Back To School Beauty!

School has started and fall is on the way! I am really looking forward to cooler weather (hopefully soon, it was about 85 in Kansas City today).

So what type of beauty products are great picks for back to school? I have been sent the following products for my honest review, and I am loving them! They include a powerhouse face cream, shampoo and conditioner that continues hydrating hair, invigorating body washes and gorgeous grey nail polishes:

I hope everyone had a great, long weekend! It is still very hot in Kansas City, but I am looking forward to the autumn and cooler weather!

What I think: These cool new tools make my eyes look amazing! I like the curler, but it does take some getting used to. The rubber pad is big and it makes it a little tricky to grab my lashes. But once I do, it curls my lashes nicely. And speaking of lashes, the lash separator helps remove clumps after mascara application. I have never seen anything like this, but it’s really easy to use because it fits the shape of my eyes.

The tweezers are perfect for removing those little hairs that evade — and also work well with my husbands splinters!

My Beauty Favorites — Week of August 22-28, 2016

Since school has started for my kids, I find that I have a bit more time for relaxation.

This week I have been loving products that work well for a relaxing bath or hot shower. They include a mood setting candle, relaxing bubble bath, luxe shower gel with gold and shampoo and conditioner to thicken my hair:

C.O. Bigelow Musk Scented Candle ($42 USD) — Light the lead-free wick and the cult-classic fragrance of C.O. Bigelow Smooth Musk Perfume Oil permeates the air. What I think: Another sultry scent, this luxe body wash has little flakes of gold in it. The scent seems unisex to me, because it is a bit spicy. It lathers well and leaves skin soft. Great for the whole family!

I have been sick this week with a fever and cold. I am starting to feel better, but it is a slow process!

Stay Fresh Through The Summer Heat!

Today was the hottest day of the week in Kansas City. I think it’s got up to 97, but with humidity, it felt much hotter!

Keeping my skin and hair fresh is not easy on a day like today. Fortunately, I have been sent some amazing products for my honest review that help me beat the heat and stay going!

KORRES Pomegranate Cleansing & Make Up Removing Wipes ($15 USD) — These oil-free face wipes remove eye and face make-up, dirt and oil while also providing skin with mattifying, toning, pore-minimizing and moisturizing benefits. What I think: I love using Alterna products because they work so well in my hair. These products in particular are amazing for the summer because they condition, volumize and protect my hair. The CC Cream is a popular product and I can see why, it has transformed my hair. It’s made it so soft and bouncy! I spray the volume mist at the roots of my hair when it’s damp, dry it and I have so much volume. Plus the heat protection spray is a must with hair dryers and straighteners.

My Beauty Favorites — Week of July 25-July 31, 2016

Summer is still going strong in Kansas City. I love using products that are good for my skin during the hot months. I love natural products with moisturizing ingredients.

My faves this week include lovely lavender products, a wild rose facial peel, a creamy body scrub and a hydrating foot mask:

I really try to keep my feet soft in the summer, but it’s hard in the weather, wearing sandals, etc. I left these on for about a half an hour and rubbed in the excess serum. My feet were smooth and soft!

My Beauty Favorites — Week of July 18-24, 2016

This week I have been trying lots of great products sent to me for my honest review. There is amazing skin care, hair care and body care out there right now and I love discovering new products!

My faves this week include a hydrating toner, conditioning shampoo, luxe body lotions and amazing face masks:

It is hot, hot, hot in Kansas City! I try to stay inside as much as possible, but I do have to go out to run errands.

I’d say that in Missouri, we are in the dog days of summer! It is hot and humid. My skin is being abused by the heat and the dry air inside.
