My Beauty Faves Week of February 2-8, 2015

It was such a beautiful weekend in Kansas City! The temperature was in the 60’s and 70’s! My husband said that the weather is giving us a false sense of Spring, that it will be cold again soon. He is probably right…but it is still nice!

This weekend I am loving a skin treatment that instantly makes me look younger, amazing hair care and color, gel-infused slippers and a portable humidifier. Even though it seems like Spring, it is still Winter and I have to keep taking care of my skin and hair!

Roloxin Lift ($110 for ten sachets and $270 for 30) — Roloxin Lift is formulated to quickly repair, reduce and prevent the signs of premature aging and environmental damage in just minutes! What I think: This is an interesting product. You apply it and it turns white and tight on the skin. Then you rinse it off after about 7 minutes. Once it is rinsed off, it tightens skin and holds for about 24 hours. I did notice my pores were smaller and my wrinkles less noticeable. But, it irritated my sensitive skin and looked like a sunburn when I rinsed it off. the redness faded after a while. I think that if you have sensitive skin, this may not be for you. But if your skin is not sensitive, try it! It works very well.

Schwarzkopf ULTÎME has officially landed in the United States! Rolling out exclusively in Walmart stores this month, the 74 SKU collection (consisting of care, styling, and color) is the first hair care brand exclusively developed with beauty icon Claudia Schiffer. What I think: I have tested the Omega Repair & Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner ($6.97 each) and the color ULTÎME hair color ($9.97 USD) in Cappucino Brown. The shampoo and conditioner left my hair soft and even a bit thicker. And the hair color was easy to use, plus left my hair very shiny! It contains pearl essence for the extra shine.

Geluxury Slippers ($39.95) — During the winter, there’s nothing like slipping feet into a cozy pair of slippers. What I think: These slippers are an easy way to keep feet soft all year long. Just slip them on and the treatment begins. When you slip your feet into them, they are first a bit cool and slick, but you get used to it. When you remove the slippers after wear, feet are much softer.

My Beauty Faves Week of January 19-24, 2015

This week, I’m all about taking care of my skin and hair. It seems like during the winter, my skin and hair needs extra help.

What I think: I have been using the Face cream in the morning before my sunscreen. I love the texture, it is creamy without being greasy. It also gives my face a glow. I have only been using it for a short time, but I hope it helps with sagging skin (that’s my main anti-aging issue at the moment.) The mask is a cool idea. It feels nice when applied and my skin is super soft the next morning.

What I think: This is so super hydrating and smells fantastic! I noticed that it does remove buildup and leaves my hair clean without stripping my color or the moisture. I can actually go without conditioner with this, but I use a little when my hair is very dry.

My Beauty Faves Week of January 12-18, 2015 — SkinnyStix, Emjoi, Korres, Smashbox and Lumene

It was a beautiful day in Kansas City today! Over 50 degrees and sunny, so my family and I went to the Kansas City Zoo. I sure got my FitBit steps in today and am feeling great! The products that I am loving this week include a drink to help give me energy, a fantastic pedi tool, a moisturizing body butter, hydrating face powder and capsules to make my skin glow.

What I think: This works so well! It is very easy to use, just roll it over the rough patches of your feet and in a few minutes you get soft, smooth feet! My feet are usually so dry and rough during the winter, but they look summer ready now!

To use, apply Argan Cleansing Oil evenly over dry face. Then, wet the face and massage into a rich milk. Rinse thoroughly. Massage argan oil into skin, hair, and/or nails to help moisturize face, treat split ends, and/or condition cuticles. Shake Argan Matchmaker Foundation Serum well and then use the foundation brush to apply to the face. Sweep Argan Color Stick over the apples of the cheeks and blend toward the temples. Apply to lips for a soft flush of hydrating color.

What I think: This set of natural skin goodies really can make you glow! The argan oil is good for your whole body, the cleanser gets all of the makeup off and the beautiful color skin makes cheeks and lips naturally rosy.

But, the start products for me is the Matchmaker Serum Foundation and the foundation brush. I have been wanting to try the foundation since it was released. The foundation I have been using is a little dark for my skintone, so I had to mix it with lighter concealer. Josie’s serum foundation is a perfect match and easily covers discoloration and redness. I squirt a little on the back of my hand and dip the brush in it and paint it on my face. I like to start under my eyes and move to my cheeks, forehead, chin and nose and blend, blend, blend! It starts out white and turns into my natural ivory shade. You can order the set in Fair/Light, Light/Medium (my shade) and Medium/Dark. I was afraid that Light/Medium would be a little too dark, but it adjusted perfectly. This may be my holy grail foundation!

It’s a new year! And it is so cold and dry in Kansas City! Brrr!

What I think: This is great tospritz on the face after washing and beforemoisturizers and during the day for a pick me up. It is very refreshing and smells minty!

And the face and neck oil keeps my parched skin soft without being greasy.

Now for something different, and sweet. Snappers Crunchy and Salty and Sweet Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel ($9.99 USD for a 24 oz. bag at COSTCO) — These are the perfect blend of smooth dark chocolate, creamy caramel, and crunchy pretzel topped with a hint of sea salt.

What I think: These are so yummy! The crunchy pretzels topped with the soft caramel rich dark chocolate are paired with a pinch of salt. They are delicious and you need only one or two at a time to tame sweet cravings!
