Hi all! I just received my September Allure Beauty Box. The Allure Beauty Box is $15 a month. And you receive deluxe and some full size products. Not bad!
These are the two makeup items I got in my box this month. I’ve never tried a NARS lip product, so I’m excited to use this. I really like the shade.
I’ve heard a lot about the Dewy Stick and it is really nice. It gives a glow without shimmer and it doesn’t emphasize texture.
Here’s a closeup of the skin and hair care. The Nutrafol is a bonus. I don’t take supplements so I will pass it along to someone. I will keep the shampoo and conditioner for traveling.
I’m also going to try the Brightening Facial Scrub. I don’t have a scrub right now and need one. I’ll give the Eczema cream to my daughter.
This was a pretty good box. I’ll use at least half of the products. I liked getting two full sized makeup product, too! Do you get Allure Beauty Box? What did you get this month?
Hi all! I recently resubscribed to Allure Beauty Box. I was subscribed a couple of years ago and decided to give it another go. They were advertising an amazing collaboration box with You Tuber Carli Bybel. Plus $5 off the first box and a free La Mer gift. So they got me!
The Allure Beauty Box is $15 a month. And you receive deluxe and some full size products. Not bad!
I actually received the March box a couple of weeks ago, and thought that’s what they sent instead of the April box. But I just got the April box, too and thought I’d share both.
I didn’t get all of the spoilers that were advertised, but I think it’s a pretty great box.
I have tried Vita Liberata mousses before, but never the cloths. I will try these out and see how I like them.
I haven’t tried this Briogeo product before, but will definitely give it a go. I love heat protection products.
The Luxie Brush is very pretty and soft. I will use that. My daughters usually steal any liquid liners I get, but I might try this out before they find it. I don’t use a lot of liner, but I would like to see how this works.
The first shadow swatch is the Natasha Denona Bronzage, there is also a closer swatch of that below. I think it’s fun how well it goes with the Juvia’s Place palette.
This is my first time trying Juvia’s Place. It’s a cute, mini palette and will be really good for travel. I have tried it and make a complete look with it. It was very nice quality and blended out well.
Here’s a close up of the Natasha Denona Bronzeage. It’s sooooo pretty! I’ve tried it with some of my favorite neutral mattes in the crease and outer corner, and it looks so pretty all over the lid. I think this will be a go to for summer. It’s really soft and buttery, too. I want to buy a larger Natasha Denona palette, but they are very expensive. Maybe in the future…
Here is my March box. I’m not going to show close ups of all of the products, but here’s a group shot:
This is my March box with my La Mer free gift. I received:
I think this is a very good box. Even though I wasn’t expecting it, I’m glad I got it. I’ll use everything except for maybe the ModelCo palette and the brow gel is not in my color. I’ll try everything else.
October is here! It can be a spooky month, but don’t forget to wear your pink!
Of course, you don’t have to wear pink all month to show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but there are some great beauty products to purchase that will help the cause.
If you purchase the products below, some of the proceeds will go to hopefully help defeat this horrible disease:
Morgan Taylor Fight Like a Lady
This October, Morgan Taylor releases their Fight Like a Lady 4-piece mini pack that is sure to pack a pretty punch on your nails. With every purchase, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Mommy & Me Cancer Foundation, whose mission is to support mothers battling life-threatening cancer while raising young children.
Similarly, throughout October, 100% of the revenue from Ouidad’s KRLY Kids collection purchased from Ouidad.com, featuring No Time for Tears Shampoo, Pump & Go Spray Gel and No More Knots Conditioner, will be donated to Curls for a Cure in support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. October isn’t the only month that Ouidad gives back either… year-round, they donate $1 from each KRLY Kids purchase, donating more than $475,000 to BCRF since 2002!
Unite for HER’s mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of women of all ages by supporting and providing breast cancer and wellness programs that educate, empower and restore. To support this mission, ACURE will donate $0.10 per sale of their number one selling Day Cream and Night Cream to Unite for HER for one full year. The partnership begins in July and expands beyond traditional BCA partnerships to keep support and funding going year-round.
