BoxyCharm Premium Subscription Box Review — November 2019

IMG-1915

Hi all! I’ve just received my very first BoxyCharm Premium! This is a new subscription from BoxyCharm.  It’s a little more products than the regular and a little less than the BoxyLuxe.  Here’s the details:

  • It’s $35 a month
  • 6-7 beauty items a box
  • $175+ Value
  • You get to pick one of the items
  • The items will be different from BoxyCharm/BoxyLuxe – you can subscribe to both with no product overlap.

The products I received are:

IMG-1905

Natasha Denona Bloom Blush and Glow Palette – $55
Dragun Beauty Dragunfire Skin Perfecting Potion – $25
Becca Cosmetics Glow Gloss in Champagne Creme – $22
QMS Medicosmetics Intensive Eye Care Cream – $150
Kopari Beauty Coconut Rose Toner – $25
BoxyCharm 5 Piece Brush Set — $65

My total this month is $342!  That’s crazy for spending only $35!

Here’s another photo:

IMG-1906

I do think this feels like a luxury box.  Here’s some close ups of the products:

IMG-1908IMG-1909

I’ve been interested in this palette since it came out.  I love Natasha Denona products and thinks this looks so pretty, especially for the fall with my pale skin tone.  I haven’t swatched it yet, but I will do a separate review of this with swatches.

IMG-1910

These BoxyCharm brushes are really interesting.  They are very soft.  The oval shape of the larger brushes are not something I’ve tried before.  I think I’ll use those for foundation and cream products, like the blush in the palette.

IMG-1911

Here’s the skincare from the box.  These are some of my favorite products this month.

The eye cream is very expensive ($150!). But, I’m looking forward to trying it.  I think I’ll use it after I’m done with my current night eye cream.  It better make me look 10 years younger at least! LOL!

The Kopari toner smells amazing.  It’s supposed to make my pores look smaller, so I hope that’s true.  I’ll use it once my current rose toner spray is used up.

IMG-1907

These last two products are my least favorites in the box.  The Dragun Beauty corrector is so dark!  I’ve seen light skin gals use it, but it’s still a bit scary.  I’m going to give it a go, but I’m going to read up on how to use it.

The Becca gloss is in Champagne Creme.  It’s really pretty, especially for the fall and holidays.  But I have so many glosses that I need to use.  I think I’ll give this away to someone for Christmas.

————————————————————————————————————————–

I think this was a great first month for BoxyCharm Premium!  I will use almost every product in the box, which is pretty rare.  I’m looking forward to what next month brings!

Did you get BoxyCharm Premium this month?  What did you think?

I’ll be reviewing my regular November BoxyCharm soon, so we’ll see how it compares to Premium.

Urban Decay Stay Naked Foundation Review and More!

Hi all!  I have been testing out some new Urban Decay products that were sent for my honest review!

I love Urban Decay (I have also just purchased the Urban Decay Naked Honey palette and will be reviewing it next week).  Their products are innovative and cruelty free, and the ingredients are good for you! Here’s what I received:

IMG-1819

The main product I wanted to review is the Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation ($39 USD) — The claims for this foundation are:

This lineup of 50 shades with 9 shade intensities, 3 mastertones, and 7 undertones to dial in precise color match. The waterproof, longwear foundation feels like wearing nothing, thanks to a breathable, flexible formula that moves with you (all day and all night, up to 24 hours!). It not only feels better, it even looks better with its stay-true color, which minimizes the appearance of pores—so you always look like you.

My shade is 20CP, so it is light with a cool pink undertone.  It might be a little light for me, but I make it work with bronzer and blush.  I LOVE the finish of this foundation on me.  At 51 (yep), it’s important that I achieve a natural finish that doesn’t settle in wrinkles and pores.  This glides on my skin and makes me look flawless, but not like I’m wearing makeup. And it feels so light on (I hate greasy feeling foundation).  It’s so good and I’ve been wearing it everyday.  I need to start reviewing another foundation, but I only want to wear this.  LOL!

I also really love the The Ultimate Brush Off Translucent Loose Setting Powder ($36 USD)  — a finely-milled vegan powder that blends seamlessly to extend the wear of your foundation without adding any weight or texture (forget that old-school cakey feel). It sets makeup while absorbing oil and shine for a totally blurred-out effect, blending seamlessly without causing flashback, so you can take as many selfies as you want. Touch-ups on the go are easy thanks to the portable powder and its built-in, cruelty-free brush.

This powder is so good, it really is smooth and doesn’t cake at all.  I like using a sponge for my under eye area, but I do use this brush on the rest of my face.  It buffs in the powder and makes everything smooth and even.  I sometimes use a fluffier brush for a lighter application.  It’s lovely either way.

