New Arbonne RE9 Advanced Body and Neck Creams

Arbonne RE9 Advanced Retexturizing Serum in Lotion
Arbonne RE9 Advanced Retexturizing Serum in Lotion

I was sent some amazing Arbonne RE9 Advanced body and neck products for my honest review.  I have only been using these for about a week, so I haven’t seen the long term benefits yet.  This is more like first impressions.

A big release is the RE9 Advanced Retexturizing Serum in Lotion ($50 USD) — This double-duty body lotion contains serum that not only delivers amazing all-day hydration, but also offers gentle exfoliation.

What I think:  I love how this feels on my skin.  It immediately hydrates and leaves my skin silky smooth.  It isn’t greasy at all.  I can tell that it has serum in it, because it sinks into my skin and my skin glows and appears smoother.  My dry patches on my elbows already look better! The only issue is that I don’t really care for the scent.  It’s lemony, almost like a home cleaner.  I am going to use it up to see what it does to my skin.

Two other products from the collection are the RE9 Advanced Firming Body Cream and the RE9 Advanced Age Defying Neck Cream.  Here are the descriptions from the Arbonne website:

RE9 Advanced Age-Defying Neck Cream ($85 USD) — This heavenly cream, formulated with peptides, helps improve the appearance of firmness by adding moisture to your delicate neck and décolletage area, while stabilized vitamin C boosts and maintains moisture to support collagen.1.7 oz.

RE9 Advanced Firming Body Cream ($75 USD) –This luxurious cream deeply nourishes the skin with hydration, formulated with red algae extract, to smooth the appearance of dimpled skin and promote a shapelier-looking silhouette. 6.7 oz.

What I think:  The neck cream is hydrating and smoothing.  And the body cream is really rich and gives a ton of moisture.  I will be trying it out to see if they both firm.

Jane Iredale Spring 2018 Collection

jane iredale Spring 2018 Collection

I am so excited that it’s spring!  I received the jane iredale spring collection and it’s bright and gorgeous! Jane iredale is a natural beauty brand that has beautiful cosmetics that wear really nicely.

One of my favorite products from this collection is the Limited Edition Snap Happy Makeup Kit ($58 USD) — This is a cute little makeup stack that includes:

PureMatte® Finish Powder – translucent
Whisper PurePressed® Blush – shimmery peachy pink
Brown Sugar PurePressed® Eye Shadow Triple – warm brown, shimmery peach, shimmery copper eggplant

I love all of these products and they work well together.  The powder is translucent and works well as a finishing powder.  The blush is light and a little sparkly, nice for spring and summer.  I have been wearing warm eye shadows lately so it was so nice to get a cooler toned palette! These are all shimmery and so nicely pigmented.  This kit will be good for traveling, too.

I have also been loving the Content Lip Fixation Lip Stain/Gloss ($32 SD) — The new shade Content is a stunning matte pink and clear shimmer duo provides the perfect versatility to change up your look from day to night. The color side applies really well and dries down, but not too matte or hard.  The shimmery gloss is a fun top coat.

I also received two new PureMoist Lipsticks in Jamie and Tricia ($25 USD each) — Jamie is a rosy terra cotta and Tricia is a nude shade. These lipsticks are very moisturizing and contain natural oils and superfruit extracts.

What also made me happy is that they released two new Mystikol Powdered Eyeliner ($24 each) The shades are:

Sapphire — A vibrant blue cream-to-powder liner to define eyes with precision.
Emerald — A beautiful emerald green version for dramatic smoke with all-day staying power.

I really enjoy these liners and have them in a few shades.  They are creamy and pigmented and look so nice on.  I wore the Emerald one on St. Patrick’s Day and it lasted all day long.

I think this is a fun collection for spring and like that it includes classic shades as well as pops of color. These products can be purchased at http://www.janeiredale.com.

Are you a jane iredale fan? Are you going to pick up any of these products?

Celebrate National Fragrance Day With Zoella Beauty!

It’s National Fragrance Day friends! What fragrance are you wearing today?

I’ve received some Zoella Beauty fragrances for my honest review. They are affordable and really fun. Plus, Zoe is so fun to watch on YouTube, I’m happy to support her!