ACURE’S Day Cream and Night Cream are available for $16.99 and $17.99, respectively, at acureorganics.com.

Scunci BCA ’15 Sun Visors and Headwraps ($7.99, available at drugstores)
I’ll admit, the thought of using heavy creams and sunscreens when it’s blazing hot is not fun. Luckily, there is amazing skincare that works without making your skin feel like it has a pile of grease on it!
I have been testing some amazing lighter skincare including fresh masks, and after-sun gel, an SPF moisturizer, an eye serum and sheer sunscreen for face and body:
Indie Lee’s Clearing Mask
Indie Lee’s Clearing Mask ($60 USD) — It can be difficult to keep your face hydrated and also clear of blemishes in the hotter months. This mask will simultaneously rehydrate and detoxify your skin, leaving you simply radiant. Its fruit acids will brighten your complexion and with weekly use, you’ll have skin like you’ve started a new facial routine.
What I think: It’s difficult to want to put on a mask when it is hot, because you don’t really want goop on your skin. This mask is refreshing and my skin felt soft, but not greasy afterwards. It was also helped clear up the few blemishes that are on my skin from the summer heat.
Acure’s Cell Regenerating Mask ($12.99 USD) — Get serious cell repair with this mask. French Green Clay draws out impurities while Moroccan Argan Oil, CoQ10 and Seabuckthorn Oil add intense hydration back to the skin.
What I think: This is perfect for stressed summer skin. When I use it, I can feel it working and when I wash it off, my skin is smooth and soft! Great natural product for the price!
Korres Greek Yoghurt After-Sun Cooling Gel ($26 USD) — If you get a burn, don’t let it dry your skin! This is an ultra-cooling cream gel that provides long-lasting freshness and comfort to the face and body. Ideal for after sun exposure, yogurt hydrates the skin, instantly relieving excessive heat and stinging.
What I think: Luckily, I haven’t had a bad burn this summer (it’s too hot to go outside!). But this cream is perfect whenever I have had too much sun and my skin is a bit red and tight. It also works well on my sensitive skin if I have left a peel or mask on too long and my skin is irritated.
VENeffect Anti-Aging Moisturizer SPF 15 ($145 USD) — enhances collagen production, helps reverse sun damage and dramatically improves skin elasticity while offering broad-spectrum protection from harmful UVA/UVB rays. With the ongoing push to work SPF into every day skincare, this product’s lightweight formula is an easy way to ensure skin is protected while still providing the benefits of a true moisturizer and without leaving behind a white cast.
What I think: I love how light this moisturizer is! I apply it after my serum in the morning and since it has SPF, it does double-duty. Plus, it has amazing skincare benefits. I have noticed that my skin is smoother and clearer. I am hoping to see improvements in skin elasticity after I use it for a few weeks.
Available at select specialty beauty retailers and online at VENeffect.com, NeimanMarcus.com, Dermstore.com, SpaceNK.com, CosBar.com and Bloomingdales.com.
Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare Refocus Eye + IR Defense Serum Infusion Eye Treatment ($69 USD) — Diminish tired and puffy eyes with this eye treatment. This potent anti-aging serum is infused with the Bio Copper Complex to reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the delicate eye area while it firms, smoothes texture and tones the skin.
What I think: I have been using this light serum morning and night. It instantly firms the skin around my eyes and helps me look awake! The skin around my eyes also appears smoother.
Lavanila Laboratories The Healthy Sport Luxe Sunscreen for Face and Body
Lavanila Laboratories The Healthy Sport Luxe Sunscreen for Face and Body ($30 USD) — Always stay protected from the sun no matter how hard you’re working. This new generation of mineral sunscreen is infused with SmartSportTM Technology for high performance, ultra sheer protection that resists wear off from water and sweat.
What I think: I am always excited to find a lightweight sunscreen. It is hard to get my kids to use the thick, goopy kind! This is light and sheer. And I like that it resists water, it is great for swimming and outdoor exercise.
