve been wearing it everyday.  I need to start reviewing another foundation, but I only want to wear this.  LOL!

I also really love the The Ultimate Brush Off Translucent Loose Setting Powder ($36 USD)  — a finely-milled vegan powder that blends seamlessly to extend the wear of your foundation without adding any weight or texture (forget that old-school cakey feel). It sets makeup while absorbing oil and shine for a totally blurred-out effect, blending seamlessly without causing flashback, so you can take as many selfies as you want. Touch-ups on the go are easy thanks to the portable powder and its built-in, cruelty-free brush.

This powder is so good, it really is smooth and doesn’t cake at all.  I like using a sponge for my under eye area, but I do use this brush on the rest of my face.  It buffs in the powder and makes everything smooth and even.  I sometimes use a fluffier brush for a lighter application.  It’s lovely either way.

The last two items are lippies — Vice Lip Chemistry Lasting Glassy Tint in Pink Slip ($22 USD) and the Lip Plumper in Honey.

IMG-1820

On the left is the Lip Chemistry and on the right is the lip plumper.  Here’s more info about the lippies:

Vice Lip Chemistry is a vegan, high-gloss lip tint that reacts to your pH and creates a custom shade unique to your tone. Its lightweight, balm-like texture gives your lips a hit of hydration, so they feel moisturized. The lasting glassy tint adjusts to you; the color fully develops and reveals itself after just a few minutes and lasts up to 5 hours. Vice Lip Chemistry’s vegan formula goes on smooth and glossy (never sticky!) and does not transfer.

The vegan lip plumper gloss combines high shine with microfine, multidimensional glitter and a tantalizing scent. This formula has an almost-instant, refreshing tingly effect, creating fuller-looking lips minus that sticky feel. Caffeine, jojoba oil, and sunflower oil combine to give you smooth, intense shine with a cooling and plumping sensation.

My favorite of the two formulas is the lip plumper.  It’s a little tingly, but doesn’t hurt. It’s glittery, but will be nice for the holidays. It tastes like honey, too! The Lip Chemistry is cool.  It does change color and it feels really comfortable on.  I don’t think I will wear it everyday, but I’m having fun testing it out.

Purchase these at https://www.urbandecay.com/, Ulta, Sephora and other great beauty stores and websites.

Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol 1 Palette Review!

EF25E9FD-3979-4D0F-A7BD-EAA16829E7E6

Hi all!  I’m back with a palette review.  I was excited to pick up the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol 1 ($48 USD) when it launched.

I really enjoy Tati’s YouTube channel and was so happy to see when she launched this.

5D83DFAF-1586-4B45-A8EC-AEF8750505DDF4D9587F-38D6-4703-897E-80A6C9FAA857

So gorgeous!  This is such a pretty, everyday palette!  There are 6 tones and 4 textures.  You can make so many different looks!

Here are swatches by the tones:

IMG-1893

This is Memory and Ritual in the Glitter, Metallic, Sequin and Matte.  They all swatched really nicely.

IMG-1896.jpg

Story and Soothe in Glitter, Metallic, Sequin and Matte

IMG-1900

Aura and Poet in glitter, Metallic, Sequin and Matte.

I can see myself using the Ritual, Soothe and Aura shades the most.  But I will play with all of them.  I love the metallic texture and the mattes are beautiful and so easy to blend. I’m not the biggest glitter fan, but these are so pretty!

I really think Tati did an amazing job with this palette, especially for her first makeup launch.  The shades are universal and so nice for all different looks.  I’ve only used it a couple of times, but I really like it so far!

What do you think of the palette?  Did you pick it up?

October 2019 Beauty Favorites

Hi all, Happy Halloween! Can you believe the first of November is tomorrow?  The year is almost over!

Below are my beauty faves for October. As usual, If I have reviewed them before, I will include the link, if not, I will link to where you can purchase:

IMG-1826

I was loving a fun mix of makeup and skincare this month!

IMG-1832img-1833-scaled-2560-e1572549615349-scaled-2560.jpg

This is the NARS Makeup Your Mind Eye & Cheek Palette.  I reviewed it here.

