IT Cosmetics_ IT_s All About You! Customer Favorites Collection

IT Cosmetics’ IT’s All About You! Customer Favorites Collection brings your most beautiful self forward with the look of light and color! This Today’s Special Value is  on QVC today, Saturday, March 10th, 2018 and will be offered for one day only!

This exclusive four-piece collection features is valued at $173.43 and it is on sale today for $59.96!  It contains the following products:

  • 2.53-fl oz CC+ Cream Illumination in Fair, Light, Medium, Medium Tan, Tan, Rich, or Deep
  • 0.192-oz Bye Bye Pores Blush in Sweet Cheeks, a peachy-pink shade
  • 0.057-fl oz Je Ne Sais Quoi Hydrating Color Awakening Lip Treatment Serum
  • Heavenly Skin CC+ Skin Perfecting Brush

I have tried all of these amazing products before, except for the brand new lip treatment serum.  Here’s more info on each product:

It all begins with the super-size CC+ Cream Illumination. It’s your complete skin care, your SPF 50 UVA/UVB sunscreen, and full coverage in one step. There is no shimmer or glitter, but a lit-from-within look! Infused with hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, hyaluronic acid, and other skin-loving ingredients, Drops of Light Technology helps give your skin a beautiful radiance. Paired with the Heavenly Skin CC+ Skin Perfecting Brush, CC+ Cream helps improve the appearance of dry fine lines and wrinkles.

To brighten the look of your complexion, Bye Bye Pores Blush in the new shade, Sweet Cheeks, instantly diffuses the look of pores and imperfections while giving your skin the perfect kiss of peachy pink. Hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, and peptides infused in your blush? That’s what makes IT Cosmetics so different. What’s more, it’s and talc- and paraben-free!

Infused with butters, oils, hyaluronic acid, and antioxidants, Je Ne Sais Quoi Hydrating Color Awakening Lip Treatment Serum delivers hydration with your perfect flush of soft, pink color.

You get a HUGE tube of the CC+ Cream Illumination.  This applies so nicely to the skin and makes you look flawless.  Using it with the amazing brush will give a pretty even coverage.  I love IT brushes — so high quality!

I actually have the blush in Sweet Cheeks already and use it every day.  It looks super shimmery in the pan, but when applied, my skin looks so glowy!

The lip product feels nice on.  The Je Ne Sais Quoi shade has been made into so many lip products by IT because it is so popular.  It goes on very light pink, but deepens to a different shade for each person.  On me it’s always super bright pink.  So I don’t wear it often.   If it stayed a light pink, I would love it!

All in all, this is a great deal, especially if you love IT Cosmetics’ fan favorite CC+ Cream.  The jumbo size of that is worth the cost of the whole kit!

Julep Maven March 2018 Subscription Box Review

IMG_0511

I have just received Julep Maven box recently came!  This is the March subscription box. The cost is $24.99 a month ($19.99 a month with a 3-month subscription).

I have been a subscriber for 5 years now.  And I love it!  You don’t have to take a box each month, you can skip if you want to.  Which is so nice if I’m short a month or if I’m not feeling any of the items.  I skipped December, because I was a bit short of cash and I didn’t really need any of the products.

I also love that you can customize your box.  When I first started subscribing, I could choose from curated boxes, but now, I get to curate my own!  This month I chose the Dream Big Nightly Renewal Pressed Serum with BHA and two metallic matte nail polishes.  I received some cute shamrock nail decals as an extra!

IMG_0512

Here’s a closer look!

img_0514.jpg

IMG_0515

I was excited to try the new Dream Big Nightly Renewal Pressed Serum with BHA ($36 or $28.80 for Mavens) — This claims — An innovative stick streamlines your nighttime serum and moisturizer steps into one. It deeply hydrates as it gently exfoliates to unveil smoother, more refined skin overnight.

I really wasn’t paying attention to this, because I didn’t realize that it was a stick until I got it home! I haven’t tried it on my face yet, because I’m trying a new No7 brightening serum (review to come).  But I have swatched it on my hand.  It’s very hydrating.  I hope it’s not to heavy for my face, but we will see!

img_0519.jpg

These cute little shamrocks will be perfect for a St. Patrick’s Day manicure.  I have a new green polish that will look amazing with them!

img_0518.jpg

These shades are from top Polly Ann –Cool Aubergine Matte Shimmer and bottom — Sonia — Blue Steel Matte Metallic.

