Project Pan April-June 2018

IMG_0744.JPG

I’m doing another Project Pan!  It’s my second one ever and the second one this year.  I’m going to do quarterly Project Pans in 2018 and see how it goes.

My first one (you can read about here)

IMG_0745.JPG

I included makeup this time!  I don’t have any pressed powder products, and don’t know when I will.  I’m not close to pan on any pressed shadows, blushes, bronzers etc, because I have so many and like to use different products every day.

Starting with my much loved Maybelline Fit Me! loose powder.  I have recently purchased a new powder (and new foundation and concealers)  and want to start trying them, so I need to use this up.  I’ve been using it for months.  Same with the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Lines foundation and Bye Bye Under Eye concealer.  I received all of these in the fall and have been wearing them on and off.  It’s time to finish them.  They are all so nice and I have been loving them.

I was looking through my stash and saw that I hit a little pan on my ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Reversible.  I’m going to try to top off my eye looks with this and maybe even use it as a highlighter.

IMG_0746

I also have a body lotion and and hair glossing cream.  The Philosophy Snow Angel smells so good.  It’s a fresh floral scent and is actually really nice for spring.  I received it before Christmas and I haven’t used it up because it is thick and hard to squeeze out of the bottle.  I need to leave it on it’s side to be able to use it.

The Oscar Blandi Glossing Cream smells amazing! I use it on wet hair to make it manageable and on dry hair for shine. I’ve had it for a while. It’s close to being finished.

IMG_0747.JPG

The majority of the pan is skincare.  These are the first three products I need to use up.  The Ofra Peptide Cleanser is about half full, the H2O+ Waterbright moisturizer is about 3/4 full and I’m not sure about the Neocutis night cream.  I’ve had these since last summer/fall so it’s time to use them up!

IMG_0748

Here are the last three products!  The eye hope is about half full.  The Reclaim Botanical neck cream and the Perfectly Posh the ritual mask have both only been used a few times.  I need to start using neck cream every day again and I need to give the mask a good try!

I will be doing the first update at the end of April.  Wish me luck!

Are you doing a Project Pan this year? How’s it going?

Pixi Beauty + Dulce Candy Collaboration

IMG_0775

Happy Saturday!  I’m happy to share with you the new Pixi Beauty and influencer Dulce Candy.    I was sent this for my honest review.  Let’s check these palettes out!

img_0776.jpg

img_0777.jpg

Pixi Beauty Cafe con Dolce ($24 USD) — Here is the description from Pixi website:

Bring out your natural beauty and enliven your complexion, lids and cheeks with this multi-use palette. Powder to cream blush, face glow, and lid hues enhance & add luminosity. Swish on these gorgeous shades to recreate Dulce’s stunning looks!

Here are swatches of the palette:

img_0718.jpg

The texture of these powders are very creamy.  I like to apply them with my fingers.  They work well as a highlighter or eye shadow.  There are so many shades to choose from, too.  My only issue  is that most of these are too dark to use as a highlighter on my light skin.

Here is Dulce’s new lip palette:

IMG_0778

img_0780.jpg

Dulce’s Lip Candy ($24 USD) — I’ve been wanting a lip palette.  This one is:

A universally flattering assortment of shades curated by Dulce applies easily & adheres smoothly, adding velvety rich colour to both lips and cheeks. This multi-use formula contains antioxidants and minerals to keep skin soft and hydrated.

Swatches of the lip palette:

IMG_0725

I really like this palette.  I’m a nude and light pink lipstick girl, and there are so many great soft shades in this.  I like to use a lip brush for application, and it also works for mixing colors.  The finish of this palette is semi-matte.  It’s fairly hydrating but not super moisturizing.  I only wish this palette had a mirror.  It would make it easier to do lips on the go!

Have you tried either of these or any of the other Pixi Beauty collaborations?

Say Yes To New Scrubs and Masks!

I’ve been blogging for a very long time — almost 10 years!  Yes to was one of the first brands I received for review, and I still love using them.  They were only Yes to Carrots at that time.  But boy, have they grown!

