What I think: Is your skin parched? Use this trio, then go to sleep. You will wake up with very soft skin! I LOVE the melting cleanser. I like to apply it dry to my skin, rub it in, then remove it (and my makeup) with a damp cloth. My skin is clean and so soft! I love a moisturizing mask because they can calm my redness, this one is no exception. I applied it, left it on for 10 minutes, and my skin was smooth.

The moisturizer is a drink of water for dry skin. It instantly softens and hydrates. I love that it works overnight to deliver moisture by morning. There are other products in the collection, so check them out!

What my husband thinks: My husband loved these products. They smell fresh and masculine. He doesn’t use a lot of skincare, but he really liked the scrub. It got rid of the dry skin and made his face soft. The soap he used in the shower and liked how clean it left his skin.

He also liked the shaving cream. He is used to shaving cream that foams, but he said that this worked just as well and that he got a smooth shave.

I have this in Heat Wave. It is so gorgeous and bright! I think it will be so pretty in the summer when I have a little (faux) tan. It blends very well and gives a nice flush.

essence mono eyeshadow ($1.99 USD) — Formulated with finely-milled, highly pigmented powder to provide long-lasting and full coverage. Available in 9 shades.

This is gorgeous! This gold shade is lovely. Great for an eyeshadow or highlighter. It’s very pigmented, too!

essence all about bronze 01 eyeshadow — ($5.49 USD) — All about… beautiful eyes! Gorgeous eyeshadow palettes with eight complementing, buildable colors and multiple finishes; satin, matte and metallic effects.

This is a beautiful, shimmer palette that screams summer to me! It comes in other shades too, such as nudes and pinks. These are so affordable, pick them all up!

essence I love volume mascara waterproof ($4.99 USD) — The newest member of the most beloved mascara family – now available in a waterproof formula! The large fiber brush separates and covers each individual lash for breathtaking volume. Ophthalmologist-tested.

I’m always looking for a great waterproof mascara, they are hard to find. This one gives volume and length, and stays on all day!

essence liquid lipstick 05 ($3.49 USD) This innovative formula unites the coverage of a lipstick with the moisturizing shine of a gloss. The silky texture goes on smoothly and dries shiny, not sticky! Available in 6 shades.

I thought this was a lipstick at first, if you turn the tube upside down, that’s what it looks like! I was so surprised when I opened it and it was a liquid lipstick. It is very moisturizing (not matte). This color is too bright for me, but I want to try it in a nude.

Product Review — jane iredale’s BeautyPrep Collection

jane iredale’s March 2016 launches: BeautyPrep™ Face Cleanser, Toner and Moisturizer. I was sent this collection and have been using it in the morning for a couple of weeks. Here are the products:

White Rose supports natural cell regeneration and the skin barrier, while restoring suppleness.
Damask Rose helps to tighten pores, purify and smooth the skin.
Rosa Canina (Rosehips) calms and brightens skin and helps prevent transepidermal water loss.
Pale Rose helps to rebuild the moisture barrier and provide suppleness for the appearance of newer, softer skin.

What I think: I love all three of these products. They are very easy to use (no water needed!), and leave my skin very soft. I like to use the cleanser day and night. Micellar waters have become my daily go-to, because you pour on a pad then wipe the face. They are easy, work well and provide skincare benefits.

I also follow it up with the toner to keep my skin clean and clear. It also leaves it moisturized and not dry.

The moisturizer is amazing! It is light enough to use in the day time under makeup, but really keeps my skin soft and firm. It also doubles as a night cream if you need a light moisturizer.

I use all types of makeup, but especially cream makeup. I make sure to include an SPF if my makeup doesn’t have sunscreen. The scent of the toner and moisturizer are VERY lemony. The cleanser has a softer citrus scent. The lemon products are a little strong, but the benefits of the system outweigh the scent.

My Beauty Favorites — Week of February 15-21, 2016

It has been gorgeous in Kansas City this week! Really warm and sunny. It is turning cold again, but that’s okay. It is still February!

