My Beauty Favorites Week of July 6-July 12, 2015
It is hot, hot, hot in Kansas City! As I stay inside in the air-conditioning, I am loving trying new products that make my skin — face and body — look great!
This week my faves include an unscented body lotion, hand scrub, a luxe serum and a CC cream that adjusts to my skin tone.

What I think: I love how velvety this lotion is. It absorbs right into the skin and is not greasy at all! And, it is perfect for those who do not like or are allergic to fragrances. It is an affordable way to keep your skin hydrated this summer.

What I think: Such a luxurious serum. You can use this twice a day, but at least use it at night, you wake up with refreshed, radiant skin! I love how the serum sinks into the skin and leaves a lovely glow! I have noticed that my skin looks smoother and firmer.

My Beauty Favorites Week of June 29-July 5, 2015
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! I love this time of year, but it is hot! I love finding fun summer makeup that won’t meltdown and that is on trend.
Below, find some of my new faves that help me achieve an easy and long-lasting summer look:

Palladio The Definer Contour and Highlight Duo ($8 USD) — Two-sided, super-soft contouring jumbo crayon. The perfect tool for defining, refining and highlighting facial features, this unique crayon includes a highlighting shade to illuminate and soften, and a darker contour shade to accentuate and define features.
What I think: Contouring is the big thing right now and I think it can be a great tool to have to make certain areas of the face look thinner. But, if overdone, it can look a little 80’s soap queen! This duo has very soft pencils the blend really easily. It gives a subtle contour that I really like. And it is so affordable. The highlighter is pretty under the eyebrow and on top of cheekbones.

Rodial Instaglam Skin Tint SPF 30 ($45 USD) — A lightweight tinted moisturizer with the added benefit of SPF 30 protection, designed to provide medium, buildable coverage for a flawless, even toned complexion. What I think: This is a nice compo of moisturizer, SPF and color, which is great in the summer when you want to use less products to get out the door faster! It’s very lightweight and sinks in quickly. The coverage is medium, which is perfect for summer. Heavy makeup isn’t fun in the heat!

What I think: I have tried Aloha, which is a sheer red. It’s really pretty, but I was pleasantly surprised at how moisturizing it is. It feels like a lip balm, but really gives a nice color. I love the SPF, too. Burnt lips are no fun!

Polymers help hold styles in place and keep hair glossy and smooth, even in high humidity. The collection also includes TRESemmé Climate Control Shampoo and Conditioner and TRESemmé Climate Control Finishing Spray.
TRESemmé Thermal Creations Instant Heat Tamer Spray ($4.99 USD) — Spray protects hair from heat damage associated with ceramic irons, blow–dryers and other styling appliances. A mixture of conditioning and protecting agents forms a protective barrier on the hair’s surface. It also works to replenish moisture and enhance texture, leaving hair soft and shiny.
TRESemmé® Keratin Smooth Smoothing Crème Serum ($4.99 USD) has a lightweight formula that can be used on damp or dry hair to control frizz and flyaways without weighing hair down. This formula protects hair prior to heat styling, leaving it satiny–smooth all day long. What I think: I use all three of these products (and more including the Keratin Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner) to battle the effects of Kansas City’s humidity. I use the mousse after washing my hair and it does keep the frizz at bay if I air dry or blow dry my hair. I use the spray before I blow dry it for a smooth, dry hair and the serum to tame any flyaways after I dry my hair.
The price is right for all of these products, as they work as well as more expensive, salon products.