I have been sent some amazing masks and scrubs to test for my honest review.  I have to say, they have so many unique products out right now.  The packaging is really fun, too.  Here are the ones that stood out to me:

YES TO SUPERBLUEBERRIES RECHARGING GREEK YOGURT & PROBIOTICS 3-IN-1 MASK, SCRUB & CLEANSER
Yes To Superblueberries Recharging Greek Yogurt & Probiotics 3-IN-1 Mask, Scrub and Cleanser

Yes To Superblueberries Recharging Greek Yogurt & Probiotics 3-IN-1 Mask, Scrub and Cleanser ($15.99 MSRP) — This was one of my favorite masks or scrub of the bunch!  I really tried to read the descriptions and instructions, but didn’t succeed on all of these.  For this one I saw Greek yogurt as an ingredient and thought it was going to be a smooth, hydrating mask (yes I know that the name of it includes scrub)!

This is creamy, but it also has little scrubbers in it to gently exfoliate the skin.  I used the included spoon to apply and spread product all over my face and it was mess-free.  I left it on for about 15 minutes, rinsed it off and my skin was so smooth!

Yes to Cotton ANTI-POLLUTION OXYGENATED Facial Mask
Yes to Cotton Anti-Pollution Oxygenated Facial Mask

Yes to Cotton Anti-Pollution Oxygenated Facial Mask ($15 MSRP) — This is a great quick mask that is very easy to use! It is a lightweight mask that starts bubbling on contact. Once the bubbles pop in about 10 minutes, it’s time to rinse off.

This is perfect for my allergy-prone, ultra-sensitive skin.  It has cotton extract and oxygen and it leaves my skin very soft and ready for makeup, bedtime, anything!

YES TO CARROTS VITAMIN-ENRICHED KALE DIY POWDER-TO-CLAY MASK
Yes To Carrots Vitamin-Enriched Kale DIY Powder-to-Clay Mask

Yes To Carrots Vitamin-Enriched Kale DIY Powder-to-Clay Mask ($15.99 MSRP — This is a 100% Vegan skin treatment with Kale and carrots.

I’ve used it once, but was not paying attention to the instructions! I mixed all of the powder with water in the container, instead of just a bit in the lid as I should have!  So it can’t be used again.  That’s okay for me, because it really irritated my skin!  I left it on for 10 minutes until the clay was dry, but once I washed it off, my face was so red! I’m glad I did it at night.  It was better in the morning, but my pores were still enlarged.  I wouldn’t recommend this for those with sensitive skin, but to those with normal skin types, go for it.  My skin was soft afterwards.

YES TO GRAPEFRUIT VITAMIN C GLOW-BOOSTING SNAPMASK STICK
Yes To Grapefruit Vitamin C Glow-Boosting Snapmask Stick

Yes To Grapefruit Vitamin C Glow-Boosting Snapmask Stick ($15.99 MSRP) — This is another really quick and easy mask, it only takes 5 minutes!  I like to use this before I get in the bathtub.  It dries down on the face and is really easy to wash off.  Skin  is bright and smooth after use!

YES TO COCONUT ENERGIZING COFFEE 2-IN-1 SCRUB & CLEANSER STICK
Yes To Coconut Energizing Coffee 2-In-1 Scrub & Cleanser Stick

Yes To Coconut Energizing Coffee 2-In-1 Scrub & Cleanser Stick ($9.99 MSRP) — This last one is not a mask, but a scrub I love using in the morning. It has coconut and coffee iand i fun and easy to use.

I apply this on damp skin, rub it in and rinse off.  It’s very hydrating, plus it exfoliates well, too! I really like this in the morning, ask it gets my skin ready for makeup!

Have you tried any of these cool new products?  What do you think:

New Target Beauty Box Reviews

IMG_0752

Last week Target had four new limited edition beauty boxes for sale online.  I guess these have been available for purchase at some Target stores, but they decided to sell them online, too.  Each box was $7.

I chose two of the boxes to purchase, the Treat Yourself box that contains pampering bath, body and face products and the Wakeup and Makeup box that has makeup and other products to help you start the day. These two are no longer available online, but they are available at stores near me, so you might be able to pick one up.  Luckily, the other two boxes are still available online. They are Be YOU(tiful) and All the Masks.  Check them out!

