Look Awake With Three Custom Color Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed!

I have noticed that lately my peepers are looking pooped! The cold air always makes me look tired, plus I am still tired from the holidays and from working out (I am trying to get fit this year). So how can I look awake when I don’t feel awake???

Introducing: Bright Eyed & Bushy Tailed ($37.50) From Three Custom.e Color.  This is a problem-solving duo featuring a new Eye Brightening Eye Shadow and their cult-favorite Light Clarifier Pencil. Here are the descriptions of the products:

Eye Brightening Shadow – This peach-toned shadow counteracts blue undertones that can make eyes look tired. The satin finish subtly reflects light for a fresher, livelier look!
Light Clarifier Pencil – Apply this nude-toned pencil to the lower inner rim of the eye to make them appear brighter, instantly! This shade compliments all skin tones and is water-resistant to last all day long.

I have to say that this system really works! The peach shadow is really pretty and makes my eyes look clearer. If I am just running around, I will wear this alone. If I am going out or to work, I add a brown or green shadow to the crease and outer corner of my eye.  The pencil is a little miracle. I put it in the inner rim of my lower lid and it looks great. But I also put a little under my eyebrow and smudge, I place it in the inner corner of my eyes and even on the cupid’s bow of my lip. It can brighten up so many areas! This is very much a multi-tasking product.

Pur Minerals Holiday 2009

Holiday Trend Alert: Want beautiful party makeup that’s simple but packs a punch! Pur Minerals has gorgeous and good-for-you makeup for a classic look — cherry-red lips, shimmery neutrals on the  eyes and warm, flushed cheeks. To get the look, line your lips with Mineral Lip Pencil with Brush ($16.50 USD)  in Ruby and fill in with Mineral Shea Butter Lipstick ($15.00 USD) in Red Ruby. For extra shine, apply Pür Balm ($16.50 USD). Next, dust your eyelids with Pressed Mineral Shadows($13.00 USD each) in Champagne Citrine and Gold Dust to give eyes a subtle sparkle. Line your lids with Mineral Eye Defining Pencil in Chocolate Mica ($16.50 USD) for extra definition. Finally, apply Universal Marble Powder in Spice ($22.50 USD) for perfectly flushed cheeks.

These products are all beautiful. I tested the lip liner, lipstick and shadows. I think the lip brush on the pencil is brilliant, you can blend your lips after applying pencil so that the line won’t be harsh, or use the brush with the lipstick or a gloss. The lipstick is very moisturizing and is a beautiful red. My favorite products were the shimmery shadows. They are soft, but really make the eyes stand out, because of the shimmer. Wear them with lots of black mascara and the eyes will stand out as much as your ruby-red lips!

Visit to purchase these and other products. They have great gift sets, too, such as a 5 Piece Lucite brush set, eye shadow collections and palettes and lipstick collections — plus many of the holiday items are buy one get one free! Enjoy!

Bobbi Brown Rich Color Lip Gloss

Bobbi Brown Rich Color Lip Gloss
Bobbi Brown Rich Color Lip Gloss

Bobbi Brown Rich Color Lip Gloss ($20.00) is the newest addition to Bobbi’s lip color line. Bobbi says, “The colors are rich enough to make a statement, yet absolutely wearable — and the texture is amazing.”

Rich Color Lip Gloss is a mint flavored gloss that Bobbi’s website touts “offers the look and benefits of three products in one: the full color coverage of a lipstick, the soft shine of a gloss, and the luxurious feel of a balm.”  I agree that you do get full coverage, shine and it feels like a minty balm, as it is a bit tingly on. The colors are soft and pretty, very nice.
The gloss is available in a range of eight shades: Naked, Ruby Red, Pink Raspberry, Merlot, Dusty Rose, Melon, Tutu, Pink Buff — there is a color for everyone.

The Nautical Collection by Bobbi Brown

The Nautical Collection
The Nautical Collection
Bobbi Brown has introduced the Nautical Collection for a sheer summer look. The colors are corals, pinks and mauves and they impart a soft shot of color that is great for warm weather looks!
Sheer Color Lip Gloss ($20.00 USD) — This is a glossy sheer color that looks dark in the tube, but almost clear with a hint of color on. It has a brush applicator, which I love for lip gloss and smells faintly of vanilla. I have Marina Pink, which is cross between fuscia and berry. It is quite pretty on. The gloss is a bit sticky, but the shine is worth it! It is available in 4 colors; Marina Pink, Cabana Coral, Popsicle (bright pinky-red) and Sailor (a softer pink).
Sheer Color Cheek Tint ($22.00 USD) comes in a cute, chubby little tube that fits perfectly in my purse! The product swivels up like lipstick and I like to apply iton the apples of my cheeks, then blend it up with with my fingers. I have Sheer Mauve, but it also comes in 5 other colors:  Sheer Blackberry, Sheer Coral, Sheer Lilac, Sheer Pink and Sheer Raspberry. This is an easy and fast way to get some color this summer!
Perfectly Defined Mascara ($22.00 USD) I have not had a chance to try this product, but the website touts, “This new formula lengthens, separates and curls lashes for perfect definition with one easy sweep. The secret? A unique multi-comb brush and equally innovative formula, working together to enhance each and every lash. The flexible, long-wearing formula doesn’t flake or smudge and stays in place all day long. And best of all, when you’re ready to take it off just use warm water! Available in black, Perfectly Defined Mascara is both Ophthalmologist and Dermatologist tested and is safe for contact wearers.”

Get Flawless Skin with Colorescience

Colorescience is known for “blending the line between colore and science”.  They have some pretty amazing face products and sunscreen.

Colorescience Sunforgettable ($50.00 USD for the brush applicator) – is a mineral powder 30 SPF sunscreen with broad spectrum (UVA and UVB) protection. It comes in four different applicators; a brush, a roll-on a shaker can and a puff. You can purchase it in three shades; All Clear (transparent),  Perfectly Clear (a light shade) and Almost Clear (a medium shade) and you can get matte or sparkle. This is a very innovative sunscreen. They suggest you apply it over your moisturizer, but I have been using the matte Almost Clear as a setting powder over my foundation and/or Line Tamer primer. It is very light (must be the minerals) and does not clog my pores.

Colorescience Line Tamer ($45.00 USD) — is one of the best primers I have tried. The website states (and I enthusiastically agree), “This beautiful yellow mousse smooths on like velvet and sets to absolute perfection. The yellow colore hides red discoloration while the active ingredients promote the actual reduction of redness in the skin.” This not only hides my redness, it smooths over my pores perfectly! I find that when I use it I don’t need a lot of foundation. I just use a little to cover my dark circles and blemishes. The ingredients include Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, oats and oat beta glucan to reduce the appearance of redness, blue algae extract feeds and tightens the skin, beta carotene and vitamin E to nourish the skin plus an antioxidant cocktail of green tea, lavender and tangerine.