The last two items are lippies — Vice Lip Chemistry Lasting Glassy Tint in Pink Slip ($22 USD) and the Lip Plumper in Honey.

IMG-1820

On the left is the Lip Chemistry and on the right is the lip plumper.  Here’s more info about the lippies:

Vice Lip Chemistry is a vegan, high-gloss lip tint that reacts to your pH and creates a custom shade unique to your tone. Its lightweight, balm-like texture gives your lips a hit of hydration, so they feel moisturized. The lasting glassy tint adjusts to you; the color fully develops and reveals itself after just a few minutes and lasts up to 5 hours. Vice Lip Chemistry’s vegan formula goes on smooth and glossy (never sticky!) and does not transfer.

The vegan lip plumper gloss combines high shine with microfine, multidimensional glitter and a tantalizing scent. This formula has an almost-instant, refreshing tingly effect, creating fuller-looking lips minus that sticky feel. Caffeine, jojoba oil, and sunflower oil combine to give you smooth, intense shine with a cooling and plumping sensation.

My favorite of the two formulas is the lip plumper.  It’s a little tingly, but doesn’t hurt. It’s glittery, but will be nice for the holidays. It tastes like honey, too! The Lip Chemistry is cool.  It does change color and it feels really comfortable on.  I don’t think I will wear it everyday, but I’m having fun testing it out.

Purchase these at https://www.urbandecay.com/, Ulta, Sephora and other great beauty stores and websites.

Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol 1 Palette Review!

EF25E9FD-3979-4D0F-A7BD-EAA16829E7E6

Hi all!  I’m back with a palette review.  I was excited to pick up the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol 1 ($48 USD) when it launched.

I really enjoy Tati’s YouTube channel and was so happy to see when she launched this.

5D83DFAF-1586-4B45-A8EC-AEF8750505DDF4D9587F-38D6-4703-897E-80A6C9FAA857

So gorgeous!  This is such a pretty, everyday palette!  There are 6 tones and 4 textures.  You can make so many different looks!

Here are swatches by the tones:

IMG-1893

This is Memory and Ritual in the Glitter, Metallic, Sequin and Matte.  They all swatched really nicely.

IMG-1896.jpg

Story and Soothe in Glitter, Metallic, Sequin and Matte

IMG-1900

Aura and Poet in glitter, Metallic, Sequin and Matte.

I can see myself using the Ritual, Soothe and Aura shades the most.  But I will play with all of them.  I love the metallic texture and the mattes are beautiful and so easy to blend. I’m not the biggest glitter fan, but these are so pretty!

I really think Tati did an amazing job with this palette, especially for her first makeup launch.  The shades are universal and so nice for all different looks.  I’ve only used it a couple of times, but I really like it so far!

What do you think of the palette?  Did you pick it up?

Madam Glam’s Give Glam Collection

IMG-1815

Hi all!  Happy Monday!

Madam Glam has a gorgeous new collection that just launched for the Thanksgiving season.   The shades are a mix of warm, fall tones, and cooler ones, too.  There’s a lot to choose from:

IMG-1816

From Left to Right in the photo are:

Sweather Weather — Grape mauve

Sweet November — Soft pink

Maze — Dark green

Give Me Pie! — Bright orange

Feast Your Nails! — Deep Pink

IMG-1817

Haystack — Soft peachy-pink

Busy Avocado — Gray

Butter Up — Soft yellow

Corny — Brick Red

Harvest Party — Pecan brown

I have been enjoying using gel polish.  It’s a time and money saver to be able to do it myself!  And the Madam Glam polishes last on my nails and don’t chip!

What do you think of these shades?  Do you enjoy gel nails?

Shop My Stash — November 2019

IMG-1857.jpg

Hi all!  It’s  time for my November Shop My Stash! I’m looking forward to the holidays.

I’m always excited to play with new (again to me) color cosmetics that I either haven’t used in a while or haven’t used much at all! My goal is to get more use out of the products I have and to see if they are something I want to keep.

This month I have chosen products that I have barely used, if at all.  I really don’t know if I like them. I’ve decided that I really need to go through my collection.  I’m going to declutter in January, but I need to figure out if I want to keep some products or pass them on.

Here are the palettes open:

IMG-1858

So pretty! I’m excited to really test these products out!

IMG-1849IMG-1850This is the Tarte Clay Play Eye & Cheek Palette Vol. II.  I received this in my September BoxyLuxe.   It looks like there’s a couple of versions of this palette.  Mine has eye shadows and contour, the one on the tarte website has the exact same shade names, but the bottom row is a bronzer, blush and highlight.

