OPI’s Bright Pair Collection

OPI's Bright Pair Collection
OPI's Bright Pair Collection

It’s almost summer, which means time to get your toes done! During sandal season, we all need our toenails (and feet) to look perfect!

For an at home pedicure, a quality nail polish helps. OPI is a leader in polish that is used at home as well as in the salon. Their new Bright Pair Collection ($8.50 USD each), includes six eye-popping shades that correspond with jeans from Paige Premium Denim.

The colors are: No Room for the Blues — a bright sky blue, On the Same Paige — fiery orange red,  Over the Taupe — medium gray- brown, Shorts Story — hot pink, A Grape Fit! — bright lavender, In My Back Pocket — true orange.

Remember, when doing your own pedicure start by scrubbing your feet with a foot or body scrub and follow with a creamy lotion. OPI also has some nice manicure/pedicure products such as their new Papaya Pineapple Scrub, Massage Cream and Mask.,Then trim and paint your nails. Voila — ready for the summer (well, at least your feet will be)!

Visit their website at www.OPI.com for everything you need to pamper your toes!

Cool Company — Sula Beauty

Sula Paint & Peel Trend Collection
Sula Paint & Peel Trend Collection

I love coming across cool companies while searching the Internet or looking through magazines. Sula recently caught my eye with the fresh look of their website  (www.sulabeauty.com) and the interesting products they offer.

A really unusual product that Sula has introduced is Paint and Peel Nail Polish ($10.00 USD) This polish is water-based and does not contain formaldehyde, toluene or phthalates. It is very fun to use, but does start peeling soon after applying. Using the top coat helps a bit. My problem is, I will start picking at a nail at work and in a few minutes, I will not have a bit of polish left! What’s great about these polishes is that they actually smell nice and that they peel off in one strip.

I also really love Sula’s fragrances. They are very fresh smelling, not a strong perfume scent in the bunch!

Sula Discovery Set

A convenient way to try all six of their fragrances is with the Discovery Set ($18.00 USD) This is a box that contains roll-ons of each fragrance; Butterfly Kiss, Stiletto Musk, Vanilla Blossom,  Blackberry Blush, Sun-Kissed Citrus, and Champagne Sugar.

My favorites are are Sun-Kissed Citrus which has notes of tangerine, lemon, orange, grapefruit and bergamot; and Blackberry Blush with notes of ripe blackberry and cassis blended with osmanthus, rose and a hints of soft musk and vanilla.

Here is a description of the kit from the website:

Packaged in a chic magnetic snap-shut box for safekeeping, these mini versions of the Sula Pulse Point Perfumes are 5ml of ultimate on the-go portability.  Adorned with eye-catching motifs and patterns that are distinctly Sula, the undeniably feminine fragrances were expertly designed to be complete when worn solo…heavenly blended with one another.

Sula also has lip glosses, body wash and body lotion. Visit their gorgeous website to discover a store near you to purchase these unique products!

Essie’s Spring 2009 Collection

For this spring, Essie has released a fun collection of six colors to suit every mood. The season’s fresh, flowy fashions (I do love alliteration!) were the inspiration for this line and it “captures the femininity of the season with a fresh, hopeful attitude”.

Here is Essie’s description of each color:

One of a Kind — poppy red kiss

Eternal Optimist — spiced tea rose

Mesmerize — royal va-va blue

Status Symbol — feisty hot pink

Flawless — cherry blossom pink

Lacquered Up — red hot crimson

My favorites are the Eternal Optimist which is a very lovely pinky-beige and One of a Kind which is a really bright red-orange. My 13 year-old daughter of course loves Mesmerize, which I wore the other day and she said it was cool on me! Awesome!

These polishes sell for $9.00 USD each. Essie’s website is  www.essie.com. You can visit it to find a store that carries the products or purchase online. Have fun!

OPI’s South Beach Collection — Get Ready for Bright Colors

OPI nail polishes are such quality products. The colors are beautiful and they last on my nails. This is probably the reason that so many nails salons use them!

Their new spring 2009 collection, the South Beach Collection, just came out in stores. The shades in this collection are mostly bright and sunny, with a few softer shades thrown in for the bright-color shy.  Some of the fun shades are: Paint My Moji-Toes Red, a warm rosy red; Conga-Line Coral, a brilliant orange-y pink;  and Feelin’ Hot-Hot-Hot a fun hot pink.

OPU Done Out in Deco
OPI Done Out in Deco

The color I have is Done Out In Deco, a cool medium lilac that looks great on fingers or toes. It is not as bright as some of the others, and I like that. It can be worn at work and looks fun and professional at the same time.

Ulta has recently advertised this collection, so it is a good place to find it. And I’m sure your local salon carries it, too.

Check out OPI online at www.opi.com and have fun with your nails!