I took this when the day was almost done, so the lighting isn’t perfect.  The top is more purple and the bottom, teal.  These look a bit like fall shades to me. I picked them out.  I guess I’m not ready for spring yet!

Do you get Julep Maven?  What products did you choose this month?

Colourpop My Little Pony Pressed Powder Shadow Palette Review

img_0013.jpg

Colourpop My Little Pony Palette Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ($16 USD) — This is my last  Colourpop eye shadow palette from my after holiday sale haul.  I have to be honest, I think I may have purchased this for the packaging!  It’s so fun.  Also, my daughter Abby was obsessed with the OG My Little Pony’s from ages 3-6.  Since she is graduating from high school this year, I’m a little nostalgic…

IMG_0236

I usually wear neutral colors on my eyes, but these are so pretty!

IMG_0247

The shades from left to right are:

Butterscotch: white with subtle pink violet opalescent sheen
Blossom: metallic peach with pink and gold duochrome finish
Starshine: metallic golden tangerine
Bluebell: satin golden ivory
Applejack: matte dusty red violet
Skydancer: metallic bright icy lavender
Minty: matte cool-toned fuchsia
Flutterbye: matte true pastel peach
Twilight: satin deep blackened violet
Firefly: metallic silvery baby blue
Snuzzle: metallic icy white with opalescent blue duochrome
Princess Sparkle: metallic rich smokey turquoise

Here are my swatches

IMG_0243

IMG_0242

These shadows are pretty well pigmented.  A few, like the lavender, need to be built up. I think a fun thing about this palette is that there are warm and cool shades.  I was worried that a complete look couldn’t be made with just this crazy palette. It can, but it’s a very colorful look. I’m actually surprised by how much I like it!

This is not my everyday palette, but it will be nice for spring looks and fun occasions.  Like all of the Colourpop palettes I’ve tried, it’s great quality and affordable.

What’s an eye shadow palette that you bought and were surprised by?

Maybelline Lip Studio Python Metallic Lip Kit Review

IMG_0431.JPG

Maybelline Lip Studio Python Metallic Lip Kit  ($9.99 USD) feature duos in gorgeous lip colors and prismatic lip powders.  I was set the collection to review for my honest review.  These can be purchased at mass market retailers.

These are duos as you can see below, a lip cream and a metallic top coat.

I’m going to swatch these in groups.  Here are the first three:

img_0506.jpg

img_0507.jpg

IMG_0509

From left to right — 05 Passionate, 10 Piercing and 15 Venomous.  I have placed the two colors in each kit side by side, then above is the two colors together.  These are all very bold and fun!

IMG_0497

IMG_0498.JPG

IMG_0502

From left to right — 20 Wild, 25 Valiant and 30 Provoked.  Wild is bright and fun!  It’s kind of hard to see in the swatch, but the metallic is a bronze.  I think this look will be nice on tanned, summer skin.  My two favorites out of the whole collection are Valiant (I love purple) and  Provoked is a cool nude.

IMG_0503

IMG_0504

IMG_0505.JPG

From left to right — 35 Snakebite and 40 Untamed. Snakebite will be so fun for St. Patrick’s day, especially with the gold on tip.  Untamed is really cool. Great for dramatic looks!

What I think:  These are on trend and really fun.  And there are a good variety of shades to try.  These do work well, and I find the best way to use them is to apply the lip color with a brush, then dab the glitter on with a finger.

Also, the metallic toppers can be used on the eyes, or maybe even as a glittery highlighter.  They are a bit sticky, so make sure to blend!

The only negative to me is they feel a little dry on.  Plus, I’m almost fifty and I can’t see myself wearing these often. Maybe for fun nights out and holidays.

Have you tried these fun lip products?

Mini Ulta Haul

img_0461.jpg

So, I wanted to go on a makeup spree, but instead I made a small online order on Ulta.  Makeup Revolution is currently on sale at Ulta, buy 2 get one free.  Which is an amazing deal!  Plus I saw this sparkly Real Techniques powder brush and had to have it!

I am going probably going to review all of these with swatches at some time, but here are the products I just bought:

img_0465.jpg

img_0466.jpg

This is the Makeup Revolution Reloaded Palette in Newtrals 2.  It is only $7 USD and is STUNNING!  It is so pigmented and the colors are gorgeous, especially the shimmers.  I will be swatching this in a review in a week or two, after I play with it. I do want to say that I like this so much I am tempted to go to Ulta and get the other 3 palettes in the Reloaded collection while the buy 2 get one free deal is still going on!

