Brand Review — PUR Cosmetics

PUR Cosmetics is a great brand that includes good-for-your-skin ingredients that not only help cover skin imperfections but also help correct its overall appearance. Plus, their products are very on-trend and gorgeous!

I was sent some amazing products for my honest review. Here’s what I think:

Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette ($34 USD) Creating a flawless eye look is super simple if you have the perfect mix of neutral, copper and bronze shades handy. Now you can turn everyday and night into a soiree with this super versatile 12-piece eye shadow collection. Filled with highly pigmented and silky smooth shadows, the four versatile matte shades, four satin shades and four shimmers work flawlessly together for all skin tones. Super blendable and anything but basic, this essential palette takes the guesswork out of your eye look. Just use the colors in the vertical rows from top to bottom for highlight, definition and drama.

What I think: These colors are very pigmented and pretty, for a neutral eye look. I like the different finishes and looks that I can create. Currently, I have a lot of natural palettes and am loving a bit more color, but this is great for every day looks!

Contour Diaries Contour Palette ($32 USD) — you too can sculpt and define your makeup story. Featuring three super creamy and blendable shades for contouring and three luminious shades for highlighting, this 6-piece contour and highlight palette makes it easy to accentuate like a pro. The lighter shades are used to draw soft, “lit from within” attention to the high points of the face and help brighten the dark shadows that may lurk under the eyes. The darker shades create faux shadows that chisel your cheekbones or slenderize other facial features. These buildable powders are mixable and customizable to create the right highlight and dimension for every skin tone. Get truly envious features instantly.

What I think: This is a great contouring palette. The shades blend so well for contouring. I have fair skin, so I would liked it if the lighter shades were a bit lighter, but the darker shades work nicely on my skin!

Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick ($18 USD) — Dump those dry matte lipsticks. Velvet Matte Liquid Lipsticks provide sumptuous lip color in an innovative mousse texture that glides on with ease and coats lips in a rich and conditioning burst of color in a true matte finish. Designed with color perfecting technology, the formula does not flake or dry lips and provides a smooth and flawless finish. Soft, kissable lips and bold colour – it’s everything you want in a matte.

What I think: These come is a great range of pretty shades. They last a long time and are very nicely pigmented. Like a lot of liquid matte lippies, they are a bit drying on, but they stay put all day!

No Filter Blurring Photography Primer ($33 USD) — Moisturize, color balance, prime and illuminate the skin in one step. This unique primer with prismatic blurring micro-pearls helps to color correct while age-defying skin care ingredients nourishes the skin and a vitamin-rich Energy Complex with moisturizing agave and essential fatty acids prep the skin for makeup application. Loaded with essential oils like Coconut, Olive, and Shea a drop of this into your foundation will result in a dewy yet shine-free finish that boosts radiance and masks imperfections for a picture-perfect complexion.

What I think: This is such a pretty primer. It smooths my skin and gives it a soft glow. I love it under powder foundation, because it gives some hydration and make skin look glowy, not dry. It also helps foundation stay all day.

Melt Away Makeup Emulsifier ($23 USD) — Melt away makeup and nourish the skin with this gentle yet highly effective makeup remover for all skin types. Over a dozen natural oils and extracts combine to dissolve all traces of makeup including stubborn waterproof and long-wear makeup! Melt Away breaks down dirt, pigment and excess oils to keep skin looking clean, clear and radiantly shine-free!

What I think: This oil-based cleanser takes everything off! That’s so important in summer because of all the waterproof makeup I use. Once I cleanse my skin, it’s really hydrated and soft. It also has a natural, herbal scent. I like that it has natural oils that are so good for my skin!

Blue Agave Mask ($26 USD) — Give your skin an energizing boost with this ultra-refreshing blue agave mask. An Energy Complex of green tea, ginseng and Vitamin B helps stimulate the skin’s natural metabolism for the look of plumper, hydrated and refreshed skin. The cooling sensation and uplifting scent will leave your skin feeling totally revived.

What I think: I love this super-fun mask! To use it, I apply a generous amount on my face (avoiding my eyes). It takes about 15-20 minutes to dry down to a shimmery turquoise blue. Then it’s ready to peel off. It peels off easily and leaves my skin very smooth and glowing!

New BIC Pens & Pencils For Back To School!

I don’t know about you, but I think that it’s crazy that the new school year is right around the corner! My kids start in about a month.