I want to share what was in each box.  First is the Treat Yourself:

img_0760.jpg

IMG_0759

img_0758.jpg

  • Olay Regenerist Whips
  • Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia
  • ME!Bath Bath Bomb
  • Bodycology Free & Lovely Coconut & Rose Body Butter
  • Luxe by Mr. Bubble Bath Meltaway
  • Honest Beauty Refreshingly Clean Gel Cleanser
  • Dr. Teals Pink Himalayan Foaming Bath

I chose this box because I wanted to try the Olay Whips and my family love to take baths, so the bath products are a win, too.  I’ll probably give the Burt’s Bees balm away because I don’t wear dark colors, but I will probably try everything else!

Here is the Wakeup and Makeup Box:

img_0764.jpg

IMG_0766

  • e.l.f. Beautifully Bare Blending Brush
  • e.l.f. Beautifully Bare Face Palette
  • Sonia Kashuk Brush Cleansing Wipes
  • Dove Dry Spray Invisible Sheer Fresh
  • Dove Dry Shampoo Coconut
  • COVERGIRL Peacock Flare Mascara 785 Extreme Black
  • Honest Beauty Refreshingly Clean Makeup Remover Wipes

This is my favorite of the two boxes.  This was only $7!  The two elf products together are $14 — $6 for the brush and $8 for the palette. So for me those made the box worth it.  But there is also a mascara, deodorant and other goodies that make it such an amazing deal! I’m looking forward to playing with the products!

Have you picked up any of these boxes?  If so, which ones?

March 2018 Beauty Favorites

IMG_0740

It’s so crazy that it’s already April!  March went by so fast!  I did enjoy trying new products and I have lots more to test and review.  I’m always looking for new favorites. Here are the ones I used again and again in March:

Makeup Revolution Reloaded Palette in Newtrals 2.  ($7 USD).  I talked about this in an ULTA haul, and I still haven’t swatched and reviewed it.  My bad! I am going to try to review it in the next week or two.  I can say that this is so pigmented and the colors are gorgeous, especially the shimmers. I think that it is definately worth the price and am looking forward to trying more Makeup Revolution eye shadows.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads (12.99 USD) — I have been using this for weeks now and I have been loving how my skin looks!  It includes 60 radiance-boosting pads, soaked in exfoliating glycolic acid (2.8%) retexture + resurface skin whilst witch hazel helps to tone. Also includes hyaluronic acid + soothing blue daisy helps to reveal brighter + smoother looking skin. I use this once or twice a day and love how smooth my skin is! It helps my makeup to apply more evenly, too!

IT Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Hydrating Color Awakening Lip Treatment Serum — I recieved this in a TSV kit on QVC.  It is infused with butters, oils, hyaluronic acid, and antioxidants.  It starts out very light pink, then adjusts to a bright pink on my lips.

Zoella Beauty Sweet Inspirations ($12.95): This is inspired by the sweet scent of macaroons.  To me, it smells like vanilla and is a warm scent.  It smells so yummy and I love wearing it for work because it isn’t overly floral or cloying.

Jane Iredale Limited Edition Snap Happy Makeup Kit ($58 USD) — This is a cute little makeup stack that includes:

PureMatte® Finish Powder – translucent
Whisper PurePressed® Blush – shimmery peachy pink
Brown Sugar PurePressed® Eye Shadow Triple – warm brown, shimmery peach, shimmery copper eggplant

I love all of these products and they work well together.  The powder is translucent and works well as a finishing powder.  The blush is light and a little sparkly, nice for spring and summer.  These are all shimmery and so nicely pigmented.  This kit will be good for traveling, too.

Julep No Limits  ($24 USD) — This creme can be used on face, hands or body.  I like to keep this in my purse.  It’s so hydrating for my hands.  I think it would be to heavy for my face.  I received this in my November 2017 Julep Maven box.

What were your most reached for products this month?