I use this every day for my bronzer and blush.  I love the blendability and shades. I haven’t used the eye shadows as much because I have so many new palettes I’m trying out. They are very pretty, though!

IMG-1829

I have really been enjoying the essence Pure Nude Highlighter again.  I haven’t used it in a while, and I brought it out for my October Shop My Stash.  It can be subtle on, or built up to really shine! And it’s affordable, too.

IMG-1827 Revlon PhotoReady Candid Antioxidant Concealer in 015 Light is so nice!  I haven’t reviewed it yet because I’ve just started using it month.  I purchased it a few months ago, but the shade was too light for me in the summer. It’s very easy to blend and covers really well.  This really makes me want to purchase more Revlon makeup products!

I got the Kopari Lip Glossy in the Fall Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale, and it’s already almost gone!  It’s so smooth and hydrating.  I like to use it in the day and evening.  Definitely one I would repurchase again.

I wear my Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara over my Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer and my lashes look very long and don’t smudge!   The Thrive mascara is my favorite mascara discovery this year.  It’s so amazing!

IMG-1830.jpg

One of the skincare products this month I’ve been enjoying is the Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream.  I purchased this in the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale.  I use it as my day eye cream.  It instantly reduces dark circles.  It does have a bit of an orange tint to it, and maybe that’s why my eyes look so refreshed when I use it.

I am almost out of the Purlisse Blus Lotus Daily Moisturizer.  I got it in my August Ipsy Glam Bag Plus.  I’ve been using it every morning and really like how hydrating it is.  Plus, it has SPF 30!

I was sent Primera products for review, and have been using the Miracle Seed Essence after cleansing and toning.  It is a light hydrator and preps the skin for serum and other moisturizers.

That’s it for my October favorites.  Bring on November!  What have you been loving lately?

Anastasia Beverly Hills x Carli Bybel Palette Review

IMG-1798.jpg

Hi all!  I hope everyone had a great Monday!  I’m here with a review of the new Anastasia Beverly Hills x Carli Bybel palette ($45 USD).  I picked this up in my recent Ulta points haul.  I saved up my Ulta points and raked in some free makeup — it was amazing!

I thought this palette looked so pretty, so I picked it up!

Here’s the palette open:

IMG-1799

Isn’t it pretty!  Such a lovely, feminine color story. I think these colors are soft, but with all of the metallics, you can make a really bold look.

The shades are:

IMG-1800

  • Boli (metallic champagne)
  • Bybel (matte reddish-purple brown)
  • Mandala (metallic/duo chrome light purple)
  • Libra (metallic goldish)
  • Jode (shimmer teal)
  • OA (duo chrome blue + purple)
  • Boie (matte ash brown)
  • Bear (Matte beige)
  • Moo (metallic light gold)
  • Chai (matte light brown)
  • *Cindy (matte bright orange pressed pigment)*
  • Stev (matte dark red)
  • Aura (metallic red pink shimmer)
  • My Angels (metallic gold)

Swatches:

IMG-1804

From left to right — Boli, Bybel, Mandala, Libra, Jode, OA and Boie.

Bali and Mandala are very sheer and glittery.  The are nice eyeshadow toppers, but I wish they weren’t so glittery, because there is so much fallout.  And another issue I have is that Jode and OA are so similar, I don’t know why Carli chose to do that.  It’s hard to tell in the photo, But Jode is more gray-blue and OA has more purple in it and a bunch of glitter –but  I don’t think you need both.

From this row, I do really like the mattes and the shade Libra.

IMG-1807

From left to right — Bear, Moo, Chai, Cindy, Stev, Aura and My Angels.

I am a fan of all of these shades.  The metallics are all gorgeous!  I’ve worn all three and love them.  And the mattes blend very well and are so pretty.

I am glad I have this palette.  The shades are good quality and look very nice on the eyes. And they are fun, but still neutral enough for every day wear.

Did you pick up this palette?  What do you think?

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Review — September 2019

IMG-1525

Hey all!  It’s time for my September Ipsy Glam Bag Plus review! This is a subscription box that will always include 5 full-sized items. And the items included are mostly luxe or higher end items. This is such a great value for the high quality items included.

