My Beauty Favorites — Week of May 29-June 4, 2017

I hope your weekend was awesome! I’ve been busy, so my favorites post is a little late, but I am featuring a bit of gorgeous summer makeup.

This week, I have been loving a gorgeous eyeliner wardrobe and color and hydration for lips. These products are perfect as we start a hot summer:

What I think: This is a gorgeous little set of pencils! The formula is really pigmented and glides along the eye lid. The colors are neutral and work well for any occasion. I love brown eyeliner, and the chocolate and the bronze are my go tos. The white and the silver are amazing accent colors and I use the black for going out. This is an affordable way to get an eyeliner wardrobe.

Memorial Day Beauty Must Haves!

It’s crazy to think that it’s almost summer! My kids got out of school this week and it’s now time to celebrate with a nice long holiday weekend!

My Beauty Favorites — Week of May 15-21, 2017

It’s been a stormy week in Kansas City, but it’s sunny today! That makes me think of summer and gorgeous summer makeup!

It works well under makeup or on it’s own for a natural look.

My kids gave me an Ulta gift card as a part of my Mother’s Day gifts this year. I don’t usually shop a lot for makeup since I receive a lot of fun products to review.

I was excited to grab some things I needed — and I got a fun free gift, too!

The items that I purchased was the Real Techniques 203 Tapered Shadow brush, The Ulta Beauty Matte Eye Primer and the Ulta Beauty Juice Infused Lip Oil in Green Tea + Avacado.

I’ve been playing with the palette and really like it. There are lots of fun eyeshadows. I find the mattes more pigmented than the glitters or shimmers, but they can be layered on for a deeper color. The highlighter, blushes and bronzer are highly pigmented and are very pretty on my fair skin. I like the blush brush that comes with it. The lip colors are bright. I like to wear softer lip colors, but they are nice. I am going to take this with me on my summer trip for my eyeshadows and face color. It will come in very handy.

Real Techniques Bold Metals 203 Tapered Shadow Brush ($12.99 USD) is densely packed and precision cut for blending shadow into the crease and eyelid for a seamless finish.

I lost my all over eyes hadow brush, so I needed a replacement. This picks up the pigment well and blends okay. I think it will work for now. The handle is nice and has a good weight to it.

Ulta Beauty Juice Infused Lip Oil in Green Tea + Avocado ($9 USD) — Ulta’s Juice Infused Lip Oil is a luxurious lip oil infused with a combination of natural ingredients that nourish and smooth your lips. Each of the shades offer separate ingredient benefits providing a combination of lip mending properties. The Juice Infused Lip Oils do not have any color once applied; they apply clear.

I like this very much. It has a fresh flavor and is very hydrating on. I wear lots of lip balms and oils and this is a good one! I’ll probably try some of the other flavors later.

Ulta Nude Matte Eye Primer ($12 USD) — Ulta’s Eye Primer is a must have product for a crease fee look that lasts all day! Use this exclusive eye primer under eyeshadow to prolong wear and eliminate creasing. Can be used with virtually any eyeshadow formula – powder, gel, mousse, loose pigment, you name it!

My Beauty Favorites — Week of May 7-14, 2017

Happy Mother’s Day! That is a photo of my Mother’s Day breakfast! I’m so lucky to have such amazing daughters!

It colors and tames my crazy brows. The lipstick also has great pigment and feels very light on my lips. It’s has a satin texture.

And speaking of lighter colors, the magnolia-licious shade in the lipstick set is my favorite! I wear it for daytime, it’s so soft and goes with everything!

I love wearing golds and bronzes in the summer with pops of color! The mascara gifts my tiny lashes volume and length and doesn’t flake into my sensitive eyes. And I LOVE the matte lipsticks. They are so hydrating and wear really well on. Plus, there’s a shade for all skin tones.

What I think: I have tried all of these, except for the new Bye Bye Pores Illumination before this deal. I have tried it now and really like it! It gives my skin a glow. I don’t use it all over, because it is like a highlighter on, but I brush it in my cheeks and nose to set my makeup an give a nice glow!

The concealer is my holy grail and I use it often. The primer is light and sinks right in the skin. It leaves my skin glowing! I can’t use the cleanser because it irritates my eyes, but my daughter loves it. It melts makeup off so well!

And the brush is so soft and blends nicely! IT Cosmetics’ brush are always amazing!

My Beauty Favorites — Week of April 24-30, 2017

We have had a rainy weekend in Kansas City, and it has been nice to relax inside! I have been enjoying some of the new beauty products I have been sent for my honest review!

My favorites this week include an iridescent highlighter, a new way to apply my makeup, an firming eye cream, a sea salt spray that makes my hair thicker

Hard Candy Iridescent Pearl Highlighter ($6 USD) is a pearl illuminator that leaves skin with a wearable but trendy iridescent shimmer. This powder includes light-reflective pearls that diffuse light. The universal shade is flattering on all skin tones and smoothly applies to your skin with easy soft, sweeping motions. The result is a trendy but wearable prismatic illumination that catches light and turns heads. Great lighting will follow you around everywhere you go and you will always be photo-ready with this beautifully unique iridescent highlighting powder.

What I think: I have been wanting to try this trend, and this is an affordable (and gorgeous) way to do it. I apply the powder anywhere I want to glow, including the cheekbones, tip of the nose, collarbones, and under the arch of my brows. It’s so pretty on. I use a little, but layer it and you get a great evening out look!

What I think: This is such an interesting way to apply makeup! It only takes a little bit of product, although when I use it, I find I need to do one area of my face at a time, because it doesn’t spread too well. What I think: First of all, this smells amazing! I spritz it in damp hair and it thickens and gives my hair great waves. I just use a little, and it looks like I’ve been at the beach (lies since I live in the Midwest). This will be a mainstay this summer.

My Beauty Favorites — Week of April 17-23, 2017

It was a beautiful Sunday yesterday! It was warm in Kansas City and I got out to enjoy my daughter’s (and my husband the coach’s) lacrosse game. They won!

My favorite beauty products this week include amazing fragrances, a handy daily exfoliator, a gorgeous lip duo and volumizing dry shampoo:

Molton Brown and Orange & Bergamot ($65 USD) — Our original scent in a fresh, citrusy eau de toilette, blended with bergamot, mandarin and Seville oranges:
Top notes: orange oil, bergamot, lemon and mandarin.
Heart notes: petitgrain, cardamom and galbanum.

What I think: These are all such complex, luxe fragrances. My fave is the Orange & Bergamot because I love fresh, light scents. The Fiery Pink Pepper is bright and sultry and the Ouhd Accord & Gold is deep and dramatic.