Luckily, I was sent new BIC products for my honest review. They have a variety of fun pens and pencils available this school year that are perfect for school work (or for me, work work)!

BIC 4-Color 3+1 Ball Pen and Pencil- This is genius! The renowned 4-color pen, now includes a pencil! It is three color inks and 0.7 mm Pencil in one – writes black, Blue, Red and graphite Pencil. This is so good for students who write in pen and pencil, and there’s an eraser on top! The package includes extra led and erasers, too.

BIC Fineliner ($6.50 USD) Perfect for writing, doodling and drafting, as well as adult coloring. Water-based ink. Won’t bleed through paper. This does have a very fine line and is really great for cursive writing.

BIC Gel-ocity ($6.99 USD) I love using these for taking notes and jotting ideas down for work. It dries up to 3x faster for less smearing than the original BIC Gel-ocity pens! I love the different colors, too.

BIC Velocity ($5.99 USD) — My kids love mechanical pencils! These boast a 75% wider eraser compared to the original BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencil. Soft gel grip molds to the hand for a comfortable writing experience. Smoothest, darkest writing vs. other BIC mechanical pencils.

My Beauty Favorites — Week of July 10 – July 16, 2017

It has been so hot out! It is definitely the dog days of summer.

I have been loving the following liquid lipstick and nail polishes. They are both long lasting and fun for the summer:

In the summer, I always want easy care for my hair. And I think that starts with great products, such as easy shampoo, conditioner and styling products.

I was sent the below products for my honest review. They are all products that help clean and keep hair looking great, without a lot of fuss:

Wen Summer Honey Peach Cleansing Conditioner ($40 for 16 oz) – a rich fragrance with warm and indulgent honey that tempers fresh juicy peach. With one product, you replace your shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, leave-in, and detangler. All three formulas are designed to work with all hair types and textures.

Wen Mandarin Italian Fig Nourishing Mousse ($42 USD) – This formula has a bright citrus scent tempered with fig, earthy aromas, the scent of florals, woods, and amber. Nourishing Mousse should be applied to soaking wet hair, before or after WEN Styling Creme. Distribute evenly throughout your hair and style as desired.

What I think: First of all, Wen products always smell amazing — really natural and fresh. I love that the cleansing conditioner can be used for the whole body. It leaves hair and body soft and hydrated. It’s easy use for the summer as it is cleansing and conditioning in one step. The Mousse leaves hair soft and swingy, plus it helps keep the style in place.

Art Naturals Argan Shampoo & Conditioner Hair Growth Treatment Duo ($44 for both bottles) —Blends argan oil, aloe vera, white willow bark, burdock root, rosemary, thyme and other ingredients to stimulate hair growth. What I think: I can really tell that my hair it thinning in the summer. That’s because I pull it back a lot. This combo keeps my scalp healthy and helps prevent hair loss, which I need. I do notice that I lose less hair when I wash it, as I have continued using this. We’ll see if I grow hair, and that would be amazing!

My husband always loved this shampoo/conditioner and was so happy to receive some to try. It is leaving his hair soft and smooth! I use it too, but I also add a little extra conditioner. I have been loving the Thickening one. My hair does seem thicker and has lots of volume!

I have received some gorgeous nail polish lately and want to share some of my favorites starting with a patriotic trio from Lauren B.

My Beauty Favorites — Week of June 26 – July 2, 2017

I can’t believe it’s already July! This year is flying by so fast.

My favorites this week are products for the face and body that smell great and hydrate so well. They include rosewater toner and exfoliators, a Vitamin C peel, gentle skin bath products and sweet smelling body products.

Gülsha – Ultimate Rosewater ($20 USD) — gülsha Ultimate Rosewater, produced drop by drop by the gentle steam distillation of fresh rose petals in pure copper alembics, is more than a rosewater. Usually, rosewater is a by-product of rose essential oil distillation. What I think: I use these together by adding the rosewater to the rose dust. It creates a paste. I then add a bit of water to get a foam and massage into my face. Once I rinse it off, my face feels really soft. I also use the rosewater as a toner afterwards. It has a very strong scent, but the rose dust is softly scent, which I like.

What I think: The packaging of these products are really fun. The bath latte smells yummy and makes skin so soft. The bath fizzer bar is ingenious, but it doesn’t really fizz much. You have to hold it under running water, and it fizzes a little. And the cosmetic bag is cute, perfect for small makeup items.