I have pretty much enjoyed this subscription. I have been debating keeping it because a lot of times. Unless I get tired of it, I think I’ll keep it until at least the end of the year.

Here’s what I received for September:

IMG-1535

This is what I received in my main box:

Total — $138.  Pretty good for spending $25.  Last month my value was over $200, though…but I guess each month it varies.

I’m excited to try the Ciate powder.  I’m saving until I am out of my current powders.  I also am so happy about the Wander Beauty brow pencil because it’s in my shade!

I have tried the I Dew Care mask, but I don’t think I need a full sized one.

I also added on three products — the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara mini, Ofra Cosmetics MADISON MILLER Smiley for Riley Lip Gloss, and a full sized Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara.  I added on a mini of the Thrive mascara last month and LOVE it!  So when I saw that the full size was available this month, I had to get it!

Here’s close ups of the palettes I received:

IMG-1539

I do follow You Tuber Madison Miller, and I’m happy to have received this from her collab with Ofra.  This is really pretty.  I love the blush, but wonder if the highlighters will be too dark for my fair skin tone.  I’m going to try it and see.  Here’s swatches:

IMG-1540.JPG     The highlighter on the left may work.  If not, they will make pretty eye shadows.

IMG-1542IMG-1543

This is a really cool palette, but I don’t know if I will keep it.  It’s mostly shimmers, and I like a few more mattes in my palettes.  I will either give this as a Christmas gift or a part of my next Instagram giveaway.

———————————————————————————————————————————

I think this is a pretty good month. I’ll use the face palette, the powder and the eyebrow pencil.  I will probably give the mask and palette away.  I am really happy with my add-ons. Next month, I’ll be trying Ipsy’s new subscription, Glam Bag Ultimate instead of Glam Bag Plus, so stay tuned for that review!

Do you get Ipsy Glam Bag Plus?  What did you get in your box this month? Are you going to try the Ultimate next month?

BoxyCharm BoxyLuxe Subscription Box Review — September 2019

IMG-1506.JPG

Hi all! I received my September BoxyLuxe!  This is my fourth one. I’m so excited! I’ve been a subscriber of BoxyCharm for over two years. The regular BoxyCharm box is $21 a month. BoxyLuxe is a once-a-quarter upgrade option you can add to your existing $21-a-month Boxycharm subscription. So for an additional $28.99, you’ll get the Luxe items, and be paying a total of $49.99 for that quarterly box.

I saw the spoilers for this box, I just didn’t know what variations I would get.  I did get to pick some of the items I would receive, which I really liked.

The theme for this month is All Access. There’s a good mix of makeup, skincare and hair care this month.  Here’s what I received:

IMG_1485.JPG

Total — $317.95!  That’s so good for spending $49.99.

Here’s a closer look at the items I received:

IMG_1499

I’m not the biggest fan of sleeping masks because they can be heavy and sticky.  I’m not sure if I will keep this one or give it away.

The Pineapple-C Bright Serum was one of the items I chose.  I’m almost out of my current Vitamin C Serum so I’m excited to have a new one to try. I have tried this a couple of times already and it does give a nice glow.

IMG_1502

Everyone received the Mistress Hair Balm.  I’ve tried this and am enjoying it. It smooths my frizzies and leaves my hair soft and shiny.

I haven’t tried the curling iron yet.  This is an item I got to choose — it was between this and a brush set.  I’ve never tried a clipless curling iron before so I’m curious to see how it works.

IMG_1500

These two items were another variation I chose.  I have never tried an infuser water bottle before, so that will be interesting.  And, I love Spongelle products!

img_1501.jpg

Every charmer received the eyeliner in black and the lipstick in one of three shades.

I don’t wear liquid eyeliner, so I will pass this one along.  I love the lipstick shade. It will be pretty for fall.

IMG_1503IMG_1504

I know this palette has been around for a while.  It was a variation.  At first I wasn’t blown away by this, but I decided to keep it.  I’m recently starting to get into matte shadow looks and I like these shades a lot.  I think it will be perfect for fall.