Sweet Inspirations ($12.95): inspired by the sweet scent of macaroons, this deliciously chic fragrance will leave you smelling totally irresistible.  This is my favorite.  It smells like vanilla and is a warm scent.  I think it’s appropriate for all occasions.

Gelat’eau Body Mist ($12.95): inspired by ice cream and desserts, Zoe Sugg created this indulgent fragrance with notes Elderflower Jelly, Pomegranate and Rich Double Cream. This smells very floral to me, not like a food scent at all.  Maybe it’s the elderflower?  It’s nice if you like fresh, floral scents.

Blissful Mistful ($12.95): this super light and feminine scent contains fresh & floral notes of Wild Strawberry, Grapefruit, Violet, Jasmine, Gardenia & Vanilla. The fruit extracts are enriched with Vitamin E for even more delightful body benefits. Blissful Mistful also comes in a solid fragrance option ($8.50).

These are so nice.  Simple packaging and fun, youthful fragrances.  They are available at Ulta.com.  Have you tried Zoella Beauty?

BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review — March 2018

IMG_0591

I have been anxiously awaiting my March 2018 BoxyCharm!  I received it a few days  ago and am excited to share it with you.  I really like this subscription.  You get a lot of makeup for a great price!

Boxycharm is just $21 a month for 5-6 beauty items, most of them full-sized.

Here’s what I got this month:

img_0594.jpg

img_0595.jpg

This Pretty Vulgar blush is in the shade Hush Blush.  The description is Rose, but it is looks like a neutral, peachy pink to me.  Sorry about the photos!  The top one looks darker, I think it was just the light in my office.  Here’s a swatch:

IMG_0599

This blush is really pigmented! Plus there is a lot in the pan, .2 oz/ 6 g.  There was another variant shade, Prim Vixen, that is a bright pink.  I was hoping to get that shade, but this is pretty. I might give it a try and if I don’t like it, I’ll pass it on!  The packaging is beautiful, though!

IMG_0601

IMG_0603.JPGStunning! This was the item I was most excited to receive.  I love eye shadows and I love PUR Cosmetics.  So, win win!  I will be doing a review with swatches in the near future (I still have the palette from my January Boxy to review, as well as a couple other palettes).

I have worn this a couple of time and am really loving the pigmentation and shades so far.

IMG_0605.JPG This is such a cute eye shadow brush set!  The bristles are pretty soft and the handles are wood, which is a nice touch!  I am going to hold on to these and use them when I need a change in my brushes.  Or give them to someone who needs them.

img_0596.jpg

img_0597.jpg

I love trying new mascara!  I was excited to try this one.  I love the shape of the brush and butter LONDON’s products are usually good quality.  I have tried this twice, and unfortunately, it flakes on me!  The first day was taking my daughter to the anime festival last weekend.  When I got home, my mascara was flaked under my eyes and on my cheeks pretty badly.  I wasn’t sure if I had rubbed my eyes (because teenage girls and anime), so I wore it again today.  I’ve only worn it a few hours and there are a few flakes under my eyes.  I wonder if other people have had this problem?

img_0598.jpg

These are an interesting item that was included!  I’ve read the back of the box, and it looks like this is a treatment.  You apply it under the eye and leave them on for 30 minutes.  And for best results, use for three consecutive days.  There are three in the box, so I wonder if after the three days, my under eyes will look 10 years younger??? I can dream, right!

I think I will start these on Thursday or Friday and see what happens!

So this month’s BoxyCharm is one of my favorite yet!  The eye shadow palette is worth the price to me. The blush packaging is so gorgeous and it is highly pigmented.  It might be a great summer blush for me once I get a bit of a (faux) tan.  The brushes will be used or happily gifted.  The mascara may be a no go, though.  Which is too bad.  And I’m going to give the eye gels a whirl.

Next month, the spoiler is that every box gets a ColourPop eye shadow palette!  You all know how I love my ColourPop.  I hope I get one I don’t have, but if I do, I’ll gift it to a good home!

What did you get in your BoxyCharm this month?  You can subscribe here if you are interested in receiving an amazing box full of makeup!

