Brand Review — Reverie Farms & Soaps

I received samples for my honest review from the wonderful natural brand Reverie Farms & Soaps.

Reverie Farms is a small, local farm located in Argyle, Texas. They make natural beauty products because they found many soaps include unhealthy ingredients like parabens.

I received one bar soap (I chose Citrus Fusion) and a liquid hand soap (in Lemongrass):

Citrus Fusion Soap ($6 USD) — Citrus Fusion creates a new angle on citrus! The blood orange and bergamot essential oil fuse together to create a light citrus bar! It is a natural organic based bar soap and is biodegradable, vegan friendly, and made with organic oils.

This smells amazing. Is is light and fresh and a great scent for the whole family because it isn’t too strong. It cleans and leaves my skin very soft. I plan to try other scents in the future.

Natural Organic Foaming Hand Soap ($6.50 USD) — The natural organic foaming hand soap is biodegradable, vegan friendly, and made with organic oils of sunflower and/or safflower, and coconut, vegetable glycerin, rosemary extract and essential oils. It is sold in an convenient 8 ounce foaming soap dispenser. Can be used in the kitchen, bathroom, shower, etc. Great for hands as well as body cleaning! Formulated for people with sensitive skin and never tested on animals.

I have this in Lemongrass. It’s very lemony and works well in my kitchen. I like it, but it has a bit of a greasy feeling to it. I need hot water to rinse it clean. I do really like how moisturizing this is. And it foams nicely!

Amazing Drugstore Skincare and Body Care Products!

Drugstore products can be so fun to try. With a small investment, I know I can find effective beauty products and new heroes!

I was sent the products below for my honest review. Here’s what I think:

Bioré Charcoal Acne Clearing Cleanser ($6.49 USD) — A refreshing, daily liquid cleanser that achieves a deep, pore-clearing clean with without over-drying, stripping skin, or causing irritation. Natural charcoal absorbs oil, while salicylic acid treats existing pimples and prevents new ones from popping up.

What I think: My teenage daughter has been loving this! She has a bit of acne and usually treats it with a cleanser. This one has been working well. It doesn’t irritate her skin and it helps absorb oil and clear up acne. Plus, it’s very affordable!

Spa @ Home by Masque Bar Oxygen Bubble Sheet Mask ($9.99 USD) is a fun, yet effective sheet mask that immediately turns into an oxygen-rich foam, revitalizing skin with oxygen as it deep cleanses, exfoliates and moisturizes skin. They oxygen foam deeply penetrates into the skin to eliminate pore-clogging impurities to help prevent blackheads, and dead skin cells, while it helps brighten and uneven skin tones.

What I think: This is very different! When I opened the packet, it was black cloth, which surprised me. I applied it to clean skin, and it bubble up to a white foam. I removed it after 15 minutes and rinsed it off (per directions). My skin was a bit red in patches, but it did help with blackheads and pore size. I think this is perfect for all but very sensitive skin types.

Curél Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer ($10.99 USD) — This revolution in wet skin technology doesn’t simply calm, smooth and soften, it also heals dry, flaky skin and restores your body’s ability to retain its own much-needed moisture. The water-activated properties penetrate deep into skin’s surface all happens in the shower – no rinsing required — so you can just dry off, dress and go!

What I think: Wet skin moisturizers are such a cool idea, and this one really works! The only thing is I usually forget to apply it right after my shower, before I dry off! When I do, my skin is so hydrated, which I need after a shower because my skin can get so dry. This leaves my skin feeling silky.

Ban Roll-On Deodorant ($4.99 USD) — Traditional antiperspirant/deodorants merely mask odors and reduce odor-causing sweat in general, while Ban’s breakthrough technology specifically targets and virtually eliminates odor that other antiperspirant/deodorants may leave behind. Ban Roll-On Deodorant glides on easily with a formula that provides an outstanding 24 hours of invisible protection against odor wetness.

What I think: I have this in Powder Fresh, and it smells nice, but this deodorant isn’t strong enough for me. I need clinical strength. But my daughter can use it and although she prefers stick deodorants, she likes this one. It works well.

