Playing with different makeup brands and shades can really update your look and change your mood. I know trying the lovely shades of makeup below has me really looking forward to spring!

Jouer (zhew-ey) means ‘to play’ in French. This brand has a playful-take on beauty and style, keeping makeup fun and simple. I think that the brand has elegant products in very pretty colors. I have been testing the products in the photo and really enjoyed the fresh look I can achieve with them. The products left to right are:

Luminizing Moisture Tint ($38 USD) — This lightweight moisturizing tint evens out imperfections and fades the appearance of fine lines with its light-diffusing multi-mineral formula. SPF 20 protects from UVA and UVB rays while Ginseng and Gingko Biloba Leaf Extract deliver antioxidants to skin, promoting a healthy complexion. Available in seven skin-matching shades.

What I think: The moisture tint is a beautiful choice if you want a lighter formula foundation. I like how it blends in and looks completely natural. The Tint in Bare (a nude) is really pretty on cheeks and lips for an everyday fresh look. I am loving the Lip Sheer, it gives a soft, matte look that is perfect for spring. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the black finish on the case is coming off and it makes it look like I’ve had it for a very long time, when it is new.

I am a lazy girl. It may be because I have 3 kids, a husband, full-time job and way too many animals — or I might just be a lazy girl at heart.

That’s why I love cleansing wipes! They are so easy, especially at night when I am tired.

The wipes below aren’t only good for removing makeup, some refresh your body after working out or over-heating. And they are fairly inexpensive, too!

What I think: I haven’t used a humidifier for years. I used to live in Oregon, which is pretty moist all year round (rain!). But now that I live in Kansas City, the extremely dry winters are murder. Literally…our grass will remain brown until the rains of spring!

These dry winters make my skin extremely dry. I have noticed that while I run my humidifier I am less itchy and I can breath better. My skin also just feels more comfortable. It is not as tight or dry.

I love that this humidifier is so affordable but makes such a huge difference in the air quality! And it does make a soft white noise sound, but it is not too bothersome.

Keep Hair Looking It’s Best this Winter

My hair has been in a sad, limp pony tail for a few months now. I do need to get it cut, but that won’t solve all of my problems.

As I age, I notice that my hair has been getting dull and thinner. But, luckily, there are lots of great products that can help with aging hair.

Apply a dime size amount of Zero Frizz Hair Serum (Approx. $4.99) evenly onto wet or damp hair and blow dry for added shine. Afterwards, apply a small amount of serum to your ends, for added softness and bounce. Zero Frizz coats the hair before styling, to protect it from heat and allow the natural oils to shine without the frizz.

What I think: I also like to use this on the ends of dry hair to separate and to and shine. Great product and so affordable!

LA Looks Define & Shine Hair Gel ($1.94 at www.walmart.com) – Love the shine of a serum but need the hold of a gel? This advanced formula coats and seals the hair cuticle to tame frizz while offering humidity-resistant resins that help smooth hair and Micro-Crystalline shine enhancers to deliver a luminous shine.

What I think: This is an affordable way to get hold and shine. I suggest that you use very little or it could get sticky. Great on damp hair before drying.

Tired of Winter? Freshen Your Look With Fresh New Makeup

I am wearing sparkling raspberry and gold nail polish for Valentine’s Day. I love the rich colors and the glitz, but I am starting to yearn for warmer weather and softer colors of clothes and makeup!

The inspiration for this collection is that the spring brings a new day, a new beginning and a new you. It’s a time to reinvent yourself with shades that shine and shimmer and colours that cast a happy, youthful glow. The look is warm and fresh tints of colour, with glowing, luminous skin.

What I think: I was lucky to test the Metallic Crème Eye Colour ($23 USD) It is a lightweight, non-greasy, lush metallic formula that floats across the eye leaving a gorgeous, shimmering sheen. I really love the shade Golden Mist. It is a limited edition shade that is so pretty swept across my whole eyelid, with our without a contour color.

Bobbi Brown’s Nude Glow Collection features three sets of products designed to add luminosity and brighten your look during the winter months.

In the above photo, you can see the Limited Eye Palettes in Crystal, Nude and Bronze and the Sheer Lip Color in Pink Flush, Pink Gold and Pink Rose. These are the products from the collection I tested.

What I think: The eye palettes are gorgeous. I love layering a sparkly color over a shimmer or matte. So pretty for going out. The Lip colors are sheer and pretty! I love the Pink Gold, but they are all gorgeous!

Tarte’s spring collection is full of beautiful, fresh hues and products. There are eight beautiful shades of the cheek stain (Fearless, a pink-coral is my favorite) and eight matching shades in the Power Pigment lip crayon. The colors are all gorgeous!

The Spring collection also includes the be MATTEnificent colored clay eye & cheek palette. This includes fresh, pretty colors. I haven’t tried the palette, but I might have to pick it up!

What I think: Beautiful colors for any complexion and the formulas stay all day. Love!

I have been using it with a little concealer and no foundation. But, the liquid foundation is very nice for a more polished look. I love the container it comes in, too! It looks like it should hold powder. But it is liquid, not cream. You apply it with the cool brush that fits in the opening.

I am also enjoying the new eyeliner — very smooth — and the mascara which is one of my favorites.

The new bronzer blush is gorgeous, I can see that it will be a perfect multi-tasker product for summer.

The lip gloss is too bright for me, but it is a gorgeous color!

I love to change personal and home scents for seasons, occasions and even moods. I find that the right fragrance can set the scene for romance, a cozy night in or even a fun night out on the town!

I have received samples of these scents for my honest opinion. While they might not be for everyone as fragrance is subjective, you might find one that you love!