I think this will be perfect for matte eyeshadow looks and I’m looking forward to trying out the contours. It also smells like cocoa.  Yum!

IMG-1851IMG-1852

It Cosmetics Superhero Eye Transforming Anti-Aging Super Palette– I love IT Cosmetics, but I haven’t really played with their eye shadows a lot.  These are so pretty.  The shades are nice for everyday wear.

I was only going to have one eye shadow palettes in my Shop My Stash this month, because I have purchased a few new palettes, and I know I’m going to want to use those when I get them.  But, since the tarte one is all mattes, I thought I should use one with shimmers and color.

IMG-1853IMG-1854

Huda Beauty 3D Highlighter Palette in Pink Sand — I received it in my July Ipsy Glam Bag Plus. I keep forgetting about it.  So, I thought I would really give it some use and see how I like it.

img-1855.jpg

And finally, I have a couple of lip products.  The top on is the Becca Champagne Cocktail Lipgloss.  I received this in a Becca set I purchased on QVC in February. It’s a really pretty berry shade, which will be perfect for this time of year.

I purchased the Profusion lip liner in a kit with a matte liquid lipstick and shimmery gloss.  I didn’t care for those, but I did keep the lip liner because I love the shade.  It’s called Imagine. It’s a nice pinky nude.

Here are swatches:

IMG-1856

Sorry this is blurry.  I do really like these shades, and I’m looking forward to using them!

————————————————————————————————————————————

I am going to be using these as much as possible this month.  I’ll let you know how it goes at the end of the month.

Do you do a Shop Your Stash?

Shop My Stash October 2019 Results and Monthly Empties

Hi All!  I’m back with my October Shop My Stash results!  I enjoy dipping into my collection and using products I haven’t used in a long time, or just haven’t given much of a chance.

My rule with this is if I don’t like the item after the month, I will move it out of my collection to make some room and let someone else enjoy it! You can check out my first Shop My Stash post for October.

IMG_1602

Unfortunately, I was sick for the last two weeks or so, so I didn’t wear makeup all month,

My most used products were the eyeshadow palettes and the essence highlighter. I used each palette a few times, the same with the highlighter.

The essence highlighter is so gorgeous! It can be worn sheer for a soft glow or built up to really shine!

I already let go of the Laura Geller blush.  It was too dark for my skin tone, and it’s too old. And I have to say that I’m not really a fan of the Colourpop lipsticks, especially the Blur formula.  It is pretty drying on my lips and the Creme formula isn’t much better.

Here’s photos with the eye shadow palettes open:

IMG-1843

I really do love this Natasha Denona palette.  I created a pretty pumpkin spice look with the orange and yellow shades a few times and also really love the red and purple shades.  I am definitely keeping this beauty!

IMG-1845  I love this Huda Beauty Smoky Obsessions palette, too! I create really pretty everyday looks with the brown mattes and the lighter shimmers.  And the black and silver made a fun Halloween smoky eye!  I love the quality of these shades and will be keeping it!

I think this is the first month this year that I’m getting rid of more than one item! I guess that’s good because my collection has really grown this year!

Now on to my empties:

IMG-1842

As usual, my empties are mostly skincare, but  I do have two makeup items.  I’ve had my Tarte Shape Tape for over a year, and it’s finally empty. I might purchase it again in the future.  It’s a nice concealer, but I have a few I’m using now and probably won’t need to purchase a new concealer well into next year!  The Flower Beauty Seal the Deal matte spray is okay, but smells like perfume, so I won’t purchase it again.

I used up two cleansers. Skin & Co Whipped Cleansing Cream and Dr. Brandt Yogurt Cleanser.  The Skin & Co cleanser is amazing at removing makeup and it so hydrating.  I would purchase it again.  The Dr. Brandt one was okay.  I got it in a BoxyCharm.  It’s expensive so I wouldn’t purchase again.

For the rest of the skin care, The Skin & Co Truffle Toner is amazing — so cleansing and hydrating.  I would purchase again (and if you want to purchase from https://skinandcoroma.com/ and use code LORENA20, you’ll get 20% off your order!).

The StriVectin Neck Cream is lovely and so is the Mamonde eye cream!

October was quite a month.  Since I was sick for over half of the month, I’m glad it’s over and I’m looking forward to November.  Bring it on!

October 2019 Beauty Favorites

Hi all, Happy Halloween! Can you believe the first of November is tomorrow?  The year is almost over!

Below are my beauty faves for October. As usual, If I have reviewed them before, I will include the link, if not, I will link to where you can purchase:

IMG-1826

I was loving a fun mix of makeup and skincare this month!

