What I think: Both products are creamy, but light. I liked both of them, but the HydraWhip is perfect for my dry hair. It is a nice treatment to use a couple of times a week, while the LightCondition is perfect for every day. Both left my hair soft and not at all weighed down.

Looking for natural hair care? There are lots of different high-end formulas out there, but an affordable choice is Depth Hair Care ($9.99 USD each for shampoo and conditioner).

What I thought: I have been using the Drench Hydrating Shampoo and the Immerse Daily Conditioner for a couple of weeks. The shampoo is thick and lathers very richly. The conditioner is nice, but not quite thick enough for my dry hair. They both smell fantastic and leave hair clean and soft. I think they are a good buy for being organic and natural.

White Sands Velcro Strips and Texture Spray

Looking for an easy way to curl your straight hair? Try the easy combination of White Sands Liquid Texture Spray ($19.00 USD) and White Sands Velcro Strips ($40.00 for 6 large strips and 3 straight sticks) for a quick and curly set!

I have tried 3 different looks with the large strips. they are:

Volume at the crown — I spray the Liquid Texture at the roots, roll up a velcro strip into a curler, then place the hair at the roots over it. I either let it air dry or use a dryer. When it’s dry, I gently take the hair off of the rollers and my hair is lifted at the roots.

Soft Curls– I spray the hair, place the velcro side of the strips down the length of a piece of hair and roll up, securing with a bobby pin. Once dry I unroll the hair and I have soft, curly hair.

Waves — This is the coolest set, but takes the longest to achieve. You spray both side of the hair with the spray and lay it on the velcro side of a strip. Next, place a second strip, velcro side up, on top of the hair. You then take one of the straight pins and weave it through the holes in the strips, creating a wave. Once it dries, gently take out the pin and take of the velcro. The result is some cool waves in your hair!

The idea is that it will soak up oil and make your hair seem fresh, even when it hasn’t been washed for a day or two. Most dry shampoos have squirt on nozzles or spray. The Green Rooting Dry Shampoo has a brush that is built in the bottle that dispenses the product into your hair. The brush is very easy to use. it has open/close dial that allows you to control the amount of powder that is released.

The website describes the products as, “a hair powder that cleanses and refreshes the hair and scalp without the use of water. Talc and aluminum hydroxide absorb oil, dirt pollutants and product build-up. Rids the scalp of impurities and will create volume at the root. Another unusual feature is that is available in two shades: Light is recommended for blonde, white or gray hair and Dark for black, brown or red hair. I use the Dark for my dark brown hair and it blends in really well so you don’t notice that there’s powder in the hair.

Must Have Hair Product — Shu Uemura Art of Hair Essence Absolue

In November 2009, Shu Uemura launched — and quickly sold out of — a new hair product, Essence Absolue. This product is already so popular because it is touted to restore even the dries of hair.

So, what’s the big deal? This golden essence is infused with Camellia Oil; a highly treasured and coveted, age-old ingredient used by Geishas to make hair soft and shiny. Essence Absolue also claims to moisturize and protect the hair fiber, provides intense nutrition, protects against the sun’s UV rays, and adds shine to the hair.

The website states, “Conscious of the various causes and needs of dry hair, ESSENCE ABSOLUE has been carefully designed as a multi-use elixir, repairing dry hair on an individual basis in the following ways:
1- Intensely hydrating leave-in conditioner for very dry/damaged hair

I have used this as a pre-shampoo treatment by adding a few drops to my wet hair before shampoo. I also use it as a leave in and a finisher to my dry ends. I have noticed that my hair is shinier, more manageable and has less flyaways in the dry air. I am looking forward to trying this in the humid Kansas City summer — I think it will make all the difference on my frizzy hair!

Although this product is pricey, it does what it claims. My hair is soft and shiny and smells fantastic. I highly recommend Essence Absolue!

My hair is thin and dry and it can get very frizzy. My favorite product is the original Moroccanoil. After I wash my hair, I pour a little of it in my hands, rub my hands together, than smooth it on my hair. I also apply a little more on my dry hair, and my hair stays soft and shiny all day. I also want to try using it on my hair before coloring it. The oil is supposed to keep the hair shiny after coloring and the color may last longer. Cool!

I also loved the hydrating mask. I have to deep condition my hair a lot, to keep it soft and this one does the trick! The styling cream works wonders on my 10-year-old daughter’s thick, thick hair and the shine spray is fun for a little extra glimmer!

When she began using it, she didn’t even know it is supposed to clear breakouts — she just thought it was a great shampoo! She doesn’t usually break out, but I do (I know, unfair). I have noticed that I have been breaking out less since I have used this whole system.

I also love the Balancing Breakout-Controlling Conditioner ($28.00 USD) — The benefits to the conditioner are that it softens, detangles, smoothes and moisturizes while preventing acne and controlling breakouts. This is a nice, light conditioner that you can use every day. This also smells great and makes hair soft and smooth.

The Oil-Reducing Pore-Perfecting Treatment ($28.00 USD) can be used twice a week to eliminate greasy hair, keeps hair cleaner longer and helps with acne and breakouts. This is a great product that exfoliates my scalp and skin and helps control the oil. This is a special treatment that is used after shampoo and left on fir 3-5 minutes.
