Product Round-Up — My Fave Beauty Things Week of July 7th

Hi all! I posted this last week and think I am going to make it a regular feature! I try so many new products each week, I think it’s nice to highlight my favorites.

This week, I have been loving a new drugstore mascara, an acne treatment, new sunglasses (needed), kajal eyeliners (hot trend), a luxe face oil and a sheer red lip. What have you been loving this week?

L’Oreal Mega Volume Miss Manga Mascara ($7.99 USD) — L’Oreal Paris introduces new Voluminous Miss Manga mascara featuring the 360 flexor brush to build bold volume with high intensity from top to bottom. For the first time, L’Oreal Paris creates a flexible brush with a unique conical shape to catch those hard to reach lashes with an incredibly even application. The Mega Impact Formula instantly builds oversized volume for 15X lash volume in a flash. Top lashes are amplified and bottom lashes maximized for the ultimate wide-eyed Manga Look.

What I think: I love trying new mascaras — and the mascara wand on this is different than any other I have used. Not only is it conical-shaped, it moves to the side when you use it. It took a couple of times, but if I apply it carefully, I get super long and voluminous lashes! It isn’t waterproof and has been running a bit in the Kansas City humidity, so I can’t wear it daily, but is perfect for special occasions.

Apothederm Acne Clarifying Treatment ($32.50 USD) — This two-in-one problem solver helps to eliminate breakouts and minimize pore size. What I think: My skin is pretty clear right now, so I gave this to my 18 year-old daughter who has broken out this summer. She has been using it morning and night after cleansing, and her skin is so much clearer after only a week of use! She will continue to use it and I know she will continue to see results. ICU Eyewear Blue Modern Cat Eye Metallic Temple Sunglasses ($21.95 USD) — These sunglasses are true beauties because the oversized frame give you more coverage and better protection from the sun. There’s a couple more reasons why these sunnies will make you bat your eyelashes; they are polarized which minimize squinting in bright sun conditions and they are 100% UV A and B protective so they’ve got your back and will protect the soft tissue around your eyes from being exposed to harmful rays.

What I think: Loving these cool sunnies! From the front, they look like classic black cat eye sunglasses, but when I turn to the side, the blue metallic gives the frames an extra kick of style! They also really block the sun well. LOVE!

Physician’s Formula Kajal Eyeliner Trio Nude Eyes in Natural ($11.99 USD) — Custom Eye enhancing kohl kajal eyeliner trio by Physicians Formula; ultra dramatic definition, 100 percent waterproof wear. Includes a black, brown and nude liner.

What I think: I am really digging the Kajal trend! These liners are so easy to use. The handle make for easy maneuvering and the liners glide on easily and are very pigment. The nude is great on the waterline and the black is so rich and gorgeous!

Vichy Neovadiol Elixir ($55 USD) — Precious Replenishing Oil Concentrate contains a unique blend of omega-rich oils to help restore essential lipids lost due to hormonal aging. Immediately nourishes the skin with moisture. Leaves skin visibly plumped, smooth and radiant.

What I think: I have been using this oil at night before I apply my face cream. In the morning, my face is so smooth and soft! Keeps me looking young in my mid-forties.

Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip Colour in Sexy ($25 USD) — The light-as-air formula feels completely weightless on lips. The secret is a unique wax-free base that allows pigments to deliver true custom colour impact. Available in 15 colour-true shades and three unique finishes. Shade names begin with the same letter as their finish, so they are easy to remember (Moi is Matte and Shy is Sheer). Sheer for naturally stained lips. Matte for velvety lips. What I think: I don’t usually wear red lip color, but this is very sheer and is pretty for going out in the summer time. It looks especially nice on me since I am no longer ghostly white! It also very moisturizing on my lips and doesn’t dry them out at all.

Product Round-Up — My Favorite Beauty Things This Week!

I have been trying so many great beauty items this week. From nail care to skincare to a fab concealer, these summer products have really helped my beauty routine in the heat.

Are you picking up one of these fabulous sets? I was sent one for my honest review. I have tried most of these products and love them — especially Bye Bye Undereye concealer, and now it’s waterproof! You all know I need that in humid Kansas City! The brush is the perfect applicator for that and the powder Celebration Foundation, which is so light for the summer. Brow Power is so easy to define my brows. And the new palette — love it! The shades are so pretty and the brightening finishing powder really corrects the color in my skin.

Face Stockholm Summer 2014 — Like the dark steel gray of an impending thunderstorm on a hot summer day, our look for summer is stormy and mysterious with a strong emphasis on the vivid Matte Orange lip. From the FACE Stockholm website, here is how to achieve the look:

For a clean and hydrated look for summer, start with FACE Stockholm BB Natural Beauty Balm ($38 USD). This can be applied with clean fingertips or a makeup brush (try FACE Stockholm Foundation Brush #34) for a flawless finish. For a more matte look, lightly dust with FACE Stockholm Loose Powder ($26 USD).

Using FACE Stockholm Chisel Contour Brush #5, apply FACE Stockholm Blush ($20 USD) in Sun-Kissed from the apples of the cheek to the temples.

Get Your Beauty Routine Ready For Summer, Part 1

I have been so lucky to receive lots of awesome skincare, hair care and makeup samples lately from so many different, fab brands to review for my honest opinion. So exciting!

The one common thread in these products is that they are a good change-up to my routine. Winter was so long this year, and spring very short that my makeup products haven’t changed much. But now that it is HOT in Kansas City (90 and humid) — I am ready to give easy, breezy summer beauty a go, while still looking and feeling put together.

For the rest of this week, I will review the products that I have been using and let you know why I love them so much. This post will include lovely skin care from Orico London, Stri-Vectin and summer-loving makeup from Gerard Cosmetics, Skindinavia and BeautyADDICTS.

What I think: I’ve been using this serum for about a week and am really enjoying it. The serum is a pearly-pinkish opal color, very iridescent and cool. I’ve never seen a serum like it. When it is applied, it is very sheer and gives skin a faint radiance. Since it is so light, it is perfect for the summer as it can be easily layered under moisturizer and SPF.

What I think: This is a really pretty cream. I tried it on my cheekbones and my brow bone like a normal highlighter, and I liked it, but it was a bit sparkly for me to use all over my face. My 18 year-old daughter wore it all over hers and looked like a golden beach babe — oh, youth! So I gave it to her and she loves it! And I love that it has skincare benefits!

It’s just about summertime! Today it was over 80 degrees in Kansas City. Which is awesome and has me thinking of easy, bright looks for the season.

I was sent the following products for my honest review. I have found some great summer makeup and I hope you will get ideas from these awesome picks!

What I think: This is a perfect spring and summer shade. It is a bright, flattering shade and I like the matte finish. I like it best on cheeks. It is a little dry for my lips, but looks pretty with a sheer lip gloss over it.

What I think: I love this mascara for a natural day look. It separates so well that it never clumps. More coats creates more volume.
