Product Round-Up — My Fave Beauty Things Week of November 10 — 16, 2014

It’s so cold outside in Kansas City…brrr! I try not to go outside in the cold air, but when I do, I can feel my face and lips cracking from the freezing air! So dry!

So, this week I’m loving products that will help my dry and chapped skin. I have been testing great skin care, lip balms and body products to help me for what I hope is not too cold a winter.

My faves are:

Pür Minerals M.M.C. Anti-Aging Moisture Complex ($38 USD) — Feed your skin with anti-oxidants and protect it from free radicals. What I think: Such an amazing natural toner. I love the fresh scent of this and the fact that it doesn’t dry out my skin at all. My skin is softer after using, which is rare from a toner. I highly recommend this product!

What I think: Both of these products are highly moisturizing. The lip butter is not tinted which is perfect for everyday and every night use. It really softens my dry lips. Product Round-Up — My Fave Beauty Things Week of November 3 — November 9, 2014

Today was a beautiful day in Kansas City, in the 6o’s. But it will really start feeling like November this week with highs in the 30’s…brrr!

I am really thinking about giving extra moisture to my skin and getting ready for winter.

I have been loving a very moisturizing CC Cream, a thickening hair collection, eye serum, fab makeup wipes, fun makeup and ingrown hair inhibitor wipes:

Nordic Beauty Broad Spectrum SPF 30 CC Cream ($130 4 oz) — an easy to apply non-greasy, anti-aging, natural coverage, matte Broad Spectrum SPF 30 CC Cream which helps to protect skin from UVA & UVB rays utilizing the safest and most natural form of zinc oxide available without using synthetic sunscreens.

What I think: This is a very luxe, thick cream. It seems like a tinted moisturizer for dry skin more than a makeup to me. It would be perfect for someone who wants a heavier day cream with SPF. It does sink into the skin and leaves a pretty glow.

Product Round-Up — My Fave Beauty Things Week of October 20-26, 2014

It’s Fall…I guess. It’s 85 degrees in Kansas City today. Hot! It is supposed to cool down in a couple of days. I hope so, I’d love to be wearing my fall clothes.

Lately, I have been sent so many fabulous products to test. Below are 5 of my favorites — A refreshing toner, an excellent body butter, a firming neck cream, a natural deodorant and a very cool curling tool.

Korres Pomegranate Toner ($22 USD) — This toner gently exfoliates to remove excess oil and dirt from skin, imparting a tighter, smoother, and more matte finish while helping to reduce redness. Pomegranate extract, rich in tannins and polyphenols, helps tighten pores and rejuvenate the look of skin. Alpine willowherb and witch hazel extract help refine the appearance of pores and provide a matte look to the skin. What I think: Very refreshing and makes my skin smoother. I have noticed that my pores appear smaller. Plus, my skin feels cleaner but not dry after I use it.

What I think: Easily my favorite body cream or lotion at the moment. The texture is light and fluffy like whipped cream, but when I apply it, it sinks right into my skin and leaves it so soft! Plus, it’s not greasy at all. The scent is very clean. LOVE! The whipped shea collection also includes a foaming body was ($20 USD) and a travel sized hand cream ($12 USD).

Regular curling irons don’t always produce the desired results, but being the fixers they are, the pros at Infiniti Pro by Conair designed this device to draw hair in and release consistently beautiful curls.

What I think: I have been wanting to try this since it came out! It looked so cool. And it really is! I have used it on my shoulder-length hair and my daughter’s long hair and it works really well. It take a little practice to position it correctly and to use the correct amount of hair, but once I got it, it was fast and easy! And the curls looked great!

It is truly fall now in Kansas City! It’s definitely sweater weather — in the 50’s and 60’s. And, I know it’s only going to get cooler in the next weeks and months.

What I think: Loving all of these products! Both body washes smell great and clean and moisturize my skin. The dry oil spray is perfect to use after a shower. Leaves skin so soft! The product that was my least favorite is the body lotion, as I’m not a fan of the scent. It’s very soapy, and if you love a clean, soapy scent it might be perfect for you.