My Beauty Favorites — Week of April 3 – 9, 2017

It is warm and sunny today in Kansas City! I’m happy that spring is here and that it isn’t raining for a minute!

My faves this week include a shimmery illuminator, a body was infused with beer, and hair products that give volume.

What I think: First of all, the compact is gorgeous! The jewels in the compact are really pretty. When it’s opened, the compact has a plastic cover to keep the cream protected. The cream it’s gives a nice shimmer to the cheekbones, under the eyebrow, or wherever I need a glow.

BRÖÖ Craft Beer Barber Hydrating Shower Session ($5.97 at Walmart ) A wash that’s perfectly balanced to gently cleanse and nourish the hair, body, face, and beard? Yes! What I think: A great way to get volume, tilt hair away from head and spray the Pronto spray from roots to ends. The Pronto powder works well on separated sections of hair, lightly squeeze onto the root of each section and massage into scalp for mega volume at roots. The Teasing Dust can be sprinkled directly onto roots in wide section of hair from the front of the head. For added texture, work product through hands, then rake through hair. These are lots of ways to created lots of volume in flat hair!

My Beauty Favorites — Week of March 27- April 2, 2017

It has been a rainy spring week in Kansas City. We had a really dry winter, so I guess this is okay. But, I am looking forward to warm, sunny days!

This week I have been loving skin care that protects from the elements and amazing scented spring body care products:

What I think: Both of these collections smell amazing, but I think the Comice Pear & Wild Honey is my favorite, I use the hand lotion every day. Both of these fragrances are so original!

My Beauty Favorites — Week of March 20-26, 2017

How is your spring going so far? Last week was spring break for my kids (and me, I took a week off) and now it’s back to the grind!

My favorites this week are new probiotic skincare, calming bubble bath, bed and body mist, and a night time face mask. All of these products sooth and calm me as I go back to work:

The cleanser is so gentle on my skin, and the day and night cream is the perfect multi-tasker. Take it on trips, because its perfect for any time of the day hydrating.

Spa @ Home by Masque Bar sleeping Mask with Lavender ($19.99 USD) — This overnight sleeping mask, enriched with Lavender Extract, Aloe, Witch Hazel and Plant derived ingredients, will help relieve dry, irritated skin and leave it feeling brighter and moisturized.

What I think: This is kind of a rescue mask for when skin is dry and irritated. My skin is always irritated during allergy season, and luckily this mask works well with my sensitive skin. The next morning, my skin is glowing and feels really soft.

Kneipp Lavender & Vanilla Aromatherapy Bubble Bath ($15 USD) – Treat yourself to a moment of relaxation with the Kneipp Bubble Bath. What I think: This smells amazing! Very soothing. And the bright blue color makes my daughter want to take a bath at night. I love how this is natural and good for her as well.

Rituals The Ritual of Dao Bed & Body Mist ($25 USD) – This Bed & Body Mist promotes restful sleep and meditation, containing the calming ingredients of white lotus and soothing yi yi ren. Use it on your skin or sheets to make them smell like a dream. The fragrance of white lotus and yi yi ren will help you find that moment of peace and tranquility we all crave.

What I think: If you haven’t tried Rituals products before, do it for the amazing fragrances (as well as the natural ingredients)! This sent is so heavenly, it’s calming and perfect for evening. I spray this on my pillow, but it is great on the body, too.

This smells amazing! Clean like Pure Grace, but it really smells like you’re at the beach. Since I moved from Oregon to the mid-west years ago, I don’t get to the beach as often, but this smells like I’m there!

Pure Grace Dry Shampoo ($24 USD) –haircare just got more graceful–thanks to the newest member of the pure grace family. now, crisp and infinitely clean florals meet the style-extending power of the salon to instantly cleanse, volumize and texturize – leaving hair touchably soft. The fragrance of this spray is very floral, almost tropical. It’s strong, but fades quickly. I like that this doesn’t leave a powdery residue and give my hair volume.
