China Glaze Crackle — The Hot New Nail Trend de Jour!

China Glaze Crackle

Looking for the hot new nail trend for 2011? Two-toned nails with a “crackled” top coat, is the it thing right now.  And you can do it yourself with China Glaze Crackle polish (8.00 USD)! China Glaze brings a whole new level to the game with “Crackle” polish! Create endless edgy looks and make a statement with fun, fearless, color. Everyone has asked for it, and now China Glaze is giving it to them! The six different Crackle colors include:

Lightning Bolt – White Crackle
Black Mesh – Black Crackle
Broken Hearted – Pink Crackle
Cracked Concrete – Grey Crackle
Fault Line – Purple Crackle
Crushed Candy – Teal Crackle

An innovative technology allows you to play with a wide array of color combinations and achieve an edgy, new wave look. This unique formula was developed to give your nails a “crackled” design over traditional nail color. Contrasting colors are used one over another to achieve a deconstructed shatter look that takes place right before your eyes. Instant art for your nails!

How do you do it? It’s easy! Apply your favorite China Glaze glitter, shimmer or crème. Depending on the color you are using, apply either one or two coats for full coverage. When the colored enamel is dry, brush on a thin layer of the Crackle color. Allow the Crackle to work its magic during dry time. After approximately 5 minutes when the crackled design has completely formed, apply a top coat to seal the design for prolonged wear.

I applied China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint (a soft mint green from the Up and Away collection), let it dry completely, and applied Cracked Concrete over it. It works almost like magic as it shatters apart right before your eyes! Once that dried, I applied a top coat to seal the look. It lasted almost a week! Remember to apply a thin coat so it cracks apart easier. This is a really cool look, not too office friendly (unless you work at a casual office like I do), but perfect for night out!

China Glaze is free of DBP, toluene, and added formaldehyde.

China Glaze nail lacquers are available through salons and professional beauty supply stores nationwide. For more information, visit: www.chinaglaze.com or follow China Glaze on Twitter: http://twitter.com/ChinaGlaze

Right now I am loving Sugar Plum. It is bright and shiny, which is perfect for the holiday season. Afterwards, I can see my self wearing Sangria or Talon for the rest of the winter. Jessica Nails Fall 2010 Muse Collection

Jessica Nails Fall 2010 Collection

Yay its fall! The air is already cooler and crisper in Kansas City. It is still to warm to wear a jacket or boots, but I still am celebrating the change of season by switching to darker, Autumnal nail colors.

JESSICA Nails has released a beautiful collection that optimizes the trends of the season. The colors are:

Victorian Crush – Pale Green

Crimson Reflection – Ruby Brown

Majesty Blue – Metallic Blue

Scarlet – True Red

Intrigue – Mauve

Bittersweet – Caramel

The first color I was drawn to was Intrigue. It’s a grayish-mauve and is so flattering on. It is also right on trend as is Victorian Crush, an olive-green.  If you want to make a statement, try Majesty Blue. It is so pretty on fingers or toes.

Each Nail Colour retails for $7.50 USD. JESSICA Nail Colours can be found at salons nationwide and at www.JessicaCosmetics.com. Enjoy

Perfect Formula Perfect Color Nail Lacquer Fall 2010 Collection

The new Fall 2010 Perfect Color Nail Lacquer collection ($15.00 USD each) from Perfect Formula has beautiful colors that are perfect for the season.“The fall color palette is all about rich hues that add instant sophistication, yet a pop of pizzazz. There is no need for sparkles when you have these dazzlers adorning your manicure,” says Shari Gottesman, founder of Perfect Formula. “And the best part about these colors is that they are universally flattering to all skin-tones – not something you can say about metallic blues and glittery golds.”

The art-inspired collection, which ranges from light to dark greiges, a rainbow of plums and a show-stopping emerald, are the perfect accessory to any fall ensemble.

CUBIST: A divinely deep gray-brown, which reveals a surprise purple-ish tint when hit by natural sunlight!
DECO: A perfect marriage of pink and plum results in this to-good-to-be true berry hue.
FUTURIST:  This slightly gray, yet slightly lavender lacquer is nothing short of 100% drop dead gorgeous.
POP ART: A stunning emerald-green that’s almost as good as the real thing!
AVANT GRAY: This true-to gray color is the no fail choice when it comes to the ultimate fashion-forward color.
POST MODERN: A deep plum that a little bit rock star, a little bit uptown girl and a whole lot of awesome.

What I think: This is quality nail polish that lasts a few days without chipping (a week with a great top coat) and the colors are beautiful. I try a lot of different types of polish, but I find that although these shades are a bit trendy, they are also very wearable. I love the Cubist, because it seems to change colors when I step outside. And Pop Art is very fun with this season’s grays, blacks and browns.