IMG-1832img-1833-scaled-2560-e1572549615349-scaled-2560.jpg

This is the NARS Makeup Your Mind Eye & Cheek Palette.  I reviewed it here.

I use this every day for my bronzer and blush.  I love the blendability and shades. I haven’t used the eye shadows as much because I have so many new palettes I’m trying out. They are very pretty, though!

IMG-1829

I have really been enjoying the essence Pure Nude Highlighter again.  I haven’t used it in a while, and I brought it out for my October Shop My Stash.  It can be subtle on, or built up to really shine! And it’s affordable, too.

IMG-1827 Revlon PhotoReady Candid Antioxidant Concealer in 015 Light is so nice!  I haven’t reviewed it yet because I’ve just started using it month.  I purchased it a few months ago, but the shade was too light for me in the summer. It’s very easy to blend and covers really well.  This really makes me want to purchase more Revlon makeup products!

I got the Kopari Lip Glossy in the Fall Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale, and it’s already almost gone!  It’s so smooth and hydrating.  I like to use it in the day and evening.  Definitely one I would repurchase again.

I wear my Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara over my Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer and my lashes look very long and don’t smudge!   The Thrive mascara is my favorite mascara discovery this year.  It’s so amazing!

IMG-1830.jpg

One of the skincare products this month I’ve been enjoying is the Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream.  I purchased this in the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale.  I use it as my day eye cream.  It instantly reduces dark circles.  It does have a bit of an orange tint to it, and maybe that’s why my eyes look so refreshed when I use it.

I am almost out of the Purlisse Blus Lotus Daily Moisturizer.  I got it in my August Ipsy Glam Bag Plus.  I’ve been using it every morning and really like how hydrating it is.  Plus, it has SPF 30!

I was sent Primera products for review, and have been using the Miracle Seed Essence after cleansing and toning.  It is a light hydrator and preps the skin for serum and other moisturizers.

That’s it for my October favorites.  Bring on November!  What have you been loving lately?

Anastasia Beverly Hills x Carli Bybel Palette Review

IMG-1798.jpg

Hi all!  I hope everyone had a great Monday!  I’m here with a review of the new Anastasia Beverly Hills x Carli Bybel palette ($45 USD).  I picked this up in my recent Ulta points haul.  I saved up my Ulta points and raked in some free makeup — it was amazing!

I thought this palette looked so pretty, so I picked it up!

Here’s the palette open:

IMG-1799

Isn’t it pretty!  Such a lovely, feminine color story. I think these colors are soft, but with all of the metallics, you can make a really bold look.

The shades are:

IMG-1800

  • Boli (metallic champagne)
  • Bybel (matte reddish-purple brown)
  • Mandala (metallic/duo chrome light purple)
  • Libra (metallic goldish)
  • Jode (shimmer teal)
  • OA (duo chrome blue + purple)
  • Boie (matte ash brown)
  • Bear (Matte beige)
  • Moo (metallic light gold)
  • Chai (matte light brown)
  • *Cindy (matte bright orange pressed pigment)*
  • Stev (matte dark red)
  • Aura (metallic red pink shimmer)
  • My Angels (metallic gold)

Swatches:

IMG-1804

From left to right — Boli, Bybel, Mandala, Libra, Jode, OA and Boie.

Bali and Mandala are very sheer and glittery.  The are nice eyeshadow toppers, but I wish they weren’t so glittery, because there is so much fallout.  And another issue I have is that Jode and OA are so similar, I don’t know why Carli chose to do that.  It’s hard to tell in the photo, But Jode is more gray-blue and OA has more purple in it and a bunch of glitter –but  I don’t think you need both.

From this row, I do really like the mattes and the shade Libra.

IMG-1807

From left to right — Bear, Moo, Chai, Cindy, Stev, Aura and My Angels.

I am a fan of all of these shades.  The metallics are all gorgeous!  I’ve worn all three and love them.  And the mattes blend very well and are so pretty.

I am glad I have this palette.  The shades are good quality and look very nice on the eyes. And they are fun, but still neutral enough for every day wear.

Did you pick up this palette?  What do you think?

Brand Review — Cloud 10 CBD-Infused Hair Care

Hi all! I hope you are having a great weekend! I have ear infections so I am staying home and resting this weekend.

I have recently been sent nourishing products from Cloud 10 CBD-Infused Hair Care for my honest review.

Cloud 10’s innovative CBD-Infused Hair Care line is rich in CBD thanks to Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract, also known as Broad Spectrum Hemp Oil, from organically grown hemp that provides nourishing Cannabinoids, Protein, Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids and essential nutrients that work in synergy to enhance hair and scalp health.