IMG_0463

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Conceal & Contour — $7 USD.  I got the shade C4.  I like it so far, but I think I should have got it lighter.  I’m going to play with it a bit before I review it.  I hear it’s a dupe for tarte’s Shape Tape, but I haven’t tried that concealer.

img_0462.jpg

Makeup Revolution Luxury Baking Powder in Lace — $8 USD — This originally just came in the banana powder shade.  I don’t do well with anything yellow or orange, so I was happy to find the cream color Lace powder.  I am liking it for setting makeup and baking.

IMG_0464

IMG_0469

Real Techniques Brush Crush 300 Powder Brush — $12.99 USD — I wasn’t happy with my powder brush, so I was looking for a fluffy one.  And this is gorgeous!  So fun, it makes me me smile each time I use it.

Do you like shopping at Ulta?  What did you get at your last visit?

Nip + Fab Glycolic Pad Collection Review

I think exfoliating skin is so important at any age. I try to do it as much as my sensitive skin will allow.

I was recently sent some Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix products for my honest review.  Here’s what I think:

Nip + Fab GLYCOLIC FIX FOAMING PADS
Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Foaming Pads

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Foaming Pads ($14.99 USD) — This is a very cool product!  It’s a wet, foaming pad that you cleanse the skin with, Then rinse off for smooth, cleans skin. Enriched in 2% glycolic acid and moisture-rich ingredients, switch between the textured side to exfoliate and the smooth side to polish skin and lift away dirt, oil and impurities.

These are thicker than the normal Glycolic Fix pads and the textured side is a bit rougher.  I find that they cleanse and exfoliate in one step.  Use a day or night cleansing pad afterwards for double exfoliation.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Clenasing Pads
Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads (12.99 USD) — 60 radiance-boosting pads, soaked in exfoliating glycolic acid (2.8%) retexture + resurface skin whilst witch hazel helps to tone. Also includes hyaluronic acid + soothing blue daisy helps to reveal brighter + smoother looking skin.

First of all, all of these products smell very nice.  Mild and fresh.  These are easy to use after cleansing, swipe them on skin, moisturize.  Gorgeous!  Skin is ready for makeup. These really help the texture of my skin by making it smoother and pores less noticeable.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme
Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme ($14.95 USD) — A more potent version of the bestselling glycolic fix pads, these extreme night pads contain the ighest level of glycolic acid at 5% and have been further enhanced with the addition of salicylic acid, making these your ultimate night treatment to refine pores, brighten the complexion and de-congest the skin through the improvement of the skin’s natural exfoliation process.

This is not a daily product, I use maybe once or twice a week. I can really feel it re-texturizing my skin, but it doesn’t irritate it at all, and I have sensitive skin!

If you want an easy to use and not messy exfoliation at a great price, I highly recommend these.

February 2018 Beauty Favorites

Happy Sunday!  I hope you had a great week and are getting ready for March.  I am so excited that spring is coming!

This year, I have decided to do something different with my favorites posts.  Instead of posting a weekly favorites of new products I love, I have begun to post monthly about the products I have been using most.

In February, my faves were —

IMG_0435.JPG

Flawless by Gabrielle Union Heat Protection Spray ($19 USD) — I have to use a heat protection spray when I straighten my hair or it gets so dry. This shields hair with a liquid barrier of thermal protection up to 450 degrees. Contains a blend of Argan, Avocado and Marula Oils, alongside naturally-derived Pea Protein, to increase elasticity and to prevent breakage. Once I spray it on, my flat iron glides through my hair and it looks hydrated and smooth.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 Hour Breathable Foundation ($7.99 USD) — I love this foundation!  I have been wearing it every day.  It’s so light and looks like I don’t have makeup on, yet it covers redness and other imperfections well.

Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer ($6.49 USD) — This oil-free formula conceals redness, flaws, and blemishes. I love using it on my red patches, under the eyes (if my eye area isn’t too dry) and on my lid as a primer.  It covers well and looks natural.

Becca Champagne Cocktail Lipgloss. — This was in a kit that is sold on QVC.  You can read my review of the kit here.  I don’t think this gloss is for sale separately.  Which is too bad, because it’s amazing.  The shade I have is Sparkling Rose.  It’s sheer, but does leave a bit of color. I love that it’s hydrating and not too sticky.  I’m a big fan of lip glosses as I hate lip color that dries out my lips!

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector ($32 USD) —  This was in the same kit as the lip gloss, but it can be purchased separately.  This isn’t a full coverage concealer, but it instantly brightens under my eye and it does conceal a bit.  It gives my eye area a glow and makes it look younger.