I’m pretty happy with this box.  I will use almost every item.  The only products I probably won’t use is the eyeliner and the sleeping mask. As good as that is, I think the only item I am really thrilled about is the serum.  I really loved my June BoxyLuxe because I loved every item in the box.  I’m hoping I’m more excited about the December BoxyLuxe!

Do you get BoxyLuxe?  What did you get this month?

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus Review — August 2019

img-1320.jpg

Hey all!  It’s time for my August Ipsy Glam Bag Plus review! This is a subscription box that will always include 5 full-sized items. And the items included are mostly luxe or higher end items. This is such a great value for the high quality items included.

I have pretty much enjoyed this subscription. I usually only use a couple of the items I receive each month, and so I’ve been debating keeping it. Unless I get tired of it, I think I’ll keep it until at least the end of the year.

Here’s what I received for August:

IMG-1322

I realize this is a lot of products for an Ipsy Glam Bag Plus — I got three add-ons this month.  Those are the top three products and I’ll talk about them later.  Here’s what I received in my basic box:

Total — $204.50 — Wow! That’s an amazing value for a $25 box.

IMG-1326

They usually have a little booklet, but this month it was a fold out card.  It does give details of all of the products I received.

IMG-1325

The product of these three I’m most excited about is the Purlisse Blue Lotus Moisturizer. I am almost out of my current SPF moisturizer, so this came at a great time!

I have quite a few peel off masks I’m not using, so I will probably gift this one away.  I do want to try other products from Hey Honey.  It looks like a great brand.

I have been wanting to try the foundation.  The shade is Light which might be a little dark one me normally, but it might be a good summer shade.

IMG-1324

These brushes are gorgeous!  I’m excited to use them. From top to bottom is 10F Concealer, 65EM Mini Shading, 105E Pencil, 15E Angled Brow and 35EM Mini Tapered.

I LOVE the handles!  It’s like a mermaid icicle!  LOL!IMG-1328IMG-1329

I am so glad I received this gorgeous palette! I’ve used it a couple of times already and love it.  I’ve never tried a palette from TheBalm, I’ve only had a small sample of the Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter.  I was going to swatch it, but forgot, so I’ll do a palette review for it.IMG-1327

These are my three add-ons this month!  I usually don’t do add-ons, but these were $3 each and I have been wanting to try the Coco Cabana Cream and the Thrive Causemetics Mascara. So far, I am LOVING the mascara. It’s a fiber mascara so it doesn’t smudge.

I might try the gorgeous Pixi blush or I might save it for a giveaway…we’ll see!

————————————————————————————————————-

I’m really happy with this month! Last month’s box was also good, so I’m on a roll!

I’ll use the palette, the brushes and the moisturizer.  I might try out the foundation and will probably give the mask away.  I am also happy with my add-ons.

Do you get Ipsy Glam Bag Plus?  What did you get in your box this month?

Shop My Stash — August 2019

img-1230.jpg

Hi all!  It’s August! It’s time for a new month and a new Shop My Stash! I’m always excited to play with new (again to me) products that I either haven’t used in a while or haven’t used much at all! My goal is to get more use out of the products I have and to see if they are something I want to keep.

Here are the palettes opened:

IMG-1231

I chose eyeshadow palettes that are very summery and shimmery! I have a little bit of a tan now and love bronzes, corals and golds!  Plus, I think my skin tone is tanned enough for  deeper bronzer!

IMG-1234IMG-1235

BH Cosmetics Desert Oasis – 19 Color Shadow & Highlighter Palette is so beautiful for summer!  I bought it last fall and need to use it more.  It’s mostly shimmers, but I like how two of the mattes are larger sized, since those are shade that are used a lot.  On the right hand side are highlighters.  They also make gorgeous eye shadow shades!

IMG-1236IMG-1237

Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions palette.  I received this in March from Ipsy Glam Bag Plus and I think I’ve used it once.  So, it’s time to give it a go! The shades are gorgeous and I’m excited to try it out.

IMG-1238IMG-1239 Both of these are from Benefit, the Galifornia blush and Hoola bronzer.  These are both perfect summer products.  I’m usually too fair for the bronzer, but I think it will work now that I have a tan.   The blush is really summery, too!