Project Pan January-March 2018 Final Results

IMG_0738Hi everyone! I finished my first Project Pan!  You can read about the start of it here and my update here. I started this in January to focus on using up some skincare I’ve had for a while.

I began with ten products, but used most of them up quickly. So I added a few more at the end of January. I didn’t do a check in at the end of February because I thought I was  almost done. But I had a Pur Cosmetics mask that took longer to use up than I thought it would.

I’m not going to list the products here, but you can go back to my original posts to see what was included.  I used up all of the products in the photo above and am pretty proud of myself!

The big thing I got out of doing this is that I made sure to use the products every day.  Before this,  I hadn’t been great about removing makeup and using my skincare at night.  I now take of my makeup and use my skincare almost every night and I think my skin looks better!  I also make sure to use skincare, including one with SPF in the morning, too.

I’m going to start another 3 month Project Pan this weekend.  This time, I’m going to include some other products as well as skincare.  Probably not any pressed powders yet, because I’m not even close to pan on any of my eye shadows, blushes, etc!  But this will help me use up some of my stash!

Have you done or are you doing a Project Pan.  How’s it going?

LUSH Easter Bath Products Review

IMG_0640

Happy Easter!  My daughter and I went to LUSH last weekend and picked up a few new bath products.  We got a couple of Easter bath bombs and some of their new bath oils.

Free Rangers – Purple ($9.95 USD) — This is a huge bath bomb that splits into two halves and we used it for two baths (my daughter took the head)! It has bergamot oil and blackcurrant absolute perfume. You can also get this in orange and blue. This is a very frothy bath bomb! It turned the water bright pink and left my skin so soft!

Golden Egg ($7.95 USD) — This is so glittery!  Bergamot and sweet, wild orange oils help to tone and brighten the skin.  This is more of a bath melt than a bomb.  It released a lot of glitter at first, then just kind of floated. It did fizz a little and it smelled really good.  But if you are looking for a super fizzy bomb, this is not it. LUSH has a lot of amazing bath bombs, though.

Delight ($6.95 USD) — The bath oils slowly melt into the water and leave skin very soft.  This one is silver and blue and includes organic jojoba oil and fair trade organic shea butter.

Happy Thoughts ($5.95 USD) — This peachy-orange oil softens my skin with cocoa and shea butters. Also contains Himalayan rock, Brazilian orange oil and neroli oil tones.

Mmmelting Marshmallow Moment ($5.95 USD) — Fair trade cocoa butter and coconut oil are in this slowly melting oil.  It is two-toned vivid pink and golden yellow and smells like cotton candy.

The Easter products are still available to purchase at www.lushusa.com.  Have you tried any of these or the bath oils?

Rimmel London Magnif’Eyes Eyeshadow Palette Colour Edition

IMG_0706
Rimmel London Magnif’Eyes Eyeshadow Palette Colour Edition

Hi everyone!  I am excited to be sharing some new products I have been receiving and purchasing for review.  I have been trying so many new makeup and skincare this spring and am excited to let you all know about it.  First up is an affordable and colorful eye shadow palettes.

I was recently sent the Rimmel London Magnif’Eyes Eyeshadow Palette Colour Edition for my honest review. Its a fairly new palette and retails for around $8.99 USD.

The claims are: 12-shade palette for multiple eye looks & eye shapes.

  • Eye contour palette with duo applicator.
  • A mix of high-shimmer and matte shades, perfect for sculpting, shading and defining
  • Rich, intense, long-lasting colour
  • Crease-proof. Smear-proof. Wears all day.

Here’s a close up of the palette:

IMG_0707

First, this is really pretty.  The first half of the palette has neutral colors, and the last half is brights and jewel tones.

img_07111.jpg

IMG_0712

This is really pigmented.  Most of the colors are shimmers.  I love shimmers, but I would like a few more mattes.  I think maybe a light matte color for all over the lid and a great matte transition shade would be amazing.  But, this can be used with other palettes to fill in the gaps.  The colors that are here are fun and blend well.

I haven’t wore them all day yet, but they do seem to last a long time and look fresh. They have been crease and smudge proof on me.

Have you tried this palette or any  eye shadow from Rimmel London?  What do you think?