IT Cosmetics’ IT’s All About You! Customer Favorites Collection — QVC TSV!

IT Cosmetics_ IT_s All About You! Customer Favorites Collection

IT Cosmetics’ IT’s All About You! Customer Favorites Collection brings your most beautiful self forward with the look of light and color! This Today’s Special Value is  on QVC today, Saturday, March 10th, 2018 and will be offered for one day only!

This exclusive four-piece collection features is valued at $173.43 and it is on sale today for $59.96!  It contains the following products:

  • 2.53-fl oz CC+ Cream Illumination in Fair, Light, Medium, Medium Tan, Tan, Rich, or Deep
  • 0.192-oz Bye Bye Pores Blush in Sweet Cheeks, a peachy-pink shade
  • 0.057-fl oz Je Ne Sais Quoi Hydrating Color Awakening Lip Treatment Serum
  • Heavenly Skin CC+ Skin Perfecting Brush

I have tried all of these amazing products before, except for the brand new lip treatment serum.  Here’s more info on each product:

It all begins with the super-size CC+ Cream Illumination. It’s your complete skin care, your SPF 50 UVA/UVB sunscreen, and full coverage in one step. There is no shimmer or glitter, but a lit-from-within look! Infused with hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, hyaluronic acid, and other skin-loving ingredients, Drops of Light Technology helps give your skin a beautiful radiance. Paired with the Heavenly Skin CC+ Skin Perfecting Brush, CC+ Cream helps improve the appearance of dry fine lines and wrinkles.

To brighten the look of your complexion, Bye Bye Pores Blush in the new shade, Sweet Cheeks, instantly diffuses the look of pores and imperfections while giving your skin the perfect kiss of peachy pink. Hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, and peptides infused in your blush? That’s what makes IT Cosmetics so different. What’s more, it’s and talc- and paraben-free!

Infused with butters, oils, hyaluronic acid, and antioxidants, Je Ne Sais Quoi Hydrating Color Awakening Lip Treatment Serum delivers hydration with your perfect flush of soft, pink color.

You get a HUGE tube of the CC+ Cream Illumination.  This applies so nicely to the skin and makes you look flawless.  Using it with the amazing brush will give a pretty even coverage.  I love IT brushes — so high quality!

I actually have the blush in Sweet Cheeks already and use it every day.  It looks super shimmery in the pan, but when applied, my skin looks so glowy!

The lip product feels nice on.  The Je Ne Sais Quoi shade has been made into so many lip products by IT because it is so popular.  It goes on very light pink, but deepens to a different shade for each person.  On me it’s always super bright pink.  So I don’t wear it often.   If it stayed a light pink, I would love it!

All in all, this is a great deal, especially if you love IT Cosmetics’ fan favorite CC+ Cream.  The jumbo size of that is worth the cost of the whole kit!

Are you picking this up?

Julep Maven March 2018 Subscription Box Review

IMG_0511

I have just received Julep Maven box recently came!  This is the March subscription box. The cost is $24.99 a month ($19.99 a month with a 3-month subscription).

I have been a subscriber for 5 years now.  And I love it!  You don’t have to take a box each month, you can skip if you want to.  Which is so nice if I’m short a month or if I’m not feeling any of the items.  I skipped December, because I was a bit short of cash and I didn’t really need any of the products.

I also love that you can customize your box.  When I first started subscribing, I could choose from curated boxes, but now, I get to curate my own!  This month I chose the Dream Big Nightly Renewal Pressed Serum with BHA and two metallic matte nail polishes.  I received some cute shamrock nail decals as an extra!

IMG_0512

Here’s a closer look!

img_0514.jpg

IMG_0515

I was excited to try the new Dream Big Nightly Renewal Pressed Serum with BHA ($36 or $28.80 for Mavens) — This claims — An innovative stick streamlines your nighttime serum and moisturizer steps into one. It deeply hydrates as it gently exfoliates to unveil smoother, more refined skin overnight.

