Halloween is tomorrow — crazy! This year is zooming by. I’m not doing much for the holiday, probably just watch scary movies. My kids are too old to hang with me, even my 13 year old wants to go out with her friends!

What I think: I received the Screw it Curl, Get Twisted and On the Rebound Curl Recall for my honest review. The packaging on all of these are amazing as always! Bed Head by TIGI has some of the cutest hair care packaging around! And they all have fresh, fruity scents which are really fun, too!

The Screw It Curl gel is a light gel that I use on the middle to the ends of my damp hair. A little goes a long way. It leaves my waves shiny and soft. This is nice for a soft, tousled look.

The Get Twisted spray is a perfect final step, it keeps my waves bouncy all day. I like how it isn’t stiff or sticky either.

Ont the Rebound is sticky. I think that’s because you can use it to help form hair into waves or curls. It dries nicely, I just make sure I wash my hands after use. This and the spray really set my hair for all day styles.

GlossyBox Review — September 2017

The Manna Kadar Glo, the Morgan Taylor polish and the Freeman mask were all full sized. The rest were samples. On with the review!

These were products I hadn’t tried before. For the serum sample, you push the blue product and it flows into the clear, and you shake it up and open. I only needed a little, so this sample will last a while! It it very watery and absorbed right away. I haven’t seen a difference in my skin yet, but I will keep using it.

The sunscreen is really nice, it has a soft scent, and is creamy, not heavy or greasy.

This is a full sized illuminator, the Manna Kadar Glow. I haven’t tried it yet, because I think I might give it away for Christmas. I don’t use cream highlighters. It is supposed to give a youthful glow and dewy finish, and you can mix it with foundation or moisturizer. Actually, it might be nice mixed with a primer. Hmm. I might try it after all!

The shade of Morgan Taylor polish I received is Magician’s Assistant. Its a pinky/greige/lavender cream. This is so pretty! I’ll definitely be wearing this. I love light colors and nudes.

Pureology is a great brand. It uses natural ingredients effectively. The shampoo is supposed to gently cleanses fine, colour-treated hair without stripping colour. Provides light, airy fullness with lifted root that lasts all day.

I won’t use these now. I will keep them for a trip or to give away to someone who needs travel sizes.

This mask is full sized, and a drugstore product. I haven’t tried it yet, but it smells nice. I don’t use a lot of masks, I’m more of a scrub girl, so this might go in my giveaway pile.

This box was okay, better than the last two I received. I will use the nail polish and the Lancome products. The rest I’ll probably give away.

My Beauty Favorites — Week of September 4-10, 2017

I’ve spent a lot of this week worrying about other parts of our great country. Especially Texas and Florida. I am thinking of all those affected by those horrible storms.

I’m also sad about the fires in Oregon. I’m originally from Oregon and I drive through the beautiful Columbia River Gorge on the way to see my mother every year. I was just there in June. Next year, unfortunately it will look so much different.

Even through all the sad things the weather has been bringing, I have been test new products to help the transition to Fall (which can’t come soon enough)!

It’s almost Fall! Yay! Time to get a new ‘do. At least that’s what I like to do, change up my look for the new season. If I don’t want or need a new haircut, I like to change up the styling of my hair.

This is also great for the college student who doesn’t have a lot of room, or for travels.

It does have a strong lemon/lime soda scent. It’s not my favorite, but it’s not offensive. I do love the natural ingredients in it.

My daughters love to play with bright color in their hair. I always want to try it, but I need temporary ways to do it!

A couple of cool ideas are colored hair chalk and colored extensions. I was sent the follow products for my honest review, and they are really fun!

Splat Hair Chalk (approx. $5.99 USD)– the easiest way to add pastel color to your hair. The chalk slides on dry and instantly adds just the right touch of color. What I think: I’ve tried colored sprays and liquids before, but this is the first time I have tried hair chalk. I have dark brown hair and luckily this worked for me. I applied the color above, sugar plum, with the chalk and the enclosed sponge on my thumb and ran the color through my hair. I applied it to the ends of my hair and really like the effect! There are a bunch of colors to choose from, too.

I don’t know about you, but I love to use styling products to bring the best out of my hairstyle and to keep my hair shiny and frizz-free!

There are amazing drugstore and higher end products that style hair beautifully. So many to try and to love! I was sent the below products for my honest review:

It leaves my hair so soft! The hairspray is great too, because it helps to keep the frizzies away! I do need more than one product to totally keep my hair soft and smooth, but this does help and holds my style.

I really love the serum, though. My hair is fine, so I just use a little bit on wet hair. When it dries, my hair is soft and shiny. As my hair ages, it’s hard to get manageable, youthful hair, but this really helps. It smells nice, too.

This week, I am loving products to help give me a summer glow. These include an illuminating primer, a sheer lipstick, a matte, loose eyes hadow and luxe hair styling products:

What I think: This is a gorgeous primer for the summer. I have it in Dusk, which is a bronzey primer and it also comes in Dawn, a pearly primer. Dusk is so pretty. I use it to prime my skin and it also gives it a glow underneath my makeup. My makeup also lasts long when I use it.

essence Sheer & Shine Lipstick ($1.49 USD) — For smudge-proof and defined lips, this creamy yet sheer formula goes on like a balm and deposits buildable color with fantastic shine.

What I think: This insanely inexpensive lipstick a very moisturizing. It is very sheer and balm-like, but does give a light color. It is perfect for the no-makeup look.

What I think: Both of these are amazing, one is for thick and one for thin hair. They are used before blow drying to make hair soft and manageable. I use the thin hair one, and it gives my hair volume and bounce.