Plant-based PhytoKeratin Plus promotes the hair’s strength, body and elasticity and is made from hemp and rice through a patented extraction process. The powerful, first-of-its-kind combination of Organic CBD and PhytoKeratin Plus within the Cloud 10 line delivers nutrient-rich formulas that help to revitalize hair, soothe and tone the scalp, while providing better manageability, moisture and super shine.

Here are the products I received:

IMG-1677

  • Cloud 10 CBD-Infused Shampoo ($27 for 8.4 oz) revitalizes hair by combining hydrolyzed proteins and plant extracts to provide volume, shine and softness, especially for chemically and physically damaged hair.
  • Cloud 10 CBD-Infused Conditioner ($27 for 8.4 oz) with the nourishing, protective and moisturizing properties of Shea Butter, Avocado Oil and Baobab to revitalize, fight frizz and detangle hair.
  • Cloud 10 CBD-Infused Leave-in Scalp Toner ($31 for 5 oz) strengthens hair, soothes and hydrates the scalp, and helps protect hair and skin from damaging free radicals.
  • Cloud 10 CBD-Infused All-in-One Hair Lotion ($30 for 5 oz) is a leave-in formula that protects hair from heat styling while helping to detangle, nourish, and reduce frizz, leaving hair feeling smooth, silky, revitalized, and more manageable.
  • Cloud 10 CBD-Infused Glossing Mist ($29 for 5 oz) is an ultra-hydrating, lightweight conditioning mist formulated to provide a gloss finish while leaving hair feeling soft and silky.

Each formula is delicately scented with a hint of jasmine, and  all are sulfate free, paraben free, cruelty free, and safe for color-treated hair.

I have used all 5 products.  First of all the scent is amazing!  It’s a soft, exotic floral and it leaves a light fragrance in my hair.  I feel that these products work so well with my color treated hair.  They don’t fade my color at all.

The shampoo is light and cleansing, but doesn’t strip my hair.  I do get lots of volume from it.  The conditioner is very creamy — a little goes a long way.  I love how hydrating it is.

My favorite product is the Leave-in Scalp Toner.  When the air gets dryer in the fall and winter, my scalp gets itchy. This instantly soothes my itchy scalp. And the more times I’ve used it, the better my scalp feels.  Amazing!  Plus, I love how it protects hair and the skin on my scalp from free radicals.

After the scalp treatment, I use the Hair Lotion while my hair is still damp and concentrated towards the ends of my hair.  I use the Glossing Spray when my hair is dry as a finishing spray.  Both hydrate and tame my frizzies!

I am so happy I got to try these Cloud 10 CBD-Infused Hair Care products!  I feel I’ve discovered a brand that is so good for my hair!

These products can be purchased here.

Ulta Fall Haul Mini Haul!

Hi All!  I shopped the Ulta Fall Haul sale a couple of weeks ago.  I usually go crazy on these, but I was extremely restrained this fall!  I did do a large Ulta Fall 21 Days Of Beauty Haul — so I need to not go crazy on this sale!

Ulta has these haul sales twice a year — a Spring Haul and a Fall Haul.  They follow the 21 Days of Beauty and focus on the drugstore or affordable half of the store.  I usually love to stock up on my favorites and try new things!

Here’s what I got this fall:

IMG-1758.jpg

Yes to Cucumbers Facial Wipes — I got this half off. I love these wipes.  They are really nice for those with sensitive skin.

Skinfood Peach Sake Toner – I needed a new toner, and this one was 30% off.  This smells amazing!  Just like peaches and sake. This is a refreshing toner made with rice sake and peach extracts, rich in vitamins A and C, which minimize shine and the appearance of pores. The bottle is gorgeous frosted glass!

Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer — I’ve heard such great things about this foundation.  I have tried it and like it.  I chose a shade called Nude, which is a bit warm for me.  But I mix it with a cooler foundation and it seems to work.  I like the natural finish it gives!

The Body Shop Limited Edition Vanilla Pumpkin Body Butter — This luxe body butter is in special edition seasonal packaging inspired by the traditions of Central and South America’s Dia de los Muertos. The indulgently rich formula provides 24hr moisture, infused with Madagascan vanilla and the aroma of roasted pumpkins. This smells amazing! This was half off!

I’m really happy with my purchases.  Did you pick up anything from the sale?

Right now until October 26th, Ulta has a 20% off everything coupon.  So of course, I used my points that I’ve saved up.  That haul is coming Monday and I will show you what I got!  I will be doing separate reviews of some of the products I got as well, so stay tuned!