Product Round-Up — My Fave Beauty Things Week of September 22, 2014

It has been warm this week, in the 80’s every day. I’m kind of sick of it and am dreaming of cooler weather so that I can wear fall clothes!

I’ve been super busy this week! My friend Lauren is getting married next week and I have been asked to do hers and her fiancé Stephanie’s makeup for the big day. So much fun! (Next week I may do a bridal related favorite things on Saturday and I will be busy on Sunday, wedding day).

So, I just have three fave things this week, but they are all fantastic — a lovely pressed powder, unscented body oil and some great hair products for damaged hair:

What I think: This oil is unscented, which is good for people who do not like their products scented. I actually am a fan of at least a little fragrance in my oils and lotions. It feels more luxurious that way. But, I do find that the oil is nice, especially after a shower. It locks in the moisture.

September sure is going by quickly! Fall is this Tuesday! I thought I would let you know what I am enjoying this week while I drink my iced Pumpkin Spice Latte. It’s almost fall, but it’s still pretty warm outside.

This week, I have been loving a facial mask with wine antioxidants, new shavers, a hydrating hair mask and a new natural bath and body line.

We are a couple of weeks into September and it is cooling down and feeling like fall. I am into pumpkin spice lattes, candy corn and… tropical fragrances! I guess I’m not yet ready to let go of summer.

What I think: This is so easy to use. Just apply it to a dry face, massage it in, add water that will activate the Vitamin C in the gel. Leave it on a minute and rinse off. Skin is so soft and firm! I think I will use this once a week for younger looking skin.

New Fall Offerings From L’Occitane!

I have recently received a wonderful package of new fall L’Occitane products for my honest review. As a fan of L’Occitane, I was so excited!

L’Occitane has introduced a face oil to their luxurious Divine collection, fresh body gels and other soaps to their Bonne Mine Collection and a new bath and body collection called Aromachologie.

I really enjoyed testing these products as they contain natural ingredients that I feel good about applying to my skin.

L'Occitane Divine Oil — L’Occitane Divine Oil

L’Occitane Divine Youth Oil ($96 USD) — This ‘liquid gold’ formula features seven unique plant oils to enhance skin’s overall texture and radiance. To be used both day and night; this luxurious lightweight oil ($96) will give skin a much-needed surge of moisture.

What I think: Love this luxurious oil. I have been using it in place of my night time serum. It is so moisturizing, and once it sinks it, it is not greasy at all. In the morning, my skin is so soft and hydrated.

I have been enjoying the Bonne Mere Lemon Shower Gel ($14 USD) — Enriched with lemon essential oil, this shower gel gently cleanses the body and perfumes it with a zesty and sunny fragrance, transporting you to an early morning stroll through the market of Menton, Provence. Tested under dermatological control.

What I think: This shower gel has such a lovely fresh scent. I have been using it also as a shave gel, and it works really well. Plus, the scent of lemon lingers on my skin. I would love to try it in the other scents, too. The containers are stackable (there is a square indentation on the bottom of the bottle), so you can have a few in your shower and they won’t take up too much space.

Product Round-Up — My Fave Beauty Things Week of August 25th!

My last week of August was hot and exhausting, so glad it’s the long weekend! I have been trying products sent to me for review that are great for the end of summer.

This week I have been enjoying a yummy scented body wash, a night skin treatment, two amazing eye shadow brushes, spray to remove chlorine from hair, tinted brow gel and healthy wheat grass tablets (I am trying to get healthier).

Neutrogena Rainbath Renewing Shower and Bath Gel - Pear and Green Tea — Neutrogena Rainbath Renewing Shower and Bath Gel – Pear and Green Tea

Neutrogena Rainbath® Renewing Pear & Green Tea Shower and Bath Gel ($8.49 USD) — softens and conditions skin without a heavy leave-behind residue. What I think: I love all of the Neutrogena Rainbath washes, and this is one of my favorite scents. It’s fresh and sweet-scented, and my skin is clean and very soft after washing. I love using it as bubble bath.

