Keep Hair Looking It’s Best this Winter

My hair has been in a sad, limp pony tail for a few months now.  I do need to get it cut, but that won’t solve all of my problems.

As I age, I notice that my hair has been getting dull and thinner.  But, luckily, there are lots of great products that can help with aging hair.

I was sent the following products for my honest review.  Check them out!

Focus Rejuvenating Shampoo and Conditioner
Focus Rejuvenating Shampoo and Conditioner

We use our proprietary blend of natural herbs, trace minerals and essential amino acids, providing you with a SLS and Paraben free shampoo to maximize the vitality of your hair. Focus shampoo is formulated for all hair types and will not affect chemically treated hair and it is color safe.

FOCUS™ long lasting conditioner gives a rich, luxurious texture and appearance to hair and is designed to deliver necessary moisturizers, natural herbs and essential amino acids that complement the organic effects of FOCUS™ Shampoo. FOCUS™ Conditioner is formulated for all hair types and will not affect chemically treated hair.

What I think:  I love that this pair is color safe and is Paraben-free.  It has a nice herbal scent and the conditioner is very moisturizing.  I haven’t noticed much extra volume with this duo, but my hair does appear healthy and shiny!

Philip B. Russian Amber Imperial Dry Shampoo
Philip B. Russian Amber Imperial Dry Shampoo

Philip B. Russian Amber Imperial Dry Shampoo ($28 USD) — A unique, featherweight treatment that refreshes tired, unwashed hair in minutes so it feels clean and fresh between shampoos. Use it to create gorgeous body and lift anytime. Morning,  noon or night, this product works quickly and effortlessly to absorb excess oil, neutralize unwanted product build-up, and leave dirty hair bouncy and gleaming.

What I think:  For me, dry shampoo is a must to have around on days that you can’t shampoo your hair.  This one has a sexy amber scent and gives volume with the freshness.  LOVE!

Available at www.philipb.com.

Thicker Fuller Hair Thickening Serum
Thicker Fuller Hair Thickening Serum

Thicker Fuller Hair Thickening Serum ($8.99 USD) —  is an essential formula the enriches the hair shaft to build body and strength for incredible volume.

Naturally advanced and formulated with caffeine to prop up the hair strand to invigorate and energize the scalp. Designed for both men and women, Thicker Fuller Hair is formulated with Cell-U-Plex, a synergistic blend of pure plant extracts, vitamins, and protein that infuses that hair shaft to thicken, improving hairs overall vigor to instantly bodify and amplify fine, thin hair!

What I think:  I apply this on damp hair starting at the roots, down to my ends and blow or air dry.  I have noticed that my hair is fuller after it dries and is so soft!

Available at www.folica.com

Zero Frizz Correcting Hair Serum
Zero Frizz Correcting Hair Serum

Apply a dime size amount of Zero Frizz Hair Serum (Approx. $4.99) evenly onto wet or damp hair and blow dry for added shine. Afterwards, apply a small amount of serum to your ends, for added softness and bounce. Zero Frizz coats the hair before styling, to protect it from heat and allow the natural oils to shine without the frizz.

What I think:  I also like to use this on the ends of dry hair to separate and to and shine.  Great product and so affordable!

Available at mass market retailers like KMart and Walmart and at www.folica.com.

LA Looks Define & Shine Hair Gel
LA Looks Define & Shine Hair Gel

LA Looks Define & Shine Hair Gel ($1.94 at www.walmart.com) –  Love the shine of a serum but need the hold of a gel? This advanced formula coats and seals the hair cuticle to tame frizz while offering humidity-resistant resins that help smooth hair and Micro-Crystalline shine enhancers to deliver a luminous shine.

What I think: This is an affordable way to get hold and shine.  I suggest that you use very little or it could get sticky.  Great on damp hair before drying.

Available at mass-market retailers

What are you using on your hair right now?

  1. Love this post! I am using up my old shampoos/conditioners like crazy atm, Not Your Mothers is the one I am almost done with. For dry shampoo I use Oscar Blandi or cornstarch or baby powder. I am dying to try the dry shampoo you mentioned! Thank you for the product recommendations, I always like posts like that!