I really wasn’t paying attention to this, because I didn’t realize that it was a stick until I got it home! I haven’t tried it on my face yet, because I’m trying a new No7 brightening serum (review to come).  But I have swatched it on my hand.  It’s very hydrating.  I hope it’s not to heavy for my face, but we will see!

img_0519.jpg

These cute little shamrocks will be perfect for a St. Patrick’s Day manicure.  I have a new green polish that will look amazing with them!

img_0518.jpg

These shades are from top Polly Ann –Cool Aubergine Matte Shimmer and bottom — Sonia — Blue Steel Matte Metallic.

I took this when the day was almost done, so the lighting isn’t perfect.  The top is more purple and the bottom, teal.  These look a bit like fall shades to me. I picked them out.  I guess I’m not ready for spring yet!

Do you get Julep Maven?  What products did you choose this month?

Colourpop My Little Pony Pressed Powder Shadow Palette Review

img_0013.jpg

Colourpop My Little Pony Palette Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ($16 USD) — This is my last  Colourpop eye shadow palette from my after holiday sale haul.  I have to be honest, I think I may have purchased this for the packaging!  It’s so fun.  Also, my daughter Abby was obsessed with the OG My Little Pony’s from ages 3-6.  Since she is graduating from high school this year, I’m a little nostalgic…

IMG_0236

I usually wear neutral colors on my eyes, but these are so pretty!

IMG_0247

The shades from left to right are:

Butterscotch: white with subtle pink violet opalescent sheen
Blossom: metallic peach with pink and gold duochrome finish
Starshine: metallic golden tangerine
Bluebell: satin golden ivory
Applejack: matte dusty red violet
Skydancer: metallic bright icy lavender
Minty: matte cool-toned fuchsia
Flutterbye: matte true pastel peach
Twilight: satin deep blackened violet
Firefly: metallic silvery baby blue
Snuzzle: metallic icy white with opalescent blue duochrome
Princess Sparkle: metallic rich smokey turquoise

Here are my swatches

IMG_0240

IMG_0243

IMG_0242

These shadows are pretty well pigmented.  A few, like the lavender, need to be built up. I think a fun thing about this palette is that there are warm and cool shades.  I was worried that a complete look couldn’t be made with just this crazy palette. It can, but it’s a very colorful look. I’m actually surprised by how much I like it!

This is not my everyday palette, but it will be nice for spring looks and fun occasions.  Like all of the Colourpop palettes I’ve tried, it’s great quality and affordable.

What’s an eye shadow palette that you bought and were surprised by?

Maybelline Lip Studio Python Metallic Lip Kit Review

IMG_0431.JPG

Maybelline Lip Studio Python Metallic Lip Kit  ($9.99 USD) feature duos in gorgeous lip colors and prismatic lip powders.  I was set the collection to review for my honest review.  These can be purchased at mass market retailers.

These are duos as you can see below, a lip cream and a metallic top coat.

I’m going to swatch these in groups.  Here are the first three:

img_0506.jpg

img_0507.jpg

IMG_0509

From left to right — 05 Passionate, 10 Piercing and 15 Venomous.  I have placed the two colors in each kit side by side, then above is the two colors together.  These are all very bold and fun!

IMG_0497

IMG_0498.JPG

IMG_0502

From left to right — 20 Wild, 25 Valiant and 30 Provoked.  Wild is bright and fun!  It’s kind of hard to see in the swatch, but the metallic is a bronze.  I think this look will be nice on tanned, summer skin.  My two favorites out of the whole collection are Valiant (I love purple) and  Provoked is a cool nude.

IMG_0503

IMG_0504

IMG_0505.JPG

From left to right — 35 Snakebite and 40 Untamed. Snakebite will be so fun for St. Patrick’s day, especially with the gold on tip.  Untamed is really cool. Great for dramatic looks!

What I think:  These are on trend and really fun.  And there are a good variety of shades to try.  These do work well, and I find the best way to use them is to apply the lip color with a brush, then dab the glitter on with a finger.

Also, the metallic toppers can be used on the eyes, or maybe even as a glittery highlighter.  They are a bit sticky, so make sure to blend!

The only negative to me is they feel a little dry on.  Plus, I’m almost fifty and I can’t see myself wearing these often. Maybe for fun nights out and holidays.

Have you tried these fun lip products?