IMG-1240 Em Cosmetics Infinite Lip Cloud in French Nude.  I recently reviewed these.  I really like this shade.  I don’t wear matte lipsticks that much, so I though I would give this more use.

I’m excited for this August Shop My Stash!  I can hardly wait to get going on creating some new looks!

Revolution x The Emily Edit – The Wants Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hi all!  Happy Friday!  I am so ready for the weekend!

I decided to do a fun palette review today! This is the Revolution x The Emily Edit – The Wants Eyeshadow Palette.  It’s a larger palette with lots of fun colors!

It is in collaboration with Youtuber Emily Noel.  She does beauty videos and has an easy-going personality.

IMG-1157

I purchased this on sale at Ulta.  It is normally $20 USD, which is not bad, but it was on sale for $12!  I’ve had my eye on it for a while, so I scooped it up!

The packaging is sturdy plastic. Here’s the inside:

IMG-1165.JPG

It has 24 shades and a huge mirror!  This has a lot of cool and warm toned neutrals with a few pops of color. Here are the shades:

  • The Cream (white cream, matte finish)
  • Midwest (light tan, matte finish)
  • Oh Heavens! (beige cream, satin finish)
  • Cupcake (peach, satin finish)
  • Hobby (light brown, matte finish)
  • Dues Paid (red brick, matte finish)
  • LoveTons (plum, matte finish)
  • Laughcry (blood orange, matte finish)
  • Prayer (sepia brown, matte finish)
  • Eve Rose (light lilac with a gold shift, satin finish)
  • Pizzazz (maroon purple, shimmer finish)
  • Cheer (maroon, matte finish)
  • Grateful (lime green, shimmer finish)
  • Belle Violet (lavender, shimmer finish)
  • Family (deep purple, matte finish)
  • Heartbeat (chestnut, shimmer finish)
  • Good Vibes (rich copper, shimmer finish)
  • Capricorn (mocha brown, satin finish)
  • Top Story (gold, shimmer finish)
  • Corduroy (emerald green, matte finish)
  • Side Hustle (khaki green with a gold shift, shimmer finish)
  • Pi Phi (plum purple, matte finish)
  • Apartment (wood brown, matte finish)
  • Dark & Early (black, matte finish)

Here are close up photos of each side:

IMG-1166IMG-1167

I haven’t tried all of the shades, but I have tried some mattes and shimmers.

Swatches!

IMG-1168

This photo is a bit blurry but the rest are okay. ( I’ll reswatch it when I can and replace it).

The shades in the first row from left to right are The Cream, Hobby, Prayer, Grateful, Good Vibes, Side Hustle.

Hobby and Prayer are good transition shades and cream is nice all over the lid.  I haven’t tried the other shades yet.

IMG-1170

Second row from left to right — Midwest, Dues Paid, Eve Rose, Belle Violet, Capricorn and Pi Phi.

Midwest and Dues paid are great crease shades.  Eve Rose and Belle Violet are very sheer shimmers.  They are more like shadow toppers.  They are okay.

IMG-1171

Third row left to right — Oh Heavens!, Love Tons, Pizazz, Family, Top Story and Apartment.

I enjoy using Love Tons and Apartment to deepen an eye look.  Pizazz and Top Story are gorgeous lid shimmers.

IMG-1172

Fourth row left to right — Cupcake, Laughcry, Cheer, Heartbeat, Corduroy and Dark & Early.

Cupcake is another sheer lid shade.  It’s really pretty, though.  The rest of the shades on this row are nice to create more dramatic looks.

I’m still trying out this palette.  The first time I used it, the shadows only lasted two hours.  I just put it over concealer.  The other times I have worn it, I used an eyeshadow base and set it.  That works better and they last a few hours longer.  This isn’t a highly pigmented palette.  It’s nice, but not one for really dramatic or very long lasting looks.

For $12, it’s a pretty good deal, but I’m glad I didn’t pay $20 for it.  You can get Colourpop palettes for the same price or less and they have better pigmentation.

I will continue to play with this palette, and recommend it for those who like more natural looks or want to support Emily Noel.

Do you have this palette?  Are you a fan of Emily Noel?