This week I have been loving healing body products, a fun lip and hand moisturizing pack and a fragrance that is easy to carry with you.

My daughter who has eczema has been using the itch relief lotion and it seems to be helping her dry, red skin. And it feels better, too.

What I think: I think this is a neat idea. I like the shape of the bottle. This scent is a little bit sweet and spicy for me (I like fresh scents), but it does have a nice depth to it. There are other scents in the line, so check them out!

I love doing my own nails. Since my nails are natural, they are not long or pointy or scary, but they do love color!

I give myself a manicure at least once a week. So I love to have lots of different polish brands and colors to change on a whim.

The nail polishes below are new to me — and I love them all. These were sent to me for my honest review:

Chrome Girl — This is a collection of nail lacquers and treatments that are all vegan, long lasting, cruelty free, made in the USA, and are of course 8-free (produced without formaldehyde, DBP, toluene, formaldehyde resin, camphor, silicone, acetone, and phthalates)!

Already spotted on the red carpet on Jennifer Hudson, Chrome Girl continues to be a favorite of many of today’s top celebrities including Emily Deschanel, Anna Sophia Robb, Julianne Hough and many more.

The colors above from left to right are Lazy Daze, Mercury in Retrograde, and No Tan Lines. They are all just one coat, and you can tell how great the coverage is. No Tan Lines is my new favorite neutral, and Mercury in Retrograde is gorgeous!

Nonie Creme Colour Prevails Nail Lacquer ($8 USD) in Mr. Big — This beautiful slate grey named after our favorite Sex and the City man is the perfect complement to just about every tone in your wardrobe. Add a matte finish only ups the trend factor.

Nonie Creme Colour Prevails Nail Lacquer in Wine O’Clock ($8 USD) A glass of Pinot Noir provides an instant warming effect with one sip, and as it turns out, its nail color counterpart does the same in a swipe.

Mr. Big covers very well, and it’s hard to see, but it has subtle glitter in it. Wine O’clock is also gorgeous, but needs a few coats to become opaque. The handle on these make them very easy to apply, even with your weaker hand!

I love applying it all around my eye area, morning and night. Actually I use serums and eye creams both morning and night (and I am still wrinkle free)!

The night cream is probably my favorite product of the three. It also sinks right into the skin and leaves it so soft! I also use it on my neck (which could use some lifting and firming, too)! It has a wonderful texture, I am so happy that it is not a thick night cream. Some night creams are so heavy on, but not this one! I love using it every night!

I have been using these products for about a month, and my skin does seem a bit firmer. I will continue using it to see if there is even more improvement over time.

Last week I was loving new makeup that I was sent for my honest review. I tried two new (to me) brands. Wander Beauty and a German cosmetics company, Sante. Both have some amazing products that I LOVE:

What I think: I was so excited to try the foundation stick! I received it in Light, and that matches my skin perfectly. Looking at it in the photo, I thought it would have a thicker consistency like a concealer. But, it is very creamy and glides right one. It covers well, and I can add more to build coverage. I use their Wander Cushion to blend. Its a reusable sponge and is easy to blend with.

I received the lipstick in Spice. I usually wear lighter colors, but I liked it. It’s something that I can wear out on a date with my husband!

What I think: The coverstick is very full coverage. It is perfect for dark circles, red patches and blemishes. I love wearing under my foundation for extra coverage.

The eyeshadow palette I received was Aubergine, which includes a light pink and two purples. It makes an awesome smoky eye, very colorful.

My favorite Sante products is the lip color. I received the Nude 01 color, it’s a pinkish nude and it so pretty on.

I was sent Raspberry Lemonade and Strawberry Kiwi. I was surprised that both are clear. I am used to colored water drops. But since they are natural, it makes sense.

My favorite is the Strawberry Kiwi. It has a natural fruit flavor and doesn’t really have a sweetener aftertaste. The Raspberry Lemonade is good, too. I like to put just a little in my glass or water bottle and build it to the flavor I want.

I would purchase these again and might have to try the other two flavors as well!