Miracle Skin Transformer Triple Active Night Cream ($68.00 USD) — This multi-purpose cream combines the beauty benefits of three different creams, exfoliating skin, moisturizing and fighting daily environmental aggressors at once. What I think: I have been using this every night for about a week. When I apply it, it leaves sinks right into my skin, without leaving it greasy. In the morning, my skin is so soft and smooth. And very glowy! This is a good product if your skin is dry and dull.

What I think: Both of these brushes are now my favorite eye shadow brushes. The all over shadow brush works well from brow bone down to lashes and the crease brush is amazing! Gives just the right amount of pigment for my crease. Love! They are both made very well and are gorgeous!

SwimSpray Chlorine Removal Spray (4 oz $15, on sale for $11.95 USD at Amazon) — an all-natural solution that completely eliminates chlorine from hair and skin with a new vitamin C technology that neutralizes all lingering chlorine other swimmer-specific hair and skincare products leave behind without using additional chemicals to do so.

What I think: This is such as smart idea. You rinse your hair, apply SwimSpray, then shampoo. It cleans all of the chlorine and chemicals out of your hair and leaves it clean and soft.

In addition, the Hi-Def Tinted Brow Gel conditions brows to protect from breakage, and create soft and naturally beautiful brows.

What I think: This is a really nice brow gel that can help create the full brow look that is in right now. I love knowing that this is a product that can help the health of my brows. It’s also really easy to use, just swipe on with the brush and use the comb on the other end to tame your brows.

Pines Wheat Grass 250 Tablets ($18.95 USD for one bottle) — Pound for pound, PINES Wheat Grass is many times richer in chlorophyll and iron than spinach. Its protein level averages 25 percent and it contains virtually every vitamin known, along with 20 amino acids, including the eight that are considered essential for human health.

What I think: Wheat grass pills are such a healthy way to get so many essential vitamins. The only thing that I don’t care for is that you have to take 7 tablets a day to get the benefits. But, its worth it for this healthy supplement.

Product Round-Up — My Fave Beauty Things Week of August 18th!

It was so hot in Kansas City this week! I didn’t even want to go outside, but as a busy woman, I had errands to run. At least my makeup stayed put!

This week, I have been loving waterproof eye liners and mascara, a new powder foundation, a fresh body scrub, a cute new headband, and a rich body lotion.

Visual Eyes Liquid Eyeliner ($19 USD) — Tears are inevitable, but liner dripping down your face isn’t. Eyeko Visual Eyes is a waterproof liquid eyeliner that creates everything from a thin kitten eye to a sultry, sexy wing. Plus, you can play up your eye color with ebony, mocha and marine shades!

Sport Mascara ($$24 USD) — Who says dancing isn’t a sport? Eyeko’s newest mascara can withstand the test of time, tears and sweat with its triple coating gel formulation. What I think: I am so impressed with both of these products! The liners work very well, and it’s easy to get a thick line and cat’s eye. I especially love the mocha and marine liners. They will be great for fall! The mascara is perfect for this hot weather, as it doesn’t run or smear after dry.

VMV Hypoallergenics Illuminants Brilliant Finish 25 Powder Foundation ($45 USD) — This brightening, protective powder-foundation for all skin types works as an SPF 25 physical barrier against skin-darkening light while masking subtle hyperpigmentations and other imperfections. Smooth, light, and pore-friendly. Provides both a silky-sheer powder finish (applied dry), or a rich, creamy texture and flawlessly-full coverage (applied with wet sponge).

What I think: Right now, I have been using this in Chantilly (fair) dry as a light foundation. It works great in the heat. When it gets cooler, I will probably use it wet for more coverage. It lasts all day and doesn’t stick in my pores. I also love the case that it comes in.

Laura Mercier Eau Fraiche Verbena Infusion Gel Body Scrub ($40 USD) — Refresh and revive with this invigorating gel cleanser that gently exfoliates while removing impurities without drying or stripping skin of its natural oils. What I think: This smells fantastic! So fresh! I also love the gel consistency of this. I have never tried a gel scrub and I like how gentle it is on my skin.

Mia Beauty Denim Bow Headband ($8 USD) — add a cute finishing touch to any hairstyle, from loose waves to a trendy topknot.

What I think: This bow is so cute! I love the dark denim look. It is great to keep my hair off of my face and will be perfect for fall outfits!