Winky Luxe Kitten Palette – ($25 USD) — I received this in my November 2017 BoxyCharm. You can see a  review of this palette with swatches here.  I love most of these shades and can make lots of looks with it!  Gorgeous!

What have you been loving this month?

New Lippies from essence makeup!

img_0418.jpg

I’m a fan of essence makeup!  Their products are affordable and generally pretty amazing!  They has recently released some fun new lip products. I was sent a few to test for my honest review.

IMG_0419

IMG_0421

essence ultra last instant colour lipstick ($4.99): This is a long-lasting lipstick with a  creamy texture.  It does last for a while, and leaves a stained lip after eating or drinking.  I like that it doesn’t dry out my lips. Available in 20 shades.

Here are swatches of the lipsticks:

IMG_0424

From left to right: 16 Fancy Blush, 5 Un-Grey-Tful and 17 Bur-Berry.  Fancy Blush is my favorite and one I can see myself wearing a lot.  I usually wear lighter colors, but this will be nice for goring out.

img_0426.jpg

essence butter sticks ($3.99): These are very pigmented and hydrating, even the matte ones!  The modern retractable stick is super convenient and easy to apply. Available in 5 glossy love & 5 matte love shades.

IMG_0427

The first two are matte and the third is glossy. It’s hard to tell from my swatch, but the glossy one is shinier.  The shades are matte 2 Hot Cocoa, matte 5 Betty Gold and glossy 4 Dark Syrup.  Dark Syrup is really the only wearable color for me, but I would wear the matte one in a different shade. These are all really hydrating and easy to apply.  I find they cover well, too!  Probably my favorite of all three products!

IMG_0428

essence vibrant/metal shock lip paint ($4.49): Bright and metallic lips are so popular right now! These claim that one swipe gives an instant high color impact with a semi-matte finish.  Available in 6 vibrant and 6 metallic shocking shades.

img_0430.jpg

Left to right are vibrant in 3 Red Viper, metallic in 5 Arsenic and 3 Lilly of the Valley.

These are probably my least favorite of the products.  They are sheer and need a few coats to build up.  I’m also not the biggest fan of drying liquid lipsticks.

Have you tried any of the essence lippies?  Which ones are your faves?

ColourPop Golden State Of Mind Pressed Powder Shadow Palette

img_0016.jpg

I have another Colourpop Palette from my early January haul to review.  I have reviewed almost all of the palettes I received.

This is the Golden State of Mind palette .  This is usually $26, but is on sale now for $20.  I think most of the site that isn’t on sale is 20% off if you spend over $50 right now.  That code is GET20.  I don’t think this is included since it’s already on sale.

IMG_0017

This beauty is made up of metallic and shimmer shades.  It’s super sparkly and gorgeous!  I was very lucky because I picked it up at a time where if I spent $50, I got this palette for free.  Here are the shades from top to bottom:

Golden Egg: pinky beige with turquoise glitter
Pay the Piper: icy blue
GRLFRND: pink with violet glitter
Zero Clue: vibrant warm yellow
Watch Out: golden ivory with pink glitter
Drizzle: icy baby pink
Uptight: rose gold
Can’t Stop: icy champagne ivory
Sparkler: silvery bronze
Unsupervised: pink champagne
Lust in Time: medium cool rose
Mind Tricks: icy blackened purple
Wing Woman: red brown with green and gold glitter
Heads or Tales: icy cranberry
Tinker Time: blackened antique gold with blue glitter

IMG_0217

IMG_0218

IMG_0220

I thought the first row of pastels was going to be my favorite, but I love this last row.  The colors are so gorgeous and dramatic.  These swatch so nicely.  I thought they needed to be applied with a finger because a brush wouldn’t pick up the pigment, but if I dig in with a harder brush, I can apply them pretty well.  Fingers do work, though!

What surprised be about this palette is that I thought I would use it as an accent to other shadows, especially mattes.  But, I have been able to create complete, if shimmery, looks. They are nice used with mattes, though!

I do like this palette.  It is not one I reach for daily, but it’s nice for weekends and speciall occasions.

I’d have to say pressed powder palettes are my favorite ColourPop products.  What’s yours?

TLW Let’s Get Tacos Treatment Oil

It is formulated with grape seed oil, the treatment moisturizes, strengthens, repairs and adds shine while, Kakadu plum oil provides UV protection and heat resistance.
